Dan listened with a keen interested when Vicky talked about herself, if there was something he had picked up was how to listen to women at the right moments in time, and when they were talking about themselves that was a key time to pay attention. When she mentioned about being the grounds keeper he could remember when they met in the forest, he fact that he flirted with her, if he recalled he did that quiet a lot with poor Vicky and she always responded so well to it. Now that planet a seed of thought in Dan’s mind, although it was not allowed time to germinate as she was now addressing him.
“Ha.” Dan stroked his stubble and found it hard not to chuckle. “You never really think about how much of a difficult question that is till someone asks it back at you.” It was strange that over the many a year he had used that line no one had ever asked it back, all the girls he was used to talking to really did not have any other interests other then themselves and it kept them talking for a while by which time Dan was able to ply them with enough alcohol to make the suitable drunk. Vicky was actually making him think, and that is something he liked a lot.
“I am who I am because of my family. The Hubbles clan we…well as you can see with me covering for my bloody cousin we are close. I would be nothing without them, although I think you can thank Offley Marsh for making me the reckless rebel I am today.” With an almost cruel chuckle Dan picked up his wine glass and raised it up in the air as if doing a silent toast before tasting the sweet wine. To be honest he had not reviled much about himself at all, but then most of Hogwarts knew his life story, the scrapes with death, his womanizing and the many a glorious years of teaching. “I will say this though; I have changed a lot since walking through those grand doors for the first time as an adult. The school has a habit of doing that.”
But then as he sat here, chatting up Vicky, drinking alcohol when there was a pile of work sitting on his desk back at the castle, maybe he had not changed as much as Dan would have liked to think he had. As long as he did not get arrested like he had done many a time in the past then maybe he would have matured ever so slightly. With another sip of wine the man could feel it going slightly to his head already, you were always told to mix your drinks and boy had Dan done that tonight.
“I imagine,” He started trying to pick on something that Vicky had previously mentioned. “you would be very skilled on a broom. You have the…the right build for it.”

Vicky had been around the block a few times especially when it came to men, their subtle tricks that were never really all that subtle, the games they liked to play and think they were winning. Vicky was always on the alert for them which was why when Dan asked about her she revealed only a little and turned her attention back to them. She didn't Dan was trying to ply her with liquor or anything, why would he? She was just weary sometimes when it came to men so many of them were tricksters who would do anything to bed a woman, though if Dan knew her thoughts he would no he wouldn't have to do much for that honestly he would simply need ask. Sad fact but a fact all the same. Being this close to him usually did her in add to that alcohol and she was a goner.
That's why she was happy to get him talking about himself. Yes she heard the odd rumor here and there but she didn't really know the man behind the title well. Hoping for a gripping tale of drama and suspense Vicky gave him all her attention but he like her gave an abridged version of things. Family tight nit teacher for years nothing juicy or meaty. Vick felt kind of cheated but what were you going to do. She was going to take another sip of wine that's what. "Well I suppose one would find it almost impossible not to change if only just a little bit while in school. You go through so much its hard not to. I used to a wallflower in school and look how I blossomed." It was meant to be a joke but there was some truth behind it she was a whole lot shyer then than she was now.
That shy girl did still reside within her as witnessed by the way she never made the first move on Dan, but the fact that she could even be sitting there with him having a conversation spoke volumes about how much she had grown. In her day the mere thought of talking to a boy she like would have sent her running to the hills.
Dan was having a good old time with his drink too bad they weren't buddies they could have fun seeming who could out drink who. He had already had a lot from what she witnessed he could probably take her if they were to go drink for drink. How long would it take to get him sloshed she wondered, then maybe she could tell him hoe she felt and know he wouldn't remember in the morning. What a wicked thought. Not that she ever would do it. He mentioned her build for Quidditch and for some reason her mind went to a dirty place, unable to stop herself she said "my body is a good build for a lot of things especially things that require lots of stamina" the words were out and she couldn't take them back. Ducking her head down onto the bar she mumbled "I'm sorry I should not have said that."

