Hannah was still fuming over what happened in her classroom. Never had she known a student to go so far not even in her own days as a student. The boy didn't even seem to have any remorse over it and had acted as if Hannah should be the one worried. She had sent him to see the Headmaster but something told her he hadn't bothered to do that.
Showing up outside of Daniel's office Hannah paced around outside after she had given the password. If she could have had smoke coming out of her ears she would have. Finally the door appeared and she entered. She was seething but she had to have a levelhead. Entering the room she looked around seeing the Headmaster she said "Hello Dan, I was wondering if we could have a little chat about one of my students Jason Walker."
Again the woman began to pace trying to let off some steam or maybe she just liked all the extra walking. Whatever it was she couldn't seem to stop herself at t he moment. She just kept going and going back and forth back and forth almost like a clock pendulum. She didn't seem bothered by it but someone else might. Hoping Dan would say something soon she continued furiously pacing muttering things like "Downright disrespectful...Cant's believe the audacity. Who does he think he is?"[/b]

It has been a very long night, heck a very long set of days and it had got to the point where Dan Hubbles had been awake for 50 hours and 25 minutes to be exact. He had managed to catch the odd forty winks here and there but not enough to be officially classified as sleep. So here he was, half dead, huge bags under his eyes, messed up hair and thick stubble on his face from the lack of shaving, he honestly would not have gone a miss in a homeless shelter.
It would be then no surprise to find Dan Hubbles, much like the many portraits that lined the walls of his office, dozing away while sitting in his chair. His snores joined the ranks of the other headmaster and mistress that filled the round office and he was sure it would have carried on until Dia got back from having tea with Bree...but someone else entered his office and the different voice caught him completely off guard.
Snorting rather loudly as he woke up Dan looked blurry eyes around his office to try and work out which Professor it was who had entered. His slow and tired mind slowly kicked in and the face and voice recognition kicked in and finally Dan realised he was now in a meeting with Professor Hannah Edgecombe.
“Jason Walker…” Dan repeated as he pushed himself up in the high backed chair, yawning into the back of his hand Dan watched as the Divination Professor paced around the room muttering to herself. He could only pick out a few words but the ones he could hear were not all to promising…this was not going to be a ‘oh how well this student is doing’ talk.
“Whoa, Hannah stop with the pacing and muttering and take a seat and tell me what in Merlin’s beard Mr Walker has done to wind you up so much.”

It never dawned on her that she might be waking him up. It wasn't all that late but his job was one that required a lot of his attention there was a lot to do and not enough time in the day to do it. That boy had just gotten to her in a way no other student in existence ever had. Even when she was doing her training, she hadn't seen anything like that. Dan had been waiting for her to calm down but she was too into herself just then to see that. Finally, she heard him call out to her.
Stopping mid stride she turned in slow motion. It took a second for her to stop muttering placing her hands on her hips she shut her eyes a minute then she pulled out a chair right across from him. Crossing her left leg over her right she began to kick out it wasn't pacing but it was just as good as.
"I just...Did he?" Forming a complete sentence was out of the question right now. Moving her left hand up to her face her thumb and her index finger suddenly pinched the bridge of her nose, she tried to lessen the pressure in her head, the one that threatened to make her lash out in the worst way. That was the old Hannah the miserable always-angry Hannah. For years, she left that girl behind and in one fowl swoop; this one boy made her want to bring that Hannah back.
There was no way she was going to let that old girl return, she had too much to loose if she did. Trying again to relay what she wanted to say Hannah took her hand off her nose placing both in her lap looking up at Daniel she said, “Yes Jason Walker is out of control. I paired him up with Ashton Laurent in my class and next thing I knew he stupefied the boy right there. That's just not done. I sent him to see you but something tells me that didn't happen. Something like that can't go unpunished."
Good going she said what she needed to say and she said it without screaming, cursing, or hexing. "Oh and he threatened my job told me I wouldn't have it much longer. Who does he think he is?" That was said more to herself than to Dan.

