"GIVE IT BACK!" "teeheeheheeee" "I swear, I'll get you, you can't do this to me!" "teeeheeeheheeee" "Peeves I will simply kill you." "TOO LATE! BAHAHAHA" "AHHHHH!"
Maggie stomped her foot as she scream up at the corner of the ceiling. Peeves had stolen her whole backpack and now she was late for Potions. Professor Vaid was going to kill her. "Peeves! GIVE IT BACK!" She screamed again, getting nothing in response but more annoying laughter.
"Have to come up and get it." Peeves said as he flew to the top of a large chest of drawers in the hallway. He sat with his opaque feet hanging over the edge, left hand reached out holding the backpack over the drop.
"NOOO! Don't drop it! My wand is in there!" Maggie said urgently thinking that her beloved new wand would be smash to nothing from that height. Maggie looked up and down the hall, hoping to get the help of someone. However, the halls had become empty. She saw someone walking toward her in the distance. "HEY YOU!" Maggie called. "YAH! YOU! Come here and help me."

Ash sighed as he heard a commotion in the corridors outside his office. Of course having spent nearly four years here, he was used to it. But still, was a little peace and quiet for once too much to ask? The young teacher groaned as the commotion grew louder. Apparently it was too much to ask. Ah well, might as well see what was going on this time.
Ash set down the book he had been attempting- keyword there being attempting- to read and went to see what all the noise was about this time. Looking down the corridor he saw what looked to be a first year, maybe second year and...surprise, surprise, Peeves. Of course. It was always Peeves. Honestly, that thing was a menace. This time Peeves had snatched the poor girl's bag and was dangling it from a rather high chest of drawers. It appeared that he was getting ready to drop it.
Ash heard the girl plead with the annoying poltergeist to not drop the bag because her wand was in it. Then, the girl turned and apparently saw him because she begged, or...demanded rather, that he help her. Hmm, bossy little thing wasn't she? Oh well, she was in a rather dire situation.
Narrowing his eyes, Ash glared up at Peeves. "Peeves! Give that bag back to her right now!"
Peeves merely cackled, "Come and get it" he said in a sing-song voice.
Ash glared again and growled in frustration. "Don't make me send for the Bloody Baron" he threatened.
That did the trick. Peeved scowled and dropped the bag, Ash just barely caught it before the annoying nuisance known as Peeves the Poltergeist zoomed off. Ash turned to the girl with a smile and held out her bag. "There you go"

Maggie posted her hands on her hips in defiance. As much shouting and screaming she had down, her golden curls were still perfectly in place like a little halo around her head. Her face was slightly pink, but nothing compared to the red it shouldn't have been with all that screaming.
The person she had promptly beckoned to her side was walking down the hall way. "Well hurry up then." Maggie said, tapping her foot on the stone ground with a pat! pat! pat! She turned to glare back at Peeves. "You're in for it now." She smiled with a adorable smirk. An older student or rather young professor was now at her said. "Well, make him give it back!" Maggie said to him, stamping her foot.
Well the first try wasn't any better then Maggie's attempts. Maggie rolled her eyes, apparently this guy was daft. If Peeve was able to resist Maggie's screaming and whining, then a little emphasis on the word now wasn't going to get him to change him mind. "Glad that worked." Maggie said under her breath as she moved her hands from her hips to the crossed position. She was getting impatient.
With a groan and a threat that Maggie didn't understand, Peeve's relinquished the bag without another word and flew off down the hall with a frightened squeel. Maggie was confused. "Hey, how'd you do that?" She said, grabbing her bag and swinging it onto her back."I wanna know how."