Was there a hint of disappointment hiding among those fair features, maybe Dan should have given Vicky a little more about his life…but the question then is where do you start? It would be like trying to sum up a complex book in fifty words, hundreds of characters, just as many locations and a twist in the plot with every chapter. It was safe to say Dan Hubbles had had a colourful life and it would take all night to tell it all. Something though had clearly bothered Vicky, maybe it was the alcohol starting to work its magic on her, but what she had said made Dan smile and for her to lose confidence and apologise.
“Vicky, don’t be sorry.” He was looking her straight into her eyes; his voice was calm, smooth and sincere. Now was the time he was going to make his move, if he was going to go through with this then there was no time like the present. The alcohol was pumping through his veins, clouding his judgement and manipulating his thoughts, it gave him the courage he would need to cheat on his wife and the confidence to believe that he could get away with it.
Gently placing his almost empty wine glass down on the bar counter a small coy smile danced across the man’s features. Slowly his right moved up towards Vicky’s face, tenderly brushing a strand of lose hair behind her ear before it lightly grazed her cheek. His cool blue eyes were still locked upon her violet ones as Dan Hubbles gradually moved his head closer. He could feel the warmth of her breath on his skin, the smell of her perfume made his senses tingle but it was soon overwhelmed by the taste of the white wine on her lips.
The kiss was not one of great passion but in Dan’s eyes it was enough to get the ball rolling, it was his polite sign that he was willing if she was. He broke the kiss, keeping it shot, sweet and he hoped that it left Vicky begging for more. Almost as slowly as he moved in he leaned away but he was not ashamed by his actions, but neither did he pride himself like he used to once upon time when every kiss was a conquest. He did not reach for his drink, nor did he say anything, in his mind the silence spoke a thousands words and asked a million questions and Vicky held the answer to them all.

Just when she thought she couldn't feel any worse about what she said Dan actually went and told her not to be sorry. But how could she not be. it was completely inappropriate to say something like that. The thing that she kept forgetting was he was married, ok she was lying to herself she didn't forget the fact she was simply omitting it from her memory because she still lusted after him. What was it about the man that had her in such a tizzy.
He kept staring at her, his blue eyes into her violet ones and it was just so infuriating because he had no idea of his effect on her and her senses. Suddenly she was hot all over, her heart started to speed up its pace, her breathing turned ragged her chest rose and fell faster and faster. All of this happened from just a look. There was no telling what would happen if it ever went further than that. Hopefully she wouldn't find out, she could see herself begging him to take her she didn't like to beg.
She wouldn't need to because suddenly Dan's hand reached out and made contact with her face. The gentle contact was enough to make her jump slightly. Her eyes wide with shock as she wondered what he was thinking of. Dan must be drunk how else could this be happening. But oh how she wanted it to be happening.
Next moment his lips were pressed upon hers in a gentle kiss. NO NO NO WHAT ARE YOU DOING... her mind began to yell when she didn't push him away, he did it for her. He backed up but the taste of him lingered. Her body tingled she felt almost electrically charged. Her heart beat even faster as if it were about to beat right out of her chest. Her chest rising and falling so fast. A sudden want and need came over her meanwhile her mind was still screaming telling her to stop reminding her he was someone else's.
After a moment her body told her mind to shut the hell up and she let her body take control. Looking at him lust in her eyes she said "Dammit Hubbles do you know how long I've been waiting for you to do that. I've wanted you for so damn long, but is that all you got?" the taunt was out there now she was his to have if he wanted.

Now that was a challenge is Dan Hubbles ever heard one and he was more then happy to play along considering Victoria seemed to be wanting to head down the same path as he did. If she wanted more then Dan would give her more, he did not, however, overlook the fact that Vicky had mentioned that she had wanted him for so long. So it was true, people had hinted at it and he thought there was a slight bias but never anything more. But in a way this information was good, it gave Dan confidence as he knew that chances of Vicky turning him down now was slim to non.
If Vicky wanted Dan to show her what he could do then he would happily comply and leave her begging him for more. This time around there would be no gentle skin grazes, no slow move in, this time Dan got of his bar stool and roughly spun Vicky around to face him and moved in for the kill. This time there would be no tender kiss, no holding back on the emotions of lust and desire. As their lips and tongues met Dan ran his hand through Vicky’s silkily hair, he pulled her closer to him and breathed her in, tasting her lips once more.
“More?” Dan grinned as he broke away from the kiss; he lingered close enough to Vicky to still be able feel the warmth of her breath on his face. “Or have you had your fill?”
Oh how he hoped she had not had his fill, to come so far and to stumble at what could be called the last hurdle although seeing as Vicky had been ’waiting’ for him and ’wanted him for so long’ was it truly possible for Dan to fail?

