(Hogsmeade) Snow Covered Streets

[Maeve Malfoy]

She pouted at him slightly, something she rarely did to anyone. "Now, come on. What's with the whole 'Miss' thing?" she hated it when people were proper to her. She wasn't exactly great with helping people with their problems unless she had the same one, she knew that much. "Good thing I'm not hoping for normal than. I may like simple things, but sometimes complexity is neat. Oh, and everyone's normal in someway." she grinned again. "You just have to find it first, just like a talent."

She nodded once more. "Yup, we've got one. Every Malfoy is given a copy of it, too. I read mine a few times, but then I lost it." she rolled her eyes, implying she more than lose it. Perhaps even burn it, but she wasn't about to say that. "You'd make a good Malfoy, I'd agree, although you'd be disobeying a lot of rules just for being a Gryffindor. Not that I haven't disobeyed more than half the rules anyway as it is." she laughed. "I'll be sure to tell you if I was given warning."

"Simple curiosity of a baby. He wants to learn how things work, therefore he does them wrong." she smiled.

Looking over at him, her finger stilled against the stone. "Really? You'd trust me with a place like this and not tell anyone?" Not that there's really anyone I'd tell. she added silently in her mind. "Thanks. That's really kind of you. I'll be sure to come and visit you here." she gave him a small smile.

"I dont know its just something i say usually" he told her, he hadnt meant any offence by the whole 'Miss' calling thing, though found himself smiling when he caught her pout. "Well you wont find normality with me, only strangeness, weirdness and probably a hell load of fun" he shrugged, he was always up for doing something he shouldnt, "though fun of late seems to have gone out of the window as my partner in crime, also known as Maxi, has been stolen" he laughed. It wasnt the same causing havok without Maxi, it just wasnt the same doing it alone.

"Lost it?" Mark asked, rasing his eyebrow again, "Or purposly lost it?" Mark laughed when she said he'd make a good Slytherin, Mark thought of a lot of things to say back to that but only came up with one, "Would it go in my favour that my sister is in Slytherin? Or would that just be abnormal?" Though Mark didnt really like the thought of being tortured, it seemed worth the risk, after all, Mark was a risk taker.

"They say curiosity killed the cat, i think in this case curiousity will kill the baby" he laughed.

"Yeah, i wouldnt have brought you here otherwise would i?" He said, "And besides, you remind me of me. In the sense like you need to get away sometimes and just be by yourself, or with someone you feel comfy with, though i would appreciate it if this could be little knowlege to everyone else, i like having a place thats mine, if you understand?"

She pouted slightly more when she saw him smiling, although through the pouting she was smiling, too. "I'm sure I'll find some sort of trace normality in you. Even if it takes me a long time." she nodded. "It does leave when your partner leaves, doesn't it? Ashy used to help me a bit, although he sucks at getting away with stuff. I have to make up the excuses whenever we go pranking together and we get caught." she laughed. "Though it is quite fun seeing him stutter his way into a detention." she put her finger to her lips. "But, don't go telling him that."

She smiled mischievously. "Lets just say I don't think I want to spend my life time finding the tiny remains." she giggled slightly. "Unfortunately, that would be just abnormal and they would frown upon you." she poked at him. "One of the rules is 'A Malfoy heir sorted into any house but Slytherin is to be disowned and the family started over.'" she quoted directly from the book. "You'd be disowned quickly and thrown out of the manor."

She playfully shook her head. "If I had a little brother, I'd keep him in view of my sight. Especially if he sticks wands up his nose."

"I do understand. I have a place like this deep in the Forbidden Forest. Not a lot of people go as far out as it is because they think the creatures will attack them for being on their territory. Maybe I can show you after your lesson tomorrow." she suggested.

"I somehow doubt that" Mark laughed, though he knew he had his normal side, but his abnormal side was much more interesting and a damn sight more fun to be around too. "Well Ashton does seem to be a little on the innocent side, but it suits him" Mark told her, "Maxi and me never spent a day out of detention when we were in Durmstrang, the head there hated us and often threatened to throw us out. Though he never did, we gave him a head full of grey hair, it was fun. Though Maxi left and the head began to destress a bit because i cooled off. Though then another guy we used to hang around with sorta starting in on the pranking business so things started again, though we used to prank him too, because he was trying to be Maxi and it just wasnt working. Then i left and apparently things have gotten pretty dull without us. I keep thinking i might go back for my last year.. Though i dont know yet. Something might stop me and keep me here yet, but if it doesnt im gone" he laughed.