Ash resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Apparently manners were not this girl's strong point. Something that would have to addressed in the near future. The very near future. Instead he just gave a small shrug. "Just threaten him with the Bloody Baron. The Bloody Baron is the only ghost or... person rather, dead or alive, that Peeves is afraid of." he said this as if it were common knowledge. Which, if you thought about it; it was. Seriously, where had this girl been all her life? Even when Ash transferred here to Hogwarts in his fifth year, he'd known all about the castles's ghosts.
But of course being the Ravenclaw he was, Ash had read about the history of Hogwarts and it's inhabitants. Plus when you spend nearly four years in a place you get used to annoying little menaces like Peeves.
"So if Peeves gives you anymore trouble which trust me, he will. Just say you're going to send for the Bloody Baron. That usually gets him to stop whatever he's doing." Ash said to the girl once more.

The bloody baron. Maggie thought that he must be a very menacing figure for Peeves to be afraid of him. Maggie thought she would like to meet this ghost. She had already met Nearly Headless Nick, and Maggie hadn't made the best impression on him. She had asked him if they had messed up cutting his head off or if he had chickened out half way through. The ghost now ran straight through her every time her walked by creating a cold breeze to blow through her body.
"Gee, I hate not knowing a bunch of stuff." Maggie said to the guy in front of her. "Like how to get rid of Peeves, or how to get back to my common room. Did you know there is a secret passageway down the hall to the right, I learned if from a fifth year who just wanted me to stop following him, but I was only following him until he went back to the common room because he wouldn't tell me how to get back..." Maggie went on a ramble. "I think what got him mad was that every once in a while I would get really close to him and kick in in the back of the leg. I made him trip once, but he told me where the secret passageway was, but a prefect yelled at me for going in it and I told him to go take a flying leap and then I ran down the passageway, and come to find out, I was right next to my common room from the start. I wish I knew stuff like that."
"Whats your name?" Maggie said, forgetting that she had class, forgetting what she was just talking about, and forgetting that she was talking to a stranger.

Ash raised an eyebrow as the girl started rambling. He prayed to Merlin that she wasn't planning on taking Muggle Studies. Normally he liked the first years, but he hadn't even spent ten minutes with this one and she was already giving him a headache!
"First off, I'd be mad too if someone kept running up behind me and kicking me. Second, it would've been much easier and less time consuming to just ask someone, an older student or a teacher, how to get back to your common room. And third, my name is Ashton. Ashton Laurent. I'm the Muggle Studies professor."
Ash was just about to ask the girl if she was late for class, which she probably was, when Peeves came back. Ash groaned in frustration. "Do you not have anything better to do?" he snapped at the poltergeist. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair muttering a few choice words under his breath. In French of course. When Ash was irritated like he was now, his French heritage made itself known. Ahh well. It was useful when he didn't want people to understand what he was saying.

Maggie wasn't liking this guy so far. Sure, he had gotten her backpack back, but Maggie was sure that she would have eventually won without his help. It was just faster that way. But now, he seemed to be scolding her. Maggie again put her hands on her hips. "But I did ask!" She said interrupting him, but he continued. "You're a professor?" Maggie said disbelieving. "You look like your twelve." She said with a grin.
"I don't think I'd like muggle studies," Maggie said gearing up for another rant, but then she saw Peeve coming back down the hall. "Stay away from me you stupid ghost!" Maggie yelled at him, swing her backpack at him as if he was a fly, as if when it hit him it would do any good.
Maggie heard some strange language coming from the Professor's mouth. She pouted. "What did you say? It sounds like you have rocks in your mouth." She said making sure she had Peeves in her view. "Does speaking to Peeve in jibberish also make him go away, cause he's still here so you're not doing very well." Maggie saw that Peeves was again sitting on the cabinet in the hall, grinning at her. He was planning his next attack on the little girl. He found it absolutely hilarious how she made such a scene. Peeves only wished there was more people to see it happen.

