Oh the joys of youth, thought Dan as he noticed Ellie jump to attention at the sound of the suit as armour creaking, she would have been more use if it had carried on fighting. Dan might have managed a weak slap but at this very moment in time it took a great amount of focus to actually breath. Thankfully for them both the armour crashed to the floor and so there sat Ellie and Dan in a destroyed corridor, covered in dust, their hands burnt and a mutated suit of armour in front of them. It was a photo opportunity that Dan was glad no one was there to capture; his hair had gone flat for a start!
“I think it did.” Dan turned to smile at Ellie. “I think we just were attacked by a suit of armour.” Dan looked around the corridor and was not surprised to hear the murmuring of the portraits around them, no doubt the gossiping paintings would be spread the story throughout the school and in true Chinese whisper fashion the story will change with every telling. “I am just happy we survived it.”
Dan turned to Ellie once more to see her eyes dropping in tiredness, which was a definite sign for Dan to take control of the situation once again and get things sorted. It took him a few attempts but he managed to finally click his fingers and as if by magic (well it most likely was magic) a house elf appeared in front of Dan, although he was not looking all to amused to be called.
“Ianto I need you to go to Mr Simmons hut and tell him to come to this corridor, he will know what to do.”
“Do this Ianto, do that.” The house elf really did have an attitude today.
“Oi.” Dan wearily warned him. “Just do it ok, and you can have an extra butter beer tonight.”
With a small grumble the house elf vanished with a snap leaving Dan to try and get himself up onto his feet. He knew that they could not stay in this corridor much longer even though Dan was sure he could close his eyes and be out for hours, but not really the most appropriate thing for the Headmaster to be doing. No the most appropriate thing for him to be doing at this very moment would be to take Ellie to the hospital wing and then start an investigation into why the armour in the castle (and the house elves for that matter…oh and the stairs) were acting so strange.
Despite the fact that Dan only minutes before was finding it hard to breath and sit up straight he some how dug deep inside of him, it seemed to be an in built human instinct that you could always keep going and so with a rather loud groan and a few gasps of air Dan bent down and picked Ellie up, carefully positing her in his arms and made his way towards the hospital wing.
(Oh Lynn I am so sorry, the end of this post was well lame! So very sorry! Also I shall create a new thread in the Hospital Wing)
