Dear Joshua, It still won't eat anything. I've tried to feed it everything the house elves had to offer, but it just wont take any of it! I have no clue if i'm shoving the food in the right place in the first place, but I really don't want it to die on me.
Tell me again why taking it to Hogwarts was a better idea than living it with you and mum? I'm sure if you hid it well enough, she'd never find out. It's only 4 feet right now!
Anyway, I still need to find a place to hide it. It's not going to fit comfortably in my room any longer... I wonder if anyone around here knows any secret entrances to rooms.... I haven't met anyone I can trust yet, but I'm sure I will soon. My dorm-mates seem nice enough.
That's all for now, I'll keep you updated, Don't tell mum!
Liam
Liam read the letter over once more, before tying it to his grey owl, Herbert- his mum chose the name- and watching it fly away. With a relieved sigh, and nervous anticipation to recieve a reply, Liam continued to watch out the window, not quite ready to go back and face that... thing quite yet.

"That owl won't return that quickly," said Boggleworth into Liam's ear, he had crept up behind him and hoped to make him jump, just a little bit, he needed to have some power over the students.

Erin, who had been sending her own letter home glared at the Hufflepuff. "You're such a menace." She said walking up to the pair, her eagle owl, Karma, quietly perched on her shoulder. Erin smiled when she saw Liam. "Hey." She said nicely. She turned to the Head boy. "Teasing us younger students... your just wrong." she said laughing.

"Oh I beg your pardon!" laughed Boggleworth, "but I must hold onto the little power I have, you know just because I'm Head Boy doesn't mean I instantly qualify as a menace, though you would in fact be right in that assumption, I'm a complete and utter menace! And boy don't I love it!" He grinned mischeveously. "And" he continued, "I tease everybody, including teachers, so don't feel I pick on you in particular," he grinned. Boggleworth held out his hand to stroke Erin's Eagle Owl, he was ready to draw it back quickly but doubtless he would be nipped by the bird and viciously at that, but did he mind, nope.

Erin laughed, she put her hand up to her shoulder and Karma swiftly jumped onto her hand. "Here," She told Henry. "Keep your hand out." Erin slowly moved her hand towards his and when they were almost touching, Karma jumped onto the hufflepuff's hand and gave a small hoot. "Unlike me, my owl tends to be a bit more friendly." She laughed.

"Ah good," laughed Boggleworth, "we'll be best friends in seconds then," he teased, Boggleworth stroked Karma affectionately, careful not to ruffle her feathers too much. "I should get an owl," he thought aloud, "so what's it called?" He asked feeling interested in buying his own owl next time he was in diagon alley.

Erin smiled. "Her name is Karma, you know... what goes around comes around." She gave an embarassed laugh. "It's quite pathetic, or so my brothers say, but I wouldn't trade anything for Karma. She's the only gift I recieved from my father." Erin looked around quickly in hopes to not get on the topic of father's. "Owl's make great pets." She said finally. "You won't regret getting one if you do."

Boggleworth affectionately stroked the owl a wide smile across his face. "Oh I'm sure I wouldn't regret it, only gift from your father then eh? Something you'd rather not talk about though I presume?" He asked grinning.

Erin shrugged. "There's nothing really to talk about. It's just one of those thing I'd rather not share with anyone cuz then it'd mean I've made a friend... and frankly, I'd rather stay a stranger for now." Erin laughed. "A little mystery never hurt anyone."

"So you'd rather stay a loner then?" teased Boggleworth smiling broadly and giving Erin a playful shove. "well then mysterious stranger, did you just come up here to see your very lovely owl?" He enquired stroking the owl affectionately again.

Erin laughed. "Actually, Kind sir, I came up here to send a letter myself." Erin replied playfully. "And no, I don't intend to be a loner... It's just uncomfortable for me to share things with other people about my family."
Erin looked at Karma and smiled. "Besides... we've only just met." She looked back up at Boggleworth and laughed. "But I do love to visit her, she's my only friend here.... so far."

"Well at least you've got a good friend in this owl!" exclaimed Boggleworth with a wry grin. "I'm sure you'll make friends fast, see how quick you've got to know me," Yet again Boggleworth stroked Karma and then said "I'd better hand her back, otherwise I'll get too attached," he laughed jovially, gently handing Karma back to Erin. Boggleworth didn't really like the owlery he just passed through from time to time, as he didn't have his own owl it just made him miss his family. He fell into a daze and thought about his family.

Erin looked at Henry then at Karma. She carefully picked up her owl and placed her on her perch. Erin looked at the ground and sighed. "It's tough when you're so far from home. Do you miss your family?" Erin asked looking up at Boggleworth.

As Erin took Karma gratefully back Boggleworth moved to a window, crouching and resting his arms on the sill he pondered the inevitable question Erin had just asked. "Do I miss them? How do I know? I never even knew them...not a single one of them," a single tear sprang to his eyes as he spoke softly. "And now I'm digging myself a hole," he murmered with a small grin, "I suppose you're wondering what happened to them? Did they leave me? No and yes, they have left this world, and all I hope and pray is that they have gone to a better place, I never used to think of them, but lately..." Turning he realised who he was speaking to a total stranger up until a few minutes ago, "But why should you care? It doesn't matter," he stood up slowly with a sigh and continued "Duty calls, maybe I'll see you around sometime," he made to brush past Erin hoping she would just steer clear...

Erin gave him a soothing smile and moved out of his way. "I'll catch ya later then." She looked back at Karma as Boggleworth left and laughed. "See ya kar!" she said as she ran back to the castle.