Dan’s mother had always said that if you did not learn something new every day then you most likely had just been sitting in bed all day staring at the ceiling. Dan had tried this theory out one day when he had a slight hangover and despite trying to prove his mothers theory wrong he did in fact learn nothing at all. But why including all this rambling? Well for once Dan had been studying in the library, and all because of a tale he heard in the pub the night before. He had spend all day reading through ‘Hogwarts: A History’ and books about Voldermort’s rise to power, it seemed all very dark but if they stories where true then the headmaster of Hogwarts would have a lot more on his plate…not what he needed!
His studying had been rudely interrupted when his stomach had growled loudly at him giving him a clear indication to stop his pointless searching and to go and eat some dinner. As a result the headmaster was slowly making his way through the corridors of the castle when he saw Peeves sitting on top of a cabinet laughing at something.
“Oh, what’s occurring Peeves?” Dan asked the poltergeist, a small brow crinkling across the headmaster’s brow. “Hubble Bubble does not know thehehehe!” “Will Peeves tell Hubble Bubble?” “Thehehehe!”
Well he was no use, but then when was he ever? With a small sigh Dan rolled his eyes at the laughing ghost and wondered off down the corridor only to come across what Peeves was clearly laughing at. A first year Gryffindor seemed to be standing up and challenging Professor Laurent and Dan could not help but snigger ever so slightly. “I think Miss May he is talking French.”
Dan placed his hands into his trouser pockets and rocked backwards and forth on his heels like a small child who knew something no one else did. Oh Dan loved his jobs sometimes. “However it begs the question what you have done to wind him up, Professor Emo…er…Laurent looks rather frustrated.”
It might not have been professional of him to be saying this in front of a student but Dan knew Ashton would take it in good spirit and besides, the cheeky grin that filled the Headmasters face proved he meant no offence by such accusations.

Ash was just about to answer the girl when another voice cut in. He rolled his eyes as Dan Hubbles once again started to call him 'Emo boy' but luckily it was replaced with Laurent. "I'll get you for that. Old man." he muttered, glaring at Dan. He smirked when he called the Headmaster 'Old man'.
He sighed and relayed what had happened. "Peeves had her bag and of course would not give it back to her. So, I threatened him with the Bloody Baron and that did the trick. Except now he's back to annoy us some more. I swear he has nothing better to do." Then it hit Ash that he'd never recived a thank you. "I'm still waiting on a thank you by the way... and for your information Miss May I am nineteen."
Honestly, the girl was getting on his nerves. He sent Dan a silent look.. 'Please don't put her in my class anytime soon. In fact, I'd prefer it if she wasn't there at all'

Sarie was bored, now scratch that she was very bored. She hopped up from her bed setting down her Muggle Studies book. She threw on her over robe and headed down in to the common room hoping to find someone to talk too. Sadly there wasn't they all seemed busy with stuff. She got a wave and a hi but most where studying from something or another.
She headed out the into the hall way. She headed down her favorite secret stair case. She knew it wasn't really a secret everyone in thrid year and above knew about it. It was nice to see a first year jump when you came out of nowhere.
When she came out she found a first year... but not just a first year. Ashton was there along with the Headmaster. Sarie was a little uncomfortable with the headmaster right now. There had been a bit of trouble between the two of them but she hoped he had forgotten by now.
She wasn't scared of the headmaster, but she did disagree on sum topics but she could hold her tongue on those. She like him a lot but he acted very strange sometimes and sometimes it wasn't a good thing.
She noticed Ashton was flustered and wonder why. He the headmaster where on good terms so it must have to do with the first year but she didn't know why. She came over not even sure that she had been noticed till she saw Peeves floating in the air.
“Ohh it's the bitty Thimble, she lookly like a firsty but really an oldly...” Peeves said that every time he saw her. She sighed she knew she looked like a first year but did everyone have to point it out to her...
“Quiet Peeves,” Sarie said while shaking her head.
“But your so bitty Thimble... like a thimble so small. Bitty Thimble, ittle bitty Thimble, bitty Thimble
She had must worst from her cousins at home. Peeves never really made her upset but he did get on her nevus. She wondered what the headmaster would do if she put a silencing charm on him. She decided if he said bitty Thimble one more time she was going to do it anyway.
“Peeves I'm warning you.”
“Bitty Thimble!” Sarie could no longer take it. She pulled out her wand in one fluid motion form her pocket and aimed it right at the poltergeist.
“Silencio!” She put her wand away. “Sorry about that I lost my temper there for a second.”

