It was a saturday afternoon, and Carrie had left the Common Room purely with the intentions of spending all day outside. She had, however, neglected to actually look outside before making this decision. Hogwarts was suffering a particularly stormy day, a determined wind fighting against the thick showers of rain.
She had arrived at the Entrance Hall and gaped at the awful weather - it had been nicely sunny all week so she should have known that the weekend would have to turn out bad. After an annoyed few moments of thought, she finally decided to settle for the library and made her way down the corridor.
The library was looking pretty full.. most likely because of the weather, and Carrie had to walk right to the back of the library to finally find herself a vacant table. Dropping her bag onto the surface, she pulled out a tinted green book titled Jinxes for the Jinxed and sat down to read it with a somewhat amused smile.

Girty ran into the library and looked around for an empty table. She groaned when she noticed how full it had become but she need to do extra reading for potions. She pulled her bag back onto her shoulder and walked through the library looking for some space. Girty then thought she saw a table but noticed that Carrie was sitting there. Girty gave a last look around to see if there was any space. When the search ended hopelessly she walked closer and put her bag down hoping not to interrupt her from her reading. As she pulled out quill and ink they hit each other and caused a load clang. Girty looked nervously around. "Sorry."

Carrie had just been engrossed in reading about a particular nasty jinx that made the victim's eyebrows come to life and try and eat the owner, when a loud clang made her jump slightly. Looking up she noticed it was Girty, a Hufflepuff she had talked to numerous times but never really got to know yet.
'Oh its fine.' She said briskly, actually quite glad of the company after her disappointment over the weather. 'Bit full isn't it?' The Gryffindor said conversationally, glancing around the packed tables of the library. 'What have you come in to do?' She looked at what was presumely homework in Girty's hand and gave it a look of disgust.

Girty smiled a Carrie and sat down. "It is full. Does nobody have anything better to do?" she made the last part of the sentence a lot louder so people around her could hear. She noticed a few heads turn and look and her many giving her evil glares. After Girty giggled about the student around her she looked at Carrie and then back at the parchment. "Oh I'm doing some potions work...I'm not very good though. What bout you?"

Carrie smirked as Girty deliberately complained loudly - if there was one thing the Gryffindor hated about the library, it was how it had to be so utterly quiet all the time. 'Well I know I don't have anything better to do.' She gave a sigh and looked out the window at the pouring rain, before turning to Girty again. 'Potions homework?' She repeated, staring at the work as if it was a rather large pile of dragon's dung.
'I'm reading this..' She held up the book in front of Girty, just close enough for her to read the curvy black writing on the front. 'You have no idea how much enjoyment this book has brought to me.' She gave a laugh and patted the book fondly, allowing her mind to wonder through the many jinxing memories.

Girty smiled at the book. "Well then i will have to stay away from you then when your angry." she giggled and looked back to her potions. "You know what. I can never get a potion right as i do not know my left from my right. I stir the stupid thing the wrong way." she let out a sigh and placed her head on the table.
