Ashton spoke up from his usual corner in the back of the room. "Well, there's a reason for that. It's the law. Just like we have laws, the Muggles have laws. And just like in the wizarding world, if a Muggle breaks a law, they're going to be punished for it. But buses are good for mass transportation. Just because something isn't magic doesn't mean it's inferior. I mean, I live in the Muggle world, and I do okay."

Maria stepped into the room very late. She hadn't realized exactly how late she was. If she had she wouldn't have even bothered coming. Muggle Studies wasn't exactly one of her important class. It was pretty much just a waste of her time. When she entered it appeared that they were talking about buses or something. Maria wrinkled her nose at the smell of the classroom. Maybe, she would have been better off not having come.
Her eyes quickly scanned the room as she tried to decide where to sit. Noticing a Slytherin boy, who she had met once before, she walked over and sat down beside him. She thought his name was Shay, but she wasn't sure. All she remembered was the cute boy she had met in the corridor one morning. It didn't matter anyway, she probably wouldn't be talking to him.

Her eyes still had sleep in them as she tried to ready herself for the day. The hour ungodly as she tripped on her dorm mates shoes. Refraining from using the curse word she so desperately wanted to utter Alexis simply finished dressing as quickly as possible in order to make it to muggle studies class on time or as on time as she could be. Wiping her eyes she ran out of the room trying not to break her neck as she rushed through the halls.
Minutes passed by when the door to the room finally came into view walking in she found herself a seat in the back. Not bothering to look around just so that she didn't draw too much attention to herself. Sitting down she took out her paper and writing utensils.
The conversation seemed to be on buses, Alexis enjoyed buses all the stops they made, it was a great way to see a city, at least in her opinion. Perhaps their discussion had something to do with muggle transportation. They did have the most ingenious ways of getting around without magic. [/size]

A familar voice sounded from the back of the room - Ashton, a fellow Ravenclaw and sixth year.
'Who said anything about it being inferior?' Effie asked, eyebrow raised with a half smile. Having words put into her mouth always amused her. 'In fact, I think it's brilliant what muggles have achieved without magic. The intelligence it takes to come up with the complexity in their inventions is impressive to even to the brainiest of wizards.'
Though she had been jesting with the comment on beds and arm chairs, she still thought there must be a better way of doing things than changing lights. The Ravenclaw turned back around to look at the front of the class, a faint smile still apparent on her expression.

One thing he'd been told time and time again by his parents was 'don't be late for lessons!' He'd really done his best but it really wasn't his fault that the castle was so huge, it was incrediblym easy to get lost. Usually he set off early for a lesson but today his alarm hadn't even gone off maybe someone had tampered with it as a joke, but he didn't find it funny. Normally he'd go along with Alice to a lesson; she tended to know her way around better somehow, maybe she just remembered things easier.
So little Sam finally found his way, he felt like he'd been running all around the school, but luck had been with him as he actually found the classroom pretty quick in the end. So knocking lightly he darted inside, careful not to stroll along but not seem too hasty and nervous either. His darting eyes looking all about really ruined the effect though as he strove to find Alice, seeing his friend he dived into the adjacent seat. Looking up with avid interest written upon his small features he smiled nervously sorely hoping he wouldn't get a scolding.
Deciding he might not get a telling off if he answered a question correctly he plucked up his courage lifting a hesitant hand and saying, "she's right ya know, I've seen a Aston Martin engine, that's right complex, me dad works at a garage ya see, so I've seen all sorts, what d'ya wanna know?" He trailed off near the end but one of his dad's most important lessons had been to open his mouth, even if tripe came out, he'd get nowhere if he didn't speak out, so Sam thought he'd give it a try. But already he was wondering if he shouln't have kept his little trap firmly shut, what if you had to wait before you could speak? Maybe first years weren't allowed to? What if he had spouted out absoute rubbish? People would think him stupid, even Alice might think him an idiot, now he really was wishing he'd kept quiet.