Peeves was eying Maggie strangely so she stuck out her tongue at him which only made him laugh hysterically kicking his ghoulish legs against the cabinent. As Peeves laughed, Maggie noticed another man coming down the hallway. She recognized him as the Headmaster, but did not know much more about him. Maggie wasn't sure how to take the Headmaster yet, so bold as ever she proceeded.
"French? Sounded like marbles in his mouth." Maggie said, telling the god's honest truth. "Well! I think..." Maggie started to answer the Headmaster's question before Professor Laurent had a chance to open his mouth. "I think it was because he threatened him to get the Baron of Bloody? Bloody Knight? Something like that, and I don't think Peeves liked that." Maggie said to the Headmaster, telling him her side of the story. "You see I was just minding my own business when I heard someone laughing from behind me and I got very scared because I thought it might be a monster and then it hit me in the back of the head with its long tentacle... oh wait, that was yesterday at the lake..." Maggie smiled sweetly as Professor Laurent took over the story.
"Well thank you for getting my bag back, but no thank you for just agitating him and honestly Professor, you don't look like a Professor. My mom says that thats a compliment, when you tell someone they look young. She says it makes them feel young and then they look in the mirror and pour a glass of wine way before dinner. So your welcome for the compliment." Maggie said just as another person walked up to the group, seemingly coming from the walls. "See she knows about the secret way too!" Maggie said turning to Professor Laurent, referring to their previous conversation, which was actually just Maggie talking.
Maggie knew Sarie just from being around the Gryffindor tower. Maggie didn't realize that Sarie didn't know who she was, but then again Maggie figure that everyone should know who she was by now. After all she had been at Hogwarts three months.
As soon as Sarie got closer to them, Peeves started in on her. Maggie watched wondering what else Peeves had up his opaque sleeves. It seemed that Peeves words were just bouncing off Sarie, when she saw the girl raise her wand and shoot a spell toward Peeves.
"Woah!" Maggie said her eye widening. "Hey Professor Laurent, why didn't you just do that and save us a lot of trouble." Maggie turned to Sarie. "I don't think you're supposed to do magic in the hallways." Maggie, miss know-it-all said, even though she was in the presence of a Professor and the Headmaster, and if Sarie was going to get in trouble, she was in front of the correct group without the first year ratting on her.

Sarie looked at the first year. Sarie had no clue who she was, she hadn't really seen her around. She was right Sarie shouldn't use magic in the hallways. She knew points would be taken off but Peeves just pushed her to hard. She hadn't been sleeping well.
"You are right your not suppose to but like I said I lost my temper." She looked at the headmaster wondering if he was going to say something. Sarie was usually the quiet and shy one not the type to usually get angry. He had seen the other side of her as well the stubborn side. Ashton hadn't even seen her like that and he knew her better than the headmaster. "I wasn't thinking. What is your name?"
Sarie wondered how long this girl had been at Hogwarts. She have heard of her from her fellow Gryffindores. She knew this girl was the type to leave an impression. She heard Ashton muttering in French she had never heard him do that before. Hubbles had mentioned that he usually did it when he was upset, which wouldn't surprise Sarie she had only seen him really upset once. It was in her second year when they met and Ashton wasn't really aware of what was happening.
"Sorry about the spell Professors." She didn't really know who to apologize to. She felt something smack her on the head. Peeves had had the nerve to hit her with own book bag. She closed her eyes and counted to ten. She didn't need to lose anymore points.

