Rebecka had been running for so long she had almost forgotten what she was running from. Or where she was running to. Her life had been flipped upside down in one night. Something she never thought possible. How can someone's life just change over night? Everything she ever believed in was gone now, and she only had herself left. I'd better make the most of it then, she thought as she ducked under tree branches and stepped over tree roots. The forest she was in seemed somewhat clammy, though at the same time, cold.
It had been over a year since Becki had left her village in California, she thought she may have been safer from whoever it was that attacked them, by coming to England. What she didnt realise was, she was only coming closer to them. Ignorance is bliss right? Becki hadnt had a decent night's sleep in what seemed like forever. Washing in lakes and streams, which, since she had been here she hadnt seen a single stream, let alone a lake. She didnt know where she was or what she was getting herself into, she didnt know either, that this forest was full of people like Rebecka, full of people who resented the Ministry for one reason or another.
Becki stopped and leant against a tree, closing her eyes for a minute and trying to get her breath, she was cold, tired and very hungry. She felt like she didnt have an ounce of strength, and it was beginning to show too. She felt weak, and was sure if anyone attacked her now, she wouldnt be able to defend herself. She didnt even know if she had the strength to lift her wand anymore. She was lost, and she knew she was.

(ooc hope you don't mind me joining =) welcome to the Rogues' humble abode)
People were too often contented to live their lives as they always had done, the same thing day in day out, ignoring the truth about them; hoping it would just go away. Some refused to believe the Ministry was corrupt, they just couldn't deal with the reality, others actually believed the Ministry was still fine, or maybe they themselves liked what the Ministry was up to?
Gobien didn't know, and he'd try to say he didn't care for those too stupid to look past their own nose, but even his tone of voice would show he lied. He in fact cared too much for the general public as a whole; even muggles. He was fighting for a cause many despised and few really loved, but he knew within his heart that he was fighting for the right side. His life was messy to say the least, it wasn't 'normal' like others, but he adored it and wouldn't change it for the world. Even the fear of waking with a noose about his neck wasn't enough to deter him, because he was fighting for a cause greater than himself, and any single individual.
Yet lately the Rogues had suffered a couple of setbacks, their efforts to disturb the Ministry had been redoubled, only the Ministry had quadrupled their defences around the forest. They'd been outnumbered before, now it was just ridiculous, unless their latest efforts of propaganda were a success. They needed recruits, if times got too desperate they would have to call upon the students, but Gobien was thoroughly against endangering them. Sure he'd scare them, but not cause them physical harm unless they attacked him first.
The Ministry's patrols were out in force today it seemed as Gobien lurked up in the bows of a tree as a trio of officials passed on by, luckily they didn't think to look up. Waiting patiently for them to be a safe distance away he dropped lightly to the ground, rolling to break his fall. Leaving the gathering mud encrusted upon him, for it worked as decent camoflage Gobien moved off deeper, he was returnin from his solitary hunt though he told others to stay in small groups he knew that one man was less likely to be caught, and he cared less for his own skin than his companions.
Hearing the whispers of a noise up ahead he at first thought his senses were just too stretched and lack of sleep was making him imagine the sound, but then it came again; footsteps. He'd been in this forest long enough to hear the tell tale sound, even if the footfall was light. Creeping closer he moved along swiftly to catch up, it sounded like they were alone, for he could perceive only one footfall, maybe he could ambush a solitary Ministry official? Picking his way carefully through the undergrowth he stopped, hearing the footsteps had ceased, crouching he cautiously moved forward, ears straining to pick up the quietest sounds. Poking his head through a bush he imagined he looked quite comical as he espied his quarry; a young lady stood up against a tree, she seemed nearly as weary as himself, if not more so. From her garb she didn't look Ministry, but looks could always be deceiving of course, yet he was too curious and hoped he'd be able to escape anyway.
Throwing caution to the wind he straightened then teetered through the bush crashing to the ground as his coat caught upon the thorns, it would be Gobie's luck to stumble into a prickly rosebush. "Youch," he cried quite softly as he pulled himself free of the ensnaring plant. Lying upon the ground he looked up at the girl with a smile, "Jake Gobien at your service," he said cheerily holding up a hand for her to help him up; that would be the first test...