Dan had expected the situation to be big considering the manor that Hannah barged into his office and would not stop pacing but as he listened on to what his Divination Professor had to say and in all honesty Dan was concerned. The situation had clearly bothered Hannah and that was the thing that worried Dan the most, he cared for every member of the staff (yes even Bree) and did not like to see any of them being wound up, least of all by an immature student who thinks he has the right to do what he wants when he wants…typical Slytherin.
Something clearly needed to be done and Dan had already picked up a quill and was scribbling notes down on the back of an old envelope that was thrown onto his desk. The amount of rules this student had broken was incredible and already Dan had decided that there would be no other choice but to punish the student.
“He was meant to come and see me?” Dan mused as he dropt the quill down onto the table, his hand absentmindedly ran over his thick stubble as he pondered on the situation a bit more. “Something will be done Hannah, but it is up to the head of house to decide the punishment, I can only…advice.”
Dan was trying to pick his words carefully as he knew that Bree would be a tricky customer to deal with, but he was sure she would see Hannah’s side of the story more the Mr Walkers. After all he had disrespected a member of staff and that was something that was not done and Bree had come down on a Slytherin before for that.
“Hannah my dear I can promise you, your job is safe. You will most likely last out in this school longer then I will because if I was in your situation I would have hexed the bugger there and then in the class!”

New term and it seemed like Will had not seen the headmaster for weeks. Their friendship had been thrown by the wayside for now as school matter had been coming first. Sat in the dungeons, feet propped up on the desk, he sighed as he twiddled his thumbs. He had no classes to teach today and nothing else to take care of even with his Hufflepuff head of house duties. It seemed the Hufflepuff's were keeping up appearances and were not causing any trouble.
Lifting himself off the desk, he made his way to the kitchens to get two cups of tea from the house elves. "Hello Mavis, how are you?" he asked an old elf with a dirty pink bow taped to her head. She grumbled something as she shuffled her feet on the dusty floor. Smirking slightly he accepted the tea and thanked her before making his way briskly in the direction of dan's office. He knew Dan was taking his duties far to seriously recently and that he'd be in need of a break. He seemed to be juggling so many things at once that he wished he could help him in some way, but he couldn't. The pair had not even exchanged a small laugh for a few weeks and this led to a very sad pair of men. What was life without a little playtime? Even if Will and Dan used it up drinking tea?
Coughing, he then knocked on the door not noticing the voices from inside. Opening the door, he pushed it open with his bum as he concentrated hard on the cups, determined not to spill any tea. "Feet up, chat away, I brought the te...hannah" he said looking up as he said it. Frowning slightly, he saw her concerned expression and soon put the tea down on Dan's desk.
"What's the matter?" he asked, looking in between Dan and Hannah.

Hannah kept replaying the moment in her mind, turning around to find Jason pushing Ashton off the chair. Her abilities were a little rusty since she hadn't seen until seconds after it happened, almost like seeing into the past instead of the future. What happened was her fault because she insisted on placing them together as partners. She never thought Jason would go that far it was like he was spiting her for doing what he didn't want her to do.
Granted Ashton wasn't hurt by what happened but it was embarrassing and highly unfair. Hannah was simply angered that she let her guard down but she never thought she'd have to keep it up during her own class. Her powers as a seer needed sharpening that was a definite.
Dan asked her if Jason was supposed to come see him. "Yes I threw him out of the class I was just so...Anyway I told him to come see you I even sent him with a note explaining what happened. The fact that he eviscerated the note in front of me should have been the first clue that he had no intentions of doing as I asked." His remark about the punishment being up to Jason's head of house didn't make her feel any better. Her and Bree graduated from the same house but they were way different adults. Hopefully she wouldn't let Slytherin pride get in the way of what was right.
"I can't lie I wanted to hex him Dan my hand was itching to grab my wand but then I'd be no better than him." A highly mature attitude one that stunned her. The sound of the door opening again made her look up just in time to see the backside of one Will Vaid. He entered the room two cups in hand. He thought Dan would be alone.
He saw the look on her face then put the cups down on Dan's desk. Looking from Dan to her he asked what was wrong. Not having seen him in a few days she hadn't been able to tell him what happened. "I had trouble with a student and came to see Dan." She was going to add no big deal but the anger on her face would have made that a bold faced lie.

