Briar could hear the laughter of people on the streets and in the little tea shop as she isolated herself in a corner by the window. The lesson on Chiromancy had her thinking. It had been a while since she had read her own palm and now she looked at it with fear.
Was her fate really written out for her on her hands? If so, was she really gonna die within the next few months? She had refused to believe it when she first saw it, but now she was actually afraid of the future. She knew that her future was what she made it and it couldn't be defined by silly lines... But she had also seen it. A vision that was clear was the present. Could she ignore both?

Felicity walked into the Tea Shop and took a seat near the window. She rested her head on the table and sighed. Her wavy hair spread along the table. People were probably giving her strange looks by now, but Fay didn't really care. She was trying to escape the constant nagging of her parents.
Fay had just gotten another letter from her parents, and all they seemed to write about was how she was shirking off her duties and how she should be working harder. Her mom was actually offended that she didn't already have a boyfriend, and suggested often that she just use her 'charm'.
Felicity groaned and looked out the window. She placed her chin on her arms. "Life sucks."

Briar sighed almost just as another student close by had. She gave out a small laugh. She shook her head in a sort of agreing manner, "Tell me about it," she answered still looking at her palm. With a groan, she placed her palm face down on the table, hoping it wouldn't occupy you mind again.
She looked over at the girl. She had recognized her from the Chiromancy class and knew she was in Bradyn's house and year. Fay Locke? At least thats what she thought. "Bad day?" she asked with a laugh, trying to get her own thoughts behind her.

Felicity glanced over to the girl. Briar right? Yea, that was it. Fay got up and moved over to her table, it was better than talking over the tables. She took a seat and pulled some hair behind her ear. "Just my parents nagging again." Fay rolled her eyes. "'Why don't you have higher grades? Why don't you have a boyfriend yet?' Blah, blah, blah."
Felicity grinned and laughed slightly. "Sorry, I'm probably boring you aren't I? I'm Felicity Locke, Fay for short. I don't think I've ever properly introduced myself to you."

Briar laughed, sounded like her parents. "My parents nag about the same thing. Grades, boys, me finding myself in detention every other day," she said with a smile. Bry shook her head, "You're not boring me in the slightest way, infact, I'm actually relieved that I have someone to talk to right now," she said.
Bry nodded, "I know who you are. You're one of Bradyn's friends," she said with a smile, "I'm Briar Vanderveer; well, Bry, I guess," she said with a shrug, "And don't worry about the whole proper introduction thing, It happens," she said with a laugh.
Bry sighed, "I take it that your parents expect alot out of you too, huh?" she said referring back to her parents.

Felicity grinned and nodded. "Yea, I'm one of Bray's friends." She giggled slightly and nodded. "Glad I'm not boring you. And yea, it's always nice to talk to someone once in a while."
As Bry brought up the subject of her parents, Fay shuddered. "Yea. All my mom says is how I should have a boyfriend already. I mean just because I'm-" She cut off, her eyes widening slightly as she noticed her mistake. "Well, er, nevermind about me. I've already told you my problems. You seemed pretty bummed when I walked in here. So, what's wrong?"

Bry shrugged, "Oh, I don't know," with a sigh she looked out the window, "Fate, I guess," she said with a serious tone. Bry looked back at Fay with a grin, hoping Fay'd think she was just kidding around.
Bry laughed at the boyfriend comment, "Well, is there a boy in school that you like?" she asked, "I mean, well... I don't know what I mean exactly," she said as she slumped back in her chair. Boys wasn't a good subject for Briar at least not at her current state of mind. Just thinking of Bradyn made her heart break. Briar saw her future... it wasn't long enough for him to be in it. She at least figured she'd make the best of it, she really did like him after all.
Once again Bry shrugged, "I don't know," she said going back to her problems knowing she wouldn't be able to stay away from the subject for that long, "Sometimes I just wish the future could stay unknown."

Felicity shook her head. "No, there isn't a certain boy I like. And I doubt any like me." She shrugged, passive. "Doesn't really matter to me though." Unlike her mother, Fay wasn't vain. She hated being judged for what she was, and hated the prejudices placed against her.
Fay noticed Bry's mood change, even if it didn't show on her face. It was in her eyes. She nodded after Bry's comment on the future. Felicity placed her chin on her arms and sighed lightly. "Sometimes I wish that we could change who we were. And all everyone would see was you for your personality. Not for what you could do, or whatever species you were." She shut her eyes momentarily, then opened them to look back at Briar. "Sorry for being melodramatic."