((I dont mind )
Sometimes Becki wondered what she was doing. Even if she did find the people who more or less destroyed her life, there were far too many of them to take by herself. She knew this, and yet she didnt care. All she wanted was to avenge the deaths of those she cared about, those she loved. There had been children in the village that night, but whoever attacked them, didnt even seem to care.
True, Becki didnt know a thing about the Ministry, that would make it easier for her, true, Bex didnt care about the Ministry. She didnt know who was involved with them, why they did the things they did. What did it matter, they seemed to be the highest level of just plain evil at the moment. Sighing, Becki let these thoughts run free around her mind. She even didnt try to stop the thought of, If you stand here much longer they will probably find you and kill you. She really did not care anymore.
The forest seemed like a sanctuary to her. Sort of homely, yet she didnt know why. It didnt feel safe and yet it did at the same time. She didnt understand, what this feeling of security was, security yet weariness at the same time. It was confusing. She could feel dangerous prescences all around her, but felt like they were no danger to herself. What is this place she wondered. She had been in many forests on her travels but none as strange as this.
What was the point of trying to understand? She wasnt going to, the people who had the answers she wanted also wanted her dead, so it wasnt like she could just walk upto them and throw questions at them, expecting to get the answer. That would just be idiotic on more than one level.
Stood there, by the tree, eyes closed. She was trying to listen for things, and she felt as though she was being watched. A worthless feeling to feel because as she opened her eyes to look around she saw no-one. Until someone stood up and was coming through the rosebush. She didnt know who he was and put her hand inside her coat, grasping hold of her wand and looking at the male suspiciously. He didnt look like anyone that had attacked her home, but she still didnt know who he was and therefor was going to take no chances. Watching him carefully, she didnt expect him to fall over, a smile tugged at her lips and a simple giggle escaped her. Her eyes widened in pure amusement as she heard him say 'Youch'. Jake Gobien? So that was this guys name, she had never heard of him. Putting her wand back in her coat she grasped his hand and pulled him to his feet, "Rebecka McDyne" she said with a smile.

Nestled in a pile of well placed leaves Gobien looked up at the shimmering angel before him. He found it hilarious that a shaft of light illuminated her, radiating her natural beauty. If he'd have knocked his head he'd have guessed she truly was an angel for a split second. Then he remembered her shabby garb, she looked like he felt, but like him her eyes were still dancing and very much alive. Thinking of things they had in common at this early stage wouldn't be a good sign for most people, but Gobien always did it, flirting in particular came as naturally as breathing to him. That's why Jake shot her a winning smile as she easily helped him up.
Dusting himself off, much as if it would make any difference to his appearance whatsoever, he grinned, "you sure know how to whisk a man off his feet," he commented, "but those roses were pretty sharp, not as sharp as you I'd imagine."
"So what brings you to our humble abode? I warn you now, if you're Ministry, and I sincerely hope not cause I'd hate to punch such a pretty face, but just in case you are then you'd better scarper right now." He grinned showing he meant no particular offense, but that he did mean business, if she crossed his path then he would deal with her, looks or even personality wouldn't deter him.
"You look like you've travelled a fair distance, the main question is why?" He pondered, half posing the question to her but also to himself. But she'd done him a kindness by simply helping him up, that was enough for him, for now. Delving into one of his pockets he chuckled, "don't worry I'm not getting out anything nasty, in fact I imagine you'll like it a lot." From a pocket he withdrew a small juicy apple, one of the many that Addis had kindly given him. Tossing it to her with a comforting smile he advised her to "enjoy it while it lasts." For he remembered when he'd eaten an apple for the first time in ages, it had tasted like heaven on earth. He had pressing questions for her, if she would respond but he hoped she'd be open and divest her secrets anyway, at least any she could afford to give up.