In Dan’s experience there where two different kinds of first years, those who were scared and stuck to the shadows and then those who dived head first into it with the confidence of a seventh year, Maggie was clearly the latter. He listened with a bemused smile on his face as she explained the situation and then Ashton continued the tale like the perfect double act and not that Dan would ever say it out loud but it all seemed a little over the top for him. It seemed his fellow Professor was getting a little irate over nothing while he guessed the first year was still a little bit in awe of the wonders of the castle and its inhabitants. It was then when Ashton shot Dan a pleading look and a small smirk crept on to the headmasters face.
“I think Miss May,” Dan put a protective hand on the Gryffindor’s shoulder as he looked directly at Ashton. “that you should join in with Professor Launrent’s lesson. I think Muggle Studies is something everyone should do.”
Dan really did love the power he had as headmaster sometimes! There were many disadvantages of being headmaster also but he knew how to have fun when the opportunity came along. It was only at the sound of the little first year explaining about someone else joining the group that Dan zoned back into the corridor and looked down at Sarie guessing it would have been her; the poor Gryffindor seemed to have trouble following her around like a bad stink.
“It’s alright Miss Thimble, that blasted ghost deserves it, ah.” It seemed almost as Dan said it Peeves floated through the wall and using her bad hit the Gryffindor on the head. This is when the headmaster was torn. The immature child in him wanted to point and snigger but he knew he should be the responsible one and sighing Dan pulled out his wand and with a flick the poltergeist froze in mid-air with a confused look upon his face. “Now Peeves.” Dan’s voice was deep and demanding. “I think you need to leave the students alone, I have the power to banish you from the school, don’t make.”
His stern face melted away into a crinkled smile as he turned back to the other members of the ever growing party. “I think I will leave him there like that. What do you guys think?”

Sarie had finished counting to ten. Then she felt better an burst out laughing. She was glad that Hubbles had seemed to let go of what had happened. She felt better now. "I think that's a good idea Professor."
Sarie still wondered about the first year. She had heard Hubbles say she could take Muggle Studies, she didn't think Ashton wanted her to. She though it was strange to be talking about the class when she had just left her book sitting on the bed. She was rereading the part about the French Revolution, she didn't really want to but she wasn't really clear on why they beheaded their queen and king. Well she did now... She shuddered when the though about it.
"Ash... um I mean Professor Laurent, could I come by later I have a few questions I have to ask you."

"Really!!" Maggie said happily to the Headmaster. "I really do love learning. My mom always says I'm like a sponge, but a drippy sponge that drips everywhere. But I think she means that I'm smart. You would like having me in your class Frenchy. What would we learn about? I always thought muggle were funny. My Mum used to have a set of muggle scissors, I don't know what they are for, but she used to throw them at my Pop a lot. It used to make him run away. Are scissors supposed to be scary? They don't look scary?" Maggie had gone off again. "I know I have some muggle blood somewhere in me, but we don't talk about it very much. My Pop used to say that my Grandma got around alot, but I don't know why traveling is so bad. I've always wanted to go to Italy, but we've never gone, or China, they have funny hats." Maggie continued.
Maggie was rocking back and forth, changing the weight from her left foot to her right foot. She was gaining energy. The little girl was still a little girl, hyper as anything, accept the difference between Maggie and other little girls was the Maggie didn't need a bit of chocolate or sugar to get hyper, it just happened. She gained energy based on her surroundings, and nothing made Maggie more hyper then a captive audience watching her and listening to her.
"You're really not going to punish her." Maggie said, a little disappointed that she didn't see a disciplinary scene. "I mean she did break the rules, but after all she is in my house, and I guess its a good thin you didn't take any house points away, but if you wanted to give her detention then I wouldn't be affected so you would just be punishing her, not me, cause I didn't do anything wrong. I was being harassed, by him! You should take points away from his house!" Maggie said pointing to Peeves.
"Wow," Maggie said, gleaming at the Headmaster after he had reprimanded Peeves. "You're great." her eyes got wide. "Are you married?"
