Trying to think of all the things she would drink when she got back to the village helped to calm her nerves, actually it helped to keep her from crying. This was a mess, one of her own making her desire for this man ran rampant so much so that she put her morals to the side in order to be with him. To help him cheat on his wife. The worst part of it was that if she had it to do over she would choose to do it again and again. Realizing this helped to make her fell worse.
He was up again, good she thought now they could leave. He started to talk to her and she couldn't give him the satisfaction of looking at him, not just yet anyway for she knew her eyes held the pain she felt deep within. Swallowing hard she began to pace while she listened to him explain that he didn't go through this because she was just anyone. Stopping as he started to walk closer Vicky found she could look at him now. He said he wouldn't risk his marriage for just anyone.
Like a fool her heart melted, her anger faltered and now it was her turn to walk over to him. "I'm sorry I know I made a mess of the day. I just..I don't know how to explain it. I guess hearing you say what you said got to me more then it should have. You went through all this trouble for me and I let a little word anger me. I acted like a hormonal woman and I shouldn't have. Can you forgive me?" She batted her lashed, but then she thought of something that might make him forgive.
Putting her hands through his arms her arms now wrapped around his waist, she leaned in and kissed his lips. Softly at first but soon it turned a bit more passionate. The last few moments not completely forgotten, but tucked away in the back of her mind until she was able to think clearly. Being this close to him didn't allow for that.

Dan’s eyes studied Vicky closely as she glared over at him, socking in his words and just like the early morning dew in the heat of the winter sun her anger melted away. For a moment they both stood there in the snow, looking at one another. The beauty of the world around them did not cause them to divert their gaze, the bitter cold wind that blew did not make them shudder they were caught up in each other, obsession and lust overpowering any other emotion. When Vicky approached Dan was as still as a statue, his face carved into a passive expression, void of emotion even as she apologised for her previous actions. It was only at the request of being forgiven did the man stir, he breathed in deeply and a small lopsided smile filled his weathered features.
It was almost as if Vicky had read Dan’s rule book, had the positions been reversed she was doing the same action he would have taken. She wrapped her arms around him, there two bodies pressed against one another sharing the precious warmth. Slowly their faces grew closer and their lips pressed against one another, the longer the kiss lasted the more passion and wanting escaped. Dan’s arms made their way around Vicky, the material from her coat gathered underneath his fingers as his hand travelled up her back.
As their lips broke apart Dan gently brushed his nose against and grinned down at his fellow Professor. “Am I so predictable?” Dan teased his voice almost a whisper almost as if he was worried about being overheard by the birds that flew above. “Or are you just that amazing at kissing.” Leaning closer Dan took another taste of those lushes’ lips once more. “Hmmm, defiantly the later.”

Vicky hoped that they would be able to put this behind them at least for now. Vicky couldn't resist Dan and wanted to be around him as much as possible. Ruining that by acting like a child even for a moment took away from that. Now she simply needed for him to forgive her but she didn't think it would be hard. From the way he kissed back her was quite content to kiss and make up as it were. Vicky enjoyed the feel of his lips against hers and she was ready to kick herself for almost letting this come to an end.
His hand found its way up her back and she instantly shivered his touch even over her clothing warming her body immediately. There wasn't much for him to do to turn her on. Not that he knew that. Vicky was happy she didn't have to work too hard to make him forgive her, not that she didn't have other ideas up her sleeve to get back into his good graces. When she really wanted something she could be very persuasive.
As they broke apart Vicky looked up into his eyes hers were already smoldering, she knew they were supposed to have a nice time out but she couldn't fight wanting him. He always made her want him, even when they rubbed noses-- innocent as the action was meant to be it made her hot and bothered. But she knew one thing whatever effect she thought he had on her she seemed to have one on him. As he made sure to mention that he found her an amazing kisser, this led to another kiss. Vicky's heart started to race.
"You just have no idea what you do to me, do you? I can be mad at you but no matter what I have such a hard time resisting you." Not that she meant to admit that, but there you had it she did.

