If you asked the majority of single people many of them would say how much they longed to be in a relationship, also the same applied or people in a relationship. Although they might say it in a joking manner apart of them knew they could do without the hassle of having another person in their lives. The thing was in day’s past Harrison Greg would always be one of those who said that he liked being single as it gave him the freedom to do what he wanted, when he wanted and not have to worry about anyone else other then him. But now the Gryffindor would be singing a different tune seeing as he had his heart set on a certain Ravenclaw that was not only out of reach but someone he would count as his best friend.
Things between him and Blake recently had not been as jolly as normal, Blake was still sulking slightly over his breakup with Rieko and Harri was being so secretive that even the armour of the jolly knights of Hogwarts castle did not shine as it once had. Even now Blake was out and about somewhere which left the dirty blond haired seventh year by himself, slouched into one of the many sofa’s in the commonroom thinking about what should have been.
Even as the portrait of the fat lady swung open and a gaggle of girls entered Harrison did not turn his head to have a look at the new comers. They could have even slapped him around the head and the chances where he would not notice, honestly Harrison was one step away from dying his hair black, wearing tight skinny jeans and wearing eye liner. He was in the need of a laugh or at least a diversion and the odd thing was that the person who might possibly provide it was not the person that he was expecting.

It had been one of those days. Rie was spending more and more time around her old friends. Her girls. She was never seen walking the halls with Ollie LaRoque anymore and she stayed away from Kieran Davies too. It wasnt widely known that Ollie and Rie hadnt been together for about a month, neither one of them broadcasted it. She knew it would have happened eventually, the way they got together was anything but honest and she knew Ollie only went for her because of the danger, and thats why she was attracted to him and now the danger was over, their relationship lost the spark and they fell apart.
Walking through the portrait hole, Rieko was in the middle of the crowd of giggling girls. She craned her head to see which male had caught their attention this time. Harrison Greg. Rie let out a sigh, sure he was handsome even she wouldnt deny that... but he wasnt all that. Blake was better looking, but she'd never tell Harrison that. In fact, she wouldnt tell Harrison anything, it wasnt as though the two of them were friends, it wasnt as though they even spoke. Both had some kind of unspoken truce whereby they both stay away from one another.
"Rie, come on." Lisa pulled gently on the blonde girls arm. Rie shook her head. "You go on ahead, I'll be up later." Lisa raised an eyebrow, knowing Rie too well and she stood there for a moment. "What are you planning Miss Daniels?" Both girls voices were low, it would be difficult for Harri to hear them. "Nothing!" She answered a bit too quickly. "Oh all right. I'm going to try to put a smile on grumpy butts face." Lisa shrugged and left. For a while Rie just looked at Harri. It was wrong to see him like this, Rie couldnt say she was fond of him afterall she didnt even know him but she didnt like seeing him like this. She wasnt as cold as people thought she was and Harrison looked like he'd either been slapped or had his favourite toy taken away, or both.
Smiling to herself, she slowly began to change into her small tiger cub form. The fluffy white animal stood in the shadows, looking at Harri with its yellow eyes. How am I going to do this without getting killed? She thought to herself, scratching the floor gently, getting the feel for it underneath her paws. Fast... just go fast. Annnd she was off, running speedily across the common room, she ran around the couch, jumped up on Harri's lap. Her mouth turned up in a grin showing her baby fanged teeth. Then just as quickly her large paws left his lap and fell on his head before she jumped off again, ran to his shoulder, licked the side of his face and she made sure it was a sloppy went one and went, "Rawrrrrr" Down his ear, it wasnt loud, the sound a baby tiger makes.
Just as quickly she lept off the back of the sofa and ran into the shadows and changed back to her human form. She took a step out of the shadows, her arms crossed and her mouth turned up in a smile, fighting the urge to laugh. I wonder how much trouble I'm in. She thought amused to herself.