It had been an awful day so far and the way things were looking it didn't seem as though it would be picking up for the Care of Magical Creatures professor any time soon. It had started bright an early but the problem was that it wasn't bright; the skies were a sickly shade of dark gray and threatening in the most animated fashion Bree had seen in a long time. It was true that the scheduled rains were here but it didn't make it any more pleasant.
Next, Bree had been helping Dax Simmons, the grounds keeper, with his pumpkins when all of a sudden one fell on the man's hand and everything went down hill from there. They rushed to the Infirmary, job half done with the pumkins which was the most infuriating thing that had happened, where they had to wait in a queue! There was a queue in the Hospital Wing! It took ages, and poor little Nish was running his little self ragged.
Bree might have felt a hint of sorrow or pity for him but he was just taking so long that she couldn't even contemplate anything other then agitation. She cursed herself for not having paid better attention in her healing courses she had to do when she played Quidditch. Neither the professor nor the grounds keeper knew how to mend a flattened hand. So that took ages to get done and then it was back to the pumpkins, which took three times longer then it should have because Dax was simply being difficult.
Then she remember she had agreed to have tea with Dia and she was already late. Knowing that Dia wouldn't mind her muddied jeans, Bree thought it would be alright to go simply as she was. Boy was she wrong ... well, no, she wasn't wrong, she was alone! Dia wasn't there. Bree waited for a good half hour for Dia before becoming loosing it completely and throwing a house elf's tray completely across the kitchen.
Storming up the stairs, Bree knew exactly where Dia would be. "Too busy with a stupid husband to visit with a friend, aye, we'll see about that!" Bree could not have spoken with more venom in her words as she spoke to herself, cursing under her breath the poor choice her friend had made. Taking the stairs three at a time, Bree cursed the fact that there were soooo many stairs to get to the top floor where the Headmaster's office was. Eventually she got there and, without knocking, Bree wrenched the door open and stormed in.
"Where is she?" Bree demanded forcefully, glaring at Dan who was sitting at his desk. It was only then that Bree noticed that there were other people in the room: a one Prof Edgecome and a one Prof Vaid. Brianna was not in the mood for socialising today so gave them each a small nod before turning back to Hubbles. "Well?"

Post by Prof. Victoria Potter on Aug 21, 2008 2:37:32 GMT
The new semester was due to start soon. Victoria was glad for the brief interruption because she was trying to sort out her life and having to go back an forth to classes everyday was almost too much to take. It sort of exacerbated the problem especially since she felt that most of the students hated her lessons. Vicky was getting way too sensitive the older she got. She left the day after term and went home for a little while. Being around her family always made her feel better. It didn't help help her problems she was still drinking more than normal something her parents noticed. She brushed it off and somehow caused her parents to do the same.
Now she was back at school and first thing that had changed was she was made head of her old house. Vicky's jaw dropped when the news reached her ears. She knew the slot was opened but she never thought she would be chosen in a million years. So she had something to look forward to perhaps the start of something new in her life.
So she immediately started to prepare for the new term. Lesson plans had to be prepared, sign up sheets had to be created. She even had an idea about taking the kids on a field trip. Of course Victoria knew she would have to get permission for this from none other than Dan. Vicky had managed to avoid him and his new wife for some time now but seeing as how she needed him for this there was no way to do that.
She had been trying to work up the nerve all day to do it. Now seemed as good a time as any so she left the confines of her nice cozy room and headed up the stairs to see him. Hopefully she would be able to handle herself in his presence. Up the stairs she went hating the climb and hoping she didn't loose her nerve. As she got to the door she heard several voices. Was there a meeting she had forgotten about? That was the thought that came to mind as she opened the door and let herself in. Already there was Dan, Professor Vaid, Professor Edgecombe, and Professor O'Donnell. "Am I interrupting?

