Despite it being October and there being a bitter wind blowing across the open castle grounds Harrison still felt the need to be outside when the sky was blue and the sun was shining high in the sky. His hands where stuffed deep in trouser pockets as his black and red Gryffindor robes billowed around him with every step that he took across the damp grass. Harrison was heading for the lake; in fact he was heading to the boat rank that sat at the far end of the lake. Even at this distance he could see the small brown boats bobbing up and down with current of the dark waters.
The closer he got the faster the memories came flooding back, his nervous first steps into the little wooden boats on his first day at the school, how they glided silently over the water as Hogwarts castle appeared out of the darkness in all its glory. He remembered his eleven year old self swearing loudly and a bossy girl who was sitting next to him on the boat scolded him for using such language. It was clearly a sign of things to come in term of bad language however the difference between young Harrison and the more (and this term is used loosely) mature Harrison was that then he blushed at the sound of a girls voice, now he most likely would have tried flirting with her.
Even now as he stood on the shore line looking at the little boats they did not look very safe, in fact he had no idea how they were staying afloat as one had a hole in…he bloody loved magic! With a small smirk the Gryffindor jumped into one of the many boats and was about to untie the boat and push out with and oar when he saw a familiar figure approach.
“Ahoy there matey!”

Who cared if it was supposed to be cold outside? The sun was shining brightly and it just looked so nice outside. Plus, it wasn’t like she was doing anything else interesting. She was just sitting in the common room, working on some homework that she had gotten from potions. It wasn’t due for a while, but why not get a head start on it? In a true Ravenclaw fashion, she went to the library and collected books based on the subject. She locked herself in her room for the morning, studying like a maniac and trying her hardest to finish the assignment. And now she was almost done and wouldn’t have homework for her weekend! See how well this Ravenclaw planned?
Felicity set down her quill on her desk after she had finished. She rolled up the parchment and ran upstairs to stash it in her room with the rest of her finished homework. She was still in a tank top and shorts, her hair and thankfully dried nicely from her shower this morning. With another glance outside, she decided that she just had to go outside and enjoy this weather. Felicity opened up her trunk and ran her hand lazily through her hair as she surveyed her clothes options. Finally, she decided on a pair of dark skinny jeans and a light blue form-hugging sweater with a V-neck. She slipped on the new necklace her mother had gotten her. It was a simple silver necklace with a bird charm. Ravenclaw pride, woo!
She slipped on her black flats while walking out the door, too eager to actually wait and slip both on without moving. Fay managed to hop down the stairs without falling over—no small feat for this clumsy veela—and waved a quick goodbye to the other Claws still lingering around the common room. She still had her wand tucked behind her ear, put there for safe keeping while she was working on her homework. Felicity had forgotten all about it…until she raced outside and it clattered to the ground in the courtyard. Flustered, she snatched the thing up and slipped it into her pocket. Lucky her wand was sturdy enough to stand being dropped, but could you imagine how devastated she would be if she actually broke it? A scary thought.
Fay decided she wanted to spend her time at the lake. There was this one tree that had the nicest shade and was close enough to the lake that you could see the waves lapping on the shore. She was almost near the spot when she saw the familiar form of Harrison Greg going towards the boat house. Curiously, Felicity followed. Having company was better than just sitting alone, right? Lucky she had long legs to keep up with his stride, otherwise she would lose track of where he was heading. Finally, the boy hopped into one of the boats. What on earth was he planning to do?
Felicity swept some hair behind her ears—curled nicely today because that spell she tried in the morning actually worked—and used the same hand to wave to Harrison. She sped up her pace to meet him.
“Greetings Captain. Permission to board the vessel, sir?” Fay grinned widely, not waiting for his answer before she stepped cautiously into the boat. Felicity used Harrison’s shoulder to steady herself until the boat stopped rocking from her added weight. “What grand adventure are you planning today, Harri? Or rather, Captain?” She said with a smirk, removing her hand from his shoulder and taking a seat on one of the benches.

