Zachary looked at the Professor stonily, not having liked him the instant points had been taken from his house. He wouldn't participate in the man's class at all, if he could help it, and instead lounged carefully on his chair, obviously showing his intense boredom.

Helia bit her lip. Helping her house was tempting... but so was keeping whatever her worst fear was a secret from herself and the class. She mulled over the risks and gains when finally she took a deep breath and raised her hand, "I'll do it Professor Addis." She stood up and walked towards the front of the class, "So what do I do, just stand here and wait for it to pop out and scare the living death out of me?" she asked sarcastically.

Draco sat in one of the desks near the back, watching the Boggart's cupboard with a guarded expression. His fist was clenched around his quill as he continued to stare, and for a brief moment he looked up at Addis with a sneer. What sort of idiotic Professor would teach them about Boggarts, he thought irrationally, panicking because, even though he always denied it, he already knew what his biggest fear was.
He remembered the illusion cast of Lucius Malfoy last term, and gripped his quill tighter, his knuckles turning a ghostly white.

"Think of the happiest memory you can, Helia, then raise your wand at the Boggart and cast the spell "Riddikulus'." Leigh said, clicking his fingers, activating a prior spell he had cast. The cupboard doors slowly swung open.

(( Its think of the funniest thing - to make it change shape to no longer look scary. ))
Thom took a few steps back to the side of the room, not wanting the Boggart to look upon him instead of Helia. Others were standing far too close to her - that silver haired Slytherin boy was sat quite far back, but still right behind her. The cupboard made a loud creaking as it opened, and Thom watched darkly as some emerged from between the doors...

((Anyways...))
Helia stood there, feeling her heart pounding in her head, butterflies fluttering around in her stomach as the doors opened. She wanted to look away, she wanted to go back in itme and not volunteer, she wanted to do anything but see what horrible beast decided it would show up, but she couldn't. Time seemed to move slowly as the creature in the cupboard moved forward, she watched as the shape shifted several times before truly making its presence known to the room. At first she didn't quite understand what was going on because all she saw... was herself. Sitting at a desk leaning over a pile of papers. One of the papers began hovering and lifted itself up for her to read: For lacking the appropraite amount of members for a Quidditch team, Ravenclaw House will not be allowed to compete this year. If that wasn't bad enough another paper rose in front of her: I'm afraid that due to complaints about faulty wands, and the otherwise lack of clientel has made us reconsider Helia's Wanderful World as a worthy addition to our market. We insist that you close your shop and vacate the premises as soon as possible. Finally a third letter appeared, "No," her voice wavered, unnaturally silent. She didn't want to see what it said. What had Professor Addis said? Happiest thought? How could she think of anything happy at this point? She fought with herself, anything happy. Anything at all to keep the last letter out of site... but it was too late: Due to disorderly conduct, Helia Ollivander is hereby stripped of her title as Head Girl. In addition, for acting in a manner most despicable according to Hogwarts code of conduct we hereby expell Ms. Ollivander from Hogwarts and request that she not return, ever. We will be sending a prioritized list of her acts to other schools that they will not accept her as a student either. She could feel the silent tears falling down her face, her breath got stuck in her throat, she tried to remember that this was all an illusion. Ravenclaw could still play quidditch, her shop was fine, she was still head girl she wasn't expelled, it was all fake none of it was real, just like the joke wand she'd put in her Uncle's bed. She smiled and began thinking of other humourous things, she and her brother trying to make up spells when they were little and only managing to change the color of their eyelashes, First coming to Hogwarts and nearly tripping down the stairs on her way to the Ravenclaw table, her first trip to hogsmeade where she nearly got kicked out of Madam Puddifoots for swinging on a chandelier. She aimed her wand at the image in front of her and said, "Riddikulus!" The papers went through an invisible shredder and set themselves alight, much like the daily prophets at the school newspaper. She saw the desk slowly turn into one of the dragons from her brothers reserve and it promptly began to do an irish jig while her boogart-self smiled and melted into a flock of fake snidgets. She sighed with relief before looking towards the professor, "Was that right?" she asked, still a bit shaken from the encounter. Perhaps most people would've thought that boggart was silly, but all she cared about right now was that it was gone.

"Ooh! Ooh! Let me go next!" Fin screamed, waving his hand in the air. Unlike Helia, he was rather anxious to see what it was he feared most.