This forest was old, she could feel it in her very being. Things resided here that had done for more time than she could possibly imagine. Though yet she still felt safe. She looked down at the man on the floor, whom she now knew as Jake. At least if nothing else she knew his name which was something, and he knew hers too. She helped him up and watched as he brushed himself down, pushing her hair from her face she took in his appearance now, it was almost certain he wasnt with the Ministry. He looked just as shabby as she, but this did not mean that it wouldnt be some for of trick.
"Well ive had practise when it comes to men" she spoke softly, though not meaning it in a flirtatious manner. She wasnt going to flirt with this guy, at least not just yet. "I imagine a few rose thorns wouldnt do much damage, you look as though you've been dragged through many, and if i do say so, backwards"
"You needent worry about me being in the Ministry" she commented, though when the word ministry came off her tongue, it sounded dry and icy. "So im guessing i do not have to worry about you punching me in the face either, i came here purely by coincidence" she told him, it was true, she hadnt planned on coming here, she didnt even know this place exsisted.
"You are right, i have travelled far, but i am not about to divulge my life story to a complete stranger now am i? I would not expect it off you either" She didnt trust him, not because she didnt want to, but because she learnt trust had to be gained, and she didnt know this man so he could easily not be who he says he was. She watched a little suspicously as he put his hand into his pocket. Rebecka caught the apple and looked at it for a moment, it had been a while since she had eaten anything. She looked back up at him and gave him a warm smile, "Thankyou" she spoke softly, but the gratitude in her voice was non-mistakeable. She rolled the apple around in her hands for a moment, feeling its silky texture and gingerly bit into it. It felt good to finally have something to eat, but now she was eating she realised just how hungry she was, "I suppose you have many questions" she looked at him, it wasnt a question, more of a statement.

Post by Jake Gobien on Nov 18, 2007 16:05:21 GMT
Continually picking spiky thorns from his coat, he found a single flower and shurgging said, "well I don't think this will suit me," he passed it over with a slight grin not much caring if she just dropped it or not, it wasn't as if taking a flower from off of his coat was a major effort. When she almost bitterly spoke of her experiences with men Gobien spoke bluntly, "well I hope they weren't all bad experiences, but knowing my sex like I do I'm guessing some of them weren't all that nice." He grinned though, it seemed she wasn't thoroughly against a little harmless flirtation like some women could be.
Laughing Gobien guessed she'd pretty much sized him up already, "you'd be right about that, unfortunately I've found myself in a few scuffles, sometimes they come off worse." He laughed, it was better than crying when he thought of the things he had had to do. Some of the fights he'd been engaged in hadn't been pretty, the brutality had scarred any there who had a heart; he'd been cut deep.
He didn't believe her when she claimed she wasn't Ministry, he didn't have to believe because he knew by the way she spat out their name, that couldn't be an act. "I believe you," he spoke softly looking into her eyes, swearing he could see the pain and hurt caused by them glistening there. It nearly sprang a tear to his eyes as he could so easily imagine numberless ways that they could have affected her.
Brightening his tone again, and tossing aside the darkness that threatened to engulf him whenever he thought deeply about the Ministry he spoke lightly, but meant his words in all seriousness, "perhaps fate has drawn you here, to us." He didn't know if he believed in a higher power or not really, all he knew was some of the things he'd seen had been utterly strange and inexplicable, at least he'd found them impossible to explain and hadn't the time nor the inclination to think on them much.
Gobien chuckled, she'd said just what he would too, "I didn't expect you to, in fact if you had I'd think you a complete fool," he grinned. "Course I wouldn't mind divulging a load of what's happened to me, only it'd get boring in places, disgusting in others and would just take a long while...not that I'm old or anything." He hastened to add, Jake was always very particular about his age, he hated people thinking he was too old for something. But being thought of as older, and sometimes wiser, had it's advantages, he could tell others what to do, and they'd even listen from time to time.
Warmly smiling as Rebecka hesitantly bit into the apple, he wondered for a moment if she feared posion, he knew he'd never poison someone, not even Detrich herself, but of course Rebecka wouldn't know that. "My pleasure, I know exactly how it feels, so juicy when you haven't had one since, I don't even know when." Grinning Gobien answered, "you suppose right there, only you won't want to answer many now will you?" He knew the feeling and guessed she had many questions of her own.
"What do you know of the Ministry?" He asked abruptly to throw her a little off balance, "other than their being arrogant buggers and completely corrupt I mean. Cause that's the thing that many people overlook, even rogues," he bedgrudingly admitted, " we think they're all answerable to the Ministry's crimes, every single person who works for them. But the Ministry is a huge governing body, it's the tip top that we must replace," he said with evident fervour, "then we can work our way down, sorting through." He shook his head, "that's the dream isn't it? But we're so far from it's completion, if we ever do manage it even. Right now we need to focus upon the present, and causing as much disruption as possible." That was the mission for most rogues, yet he knew that wasn't enough, if Rebecka proved trustworthy and loyal perhaps he'd have a job for her, but then again maybe she'd remain a solitary hunter.
He might have been putting too much of his own situation upon her, but he still believed his words of guidance might help as he really regailed how he'd first been as he paced about gesticulating, "Fighting alone is easier in a way, nobody to worry or care about, one person can go where a group cannot. It's lonely though," now he stopped and his keen blue eyes looked deeply into hers, "so very lonely, love leaves you completely, you believe you'll never find it again." Looking up at the sky for a moment Jake dragged his gaze back to Rebecka, "breakaway from being alone, allow yourself to care for others again, risk the hurt," he urged he'd asked a lot of himself at the time, now he was probably asking a lot from her too, he didn't even know how true his words could ring. "It's worth it." He finished with a small smile thinking about his new companions that he knew he was beginning to care too much for, he risked hurt, but he had made unity that couldn't be broken, least he hoped not.