A silence had fallen over the snow covered clearing as the two Professors stood in each other embrace staring into each others eyes. If for some reason someone had been watching them it could have been mistaken that these two could have been in love, maybe one of them was and from the way she was walking Dan could not help but fear that she was.
“Yeah.” He laughed, his trade mark smile radiating out. “I seem to have that affect on many women.” There was something that when he was around Vicky that brought out this new…wait, old cocky side to him. However after he had finished talking he could not help but roll his eyes and drop his head in shame. “Sorry.” He muttered. “I don’t know why I...”
It was not only just his arrogant outburst that he felt sorry for but for having this power over her. When he was standing behind the bar counter that fateful night he never actually thought about how Vicky might be feeling and that was now turning into a major problem. Already today she had shown how the wrong word could cause her pain and now she was admitting this too him, it was getting serious. All Dan had wanted was a bit of fun, no strings attached fun for when stress of work and life got too much for him but it was starting to seem like this might not turn out to be his stress outlet.
Shifting his weight from weight from one foot to another Dan pulled himself away from Vicky’s embrace and took hold of her hand giving it a gentle squeeze before leading her back towards the blanket and the picnic. He knew the romantic atmosphere would not be the same now after all of this, in the back of his mind he knew he would have to watch what he said but also the guilt was starting to seep in after simply saying his wife’s name. Sitting back down on the blanket Dan reached inside the basket and pulled out a spare wine glass and poured Vicky fresh glass seeing as hers had been involved in a collision with a tree.
“There you go.” He said with a wide grin as he handed over another glass of white wine. “Don’t smash it this time, it is the only glass I have left.”
(I have no idea whee we are going with this so I shall let you pick my dear!)

Of course she didn't have to be a mind-reader to know that she probably should have kept those thoughts to herself. She knew in her mind that he was in it for the fun of it. There was an attraction there yes, but for him it was probably simply physical. Here she was trying to make it more romantic. Why couldn't she just be happy with things the way they were? He wanted her not for a lifetime but just for the time being, she knew this and should be content with that instead she was trying to make it something more. They were on borrowed time, and he was a borrowed man, his heart and his love belonged to someone else. For him Victoria was merely a distraction someting to pass the time until he re-dedicated himself to Dia once more. Finally. she figured that out and though she didn't like it, knew it would hurt when this was over, she was willing to put up with it because she wanted him that much.
Vicky could not turn off her feelings for him would never assume to but she would try to hold off on all the love dovey crap it was making things awkward for him at least and that's not what she wanted to do. Even after he made his comment about the other women it caused a pang in her heart but she would not let him know it bothered her. He apologized but she held her hand up to tell him to stop. "There's no need Dan no worries handsome you're too sexy to simply just have one woman in the wings." Forcing a believable laugh she tried to turn things around.
He pulled away from her and ended back at the blanket where they started. She was poured another drink that she graciously took and sipped. The alcohol warmed her throat as it went down. Looking back at him she wanted him to know he had nothing to worry about, she wouldn't try to keep him if it was fun he wanted it was fun she would give him.
"Dan" she began not sure how to say what she wanted to say. "I well I see things for how they are. I want you and you want me my body entices you as yours does mine, so there will be no talk of feelings. From now on you have me to do with as you want." Just so he didn't think she was saddened by this she went on, "I'm fine with this I am being honest." Then with that she put he glass down on the snow and moved over to him. Taking the glass from his hand she knelt in front of him her hand reaching into his hair pulling his head back to expose his neck she kissed the flesh moving from one side to the next, then to his jaw, up to his lips but before she had them make contact she smiled that sexy smile of hers "You have me here all alone no one for miles what do you intend on doing with me?" Kissing him with nothing behind it but lust she wondered if he would take her here in the cold.