"Hey, tiny bits of Mark, spread me across the world" Turning it into a joke like he usually did, "Well id say you should do what you want and not go by this rule book of yours" He said truthfully, though he knew disrespecting the family name was a difficult thing to do. His father too had a thing about things like that, he resented Mark for being in Gryffindor and also wasnt too fond of his daughter Belle for being in Ravenclaw. Though Alexis, being in Slytherin was the apple of his eye. It made Mark sick to his stomache. "Well at least i could say i had a foot in the door" he laughed again,

"I try! But the creep manages to evade me, god only knows how though."

"Well, yeah i was in there and nearly got eaten by a werewolf. I can see why nobody will venture very far. Personally i think those Rogues are either very brave, strong or stupid. Or possibly all three. Though showing me this place, i think i would like that too"

[Maeve Malfoy]

She smirked. "Watch me." she left it at that. Maeve liked having a small challenge. Especially when it was trying to see another side of someone no one else sees much. She's done that with many people. She didn't think it would be too hard getting him to show his other side, though something told her it would be quite the long and difficult challenge. "I hope something stops you from going back." she smiled. "I bet Maxi and Ashy will miss you a lot if you leave. And I bet I will, too, after I get to know you better."

"I rarely go by the book." she said, thinking of all the rules she's disobeyed, figuring it'd be easier to think of the ones she hasn't pushed aside as of yet. "Foot in the door's better than nothing, Mark."

"You're being outsmarted by a baby. How does it feel?" she joked.

"I'll be sure to bring you there safely as I can then." she laughed. "There are two ways we can get there. Safest way is flying; the other way is walking, obviously."

Okay, so Mark had inadvertantly given this girl a challenge, but now he found himself wondering just how far she would go to prove her point. Well Mark was not going to make it easy for her, "Ill be watching" he smirked. "I dont know, Maxi will miss me yeah, but Ashton i dont think will we dont really know each other and besides, Maxi ill see over the holidays anyway i always do. So i dont think it would bother him that much especially while he has Ashton" He shrugged, he wasnt bothered really about leaving and going to other places and meeting new people. Even though he wouldnt be going anywhere new, or meeting anyone new,

"Well at least you know what you want, or partially anyway" He said bluntly. Whereas Mark, he didnt have a clue. He didnt know what he wanted out of life, and lets face it, he didnt have long to decide. He didnt know what sort of girl he was looking for, if any, which at the moment was not very high on his priority list. "Well yeah i guess it is"

"I feel like a dimwhitted duck"

"No flying" He said fast, "I think walking will do me fine" he laughed.

[Maeve Malfoy]

Maeve stuck her tongue out a little bit. "I still think Maxi and Ashy will miss you. Honestly, do you not think that Ashton will try to get to know his boyfriend's friend better?" she scoffed mockingly. "He's going to try at least a little. And then, you'll get to know him, too, and he's going to miss you if you leave." she tried to reason.

She smirked, challengingly. "How do I seem that I know what I want out of life?" she didn't know a lot of what she wanted. Only that she wanted out of her family binds, wanted to become known for her talents, not her name, and maybe have a family. Although, the last one's still in the air. At least the timing of it is. Not too soon, yet not too late.

"I'll happen to tell you, a few us would feel the same way."

She grinned. "After you get over your fear of heights, then we'll fly to it. Until then, we can walk. I have no problem in that. Sometimes flying there takes out all the adventure and spell practicing."

"Careful with that tongue someone might bite it off one day" Mark smiled as he stood leant against the wall in a secluded place he had managed to find. He liked it here, but he knew it did get lonely sometimes. Though at least now he had someone to share that with. "Ash will have Max and Max, Ash. They will deal" he said with a shrug, "And besides, i just dont think Hogwarts is my thing anymore. Its not what it was once cracked upto be" Mark smiled, "Though i might stay"

"No what i meant was, you know that you dont want to be stuck by your families rule, that doesnt mean you know what you want properly. Though it does open many different doors for you to walk through. Though it goes without question, will you walk through the one you want, or the one your pressured to walk through" He knew what Malfoys were like, they had family honour to live upto. Mark knew what that once was like, his family too had that up in France but things happened and it was lost. Prearranged marriages and things. So many times Mark had nearly been wed. He shuddered at the thought.