Dan scribbled a few more facts down on the scrap bit of parchment in front of him almost in the want of doing something to make sure he did not fall to sleep in the middle of this meeting. From the story that was being relayed to him by Hannah Mr Walker had simply gone too far, there were the simple acts of rebellion and there was just acting like a complete prat. The whole situation of burning of the letter just bemused Dan greatly and hexing Ashton secretly made Dan chuckle (Although he was glad to hear that the Ravenclaw was ok, he was a nice lad really even if he was an emo.)
Dan was about to advice Hannah on what hexs would have been best to use on a student when the door opened. His gaze flickered to the clock straight away thinking that it was far to early for Dia to be back from her tea with Bree…anyway he had not had a shower yet, she would actually kill him.
It was not Dia, but Will singing himself a little song clearly expecting it to be just the two of them, although seeing Hannah changed all that. The rumours about Will and Hannah was one of the main topics on students lips and so it did not surprise Dan that he was more concerned about Hannah being anxious then Dan looking like a zombie. When Will put the cups of tea down on the table and turned his attention to Hannah Dan greedily reached forwards and picked up a cup of tea and listened to Hannah’s brief explanation.
“Jason Walker.” Dan added as if giving Will this piece of information would make everything all clear. “He was being a typical Slytherin…no offence meant to you Hannah.”
Had Dan not read in her file that she was a Slytherin he would never have guessed, there where some who just did not suit with the whole house stereotypes and others who well…did.
‘Where is she?’
‘Speak of the devil’ Dan knew that voice all too well and just like had happened before when Bree came bursting into his office using that same impatient tone and giving him that glare that would melt the ice on the lake during the heart of winter. Things were really getting interesting. Running a hand agitatedly threw his hair Dan just stared at Bree, finding it hard to build up the will to fight back.
“Where is who?” Dan questioned, he was not sure if it was the lack of sleep but Bree’s question seemed vague. “There are a lot of females in this school professor, which one are you particularly after?”
A small smirk filled the mans face and he leaned back in his chair, slowly raising the tea cup to his lips and sipping on the warm liquid. For that briefest of moments he had forgotten all about the matter at hand and was simply enjoying watching Bree wind herself up. And it was when Dan was sitting there, sipping on his tea chuckling at Professor O’Donnell that a new voice sounded out among the crowd.
“Oh no join the party.” Dan grinned as he looked around the rather busy office, the chance of a few hours kip were out the window with this lot present, so much for a quiet afternoon “What can I do for you Vicky?”
((This may make so sense…my brain was mush when I wrote it last night and nothing i seem to do makes it any better…so I apologise for the rubbishness))

Daniel continued on where she left off when talking to Will. His comment about typical Slytherin's had her nodding her head in agreement. She didn't take offense because in her younger years she most certainly wasn't an Angel. Although, in her time she managed to keep her indiscretions confined to outside the classroom making sure there were never any witnesses, that's how she managed to get away with so much. Now there wasn't even a modicum of respect. Hannah looked over at Dan then over at Will. Somehow, she calmed some, and unfortunately, this allowed her to see the humor in what had happened. She didn't laugh aloud or let the other two in on the joke but it was still funny.
Soon the headmaster's office began to fill up with other professors most whom happened to be head of house. After Will, Bree walked in, Hannah hadn't really spoken to her much since she started working at Hogwarts mainly because she didn't think they'd have that much in common. That sad looking Professor Potter entered next. There was a lot of talk about her and her feelings for a certain headmaster not to mention talk of her having a drinking problem.
Hannah sat back in her chair her meeting with the headmaster had now become a circus. All she wanted was some action taken against a student who had messed up royally. All she could hope was that now Bree was here she'd see reason and punish the boy he deserved it despite the fact that he hadn't actually hurt anyone.

Bethany had been wandering around the green houses, trying to think of the next lesson she would be teaching. Herbology was really a waste of time. True, someone needed to weed and prune and harvest the plants needed for potions, but really, couldn't some house elf do it twice as well.
Bethany was still a little sore about the fact that she had been passed yet again for the Defense Against the Dark Arts teaching position. She had reluctantly taken the Herbology class in hopes of being closer to the school once the new DADA professor left in a hurry in the middle of the night, with his head on fire or something. Not that Bethany was actually planning anything.
Perhaps they could harvest Puffpods. No that was so, silly, so, boring. Bethany slumped into her chair. The previous professor had already tackle probably the most interesting plant, the devil's snare. It hadn't ended well, Bethany had been forewarned not to bring in any plants that could kill anyone. But where was the fun in that.
She was getting herself all worked up over nothing. But she had an idea. She grabbed her sweater and headed straight up to the Headmaster's office. She would find a loophole around this whole DADA thing and it would work.
As she climbed the stairs to the Headmaster's office she barged in without knocking, bold as she was. "Dan, really, I was thinking about having target practice with puffpods, no one would get hurt, but its a loop hole isn't it...oh." She said, looking around. "Are you throwing a party and no one told me?" She said with a smirk, seeing practically the whole faculty gathered in the office. [joining the madness!]