Harrison knew it was wrong to be scheming ways of stealing Fay away from his secret rival Kieran. Not only where the plan’s ridiculously stupid but also he knew deep down inside that there was no way that Fay would cheat, let alone leave Kieran. She just was not like that and the thought of putting her in a situation where she would have to make that choice…well Harrison could not bring himself to do that and cause her pain. She the poor Gryffindor was stuck between a rock and a hard place and so it was no surprise that his blue eyes were glazed over as he started at a stain on the floor of the commonroom. He did not even notice that with the pack of girls in the room the commonroom was briefly busy but now it was empty with just him, or at least so he thought but apparently there was a small white tiger cub that wanted to play.
The first time Harrison realised this was when the white fur ball was leapt up at him! He had no idea why it did that but one thing was for sure, it had woken him out of his little pit of depression. With a rather high-pitched yelp his eyes were now fixed upon the teeth baring face of the cub, he was convinced it was grinning at him…but that was stupid right, tigers did not grin they just bit. Sinking into the sofa in a vain attempt to escape Harrison did not blink as he watched as it leapt up off his lap onto his head, down onto his shoulder and then. “YOU LICKED MA FACE!” He shouted at the small animal just before it playfully rawred down his ear.
Before he could even try and grasp it by the scruff of its neck the tiger had jumped off the back of the couch. Well Harrison was not going to stand for that and scrambling up the Gryffindor went to jump over the back of the sofa to chase after the bloody animal when suddenly he saw Rieko move out of the shadows. It was comical really how something as stupid as that took the Gryffindor by surprise and with a small “whoops” Harrison lost his footing and not very gracefully landed on the floor in a small heap. It was too late for trying to save face now, he could feel his cheeks growing slightly warm as blood rushed to them turning them a faint shade of red beneath his thick layer of stubble.
With a small groan Harrison rolled onto his back and looked up at the blond haired Gryffindor, the person who had caused his best friend to act like an emo with a broken heart. “Did your mother never teach you to not linger in the shadows Rieko? Or is this a new habit you have picked up as you hang around on street corners at night?”

The small tiger was too fast for Harrison as it leapt off the back of the couch and skidded into the shadows where it reverted back to the human form of Rieko Daniels. Her eyes watched as Harrison scrambled over the back of the chair to chase after the white fluffy animal. She moved out of the shadow, her eyes amused as she took him by surprise. He ended up on a heap on the floor, face flushing red and Rieko couldnt contain the laughter rising in her throat.
She folded her arms and looked down at the self-proclaimed popular boy of Hogwarts. She raised an eyebrow as he spoke. When he finished her face flushed angrily, you know you try to help someone and they end up throwing it back in your face. "I should have bitten you hard." She spat, her eyes narrowing dangerously. This wasnt going the way she wanted. She was looking at him, she had a million snappy retorts on the end of her tongue and it took all of her will power not to say any of them.
"Come on, get up." She held out her hand for him, she knew the look on his face all too well. It was the look of loss, he'd lost someone who was close to him, maybe someone who he loved. She was good at reading people but she was also very good at minding her own business, she never pryed into other peoples business and for the most part, people loved her for it. "You cant stay down there, small white and fluffy might return and jump on you again if you do."
She gave him a warm smile, honestly she felt sorry for him. He'd suffered a lot and some of it was probably because of her. You know, with the whole Blake situation. Ollie was probably down at the pitch with Kieran, Fay was probably with them. Rieko was fine with that, she secretely wanted Ollie on the other side of the world from her, things were just too awkward right now. "I cant believe you said I stand on street corners. Even I have some self respect." It had actually hurt, well stung, but she couldnt change his opinion of her and honestly, she didnt even want to try.

I think most people knew that there was some sort of rift between the older Gryffindors and almost as if it was out of some cheap teenage fiction it was all caused by the worn out story of boys liking girls but girls liking other boys. It may have been a worn out story but it always was replayed over and over; it seemed that generation after generation failed to learn from their elders…or was that just the whole fun of being young and naive? It was a good thing really that the Gryffindor commonroom was empty as the bitter words that were being bashed between the two of them were not endearing. But then saying that the looks that they were giving each other said spoke volumes, more then anything snide comments could make.
But then maybe this was what distinguished Gryffindor’s from Slytherin’s. Despite the clear look on both of their faces and the tense atmosphere in the tower Rieko still held out her hand and offered advised Harrison to stand up. The smile that followed made sure that no frown was present on the boys face and he found a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Thanks.” He mumbled as he took hold of her hand to help himself back on his feet, heck if Rieko was offering kindness who was he to shun it away?
“Yeah well…” Harrison seemed lost for words as he tried to make sense of the situation, clearly if she commented that she should have bitten him harder…and she was the only other person in the commonroom…was she that white tiger cub? His mind was buzzing with possibilities and for once going with his gut instinct Harrison came up with the only come back that he could think of. “…well you licked my face.”
His right hand flew up to point to his glistening cheek that now had the added accessories of dirt and fluff from the commonroom floor. He knew that his comment about Rieko being a common prostitute on the street corner was a bit harsh but seeing as how she cheated on his best mate for someone else only for that to go pear shaped did not really endear her to him. “If it helps I am sure your one of the more high class ladies of the night. Bet you charge at least 3 Gallons.” He tried to offer her a cheeky smile to prove he was jesting, heck he could do with some light hearted banter right now to help him forget the dull ache that just seemed to linger in his heart these days. “Is Max your pim- er I mean manger?”