Vicky had given him an out. Given him the chance to back out if he wished. She had wanted for so long but wouldn't take unless he was sure. He was married and whether he had forgotten that or didn't care for the moment she wanted him to realize he didn't have to do this. It would kill her to have to walk away now but she would for him. Her breath caught in her throat as he rose from his stool this was the moment of truth, do they go on or do they call it a night. Either way Vicky would do what he wanted.
He wanted her, he moved to her with purpose a look in his eyes that sent a pleasurable chill up her spine, he turned her so that they were squarely facing each other and he took a kiss from her with force. Something so very wrong should not feel so right but it did dammit. The taste of him was like a sweet nectar a taste so forbidden that it could only cause her to crave more. Her hand wrapped around his waist pulling him closer as his hands slid through her long locks.
Vick was gone and she knew it there was no fighting this but she had to try. The words he's married played over and over in her mind but his kiss ignited a flame that anything would be hard pressed to put out. He pulled back from her making her think that this was him rethinking his decision. Now she would have to put this whole thing out of her mind, let her desire for him rest once and for all.
The assumption was wrong the man was taunting her making her ask for what she wanted, now would be the time for her to get up, pour a drink in his face, slap him and walk out. A normal woman would do just that she was no such thing. You're going to regret this she thought as she answered him "I want so much more" she whispered pulling him by his shirt so that their lips were millimeters apart "I want everything you've got to offer me Daniel Hubbles, I'm not backing away from this so take what you want." The truth was out there now he could take it or leave it.

Dan did not resist when Vicky took hold of his shirt and pulled him closer, why should he? He was finding all of this far too much fun! He could smell her perfume as she whispered into his ear, she wanted more, she wanted everything. Well then Dan Hubbles will just have to give it to her. A cheeky grin filled his face as she pushed himself away from Vicky, gently pulling her hand off his shirt before stepping away and returning back to his bar stool.
Casually Dan leaned an elbow on the bar counter while he lazily picked up his glass of wine and sipped the fruity wine slowly. He was toying with her and oh how he loved it! Dan could not help but get the feeling that whatever he did he could easily get away with it although he knew that he could not personally wait much longer, he feared that suddenly his confidence would shatter, his deep undying love for Dia would break through and Dan would have to leave with his tail between his legs.
With a deep breath Dan downed half a glass of wine in one and stood up off the bar stool, picking up the bottle of wine and his glass as he went. When he sauntered past Vicky he raised his eyebrows and offered her a coy little smile.
“You want more...” He raised the bottle of wine and in the true piss up fashion took a long swig from the bottle. “…then you are going to have to come and get it!”
The cards were laid on the table, Vicky had shown her hand and Dan had shown his, he was offering her the one thing that she clearly wanted and it was now up to Vicky to reach out and take it. With a small, if slightly wobbly bow Dan turned on his heel and headed towards the wooden stairway that lead to the rooms above the pub. “I will be in room seven if you need me.” He shouted down the stairs as he stumbled up towards his destination.

Reality gave way to fantasy as Vicky's finally began to come true. No more was she worried about right and wrong. Full blown passion had ignited inside of her as the man she had been coveting for so long expressed a desire for her. He didn't seem worried about his marriage at the moment so why should she. Guilt could come later for now she wanted to live in the moment. It isn't very often one gets what they wished for Vicky had to take advantage or let him take advantage as the case might be.
So far things seemed to be going well until her hand was pulled off of Dan's shirt and he moved away from her. Again she feared he might be having second thoughts. He couldn't because now she couldn't have that much of taste then have it yanked away like that. His cheeky grin is what saved the moment. Now she knew that he was toying with her, teasing her, making her want him more. Men enjoyed those little games and Vicky normally played along just like now.
Watching as he moved back to his own stool to get himself a drink he took the remaining wine and downed it in one sip. Liquid courage was on order it seemed. He wasn't used to doing something like this but hadn't she heard somewhere before he cheated on Dia? Why was he so skittish now?
Whatever the issue he got over it quick getting up from his stool grabbing the rest of the wine he gave her that look the one that said here's a challenge. With that he told her to come and get him if she wanted him. Goodness had he learned nothing. The moment he was out of sight Vicky slipped off her own bar stool and followed him up the stairs to room seven for a night neither one would soon forget drunk or not...