Brianna always dreaded meetings with the Headmaster as she has always found him to be the most insufferable man in all of existence. His smug character simply wound Bree up, even though he was the husband to one of her best friends and even though he made her so happy. It was like being at school all over again, with the tough-guy trying to be cool and her, the outcast being the weird one, purportedly. People always said that no matter where you went in life it would always be like high school and the more Bree thought about it it was true.
Still, Bree had no choice but to put up with him as he was technically her boss. For this reason Bree took a deep breath, closing her eyes and casting her face towards the ground to her left to try and gain some sort of footing in this place. She knew that Dan would take great enjoyment out of seeing her so uptight, and so he should, but she wouldn’t let him have the satisfaction. Not if she could help it. Looking back at Dan as he sat back in his seat, sipping tea and looking like he was king of the rock, Bree smiled shrewdly.
“You know very well which woman I am talking about, Headmaster,” the tall woman said, planting both her fists on her hips. “There is only one woman I have ever come to you to talk about and that is the woman who I am supposed to be having tea with right this very second and cannot find, the woman you call your wife.” Bree flicked her curly fringe out of her face, fixing her green eyes on the man behind his desk. The thought cross her mind that appearing in such a rage wearing muddied jeans and a t-shirt might not have been the best way but it was too late to dwell on that now.
Bree crossed her arms when she heard the door behind her open and she turned to see who it was, seeing then that Profs Vaid and Edgecombe were still there. The two made her sick, just as Dan and Dia did. You just don’t dip your nib into the work-place pot; one simple rule that so many seemed to forget. Her gaze past over them quickly though to the History of Magic professor that came in, looking as forlorn as ever. Honestly, the woman would just have to get over him already. It wasn’t that hard. Her question was impertinent, of course she was interrupting, just like she had. What a silly question! Bree thought, turing her back on the woman and rolling her eyes.
Dan seemed to disagree though. Typical of him to do so. He offered to help her and Bree took great offence to this. “Excuse me?” she asked with her exasperation clear in her voice. She cleared her throat and tried more carmly, “Hubbles, I do believe I was here first, she can wait.” Bree waved a hand absently in Victoria’s direction, not looking at her. When the door opened again,
Bree heaved a heavy sigh and rolled her eyes. “Good gracious!” It was yet another teacher. Was there a sign outside the door that said ‘Simply barge in, I’m not doing anything and don’t mind my time being trespassed on’. Of course, this was rich coming from a woman who had done exactly the same thing. She didn’t care about the double standards there. It was simply her way. Turning to see that the woman who had come in was the new Herbology professor, Bree gave her a big smile. “Oh yes, of course,” Bree said too sarcastically to be mistaken, waving her arms about her head and strolling around the room like a drunk, “let’s all have crumpets and tea and converse about butterflies and ganglions.”

Some people just always seemed to have a bug up their butts. Vicky tried her best to avoid people like that because they were miserable in their own lives which seemed to make others in their world just as miserable. Like the saying went misery loved company. One such woman stood in the room now, Bree. Victoria always thought she was a right bit pathetic seemingly always upset because she apparently had no one in her life where her friends seemed to be all coupled up. It was too bad because she was an attractive woman, but she was just such a...Well the word she was thinking of was apparent to her.
As Dan addressed Vicky Bree seemed to take offense and immediately started a stink about it, saying how she was first and would be dealt with accordingly. Vicky rolled her eyes wondering if they were still in school because she sure felt like it now.
"Oh yes Dan please deal with Bree first she might just wet herself if you don't." Vicky didn't scare easy especially from someone who was all talk and seemingly no bite. Folding her arms over one another Vicky waited for the princess to get her answer then the normal decent people could all have a civilized conversation. Slytherin couldn't have a better head of house she was just as horrible as those brats she'd have to manage.
Just then the door opened and yet another professor entered the fray. This one was new Vicky didn't know much about her except that she had taken over Herbology. Even this one didn't cause Bree to have any manners. What a first impression be rude and sarcastic to the new professor. Vciky chose to chime in "No not quite a party more like a little temper tantrum" she said looking pointedly at Bree.

