If a student were to walk into Professor Eriksson's class, they would quickly become very confused, and wonder how they had lost their way badly enough to end up in the Forbidden Forest rather than the History of Magic classroom.
Ethelion Eriksson leaned against a tree, dressed in long grey robes, and watched the tree which he knew opened up into the door, waiting for students to arrive.

When choosing the subjects that she was going to take this year, Carrie had been very careful. She had learnt from the previous year that if she wasn't properly interested in the lesson, she really did not work for it (and seeing that really working for it was still not much, she had to choose wisely.) That is why she was heading towards the History of Magic classroom - History had always been something that intrigued her, probably because the lives of the people before her seemed to be so much more interesting.
Carrie reached the classroom door, and took it for granted that everything would be the usual layout, with the usual desks and chairs filling the room. She hadn't expected it to be, well - not a room anymore. 'What the-' She stared around at the forest setting, and was just about to walk straight back out again when she noticed Professor Eriksson leaning against a tree. 'Well, er, this is new Sir.' The Gryffindor said with a slight smirk, looking around at the surroundings approvingly - her initial shock gone.

Thom had never taken History of Magic before, not in all his years of Hogwarts. He had been relluctantly been persuaded by his mother in several less than polite letters to attend. Now he was trudging along the corridor to the History of Magic classroom. He was quite shocked to open the door to be introduced to what looked like the edge of the Forbidden Forest. He stared for a moment before walking in.
He spotted a Gryffindor he knew as Carrie, and Professor Eriksson, a man he had only ever encountered once at the end of last year. Thom suddenly remembered it was he who had healed the bite wound from Novella into a cresent shaped scar. He tried to hide his less that agreeable attitude as he reached the two of them.

History of Magic. A fascinating class that had gotten Helia in to more touble than almost any of her other classes, which was exactly why she was taking it again this year. Not only was the subject captivating, but the way the professor brought it to life was equally amazing... though sometimes it became too real. She reached the door, turnedd the knob and walked into... 'The forest?' she asked herself, puzzled. It was quite a change of scenery, and she couldn't quite imagine why they would be having a history class in such an... earthy environment. She gave the teacher a quizzical glance in the hopes he would explain.

Ethelion pushed himself up from the tree, walking toward the three students who had entered the class. He was secretly pleased by their confusion, but he didn't let this show, remaining stony faced and sober.
"Welcome back to History of Magic, everyone," he said. "I see you've noticed the change of classroom. Don't worry, it's just a spell... if i were to remove the illusion we'd be right back in your own classroom."

'Well that explains everything!' thought Helia sarcastically, glad to finally have a class where there weren't a million people reading her mind. "So, why exactly are we having class in a classroom enchanted to look like the forbidden forest?" she asked, still fairly confused about the method behind his madness, which is not to say she didn't like the foresty classroom. In fact, she quite enjoyed it. She only wondered if she were to walk about gathering wand making supplies, would they disappear after class was over. 'Nothing to fret about now,' she thought before making herself comfortable on a nearby, mushroom covered log.

Thom moved forward and grabbed a handful of leaves, tearing them off. They felt very real, and he was suprised that they remained even though he had broken them from the rest of the illusion. He let them fall to the ground uninterestedly, and leaned against the nearest tree trunk. 'If we're going to be learning about the forest - then why don't we just go to the forest?' Thom asked, puzzled.

Lisa stumbled into the room, yawning. She had been up late the other night doing her prefect rounds, and had missed breakfast to make things even worse. History, although she didnt mind it, hadn't sounded like the most thrilling morning activity, and she sighed.
That was until she saw the state of the room. Her eyes widened, and she thought for a moment she had gone to the wrong classroom, until she noticed a couple of students and their professor. Curiously walking inside, she found herself feeling much more awake than before, and raised an eyebrow. Catching the end of Thom's question, she gave him a crooked smile. "I'm sure they call it forbidden for a reason," she said, feeling excited as she ventured deeper into the room. "Too dangerous." Her smile grew, knowing full well many students explored it no matter the title nor reputation.

Ethelion nodded curtly. "Just right, Ms. Lycott. Far too dangerous for you students, especially the area we'll be discussing tonight. Besides... we'll be watching certain things happen, and that would be a bit more difficult in the real forest. "

Zachary groaned, "You've got to be kidding me." He muttered as she stepped through the door into the classroom- if you could call it that. He had expected History of Magic to be a boring class, one with neat rows and textbooks, and had hoped to catch up on a bit of sleep. History was always great for a nap or two.
Narrowing his eyes, he stood just close enough to listen to the Professor, but far enough from the Gryffindors so he wouldn't have to - god forbid- speak to any of them. He was just thankful Liam Peakes was absent. [/color]

Thom looked over his shoulder, watching Zack enter. 'Aw, ickle Slytherin,' he teased in a mock-baby voice. He laughed to himself and turned back to Ethelion. 'But we go to the forest all the time - er - not personally on my own, of course - but in care of magical creatures!' he said swiftly, rubbing the back of his neck.

Ethelion raised an eyebrow at Thom Moen, pausing for a moment. "...As I said, Mr. Moen, we'll be recreating an event. What you do in your spare time I'd rather not know, but the real forest would not serve properly for this lesson. We'll be watching something which happened in the forest many years ago... almost like going into a pensieve."

At the mention of a pensieve, Thom perked up. His mother owned a pensieve, and he had seen her using it many times, but had never been allowed to placing anything himself inside it. Nor had he looked into one. Thom hoped that whatever they saw today would make up for that missing experience. 'Is it cool? Is something going to die?' Thom asked almost a little eagerly.

She thumped Thom in the arm, "Show a little respect for the dead, hm? Even if nothing dies, this is an ancient memory and more likely than not all the people involved are dead now. Be nice." Even with saying that, she couldn't help but be a little eager for the event herself. She was fascinated with the History of Magic lessons, even though they learned about things that happened years and years ago, there was something current and intriguing about them. Perhaps it was just Helia being nutty, which was a valid assumtion, but this was one of her favorite classes.

"Something recreated?" Lisa mumbled, thinking about their last lesson. Shuddering slightly, she looked at the Professor eagerly. "This- This event that we're going to watch happen... It wouldn't happen to be connected to last term's History class, would it?" She bit her lip worriedly, though her eyes shone with excitement, almost afraid of the answer, though mostly intrigued.