Taking the flower with a slight smile Bex said, "No, i dont think its your colour." Becki looked down at it, in the place she wanted to go back to so much, these bloomed all year round. Making the small village have a flowery scent to it, and this flower just reminded her of that. "No, some of them weren't very nice at all" she said with a laugh, "But you know mens weak points, knee them once in the right place, you can have them keeling for hours"
"Well in a way that's better, if they pick a fight with you and it comes to that sort of brutality, better them than you" It was a cold expression to have but she couldnt help it. She'd always been taught to put others before yourself, and if that meant others got more pain than herself while she was fighting them, then that was her just being nice.
Becka shrugged, she wasnt out here to prove anything to him so it didnt really matter to her that much if he believed her or if he didnt. She looked back down at the rose, her brown eyes scanning its petals, finding an ant crawling on it she let it run up her finger so she could put it safely back on the tree.
"Fate?" she said sceptically, she didnt believe in such things. The things that brought her here was her will and legs. She couldnt even tell you where she had been most of the time, it was all more or less a blur to her now, so much had happened in the space of a year. It was almost sickening.
"Nice to know your blunt" she said with a smile, it was nice to know someone else spoke what they thought instead of hiding it in fear of what someone else may feel or think. "Just because you've seen a lot of things in your life doesnt make you old" she said with a raised eyebrow, she could only assume people liked to call him old, "People like to call you old do they?" she laughed.
Becki, though quite hungry, didnt eat the whole thing, the conversation she was having was filling her hunger more than anything. She sighed as she looked down at the apple, "For a while" she laughed halfheartedly. "I'll answer as many as i feel i can" she gave a shrug, true there were certain things she didnt want to speak about, certain things she wouldnt say.
"I think you just summed it up for me" she smiled, he asked her a question yet answered it himself, "They are scoundrels who are only after more and more power and will stop at nothing to get what they want. They dont care of peoples lives or anything anymore." She shook her head angrily. "I believe theyre after more power. Though why when the run the wizarding world anyway i do not know" Becka was squeezing the apple, it made her insides churn whenevershe thought of the Ministry, "Im sorry i dont know what they have done here, i only know what happened where i came from. Though i have to agree, anyone tied with the ministry are able to answer for the ministry's crimes, as the ministry is just an organisation its the people in it who make it how it is." He had a different dream than Becki had, all she wanted to do was go in there with a nuclear bomb, set it, run off, and then watch the building blow up. This thought made her smile, of course she wouldnt do that, it was something out of a Muggle action show or something.
"Its harder to gets yourself killed if your not worrying about others" she said simply. Which was true, it was, Rebecaka always wanted the company of others but when it came down to it she didnt know if she could. It was difficult, everyone was fighting the Ministry for different reasons, and eventually those differences would clash. She knew it was lonely, she had been alone for the past year, never stopping in one place for more than a day. Never speaking to anyone, in fact she had forgotten her voice box worked. A tear began to well up in her eyes though she angrily blinked it back and furrowed her brow. "I'll find it, once this is all over" she said, but in a way she didnt want to. There was only ever one person Rebecka loved and she wanted to keep it that way. Though, she knew you couldnt help who you fall for. She looked at Jake, a blank expression on her face. Care for others? Part of her wanted that, part of her didnt know if she had it in her, "What makes you think i wont run at the first opportunity?" she asked. She needed to know she could trust him at least a little bit, before she made any rash decisions.