Oh boy, oh boy…oh boy!
Dan was not really sure what was happening. Vicky had been talking to him about how she understood then before he knew it she had took the glass of wine out of his hands and was basically on his lap. His heart was pounding so quickly in his chest did nothing but sit and let Vicky slowly kiss his neck, then his jaw before planting a kiss onto his lips. As they broke apart Dan was slightly breathless as he had been holding his breath without knowing it. This was the chance to have a bit of fun, roll around in the snow and have the no strings attached fun that he had been so desiring a few minutes ago.
“You know what I really want?” A small smile filled Dan’s face as he gently kissed Vicky. “What I really…” he kissed her again “…really want?” He looked her straight in the eyes and ran his and through her long brown hair. “I really want some trifle.”
He was not sure how he managed to keep a straight face at that moment in time, he just gently pushed Vicky away turned his attention back to the picnic basket and started to rummage around the enchanted wicker basket and pulled a medium sized glass bowl containing the Headmasters favourite dessert. Giving himself a rather large slice of the dessert Dan also put some for Vicky in another bowl a wide grin filling his face. The perfect evening for Daniel Hubbles would be a whole sherry trifle to himself and a pot of Earl Gray tea.
“You know Vicky you should not sell your self so short.” Dan was licking the cream off the back of his spoon when he started to talk once more. “You deserve to be wooed and romanced; it is no wonder that Seth guy was so touchy feely with you the other week, if you act like that with everyone you will get a reputation.” He gave a small chuckle as he was really not one to talk about reputations but sadly, as was the way of the world if a women got a reputation of sleeping around it was seen as a negative when for men it was more often then not the other way around. “I am here today because I enjoy spending time with you.”
Talk about giving mixed messages to someone, he was more complex and mysterious then some of the puzzles in the Daily Prophet. One moment he would be saying one thing then the next he would be doing something else to contradict himself completely. One moment he wanted no strings attached fun and then he wanted to sit down and eat trifle with her; this was just proof that Dan had no idea what he wanted from this relationship. Maybe what it boiled down too was that Dan simply wanted someone to spend the time with and the rush of adrenaline and the fear that came with it was just a bonus.

Vicky had wanted nothing more than to be the woman Dan wanted. If that was the kind of woman he was going to have fun with then she would be that woman. On his lap she felt right at home their lips touching the bodies close stealing warmth from one another. She thought he was enjoying it too as he kissed her back, making her moan in enjoyment. Daniel Hubble was an amazing kisser, she could spend the whole day with her lips wrapped around his.
He was about to tell her what he really wanted she assumed well hoped was more like it that it would be what she wanted. Unfortunately, she didn't get what she wanted because he told her that what he craved at the moment was some stinking trifle. Vicky stared at him eyes wide with surprise. Here she was offering him what he said he wanted and still he didn't want that.
He set her back down on the blanket and went poking around in the basket until he brought out the desert he seemed to so desperately want. She was given some too but had no desire to eat it. What was he doing? He went on about how her behavior was going to earn her a reputation. Her eyes flashed to his and she was no so utterly confused. Every time she thought she had things figured out he would pull the rug out from under her making her unsteady on her feet.
"Dan what the hell do you want from me. I just really don't know what to do anymore. You say you want fun I offer you that, Then you practically say I'm acting like a whore. I tell you I feel for you and you freak out like I'm begging you to run off and marry me. I don't know what to do or how to act anymore." The desert ignored she sat there looking up at the sky trying to keep her emotions in check while she wondered what she was doing here.

“Well if you are not going to eat your trifle can I have it?” He had eaten his bowl of trifle so quickly it would not have been a surprise to find that the man had just inhaled the dessert in one go. Admittedly with what Vicky had just said maybe, once again, Dan Hubbles had not said the most appropriate thing and he knew that he only had a few seconds to try and save it and stop another argument from out breaking like before. Placing his own bowl on the floor Dan turned to look at Vicky, reaching out and taking hold of her hand.
“Vicky I want us to be friends.” Even Dan knew this sounded corny and he gave her hand an extra reassuring squeeze. “But I like to think it as friends with perks.” He looked Vicky up and down. “Very nice perks.”
Leaning across the blanket he placed a light kiss on her cheek before gently tracing his finger along her jaw line. With a small satisfied sigh Dan looked straight in the eyes of Vicky and her words from before seemed to echo around in his head. He knew he had to agree with her, he had given off so many mixed messages that he had to make a decision and fast and seeing as he was already living one lie with Dia he might as well live another one with Vicky.
“Vic, you and me are the same and both, dare I say it, both rather good in the bedroom department and I…I do lov- … I respect you.” With a small sigh Dan dropt his gaze for a moment trying to find the words to use. How could you tell someone that you wanted them to be solely yours when you knew you would not be able to do the same back? It was a dangerous game to be playing but then Dan did have a reputation of playing with fire.
“I am going to be brutally honest with you now. I want you; I had a taste and bloody hell I want more.” He could not help himself but smile at this part. “I love Dia, we have covered that part already, but I can not deny that you…” He breathed in deeply through his teeth creating almost a whistling noise “…well I have a stubborn attitude about things like this and if I want something I have to take it and I want you and have to take you.”
His face was almost upon Vicky’s, there noses were almost touching; he could feel her breath upon his face and Dan was finding it hard not smile. It was a keen, eager little smile as his eyes seemed to glisten with memories of the past nights and possibilities of what were to come. “It is your choice sweetheart. We have cold beef sandwiches or our normal room in the Hogshead.”

