Before the sun had completely risen, Noah was in the midst of the Forbidden Forest and ankle deep in soggy leaves. His hair, showered with dry twigs and dirt, fell into his eyes and obscured his view, while he did his best to direct himself toward the forest's very core.
The Gryffindor craved spells. Not the kind that involved a flick of his wand, but the type that depended on the slightest movement of all the objects around it. The type of spells that required privacy and silence.
While he could get both those things at various places in the castle, this particular spell also involved an arrangement of ancient rocks--the type one could easily find in a place like the forest. In fact, Noah's eyes were drawn to a dozen, violet stones at that exact moment. They were scattered on the ground in vague patterns, flat and grainy against the moss.
"Perfect." He murmured, running a dirt-streaked palm across his forehead and quickening his pace.

It was Helia's first day as the official Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts. It was also the first day she'd awoken to the forest screaming in her mind : 'Lady Helia! Intruder! A Child! In danger!! She leapt out of bed and threw her sapphire-hued velvet cloak on over her white flannel night gown, barely managed to put a pair of boots on (though they were mismatched) and grab her wand before she bolted out the door.
She ran and ran, her head swimming with the sounds of animals and shrubs and trees freaking out about the child as well as trying to give her directions to find the intruder at the same time. "Shut up, shut up, shut up!" she screamed, panicked that she might lose her job the first day because some idiot student couldn't keep his nose in his own business.
'The path, Lady Helia, follow the path!' 'What path, you infernal shrubs?!' she demanded. 'There...' She whirled around to where the voices felt like they were aiming, and she saw a multitude of snapped twigs and displaced vines and disheveled tree limbs. "Oh... that path..." she was still suspicious, but she couldn't waste time arguing with the voices in her head. She charged forward, following the trail of destruction, hoping she wouldn't show up too late. Finally she broke through to a clearing and she saw it. Down a ravine, some thirty feet away, was a student covered in muck and grime. Above him on a cliff was some... being, or creature, figure, shrouded in thick dark fog, muttering something in low tones. The only way she could tell this was because all the forest around her was trembling in fear, fighting against some power that was attempting to control it.
'What is he doing?' she wondered in her head, not sure whether she was talking about the boy or the... thing. 'You must stop him Lady Helia! Before it's too late!' "Yeah, I get that!" she yelled aloud without thinking. "Aw, snap..." she muttered a little more quietly, wondering if either of the other people in the forest heard her.