Addis appeared before Gobien could answer, his eyes looking at the two with a bemused smile on his face. He had heard the two voices from not to far away after diverting from a patrol of three Officials which he had delt with swiftly. They didn't expect a man to take them down from above. Silly fools.
Now he was standing and leaning against a tree, his face his own with his hair cut short, clean shaven and looking clean, as clean as one can be when running through a dirty forest. He knew that the girl wouldn't recognise him, for he had shifted his face from professor to rogue before he entered the forest, the power now solely belonging to him since Darrow knew of his operations. He laughed, looking at Gobien and knowing his usual exploits with pretty girls.
He jumped down from the tree and stood next to Gobien, reaching into his shirt and giving the man a piece of parchment. He smiled. 'This weeks redone roster. That's why you ran into those three stooges back there.' He said with a smile, turning to look at the girl now. 'I doubt you'd recognise me, this one here doesn't half the time as he doesn't know what face I'll be, but you met me in the Three Broomsticks not to long ago.'
He crossed his arms and smiled. 'This is me, the real me, who I am. This is my face, my eyes, my skin, my hair.' He said all that quickly, bowing as an afterthought. 'Believe me when I say this, if Gobien hasn't managed to convince you to join us, I think the information you're seeking and an article and name that I came across will help convince you, especially since there is more than just you and your revenge in mind. I know where this person is, we can help you get to him.'
Addis looked at Gobien, his smile fading and nodded. The roster wasn't redone, it was the article on what happened to the girl and her family and the one behind it all. Addis smiled grimly and shook his head, not believing what he had found out.
'He has to die, too big a target to let go when he's so close !' Addis said in a flat tone, wand in hand and ready. 'I know where he is. We just need more than just me to get to him. Your call.'
((ooc: Sorry to barge in like this, all innocent intentions implied of course Just thought to throw in the mix and create some drama, lol. There is no name at the moment for "He" so if you guys want, you can make one up then we can create an account and go from there... Hopefully this makes sense?))

((Wow well that confused the living daylights out of me for a few minutes... But it makes sense now... I think..))
Rebecka looked towards another man as he came closer to the two of them. Stepping back slightly, she had only just gotten used to this other guy. Now she had to contend with someone else too? She knew she had never seen him around before, the confident attitude he had, she wouldnt easily forget.
She tried to study the man, in some way he seemed almost familiar to her, but she knew she did not recognise his voice. Gripping tight on her wand, though she knew she wouldnt have to use it, it just made her feel a little bit more relaxed knowing she at least had it at her disposal. The man started to laugh, though Becki could see nothing funny, so she raised an eyebrow.
"No, your right i dont recognise you" she spoke slowly. His next words did not really register in her mind for a little bit as she tried to remember who she had met back in the pub a little while back. Frowning slightly as the memory came back, he was the one who helped her get out of the pub without any ministry official noticing. "Addis" she spoke with a slight smile, half happy to see him again.
"Well i must say its nice seeing the actual you" she half laughed, everyone had a second side to them, be it animagus form, changing appearances or just having another side to them. Becki had, over a course of a very long time, adapted to being an Animagus, though she rarely used this skill. Only when she had no other alternative. She looked at him with a bemused expression before saying, "I have absolutly no idea what your talking about, why would a name interest me? More importantly, why would i want to go finding this person with a name?"
Becki didnt have a clue what was going on, but the way Addis's face just changed it seemed as though he knew something important. Either that or he had major worry issues, either way right now she couldnt see what this had to do with her.
"Whos got to die?" She asked, "Whos a target and whos close?" she asked, now really confused, "What is going on?"
((Sorry, sucky post))

((ooc: It wasn't a sucky post, lol. I've done worse )) Addis looked at Gobien once more, lowering his eyes before looking at the girl. He didn't want to tell her, though she would have to know sooner or later. Gobien would white wash it if he told her. He looked at the older man and smirked.
'I found out who you are, why you're on the run and who was behind it all.' Addis said, crossing his arms. 'You're name is Rebecka McDyne. You're from California, America. Your village was destroyed by a man working alongside of the Ministry. They feared your people there, for some reason, I don't know. Now, the one behind it all works for the Ministry and he's overlooking the entire Ministry Operation whilst Dietrich is away. Gobien, you know who I mean.'
Addis lowered his gaze and kicked a stone near his foot. It wasn't fun to reveal that a man who was in control of a large scale operation was a target of revenge from a girl, though he did like the idea of killing a man who was at the top.
'I offer you my help if you want it.' Addis said to Rebecka.

