Name. Haleigh ( Haley ) Anne Richards
Nicknames. Leigh (disliked), Holly (also disliked)
Age. 14
Year. 4th
House. Ravenclaw.
Blood. pureblood.
Wand. 11 in, birch wood, Unicorn Tail. "Best for the pure of heart"
Appearance. (above)Eyes. vibrantly green but mostly apparent from a close distance and could easily be mistaken for blue from a distance.
Hair. Kept shoulder length it's usually curled in neat little wringlets unless laziness takes over her and she lets it curl to its own accord. The color is so dark of a brown that it appears black and at times she'll dye it so just to spot it anyone could notice the difference.
Weight. 99 lbs
Height. 5'4"
Ethnicity. All Welsh, all the time.
Complexion. fair, only made more obvious by the shade of her hair.
Personality.Shy. Quiet and for the most part, antisocial, Haleigh's not usually the one to speak up in class even when she knows an answer for fear of being labeled as an overly nerdy Claw like her parents. The girl is full of irrational fears of what people think but doesn't show it much more than she shows any other sort of emotion. More often doesn't state her opinion to someone she doesn't know well without being asked or rather, forced, and finds that whatever she thinks on things to be completely irrelevant. She doesn't like, no, loathes, to argue with someone over anything--even important things involving danger or the mock-danger of lesson simulations--and will be walked all over to avoid a fight, if she can. As a friend, Haleigh tries to be easygoing and usually just does whatever everyone else is doing, not the kind of girl that would stick up for her own interests and much less, herself.
Wise. Haleigh's one of the girls that often sits in silence and watches something from afar. She rarely gives her input on anything unless it's dragged out of her and even then she'd more likely end up crying from being harassed before saying something bad about someone. Often when she shares her unneeded opinion on something, it's from a completely different angle of what people were thinking about and could come off as wise with the way she makes people think differently before sinking back into her protective shell.
Modest. Going along with her shyness, she's also extremely modest and wouldn't admit to looking any better than the scarecrow in her yard. She tends to just get up and go with her appearance, only messing with her hair so that it wasn't a frizzy mess that would eat everyone around her. Terrible at taking any sort of compliment, it's often followed by a murmured "thank you" before she quickly scuttled off and hyperventilated around the corner. Haleigh isn't the type of person to gloat about anything, or even take credit for her work. If someone was feeling bad about themselves and couldn't get a potion right, she had nothing against switching with them and letting them get the credit for a job well done.
History.Haleigh grew up with the typical wizard life, not really anything particularly interesting. Her parents met at their job in the ministry, the department of international magical cooperation, the boring job with her parents quite well. Both were too busy to really take a notice of each other until they had a moment of clumsy and dropped their things all over the hall as well as spilling their drinks on the nearest victim. Typical cheesy, nerdy meeting for the typical cheesy bookworms.
After their long period of shy looks followed by trying to avoid each other, Cole finally picked up what little courage he had and asked her out then it was only onward and upward from there. Married after three years of dating, because obviously Ashleigh was far too shy of a girl to give herself up so easily, they eventually had a baby and soon decided that one was enough of a thorn in their side. Haleigh grew up spoiled and fully aware of who she was and was often prepared for moving onto Hogwarts. The only way she could be dragged away from her books were when her parents got worried about her social skills and sent her to spend some time with their wizarding neighbors, the Kennedys. Oh, yes, that was certainly helpful for her social skills it probably worked only to make her more shy and distrustful of people.
Growing up with the wild bunch when they were still young enough to be considered so really toughened the girl up behind her shell of silence. Haleigh took her letter for Hogwarts without much surprise and followed through with being sorted into Ravenclaw, also not surprising considering both her parents were and they were the classic type. She even had a couple of pictures at home of her father with big thick, plastic rimmed glasses and a book in his lap.
Embarrassingly nerdy, but not much more than booksmart. She wasn't even a sponge to all the information she soaked up and soon lost last weeks Charms lesson to whatever action novel she was reading at the moment. And surprisingly, she even had things that she'd rather be doing than reading. Perhaps all of that time she spent with the Kennedy's really did have a good social impact on her if she wasn't a perfect clone of her geeky parents.