A few moments ago it had just been her and Dan. Hannah wanted to deal with this problem and get on with the rest of her night. Then Will walked in (not that she minded) but soon there was Bree and Hannah didn't truly much care for her. Of course she gave people more than enough reason from the moment she opened her mouth. Hannah was already starting to get a headache. There was pounding starting from the left side slowly working its was around to the rest of her head. Then Potter showed up, weepy weak willed Potter pining over a man who didn't want her. Talk about her drinking habit wasn't that flattering either, but somehow she managed to become Head of Gryffindor. This came as a shock to to Hannah but she kept that opinion to herself.
Too many bodies in one room only one thing could happen from there. The arguing started, Bree lashing out because she was feeling over looked. Vicky trying to prove she wasn't a push over by mouthing off. Suddenly she was transported back to her school days when Gryffindors and Slytherins spent their time arguing. Hannah was simply getting annoyed by the whole damn thing.
Of course it wasn't over a new teacher entered the room. More fighting. Hanna had enough and stood up. 'Oh for pity's sake. First of all Bree I was actually here first so if Dan needs to deal with someone it should be me. Second this is getting ridiculous fighting like a bunch of kids. Third I'm actually here Bree because of one of your students. Jason Walker who hexed a student in my class. Also he set fire to a note I'd given him to give to Dan and never showed up to see Dan after I had specifically told him to do so. So why don't we deal with that right now."
She wasn't letting that go, the boy had gone too far and that's why she was here. She didn't feel like dealing with Bree but Bree was his HOH and it was up to her to punish him. The boy deserved punishment, he disrespected a student as well as his professor. From what she heard Bree wasn't too nice to some of her own Slytherins when they made comments about a staff member.
Hannah sat back down breathing hard trying to hold her temper in check. She did a good job of not truly flipping out her blood was boiling, her head pounding worse.

“Oh Dia.” Dan stated trying to act the innocent and completely oblivious to what had been going on, not that he had to act all that hard due to the lack of sleep the poor man was a bit slower then normal. “I thought she was having tea with you?” Clearly she was not; otherwise Bree would not be standing in his office with a look that would turn milk sour in ten seconds flat, however the poor headmaster did not have much time to dwell on the uppity Care of Magical Creatures for long as yet another Professor walked into his office.
Trying to stop himself from yawning at the entrance of the new arrival Dan turned his bloodshot eyes towards the new Herbology teacher, his face one of slight bemusement as he kept running through his mind what he thought he had heard her say.
“Target practise with puffapods?” Dan stared at the young witch completely ignoring her point about there being a party that she had not been invited too. “Why would you want to do target practise on puffapods? I mean they would just explode and burst into flower…” The sentence became a murmur as he thought on it more and his imagination was kicked into overdrive and he could just imagine a row of students firing spells at pink blobs and then them immediately bursting into flowers, now that would be a fun Herbology lesson. “Bethany you have my permission that lesson sounds like it would be rather fun!”
A slightly crazy smile spread across the mans face as he rested his head back again the high back of the chair and closest his eyes. It would have been so simple for Dan to just fall to sleep right then but suddenly the room seemed to burst into life, teachers shouting at one another in the want of attention. Dan was normally one to relish situations like this, being the centre of everyone’s attention, everyone demanding that he listened to them but right now the only thing Dan wanted was sleep and these squabbling Professors were not letting him have that.
Hannah however seemed to be the one to take control and shot out of her seat and gave Bree a good going over, he knew it was wrong but at one point Dan wanted to burst out into a round of applause to agree with the Divination Professor. Yet it was something she said in the middle of her little rant that made the clogs grudgingly click over and with wide eyes and almost astonishment Dan turned to look up a Bree.
“Bree your head of Slytherin house!” A simple fact that everyone in the room knew but for some reason Dan had to say it out loud to believe it himself. “Well then we need you, never thought I would hear myself saying that, but you having that nice little title, which might I add I gave you, have the responsibility to punish this rascal.” Dan placed the tea cup down on his desk and grinned up at Bree. “Although if you make a decision I disagree with I am perfectly entitled to go over your head and make up my own punishment.”
