Girty was ready. She stood by the lake doing her stretches. The sun was only just appearing over the horizon and the grass was still wet with due. Girty took a deep breath and started to jog on the spot. She was up early practicing. Fitness would be the key. She just had two hurdles in front of her...one was that of Boggleworth.

Boggleworth stepped out of the Forbidden Forest with a strained look on his face. But he brightened immediately, that was his worst duty, the boundary of the forest and that night he had had some trouble. He pulled a Hufflepuff Fourth Year by the ear, whom he had found skulking in the forest, luckily for the boy a prefect had been around. He hauled the boy out of the forest and pushed him away "think yourself lucky, now be off with ye," chuckled Boggleworth. The boy scrambled away with a deep scowl on his face and a curse. Boggleworth sighed and moved away towards the lake, and spotted a distant figure who seemed to be jogging, somebody exercising! thought Boggleworth incredulously. He advanced and spied that the figure was Girty, he hadn't seen her exercising before, when he entered shouting distance he roared "Girt, how are ye? Having fun running around?"

Girty was shocked and jumped in the air spinning around. She did a high kick and looked around. She then saw and heard Bog in the distance. "What the hell are you doing here?" she ran over to him and drew her wand.
She breathed deeply and put her wand to her side. "Training as well are you?" She crossed her arms and eyed Bog up.

Laughing at Girty's acrobatics, Boggleworth wondered why she seemed to be so on edge. does Girt usually say hell he wondered, and draw her wand on him. "Me?" he said incredulously "Training? For what?" He looked at Girty quizzicaly and dismissed her wand out of hand, she wouldn't use it he thought why would she have any need to "Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked feeling thoroughly confused as he couldn't think what Girty could all of a sudden be training for, maybe he was just tiried from being up all night trying to find that stupid Hufflepuff, but he just couldn't fathom what could be wrong.

Girty looked Bog up and down. Is he being serious? She thought. How could he have not thought about training? Maybe he really does not want to be the house champion. Girty took a step back and placed her wand back in her pocket. “Oh nothing. Just erm…training the mind.” She looked around hoping Bog would not pick up on the lie due to the fact he was so tired. “Prefect duties?” she turned around and started to walk back to the lake.

Ignoring the attempt at changing the topic Boggleworth laughed heartily "Training the mind!" he exclaimed incredulously, "good grief, do you think I'll fall for that one," he laughed walking alongside Girty. "But if you want to be so secretive then lie to me," he turned away looking agitated and looking out into the lake, deigning interest in it, but really he was focused on what Girty could be hiding. "But you know, secrets aren't good for the soul," he advised still curious as to why Girty was really here.

Girty snorted at Bogs statement. "Well then my soul must be battered and bruised like anything." She let out a small laugh and looked at Bog. "Your too smart for me. In fact your stronger, wiser and have a better stamina then i have ever had. What chance do i have." She looked back to the lake and remained silent. "That is why I'm here. Because of you."

Finally he was getting somewhere, Boggleworth chuckled, "well for being supposively smart, why do I still not know what you are on about? Why are you here because of me? You're talking in riddles Miss Hubbles, please explain yourself in understandable English...or French. Finally, I may be better in those areas which is debatable but in other areas I am not, and that's what makes us unique!" He finished with a laugh.

Girty sat thinking about what Boggleworth had said. she had to run it through her mind a few times then it clicked. Her eyes grew wide and she smiled. "I suppose it is really. Very well said Bog." She gave a small clap of the hands and thought also about Bogs question. "Well to be honest i want to beat you and i have no hope if i go unprepared. If you fail to plan you plan to fail."

Boggleworth was finally getting through to Girty, and she seemed to be far more relaxed now, but Boggleworth was still puzzled. "A good saying that, and we'll all do well to remember it but, Girt, I've still, no idea what you are on about, beat me at what?" He asked still confused.

Girty smiled. "I want to beat you so i can get the place in the Quadwizard Tournament that is what." She looked up at Bog and let out a huge sigh. "but you will get the place as well... look at you. your in the Quidditch team, your head boy and well everyone loves you. If you mention my name they will wither go 'who?' or 'Oh that sully Hufflepuff" Girty kicked a stone that was lying in front of her and watched it fly into the distance.

"Oh Girt me old chum, you do talk twaddle about me, you must have confidence in yourself, admittedly as I do, that's the only way, and to be perfectly honest, you are far better suited to being the Champion," abruptly stopping Girty from arguing back he continued sharply "here me out, look at the work you are putting in...already, give yourself some credit and a pat on the back too!" advised Boggleworth.

Girty looked up at Bog with a weak smile. "You really mean it?" spun around and before Bog could do anything gave him a huge hug. She let go and jumped up and down so she was the same height as Bog "That is what i mean you being wise." She gave a small giggle and start to dance around in a circle feeling full of energy.

Enjoying the profound effect he seemed to have had on Girty Boggleworth chuckled as he watched her prance around with joy, "Of course I mean it, though the being wise is not too shrewd on your part," joked Boggleworth "I am very trying don't you know, I just haven't the energy," he commented not really complaining as he sat down on the grass admiring the newly fallen leaves of Autumn, this time of year enthralled Boggleworth with the many different Autumnal colours of Browns, Oranges and Yellows in particular. A conker tree stood nearby slightly bent in the stiff winds that often flowed through. Many of the Conkers lay sprawled in the grass the first ones had just recently opened. Some First Years quite probably muggle-born were throwing conkers around joyfully, Boggleworth knew he should theoretically tell them off, but they were having fun and what harm could they do? He felt especially at peace this time of year as the seasons changed and the nights admittedly did draw in, but all too soon Christmas would approach and another year would have passed in the blink of an eye. He sighed not regretfully, twas more of a deep breath as he turned back to Girty still dancing.

Girty stopped dancing and flopped on the floor. “Well as long as one of the tasks is skipping around in a circle for a while I bet I could win that” She started to laugh and stared at the sky. Storm clouds were rolling in form the north. She sat up and felt the dew go through her jumper and touch her skin. She gave a wild shiver and looked at Bog. He seemed to have a far off look on his face. “Well as long as your there to help me Bog. 2 minds is better then 1.”
