With a sigh, Bradyn yanked as hard as he could on the mandrake and winced. Obviously he didn't have his earmuffs on well enough, because he practically dropped the thing on the spot and managed to get it in the pot before his hands shot up to his head. Bray put more pressure on his earmuffs and rested his head on the table, still wincing. 'Hm, they were on. I guess it's just one of the punishments of acute hearing' He managed to think through the throbbing in his head. When the pain finally subsided a bit, he glanced over at Ash, his head not moving off the table.
"I see.. well, that's alright." Not surprisingly, Bray's gaze shifted to Ash's arms hoping that while he was repotting that he could see a bit of his forearms and see if there were any fresh scars. Still gripping his head with one hand, he used the other hand to finally pour some dirt into his pot. He didn't want to look like a baby that couldn't handle his, but hell, that hurt! Once he filled the pot onhandedly, he patted the dirt down and glared at his mandrake.

Ash noticed where Bray's gaze was resting and rolled his eyes. "Bray, I did not cut myself last night, so relax. Even if I did, do you honestly think I'd tell anyone?" he asked as he pulled out his own mandrake, wincing at the earsplitting shriek, he quickly placed in the other pot and covered it with soil.

Briar looked at her Mandrake and smiled. For something so ugly, it just had to be cute in her eyes. She wrapped her hands around it carefully and pulled it out forcefully yet gently, she didn't want to hurt the poor thing. She looked at the mandrake as it wailed and gave it a pitying look. She carefully placed it in the new pot and sprinkled some new potting soil on it. Slowly, it started to calm down.
Bry smiled at her accomplishment and looked at the two boys. She nudged Bradyn and rubbed his arm. She laughed at him as he glared the poor plant down. She shook her head as she returned her attention to her own plant, Boys are just big baby's, she thought to herself.

Ash looked over at Bry and grinned as he yanked up and repotted yet another shrieking Mandrake. "Ow. These things are loud!" he said wincing from the noise

As classes went Herbology was all right. She did well enough there to get decent enough marks. Today though she just wasn't feeling it. For some reason she wanted to go back to her room and sleep. Tiredness was a new thing lately, she spent a lot more time in bed than she did studying. She wasn't sure what it was and she didn't bother to examine too much. Yawning widely, her hand covering her mouth she realized that they were on the subject of mandrakes. She knew earmuffs were in order so she grabbed a pair before walking back to her spot.
Looking at the innocent looking potted plant she shivered at what she was about to pull from the dirt. Seeing a picture of the thing didn't make looking at it up close any easier. Making sure her muffs were tightly down over her ears, she took one deep breath and began to pull. The thing she was looking at was really grotesque and she had to do everything in her power not to vomit. Making a face at it, the way it was making one at her she threw it into the other pot immediately throwing soil over it, preferably to shut it up. She didn't take her earmuffs off since others seemed to still be working. Now though she did shiver in disgust.

He was late, no doubt about that. Not like it mattered. Entering the classroom without a break in stride, Matthew Grace glanced around the room, surveying its occupants. Noticing at once the lack of Slytherins present, the seventh year sneered, rolling his eyes in disgust and plucking somebody's ear muffs off the table. Finding room as far away from everyone else as he could go, he slapped the muffs on his ears, squishing his mandrake's head as he patted it. Ugly little bugger. He thought to himself, half-thinking it worked for more than a few people in the room. Himself not included.
Where was Erys? Sweeping his eyes around the room again, the Slytherin's posture tensed, expecting to see her in the midst. She was prone to popping in and out of places in cat form, unnoticed most of the time until she decided to present herself. He didn't feel she was there anyway, so she must not be. Well that was unfortunate. He'd be spending quality class-time with a bunch of losers.
Matthew wanted so dearly for someone to faint. Please, please let someone faint.[/color]

This was one of her off days. Everywhere she went she seemed to be late that day. On her way to Herbology her heavy bag split open right down the middle sending books, notes, pens and odds and ends flying everywhere. If she could have screamed she would have because now she was just furious. Having a bad day all over and now she going to be late for her class.
Since people would think she was crazy if she started to just yell out of the blue she just sighed loudly repairing the bag before throwing everything back inside. Getting up off the floor she had to run the rest of the way. Rubber soled shoes squeaking across the floor as she skidded to a stop outside.
Making her way in she made her apologies before seeing what everyone was up to. Oh no she whispered looking around for earmuffs to protect her ears. Mandrakes were loud and annoying certainly the last thing she wanted to hear. Grabbing a pair, she made her way to a table next to girl she'd seen around school, a Ravenclaw or something she thought.
Getting right to work she looked around to see what everyone else was doing, watching several ugly looking mandrakes being pulled out of the dirt made her feel sick but it was class and she had to do what was asked of her even if she didn't really agree. So grabbing the leaves she pulled with all of her might and in minutes she had one angry pissed off mandrake looking at her as if it wanted to bite her head off. It's mouth was open wide so she knew it was howling. Making quick work of it she threw it into another pot, throwing dirt over it hoping the bloody thing would shut up.