No one noticed Alexine, she sat in the front with no one beside her. Muggle studies was the easiest class for her. She grown up in the muggle world. Her father is a wizard but her mother is a proud muggle. Alexine raised her hand with all five fingers stretched. So everyone could notice that Alexine finally could say anything. She looked at little Sam who had said something quite interesting. Alexine started to speak with a soft squeeking voice.'I've seen people on that weird things called, tractors they were working on the land a kind of weird machine was attached to it.The machine was doing something with the earth. After she said it she felt pretty stupid. She went off topic and who cared about weird machine where people were 'doing the earth' with.

Shay's eyes followed the professor until he was at the board, pretending to be listening to his little lecture about Muggles being the root of things. Shaking his head, he crossed his arms, and sighed. Why had he bothered to come to class? He rarely went to his classes in the first place, why start now? Keeping his eyes glued on the board, as if to pay attention, Shafer saw someone sit next to him out of the corner of his eye. Turning his head slightly, he noticed it was a girl, whom he recognized from a corridor incident. Marie? Maria? Something with 'M', he recalled. Smiling, he turned his head back to the board, attempting to look as interested as possible.

At least this was one class that Kendall did hate so much Muggle Studies was a soft option yes but it hey at least she didn't have to worry about failing. This was the one class that she didn't have to worry too much about. So when she entered the room it wasn't with the same air of worry she usually wore whenever she entered another class room. Finding a seat next to a Ravenclaw girl she took her thing out of her bag.
Some other students had already began answering the professors questions, Kendal decided not to interject at least not just yet she wanted to get acquainted with the subject at hand. Taking the back of her quill she stuck it in her mouth, a bad habit really but one she was accustomed to.

Maeve walked in a tad late, as normal for her. She looked up at the professor and said, "Sorry, Professor Fagin. Promise I won't be late next time." Hm... Did she mean it? Maybe, maybe not.
Taking an empty seat near the front of the classroom and looked at the board. Transportation. Easy. She had just made it in to hear Ashton talk and anyone after that, so she said, "It's fun to drive one of their cars." Not even raising her hand, she conitnued. "There is a law saying you need a liscense to drive one, though. I went out and took their test to get one." she stood up and reached into her skirt pocket to pull out a piece of plastic. "And I passed." she sat down and twirled her driver's liscense between her fingers. "I about got pulled over for not going the speed limit. I flew faster when I was four on my first broom then they allow you to drive on their roads, but it's still a lot of fun."

The sound of Fagin's voice was heard in the hallway as Ellie scurried along. Not having a watch, and not paying attention to the time, she had no idea that she was running just a minute behind schedule. However, she had no experience with Professor Fagin before, besides witness him yell a Ravenclaw to tears her first year. Since then, she hadn't crossed his path, or rather he hadn't crossed hers. Nevertheless, she had heard from other students that his class where, to say the least, entertaining. So, in an effort to fill her schedule, she had signed up for her first muggle studies course.
Dressed in her uniform robe and skirt, she walked silently through the door as he conversed with another student. The conversation was more of Fagin yelling, but it seemed like a conversation the old man had a reputation for. Ellie took out a quill, and rustled some parchment as she place it on her desk, smoothing it out. Another day, another class. Ellie pinned her long brown hair out of her face, and concentrated on what Fagin was saying...yelling.
However the lesson started, and a couple of later-er comers joined the group. Ellie listened to all the students. She had seen muggles of course, she had even lived among them, but that was in the middle of Africa. They didn't have many cars and no trains, buses, or airplanes she ever saw. She raised her hand. "I know how to ride a bike!" she said, though she wasn't sure it was a mood of transportation. It was just a fun hobby her dad had taught her.

She was there but sometimes she wasn't even sure why. School sometimes didn't hold her interest anymore. The real world was calling her and she was ready for it, but she was being forced to finish out her term. Her parents wouldn't hear of it, their daughter a seventh year Prefect wasn't going to leave the school. Her mother's firm face and set jaw made short work of Ginny's wishes. So there she was in her muggle studies classroom listening to talk of muggle transportation. It made her laugh because she knew of one person who would find that subject most fascinating. She thought anything about muggles was most fascinating.
Ginny listened while some of the other students answered, she didn't bother writing things down because she knew someone else who was just as fond of anything muggle and she pretty much knew all about buses, planes, trains, automobiles, rocket ships, etc. etc. Turning her writing utensil over and over in her hand trying to focus but finding it very hard.