Leigh nodded grimly. "That's enough." He said quietly, flicking his hand and the padlock locking itself again on the cupboard. "Helia you may sit down again, and 10 Points to Ravenclaw." Leigh walked away from the cupboard, distressed he sat down and he sat down in chair roughly.
"There are some people who can face their fears better than others. Some people freeze and die from shock, while others have the bravery to confront their fears. Helia overcame hers, despite us all finding out what they are." Leigh said, unsettled. "I'm not expecting any one of you to have a go like Helia, in case your fear takes over you and you need help ridding yourself of that Boggart."
Leigh placed his face in his hands, then removing them he was shaking. "Is there anyone else who would like a go?" He continued, eyeing the class for anyone. His mind was full of fear over one incident that was barely handled. "Points will be earned for anyone who participates, so there is a reward. You do not have to have a go though..."
Leigh then noticed Fins hand waving wildly. "Fin? Alright." Leigh said standing and walking across the room. He flicked his hand, unlocking the cupboard again. "Are you ready?"
((I had to modify this because Tyler posted before me!))

Zachary looked at Helia disbelivingly, before muttering, "I'd have thought the dragon would be the fear, not the key to banishing it."
He would have snorted in amusement, if he wasn't positive Addis would take points off him for it. [/color]

Thom's face had become more and more distorted as he had watched Helia's trial under the intimidation of the boggart. At first he had covered his mouth lightly, reserving a bark of laughter for the moment that he found her fears their most comical, but after a while he had begun to understand that it was Helia - she had always been a little diverse in her priorities. Perhaps it was wise of her to fear failure and lack of progress over pain and death?
The Hufflepuff felt a slice of jealously, and he watched articulate with envy as Fin came forward now, seemingly rather more lively about the whole prospect of meeting his darkest terror.
Thom himself had no idea what his biggest fear was. It had not long ago been dragons, but since he had been close to Novella that frightfulness had withered away to nothing...

Post by Henry Boggleworth on Aug 29, 2006 13:19:06 GMT
Boggleworth wanted and needed to know his darkest fear, he stood up hesitantly at first but his voice spoke of confidence. "I'll give it a shot," without waiting for an agreement he strode towards the closet. He felt the eyes of his classmates on his back, and he wondered what had possessed him to do such a thing. Suddenly the voice of Henry sounded in his head, the first time he had spoken since Boggleworth's return to Hogwarts. this is a bad idea, listen to me for once, and get the hell back, they won't think little of you for backing down from such a task as this oh but they will, it's too late now The doors of the closet slowly opened and out stepped... Grace, Boggleworth was dumbstruck and thoughts of his happiest moments coincedently with Grace and also with the Guild, were driven from his mind. Tears rolled down the Boggart Grace's face and she screamed "get away from me! I never want to see you again!" Boggleworth was startled but quickly overcame the fear as he knew that couldn't possibly happen, their love was too strong. He began to summon up happy thoughts when suddenly Grace changed into an older woman, who looked vaguely familiar Mum! Roared Henry in Boggleworth's mind a scream that made Boggleworth clasp his hands over his ears, he gaped in astonishment this was his Mother, the woman he had never known. But then the Boggart changed again into another woman with dark evil eyes, long flowing jet-black hair, and billowing robes, instantly Boggleworth knew she was evil and sudden memories from Henry played in his mind of this woman killing his Father as Henry, himself, peaked out of the closet door petrified with fear. The woman moved towards him and her voice rose out "you are mine now, the last of that pitiful line, and you walk straight into my hands, how very kind of you," Boggleworth was struck dumb with the fear that Henry felt, then pure hate oozed out, and Henry took over Boggleworth's body screaming "Sectumsempra" nothing happened, Boggleworth strained to take back his mind and body as the woman drew closer hand outstretched. Henry began the dreadful words of the curse "Avada" but then Boggleworth abruptly stopped him short in a strangled yell as he took back his body and lept backwards as if hit by a blow, he sprawled on the floor as the Boggart still advanced...

((Hmm.... haven't posted in a while as Addis, so hehe ;D))
Leigh gripped his wand tightly and leapt forward in front of the boggart, the image of Henry's worst fear shifting into a distorted form of a man and tiger, insanity evident in its ever changing eyes. The beast mans form changed constantly, trapped between worlds. Leigh felt sweat appear on his forehead as he concentrated on the boggart, teeth being gritted together. He knew his fear, knew how to fight it and knew how to vanquish it.
With a roar of pain, Leigh held out his wand and cried out, whilst remembering the greatest moment of his life, 'Riddikulus!'
The spell shot forth from his wand, striking the boggart and throwing it back into the cupboard, the padlock and chain snapping shut almost instantly.
With his breath almost lost, Leigh looked down at Henry and extended his hand, offering the student a hand up. 'Class is over,' Leigh gasped out, trying to raise his voice. 'Next class will be soon... 15 points to every House.'