Briar listened to Fay with contentment. Every word she spoke was true. Why couldn't people except you for who you really were? Bry shook her head, "No, you weren't being melodramatic, just honest. At least someone will say what everyone in the world was thinking. You know? The reason I never make it to class, is because I know every lesson before hand so I feel I have no need. The only one worth going to is Divination. I learn so much about myself in that class. I'm tired of seeing everyone else's future, present, past. I'm tired of seeing my own and not knowing what it means..." Bry trailed off.
She looked at Fay and laughed, "You know, it feels good talking about this. Though, I'm pretty sure you have no clue what I'm talking about. I've tried telling Bradyn, but it just comes out in riddles!" she said with a laugh, "I just wish I could... I don't know... tell people the good things I see, and not the bad." She said, hoping Fay could figure out taht she was a seer without Bry having to say it. Girls were pretty good at that...

Felicity remained silent while Bry was talking. At her statement about seeing other people's futures, it clicked. Her eyes widened slightly and she sat up. "Well, Bray always needs some more clues here and there." She grinned and placed her chin on her palm.
Fay didn't know if she should say it outloud, so she decided not to. "Soo...you can see a lesson before you go?" She grinned as she looked back up at Bry. "Must help with homework right? Getting your assignments early and such." Well, Bry was different like her, that made her feel slightly better. But, Fay wondered, did Bry know what she was? Maybe that's why she was so passive about her hanging out with Bray, because she didn't know yet. Most girls freaked out and dragged their boyfriends away once they found out. Overprotective apparently.

Briar laughed, "Yeah it does help but I get into a lot of trouble because sometimes the lessons weren't for another week or so, and here I am turning in the assignment already. That's why I get trolls... and my sister brags about her good grades!" Bry said laughing.
Bry looked at her and smiled. She knew what Fay was, who couldn't? She was beautiful and she attracted guys like a magnet but it didn't bother her. Her assumptions were verified when Fay mentioned people accepting you for what you could do or what species you were.
Bry shook her head, "Bray's a good guy. I don't want to complicate things with this. I mean, I like him, I really do... but being able to see things ahead of times complicates things on its own. I'm trying to not let it bother me, but if you couldn't tell from my expression earlier, its pretty much eating me up!" she said, trying to make it seem like it wasn't that big of a deal. It really wasn't but sometimes, the things she did see did come true.
Bry shrugged, "I hate being different," she said with a laugh, "But it does make life a little more interesting, don't you think?" she asked.
[[LOL Bry's not the jealous type... that's Ari (her sister) besides, it says that Fay knew Bradyn before Briar... can't be jealous over that! LMAO!]]

[[Lol yeeaaa. Didn't think Bry was much of the jealous type! <3]]
Felicity grinned and shook her head. "I would love to see a teacher's face after that!" She giggled and leaned back against her chair. Just the image of one of her teachers eeing that was priceless.
"If something bothers you, you know you can come and tell me." She grinned again, this time a softer, reassuring smile. "Then you wouldn't have all of the weight on you." Fay laughed softely to herself. "That's the great thing about having friends isn't it? You can tell them everything, and they don't judge you." She looked back down at her hands for a moment as her fingers intertwined. It was a moment before she looked back up at Bry.
"Any trouble, just come to me okay?" Felicity grinned and held up her fists. "Any people need a lesson or anything. I'm not as dainty as I look." She laughed again and clasped her hands together again. "Or any other problems. Don't worry, I'm used to strange things." Felicity grinned wider. "You haven't seen what happens when I turn on my charm. It gets weird."

Briar laughed, she was feeling much happier now. She smiled at Fay, "Thank you," she said in a friendly tone, "No one's ever offered to hurt someone for me," she said with a laugh.
Bry nodded when Fay said she could talk to her about anything, "Yes, friends make life a whole lot easier," she said pulling on a lock of hair.
[[sorry... -_- It's really short... but I don't know what to say anymore! lol]]

Felicity grinned. "Ask any of my friends, they'll say the same thing about me. I'm always good in a fight." She rested her chin back on her arms.
"So, what things have you seen as of late? I'm curious now. That, and your mood seemed very sour when you were here, so I'm wondering if one of your 'visions' has something to do with it." Fay blew some hair out of her face. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want though."