"Being outsmarted by a baby..." He shook his head, "Well it can happen to the best of us"

[Professor Ashton Laurent]

Ashton smiled as he wandered through Hogsmeade, it was a chilly day, but not too chilly. He'd had a long week, and had decided to go have a bit of fun. Looking up from the ground, Ash spotted Maeve and Mark talking. With a mischievous grin, Ash ducked behind a barrell that was about 10 feet away from them, and covered himself with his invisibilitycloak. Pulling out his wand, Ash snickered, muffling it with his hand. Although that was pretty much useless. Ash had a very distinctive laugh. Sort of raspy and throaty, quite hard to hide actually. Quickly stoping his laughing, he pulled out his wand and pointed it at Maeve. Time for a little fun... he thought to himself, as he waved his wand. If he had done it right, the next time Maeve tried to talk, she would bray like a donkey! Ashton waited in anticipation to see if his little trick would work.

Maeve smiled at Mark. "I've been threatened like that before. No one's ever done it, though, now have they?" she laughed. She walked over to him and put a small hand on his shoulder. "They'll still miss you. You can't win this fight." she looked at him as if challenging him to try and win.

"I'll make my own way, of course. What about you?"

Maeve felt a small tingling in her throat then. She opened her mouth to say something and an animal sound came out. She closed her mouth and whipped around. She had a feeling of who had changed her voice, but couldn't see him. Luckily for her, a friend of hers taught her a spell. She smirked, taking out her wand, and thought of a pretty simple spell and the person she thought it was. She felt the tingling sensation again, but this time her smirk remained. She wouldn't be able to talk for a few hours, but that was well worth the price.

The person would have an un-removable, just-have-to-wait-it-out, cracking voice.

She turned around to Mark again, and walked over to the snow covered wall. She took the tip of her wand and wrote out what she was going to say. "Then walking it is."

[Professor Ashton Laurent]

Ashton's eyes widened in horror as he realised that the joke was now on him. Sighing in deafeat, Ash came out from his hiding place, and silently begged Maeve to undo the jinx.

"Still i'd be careful, you never know who is brave enough to actually do it do you?" Mark smiled at Maeve, the crack between them both was something Mark had missed, he used to have it with so many people but everyone had seemed to have lost their sense of humour. "Well i guess we'll have to see who will win this fight wont we?" he smirked, poking her gently on her nose.

"Well im never one for doing what people expect me to do" He smiled, "Saying that im not usually one for doing what others want me to do either, so i guess i could have cut this sentance short by simply saying, the same thing as you" he shrugged and leant back on the wall.

Mark watched her with slight interest as she seemed to open her mouth to say something. However, what came out of her mouth was not quite what he was expecting, "Well ive had girls make animal noises at me, but never one like that, or in such a situation as this" he laughed. Mark had no idea Ash was hiding and messing about with her, though he must admit he found it entertaining.

Mark looked at the wall and saw what she wrote, smiling he took out his own and wrote underneath, "Lake, tomorrow, 3PM ".

Mark turned as Ashton came out and saw his pleading look. Laughing he looked between them both. "Nice party trick"

Ashton turned to face Mark, a smirk playing delicately on his lips, and sapphire eyes glinting with mischief. Let's see how ticklish he is... he thought to himself, a smirk displaying itself fully. Quickly, quietly and wandlessly, Ashton cast a Tickling Charm towards his friend.

[Maeve Malfoy]

"Oh, there are few who actually are." she returned the smile Mark gave her. She shook her head a bit when he poked her nose. "But we already know who's going to win." she grinned. "Me."

She giggled slightly. "Yeah, you could have just said that."

Maeve playfully glared at Mark at his comment and stuck out her tongue. She mouthed, 'Very funny, Mark.' and couldn't help but smile.

She looked back at what he wrote and nodded, wiping away the words. She turned back to Mark and tried to laugh at his joke, but nothing came out. She mouthed, 'Yeah, maybe you should try it out.'
