Faye had been pacing her classroom patiently, thinking of little and occassionaly picking up a trinket or nearby object and fondling with it absent mindedly. Faye had been immensely nervous upon the day she had been waiting for her very first students, but now it was all different. She was confident and relaxed, and found herself not glancing upon the door every couple of seconds as if expecting an unteachably riot to break through the wood...
Today Faye would be privately showing her latest edition how to enter the Void in order to find her inner animal. She was also very pleased that the girl was Gryffindor house. She had been rather put out lately that only Hufflepuffs wished to be around her. She did of course love them for it though.
There was a gentle knock on the door, and Faye joined her hands and watched Carrie McEwan enter...

Carrie knew that a few others in the Animagus class had already successfully had their Private tutoring, and she didn't know if this made her feel better or worse. The Gryffindor felt quite nervous about the whole thing because she knew it meant digging deep inside herself, and she was worried about what she might find there. There was also the fact that she might find out her "inner animal" is a slug or something similar, which wouldn't be the most thrilling of news.
Reaching Professor Vedette's classroom, Carrie gave a couple of taps on the door before entering it. 'Hello Professor.' She said smiling - at least the teacher she had to reach inside herself with was one of the more approachable adults of Hogwarts.

Faye joined her hands in her lap, smiling. 'It's wonderful you could make it, Carrie. I was worried you might have another commitment.' Faye stood up from the desk she had been sitting at, and motion for Carried to follow her for two red velet padded chairs set up under a flickering torch. 'I'm sorry this classroom is so gloomy. I had been hoping for one with many tall windows when I came to Hogwarts, but I was offered this one with only one - and I had to hang my foeglass over it.' she said disheartenedly.
'I expect you have not spoken to Grace Marks and Girty Hubbles of the technique of what we intend to do for you today?' Faye sat down, motioning for Carrie to sit opposite.

The classroom was rather shadowy, but Carrie could easily appreciate Professor Vedette's attempts on brightening the place up. The Gryffindor had seen a lot worse though, namely in the Dungeons, and she was just about to reassure the Professor with this fact when she mentioned having to give up her foe-glass. Carrie wondered what enemies the teacher could possibly have, but then reasoned that there was always some person out there to fall out with.
The torch positioned on the side wall was flickering eerily, adding to the atmosphere of anticipation. The Professor gestured to a red, velvet seat before her and Carrie casually sat herself down. 'Um, no, I heard that they had had a meeting with you, but I don't know any of the details and what this particularly involves.' She explained, starting to think that perhaps it would have been a good idea to speak to the others.

'It isn't important. I expect it would have only confused you if they were to tell you their personal experience.' she smiled.
Faye raised her wand and gave a sharp slash through the air in front of her. Where her wand had traced, a small trail of pink-grey light had appeared. 'I have been lucky so far to have so few accidents in this classroom,' she suddenly confessed. 'Usually there can be very grave consequences for beginners to go into the Void, and I have been pushing my luck lately.' she reached up with her hand and took hold of one end of the light, which was solid and slightly hot. 'Please take the other end.' she nodded at Carrie. 'Do you know what this is, Carrie?'