"You're welcome." Rieko spoke as she pulled the Gryffindor to his feet. Although as soon as he was up she removed her hand and shoved it into her jacket pocket. For a moment she felt a little awkward, here she was in the middle of the common room with a guy who pretty much despised the ground she walked on. Awkward. Yet, she had tried to cheer him up, that had to count for bonus points didnt it? Or maybe she was hoping too much. Well, she didnt care much either way, it had happened and she was dealing with it whereas he... it wasnt even his business and he acted as though she'd cheated on him!
"Yeah I did and for a moment you were back to your old self." Her voice was matter of fact but she saw as his face fell back into the same darkness it was before. "And if you dont stop sulking you're going to find you have a small, white, fluffy tiger following you everywhere until you finally snap out of this. It's disturbing to see you like this. You're losing your touch Greg." It was a threat but she would follow it through, and if Harri knew anything about her, he'd know she would do it if he didnt get his face sorted out.
She watched as his hand flew up to his cheek and she made a slurping sound. You know, Rieko honestly didnt care what people thought about her. However, the stab about being a prostitute hit a nerve, it was taking all of her self control not to snap at him and she didnt think she would be able to last much longer. She walked from where she was over to the window and threw it open violently. She had half a mind to just let him sit here and sulk but that never did anyone any good. "No, Max isnt my pimp. I work alone" She turned with a smile on her face, "Why? Are you offering to be my pimp Mr Greg? You'll get a percentage of what I make."

Oh lord, was his patheticness really that obvious? Had even Rieko noticed his drop in his normal boyish charm and arrogant persona? Swallowing down a lump in his throat the proud Gryffindor looked on at the beautiful blond (yes he was willing to admit she was good looking despite the fact she was an evil cow) as she carried out a threat that he could not help but get the feeling would come true if he did indeed fall back into this pit of darkness that seemed to be his favourite resting place of present. “Well I will try and keep that smile on just for you.” A small timid grin crept onto is features as he tried to bottle down all those emotions and to be his old self, sadly that task was not as easy as he hoped it would be.
Of course this was helped with the witty banter that always seemed to occur between the two of them, it must have had something to do with the secret…well not so secret loathing that the two had for each other. A small jab or insult would easily be batted away by the other and the game of verbal tennis begins and it normally ended with them both laughing about one thing or another, maybe in another life the two of them could have been friends…pffft.
Yet it seemed that his little jibe about her being a prostitute had gone a step too far as Reiko stormed off and at first he thought she was going to leave him alone in the commonroom but alas she just walked over to the window and viciously threw it open. Straight away the cold autumn chill blew in through the window causing lose papers on a near by table to float away. But it seemed that the wind has blown away any bad mood that Reiko was in as she turned around with that cute little smile of hers… ‘WHOA! Greg, snap out of it!!’
“I could offer my services.” He jested, walking over in the direction his fellow Gryffindor has headed, and perching on the end of an arm of one of the many sofas’s and grinned over at Rie. “I do have connections and have the charisma that is needed for a successful pimp. I could get you high quality customers Miss Daniels. The money means nothing to me, only your safety and well being. There are some creepy characters out there.”
Is someone walked in the commonroom right now they would be hearing the most random of conversations and not understand why they were both grinning like maniacs. “You would of course have to write a list of all the men who you have already been with, do not want to repeat custom.” He gave Rieko a cheeky wink. “Should I get a large roll of parchment and we shall get going?”