It had felt like an age since Harrison had last seen Fay, and just hearing her voice brought a smile to the Gryffindor’s face…hadn’t he got over her yet? He was convinced he had, surly that fling with that Hufflepuff had cured himself of his obsession with Fay, after all she was part Veela it must have been her powers over him after all Harrison Greg would never fall in love. What was that old muggle song? L.O.V.E is just another word he would never learn to pronounce…well, that is what he would keep telling himself. The problem was that as Fay walked along the jetty he felt a shiver run down his spine, but then that was the cold wind wasn’t it? Yeah, it was the wind that was making his hair stand on end and it must have been the way the boat was rocking on the lake that made his stomach turn in such a way. There would be logical reasons for everything to explain why his body was reacting in such ways, logical reasons…well as logical as a Gryffindor could think.
Shrugging these thoughts out of his head Harrison gave his Ravenclaw crew mate a quick salute as she climbed onboard, finding himself catching his breath as her hand was gently placed on his shoulder as she used him to steady herself as she stepped onto the boat. “Welcome aboard the wooden crate” Harrison chuckled as his blue eyes looked the Ravenclaw up and down, a cheeky grin filling his face. “The grand adventure Miss Locke is…” He turned to look out over the vast amounts of water and for the briefest of moments Harrison had no idea how to respond. “…to look for treasure me old matey!”
Maybe it was his fake, and frankly terrible pirate accent that made him laugh or maybe it was the look of both of their hair flying all over the place but something had tickled his funny bone and with a rather girlish giggle the Gryffindor reached out, unhooked the rope from the jetty and bend down to throw an oar at Fay counting on her Quidditch skills to help her catch the wooden awe. “You will have to work for your money missey.” Harrison continued to chuckle as he stuck the oar into the water, sat down on the bench and start to row.

Felicity hadn’t seen much of anyone lately. She went on that trip to Spain with her mother because Christi had a good year for candy (or something like that). No, she didn’t get any tanner. No, she didn’t have some sort of vacation fling. Though Spain did hold a large amount of very attractive wizards. Mm. Christi had gone crazy and bought all this random stuff that they didn’t need. Felicity had to convince her to return most of it because frankly, their house couldn’t hold it all. But anyway, that was the major reason why Fay had suddenly disappeared. That, and when she returned she was hounded by her teachers for the homework she missed. And then there were the prefect duties she still had to do…Let’s just say she was busy.
But now, finally, she got a chance to relax. Fay grinned at Harrison as he saluted her, chuckling a bit while she took a seat. “Buried treasure? Wherever are we going to find that?” She raised an eyebrow skeptically, doubting that Hogwarts had any sort of buried treasure. Or if it did, it would be something deadly or creepy. The school seemed to have a way with creepy things. We’re Hogwarts and we like to scare the shizznits out of people! Come join now!
Felicity caught the ore with a little squeak, caught off guard by the movement. “Can’t handle rowing the boat all by yourself, then?” She responded, smirking at his back as she stuck her ore in the water. This would be a good workout for Quidditch, right? Cause honestly, what guy couldn’t resist a girl with beefy arms? Feminine, totally. Not like Felicity wasn’t muscular at all, she was! Obviously Quidditch gave her toned arms and, she was menacing enough to scare off most guys. Speaking of muscular…Her gaze drifted over to Harri, watching as he rowed. His arms worked, making his biceps more noticeable. She blinked and shook her head, focusing back on the water.
“We could probably just enchant this thing but…where’s the fun in that?” She muttered, rolling her eyes. A little hard work never hurt anyone, she supposed. “So, how have you been Harri? Anything interesting happen while I was gone?”

It was a rare thing for Harrison to be doing any sort of hard work outside of class (heck even in class he was not really what you would call a hard worker) so for the Gryffindor to be willingly make an effort and not take the easy way out and use a bit of magic. But in a strange way despite the fact it was making him break into a slight sweat Harrison enjoyed flexing his muscles and showing his strength to Fay, it was a typical macho-man thing to do but then Harri was a very simple minded fool and although he believed in holding doors open for others and letting older people have seats on public transport he also liked to show how much of a man he could be from time to time.
“Of course I could.” Harrison pretended to be affronted by Fay’s accusations of being unable to row himself. “I just wanted to see you break a sweat Miss Locke.” He gave the Ravenclaw a cheeky wink as he put his back into the rowing a bit more to help them move further out into the lake. It was then she muttered about enchanting the boat and the Gryffindor rolled her eyes and almost in a huff to prove her wrong he raised his oar’s out of the water and folded his arms. However when it came to Fay Harri always found it hard to stay mad at her, it was a random relationship…friendship they had. An outsider might not understand how it works, but for them it seemed to work, well at least Harrison thought it had.
“Not much to be honest Fay. My life has been dull without you.” The last part of that statement had carried a little bit more feeling then he had meant, for the first time in a long time Harrison felt exposed and as a result he quickly reverted back to his childish immature self and instead of a wide grin filling his face his eyes widened and his mouth opened as his rose a shaking hand pointing to thin air…put Fay would not know that. “I-it’s the gi-giant squid!”
