Sarie who had stayed quiet though most of the class. "They used in potions also they can help keep fire going if needed." She head thinking that was the answer. She wasn't very good in this class. Unless they where handling something used in potions. She couldn't remember the important thing about salamanders other than the lived in fires.

Alexis couldn't help but feel pleased at gaining 10 points from her house. One thing she would always have was her brain and quick wit. Not that it truly set her apart from the other Ravenclaws in her house, they were all just as smart just as quick witted. No matter out of all the ones in this class right now she was the only one to gain them any points so it was a victory in her own mind.
As the professor went on she asked another question and before Alexis could formulate another correct answer a Gryffindor took control. Trying not to grimace Alexis listened intently like a good student should and nodded when the professor admitted the girl was correct. The salamanders needed to be fed peppers. Well duh what else would they eat anyway.
She wondered if that's what they would be doing today, feeding them or something. Not that she minded it would make for an easy enough lesson. So she waited for the professor to go on and give them their instructions. Instead she asked them another question, wanting someone to tell her why salamanders were so sought after.
Again Alexis took time to formulate and answer when yet another Gryffindor stole the spot light. This time it was Sarie. Alexis did grimace this time, but she changed her face right away. She had to get on her game again, if points were to be had she wanted to get them for Ravenclaw.

As Bree looked up at the Gryffindor girl who spoke to answer her question she got a sense of having seen what she was seeing before. De ja vu. It was never a pleasant feeling and Bree shook her head, trying to get rid of the feeling. It wouldn't shake though. And then the picture she was seeing changed to a darker, damp part of the forest and a deep dark hole ....
Bree stumbled backwards, eyes shut tightly. She bumped into the over turned tree that was a few feet behind the group and held onto it tightly to the damp moss-covered bark as her other hand moved to her sweat-dappled forehead. She stayed like that for a moment ... breathing heavily, but then she thought about how her class must be seeing her now and, taking a deep breath and putting on a brave face, Bree dropped her raise hand and smiled at the Gryffindor once more.
"That's almost right, Thimble," Bree told her breathlessly. "Salamanders blood has powerful curative and restorative properties so most healers know how to harvest the blood without actually harming the creature itself." Bree drew a deep breath and, looking around the group standing around the smoking mound, she continued. "It's always important, because they're so rare, to keep them alive as long as possible. Special precautions have to be taken though when handling these creatures. Can anyone think of what some of those are?"
Bree knew she couldn't talk for very much longer ... these attacks were coming more often now a days. The end was nigh and she had to keep her composure. It was exactly like the oracle had predicted. Taking a deep breath, Bree had to focus on the faces in front of her to keep her head from spinning off. "The hatching will commence shortly, we'd all best be ready to hide when it does happen." Brianna warned.