He wanted her trifle? He was really sitting there asking her for her trifle? Oooh Vicky wanted to give it to him, to throw it right in his face. Here she was sitting her wanting him and the only thing he seemed interested in was some damn desert. The man had to be infuriating now. He had her here alone and they could do what the pleased but noooooo he was more concerned about the trifle. What the hell was so special about this damn trifle. Picking it up she took the spoon and took a taste. Just as the though it was simply OK not even all that good. "Sure here take it eat the whole bloody thing gain ten pounds eating while you're at it I just don't care." She sighed passing the cup over to him.
He didn't take it because he took her hand instead. She wondered what this was about now. Then he said the few words everyone man and woman alike dreaded to hear. "Vicky I just want to be friends" her face dropped like a stone at the bottom of the lake. After all this he was not telling her he wanted to be friends. How the hell was she supposed to go back to doing that after having tasted the sweet nector that is Dan Hubbles. Maybe she could make him see reason.....
Then he continued saying he wanted their to be perks to their friendship. As his eyes looked over her body she knew just what sort of perks he was after. Even after his previous words about her reputation she couldn't say no. He wanted her tha'ts all that seemed to matter to her at the moment. So if he wanted perks he would get his perks, just as long as he wasn't ending things with her.
He leaned closer to her and kissed her gently sending shivers through her as only he could. His finger traced her skin and she bit her bottom lip. His simple touch made her want him right then and there. She tried to control her desire for him but she couldn't help it he was simply the best she ever had. At the moment she was lusting so bad she missed his slip up when he almost said he loved her.
Vicky shook her head trying to clear it of the unpure thoughts running rampant. Licking her lips she made herself pay attention he seemed to have something he wanted to say to her.
When it finally came out Vicky couldn't keep the grin off of her face. She hadn't been expecting him to tell her that he wanted her for himself. Vicky knew that she should say no that she should tell him he had to be dreaming but screw what was right. This was the man she had been lusting after for so long if he wanted then he would have. She was his as long as he wanted, and maybe since he wanted her so much he might even end up caring for her the way she wanted him to. Her smile widenend even more at the thought she couldn't help it.
He moved in even closer his mouth inches from hers his breath on her cheeks intoxicating her making her mind feel all fuzzy. She could barely breathe again she wanted him more than she had any right to. Trying to regain some semblance of normalcy she took a few steadying breaths while staring at him. "I have been so hungry today and it has never been for food or even drink. I want you Dan, and I'm yours to take whenever you want. Take me to bed like I know you want to." She never meant anything more.

Vicky was having so many mood swings today Dan was slowly learning his lesson, for example instead of coming out with a comment about how Jen would have eaten the trifle he simply raised his eyebrows and pulled a comical face. But then he was not really one to talk about mood swings, he had them just as much as any woman, together they were a right old pair. One moment they would be fighting the next they could not keep their hands off each other. What a wild affair.
After his proposition came her response and it was just what he had been expecting. Her deep lusting passion for him would always over rule any common sense and as her sweet voice sounded out around them and at that present moment in time they were more warming then any fire. There was something deep inside of him that knew this fling of theirs would not last for ever and as he has promised himself he would make Vicky happy so this one time he would give into her cravings, his want for trifle could wait…he had someone else to satisfy.
“Let me get this right then Vic. Next time I just do not bother with this kind of thing.” He raised his eyebrows, a playful smile filtering across his face. “We just go straight to the Hogshead and get down to business.” Giving her hands a small reassuring squeeze in reassurance to inform her that he was playfully teasing her, after what had happened before he did not want to have to calm Vicky down again. Leaning in close to Vicky Dan planted one last kiss on her soft lips before standing up and gently tugging Vicky to her feet. “Come on then we can not let you go hungry.”
He was finding it hard to keep the grin off his face as he led Vicky away from the blanket and picnic basket before once more wrapping his arms tightly around her small figure. “Ready” he whispered gently into her ear before he closed his eyes, imagined the bedroom in the Hogshead and with a small pop the snow covered clearing was now empty and room 7 of the Hogshead now had a couple of unexpected guests.
