This lesson was held in a normal classroom, and if Algernon wasn't so excited he might have felt clostrophobic being close into the small, boxy room, complete with uncomfortable desks and a chalkboard.
Algernon sat behind his desk, practicly vibrating with excitment. Creative Magic had been his very favorite class when he attended Beauxbatons, Divination having been ruined by the stuffy old teacher, who was convinced that reading the stars was a beastial, uncivilized talant.

Thom entered the new Creative Magic classroom smiling brightly. He had heard of the subject before, and had always wished that it would come to Hogwarts. He was relieved that he had taken up an apprenticeship instead of leaving Hogwarts for good, and upon seeing Professor Moncrieff sat behind his new desk looking a lot more cheery that usual, he grinned and said, 'Hello, professor.'

Liam entered the room with an expression of disbelief on his face. He'd never heard of the subject, and it sounded a bit silly to him in all honesty. But he thought he might as well give it a try... He wasn't one to judge any class without learning about it thoroughly first.
Setting his bag down loudly, he pulled out a chair and took a seat, glancing curiously in the professors direction. Noticing he was one of the first to enter, he fiddled around nervously.

Creative magic. The name was what had lured her most, and she decided the class would be one worth taking... It seemed less stressing than all the others, and had a name which sounded as though it allowed each person to express themselves in any way.
Upon entering the classroom, she noticed only a few students and sat in one of the empty desks brightly, gathering her quill.

Algernon smiled at the students. "Hello Mr. Moen, Ms. Lycott! And, er... Mr. Peakes, I believe?" Thom and Lisa were two of the students from that day at the lake, and Algernon felt some affinity for him, but he had only heard distantly of the other Gryffindor. Still, any student was welcome in his class. "Just a moment, and I'll explain... I'm sure you're all wondering what this class is all about."

Helia blushed as she netered the room, seeing three students already present and awaiting instruction from their Head Master, or so it seemed. "Heh heh, hello everyone," she said and quickly found a nearby desk to sit at. She was not often one to be found arriving to class. Rarely was she even there on time, she prided herself on being early to classes, but not recently. She looked over at the Gryffindor boy, she remembered him from their Occlumency class. She leaned towards him saying, "Hey, I'm Helia, don't think we've met?"

Jac walked into the class and looked around for a familiar face. Seeing many she recognised, but none she really knew she snuck into the back row and sat down quietly, setting her rucksack next to her.
She pulled out note making equipment and looked up at the professor, wide-eyed. She was anxious to see what this class was all about.

"Don't think you want to," Zachary said with an easy smirk, entering the classroom and catching what Ollivander had said to the Gryffindor, as he passed by. He sneered slightly in Peakes' direction, before settling himself in a far seat in the corner of the room.

"And why might that be, Zachary?" he'd never told her his name, but she'd gotten so curious about the stuck up Slytherin after the forest exploration that she'd looked him up. He obviously had some distinct problem with thise specific Gryffindor, and since Halo was always one interested in the most recent interhosue conflict it caught her fancy as something to pay attention to.

Algernon bit his lip, shaking his head. "Come, come everyone, this should be a fun class -- let's not bring our rivalries into it, alright?"

Zachary scowled at the use of his first name, before looking at Peakes' significantly. "Not only is he a Gryffindor - which is usually enough reason to stay away - but he's a right git as well." He glared again, before turning back to Ollivander.
Then, he turned to the Professor. He looked like a pushover if Zachary had ever seen one. He smirked slightly, before grabbing a piece of parchment.

She smirked and muttered under her breath, "Certainly takes one to know one, doesn't it?" She then pulled her attention back to Professor Moncrieff and smiled brightly, "Speaking of this being a fun class, mind explaining just exactly what it is? I'm still a bit confused, Professor." She had taken this class for two reasons; One, because the Head Master was taching it, and two, because it sounded fascinating. Only thing was, she still hadn't a clue as to what 'Creative Magic' was.

Although Zack had never stopped cheeking Thom in the short time that they had known each other, the Hufflepuff was certainly fond of the boy's rudeness to other people. Thom knew he wouldn't have liked any of it aimed at him, but it was always entertaining to listen to Zack's disrespect... and and it was even funnier when he got a come back.
Thom grinned at Lisa and Helia. 'This should be more fun than most classes.' he said. 'I bet its a piece of cake, too.'

"Don't be so sure. In this school the classes that sound easiest tend to be more difficult than you'd imagine," she said thinking of all the classes she'd taken last year, thinking she'd breeze through them, and then having many difficulties in the subject. She tilted her head, "But most assuredly it will be fun. Remember who our Professor is now," she said with a nod to Professor Moncrieff. Any class he taught was sure to be an adventure.

Algernon grinned despite himself. "Thanks for the vote of confidence, Helia," he said. "Yes, I hope this class is a lot of fun, and although it will seem easy to some of you... to the few of you who really understand, nothing will be harder."
He rested his head on his hands, leaning toward the students from behind his desk. "Creative Magic is... well, it's a trenscendance of talant. It's like... there are wizards and witches who can make utterly fantastic books, or plays, or paintings, by being able to transform magic and talent into a single thing so even Muggles are spellbound... So even Muggles say that it's just like magic. Because this requires both skill with magic and... artistic skill, it can be very difficult. But the results... Muggles wonder where the time has gone after listening to a Magically Created concert or seeing a Magically Created painting. Because the magic does soak up time, it takes them briefly to another dimension, and then they return to their own dimension never knowing what happened but knowing they experienced something real, something true."
