[Quid.Prac] Practice makes you perfect [Slytherin]

This was a fine turn of events. In her wildest dreams Kristiana Thorn never thought she would be made captain of a quidditch team. She played her father made sure of it. Just because he had a girl he was going to make sure she was well versed in the most popular sport in the wizarding world. From the time Kris could pick up a broom her father had her on it. She took to it right away leaning his old moves and tricks even out flying him one day to his delight and surprise. For her 11th birthday she received the finest broom ever made though she wasn't allowed to bring it to school with her.

So when she heard Slytherin house was looking to fill the captains slot for the team she knew she had to try out. Then due to her superior abilities she managed to make the team not to mention become captain. That was due in part to their head of house, she wanted a win for them this tern and who better to do it then Kristiana.

Tonight was going to be her first practice with the rest of her team. Most people probably would have been intimidated for one thing she was a girl, and for the next she beat out a lot of others who wanted that coveted spot. Part of her expected backlash, it had been expected even her father warned her. Kris didn't care never the type to back down she held her head high as she placed the notice on the bulletin board in the common room. They had better show up that's all that mattered.

Grabbing her robes and her broom she walked out of the common room while everyone else was out at breakfast. Of course she knew practice this early wasn't going to please everyone but that was their hang up not hers. They needed time and practicing this early was going to allow them that. This team was going to be a good team the kind of team Slytherin himself would be proud of. The pitch was brightly lit and the sun was shining brightly already. This was excellent since weather conditions for matches weren't always the same they needed to get used to it.

She waited for the first members to show up hoping she wasn't about to wait long.

There was no denying it now Nathan Holloway was officially a member of the house Quidditch team. Of course his family had been extremely proud about this fact and were already boosting about it to all of their relatives and family friends. Nathan however was not as keen as them to share their enthusiasm in fact he could not help but feel less of himself and Evra that they had given in signed up. It was better however then letting the Slytherin house become the laughing stoke of the school as they could not get a full team, at least this way they could try and bring a little bit of class to the proceedings.

It was with this snob like opinion of the game and his fellow team mates that he made his way down to the Quidditch Pitch ready for the first Practise Session. The sun was streaming down over the castle grounds and Nathan had to squint as he looked in the distance towards the Quidditch Pitch. The chances where that as soon as he got on his broom and started to sore in the air with the warmth of the sun on his back even Nathan and his cold heart might manage a smile.

“Thorn.” Nathan greeted the team captain in a placid tone as he made his way on the perfectly cut pitch. The empty Quidditch stands had almost an eerie feel to it as the flags at the top of the covered areas fluttered in the light breeze. “Congratulations for making Captain by the way.” His narrow eyes studied her. “I am sure you are thrilled.”

Quidditch. It is what you make it. For some it is the highlight of their lives, the action, the suspense, the energy. For others, it boring watching a bunch of people throw a ball in the air. For still others, it is a chance to shine, to gain glory, to feel like everyone has their eye on you in a moment of greatness. The later would explain Ava's choice to sign up for the Slytherin Quidditch team. Not only did it raise her to hot status in the school, but it gave a reason for her name to be on the lips of Slytherins through out the school.

Ava walked onto the pitch proudly. Hair pinned in a neat bun on the back of her head, her green sweats covered by her black quidditch robes, her gear held in her hand as she walked, along with her broom. She walked over to her captain, a girl much younger than her. Ava had been a little mad that she had been over looked for the role of captain, but when it came down to it, Ava didn't care that much. It just would have been nice for people to know.

Another Slytherin was already with their leader. Ava made her way toward them. She grinned. "I bet she is." Ava responded to Nathan's question first as she reached the small group. "Kristiana...Holloway." She said, greeting them. "I hope you don't plan keeping us until lunch." Ava said, a little sour she hadn't had time to eat much more than a piece of toast. "I need my carbs." She said, placing her gear on the soft ground by her feet.

The first arrival appeared on the pitch. Kristiana took a good look at her watch, people needed to get their butts there because it was getting late and she wanted to get a move on. This wasn't a good start when only one member had shown up so far. Kris stated to pace waiting for Nathan to reach her. So far she could see that there was one member of the team she could count on though she wasn't sure how she felt about it yet because she didn't know him all that well.

Then as if prompting her to make her decision about him, he made a comment that was supposed to sound sincere but sounded anything but. Kris looked at him, studying him but said nothing because just then another member of the team turned up. This one she didn't mind so much. Actually Kris was glad to have her, another female on the team helped to balance things out nicely.

"Yes yes glad to be captain, who wouldn't be? But we need to get to practicing, have either one of you seen the rest of the team. I did specify a time for goodness sakes. I want us to take the cup this year, I want Gryffindor flattened, steam rolled. I don't intend on keeping you past lunch. I just need the other lazy sods to get out here. I suppose we can start just the three of us for now, do some drills with the quaffle."

Getting the crate with all the balls she opened it watching the bludgers strain against their restraints but she didn't want them just yet she wanted the bludger. Grabbing it she closed the lid, and then looked to the two on the pitch. "OK so you two ready?"
