Faye had been up since the early hours of the morning long before the summer sun had made its entrance. She had been unable to sleep, the lingering hot weather causing her to toss and turn in her bed, agitating her and making her more frustrated. She had risen and walked along the corridors for a while, and had begun to think about her first lesson of term two, which was just a few hours away.
Last term her few but beloved pupils had reached a perfect pinacle in their training. It was always difficult to become an Animagus - but Faye had always found that it was the young who could achieve it more easily. What was it about age that prevented someone from reaching their potential? Faye had no doubt it had something to do with the dishonesty and lifelessness of adults. Her students were happy, unbias and truthful. They would be ready soon...
Faye now sat against the wall in her classroom, several teacups and two pots of tea set ready for her usual three, a trio of delightful and energetic Hufflepuffs. It would be far too difficult if any new students appeared today, though, as they would have to be taken into the Void before they were as advanced as the three she had been training last term.
There was a polite knock on the classroom door, and it was pushed open to reveal the first arrival. 'Hello,' she smiled affectionately.

Grace stuck her head past the open door and smiled at Prof Vedette. "Morning Prof," she said happily. She walked in and closed the door behind her. She walked towards the professor and asked as cheerfully as she could muster, "how are you? Have a good holiday?"
She had been thinking of what had happened in the Void and had not been able to get it out of her mind. Then the incident with her father. They had to be related somehow. And her mother too, though that was still unclear. All the same she forced a smile and joined the professor on the floor, crossing her legs politely.

Girty knew what lesson was it was time for. She put her bag over her shoulder and ran down the corridors. She did not want to be late. as she approached the door she knocked and pushed it opened. Inside she saw Professor Vedette and Grace. "Good morning everyone" Girty had a wide grin on her face as she closed the door and skipped farther into the room.

Faye smiled affectionately as Grace and Girty entered the room and immediately sat down to join her. She picked up the tray, offering them strawberry tea as she spoke. 'Wonderful you could join us, Girty. And I had a wonderful holiday, Grace,' Faye said earnstly. 'I went down to Cornwall for three weeks. I hope you two had a good a time as I?' she looked at them both warmly.
I've been very excited about all of this, girls. Its always such an amazing feeling when you transform for your first time - and I'm confident that you two shall achieve that very soon indeed. I don't know if I mentioned it, but its a hundred and fifty points for any who can actually suceed.'

Grace gladly took a cup of tea and began to sip it furiously. Grace fround, though, at the mention of her holiday. She avoided the question and instead smiled at her cup. She was warm, a sensation she was still getting used to. But this warmth was not only from the tea, her anxiety was getting the better of her. She was rocking back and forth and humming softly to herself.

Grace had not answered Faye's question Girty thought she would at least push it out the way. "Yes we had an eventful summer thank you and I'm glad you did too." She smiled and looked at the tea thinking about the prospect of 150 house points.
"Are you that confident we can do it then Professor?"

Carrie had finally reached the Animagus Training classroom and poked her head around the door to check if others had already arrived. Smiling, she noticed Grace and Girty at the front of the room already conversing with the Professor. 'Morning.' Carrie said, moving forward in the room and taking a seat just behind the two Hufflepuffs. Animagus Training had proved an interesting addition to her lesson timetable, and the Gryffindor was excited at the prospect of getting closer and closer to actual transformation time.

((Hey Amy, time to meet my pompous Slytherin!))
Jerred leant against the door, arms folded on his chest as he looked about the room. He wanted to transform, into anything. He walked across to a table, sat down and closed his eyes, a cocky smile coming across his face.
"Morning Professor Veddette, are you still teaching beginners?" Jerred asked, opening his eyes as he spoke.

Faye had been about to speak two the two Hufflepuffs when the Gryffindor she knew to be Carrie arrived. 'Oh. Carrie - how wonderful of you to come at last!' she smiled, remembering the charming girl from last time. 'Luckily for you, Grace and Girty's practical is not until later tonight. This lesson is to disguss the theory of evolution associated with Animagus.' she shuffled to make the circle wider, and to pour some extra strawberry tea. However, she jumped and split it over the tray when the floor flung open a second time...
'Oh!' Faye said to herself, suprised. She looked at the Slytherin boy for a moment as he leaned against the door frame, smiling confidently. 'I - Mr Boneman, is it?' Faye asked, hoping she had the right person. She glanced significantly at Grace and Girty as he called them beginners.
'I was completely oblivious that there were any other students here already part way through out training apart from Henry Boggleworth.' Faye smiled earnstly and beckoned him in. 'Would you like some tea also, Jerred? As I was saying to Carrie, today is a theory lesson - a wonderful chance to earn your house some points.'
Faye wondered if the Slytherin was going to stir trouble, but knew that it was unlike her to judge a book by its cover. I'm sure he's lovely really, she told herself.

Grace smiled at Carrie as she sat down. She still had her nose in her cup when a slytherin walked in. She coughed and spluttered as Faye invited him to join them, especially after him calling them 'beginners'. Grace's eyes met Prof Vedette's. She raised her eyebrows questioningly, but stuck out her cup for more tea and smiled as Jerred joined them any way. "Could I have a little more please, professor?" she asked politely.

Faye picked up the half-empty teapot and raised it, slowly pouring the hot drink into Grace's cup. She gave the girls a pleading look, one that asked her to give him a chance. Perhaps he was not all bad if they treated him kindly. Wondering if Grace had been a little too hurt by Jerred's label, Faye gave a broad smile and said. 'I think you shall be perhaps the first to transform, Miss Marks. You're inner animal is very strong, and you have all the confidence in the world. You are perfectly able.'

Grace brought the cup to her lips and sipped it but nearly spat it out again. "Really?" she said, lowering her cup. "Oh my," she said to herself. She looked at Girty and gasped at her. No ways! She felt like a young child just before Christmas, not allowed to open her presents just. "Well, let's get started please, professor!" she asked eagerly.

Faye smiled. 'Tonight, Grace. Just and and Girty. Come here around eight.' She stood up now, leaving the students who had gather by her on the floor, and walked to the center of the room. 'Can anyone explain to me why some see the the act of a human transforming into an Animagus is considered the next step in evolution?' Faye new it was a profoundly easy question, but it would make the rest of the lesson move much quicker.
(( All the questions I ask from now on won't have any real answer, so just make it up, guys =P ))

Girty looked at the professor when she asked the question. A frown filled her face as she tried to find the words to answer her question. "Well evolution is change. And we are changing to become an animal. But i imagine a human changing to a slug can not be called evolution truly professor...coudl it?"

Faye smiled. 'You're quite right, Girty - although your a little more ahead than I was hoping for. It is true that the theory of evolution involving transforming consists of devided opinions. While some see the process of animal to human and back again as a positive progression in evolution - being able to alter our bodies to such an extent at will - some see it as the opposite. There are those who think that true evolution should come in form of changing to something far more intelligent than a human, as animals are considered lesser.'
Faye turned to the large foeglass covering her window. She waved her wand, and instantly one of the dark and gloomy shapes came forward a little, lingering against the glass. 'Can anyone tell me the name of person who developed the theory of Devolution?' she pointed her wand at the shadowy figure. 'And ten points to you Girty, well done.'