Becki looked between the two men, both seemed uncomfortable now and Bex didnt like the awkward silence. She wanted to know what was going on, and though she had already asked, she was already not wanting to know.
"Well havnt you been a busy little bee, doing your homework" she said with no emotion whatsoever in either her eyes, or her voice. He had basically given her a very short version of the past year and a half of her life and she wasnt sure she liked the idea of a more or less complete stranger knowing even the tiniest bit about her. She wasnt sure she'd have liked it if he didnt know all that, and just knew she was an Animagus. Becki wasnt even sure she liked the idea of them knowing the three letter abriviation of her name. "Its a funny old world isnt it?" she spoke, again with no emotion, "How you can spend little over a year trying so hard to find the information a complete stranger can find in a couple of days?" she gave a sarcastic laugh, so he knew her name, where she was from and even a little bit about what had happened, yet at the same time he knew more than she did. Sighing, she shrugged. "Guess it happens"
"Well since you know so much, i dont suppose there's much more you two would want to know is there?" she asked, though a lot more had happened than just that. She knew why they had feared her people, she had gotten that information herself a long time ago, but it appeared the man would rather die than give out anything else. "Well since I have no chance of reaching a man at the top of the Ministry chain without seducing him or something, I suppose i dont have much of a choice to accept your offer" she turned to face him, but her face said it all, she still didnt trust them, and Addis has helped her more than enough already. Which she did appreciate.

Addis judged by the look on her face she would accept. She had spoken coldly to him and he knew why. He wouldn't push it further than he already had. He looked at Gobien and smiled.
'Welcome to the Rogues, m'lady.' Addis said, bowing formally. He stood up and smiled, not with emotion but for the fact he had received a sort of whining complaint. 'I have my talents. Information gathering is one of them. Trying to be a Wannabe seducer is one of his.' Addis patted Gobien roughly on the shoulder, grinning wildly now.
'You accept our help unwillingly, but it is not you who need us. If it weren't for your appearance, we wouldn't have this chance and I wouldn't of come across the documents I found. The Ministry really needs to tighten the strangle hold on their documents in the castle, I swear.' Addis said, laughing after the last sentence he spoke. 'Or they need to bring in their smarter people for guard duty. I've cracked open so many heads this year, it's not funny.'
He paused for a moment and looked at Rebecka. He had a nagging feeling that there was something she wasn't telling them, though what it was would have to take some time figuring out. He shook his head slowly.
'Gobien, how many do you think we'll need? All of them? A small group? I don't know how many men he has, I mean Dryson is also as shifty as they come. He'll possibly have White Roses with him.' He said, an evil grin forming on his face. 'From what I've heard about the White Roses, you hit them they hit back just as hard. Can't wait, honestly.'

Becki sighed, she was keeping back things, but if he was as good at getting information as he said he was, then it shouldnt be too difficult to find out. Though all Becki wanted to right now, was get hold of that guy and she didnt care how many ministry officials she would have to go through to get to him.
"Right, okay" she said, not really needing to know their talents, as long as they were good with their wands she didnt really care what feats they might have on the side. Rebecka leant back up against a tree, stood there for a moment in silence, brow creased and in thought.
"Glad i can be of help then" she said with a smile. Becki opened her eyes, it didnt properly register with her what he had said, "Well i guess it is a good thing i came along, though how my coming helped you come across those files i dont know" she raised an eyebrow. "How can you just wander across a file about someone else without looking for it?" She smiled, Becki didnt mind if he had gone nosying for something about her, curiosity was in everyone. "Well it was only ministry folk, no use crying over their split heads"
Becki returned the look he was giving her, but didnt say anything. If he wanted to know what happened and what she was hiding then he would just have to wait, because she was near enough sure, some of the things she knew were not in files.
"White Roses?" Bex had never heard this term before. She looked between the two of them with a questioning glance. Though found herself smiling as she did so.

Lightly smiling at Rebecka's varying reactions to what he had said Gobien stood in a lazy poise, but her comment about finding love perked his curiousity, he didn't doubt she'd find love if she wanted to, but the way she'd said it hinted at an already broken heart, he'd seen far too many of those, and nearly been the cause of one before. Now that had been a difficult day.
She then happened to ask the pivotal question, one he'd already cast from his own mind, about to answer he looked over as Addis did his usual sudden appearance, smirking he wondered if one day he'd appear in a suitable flash of smoke; he always knew how to make an entrance, but he continued as if it were ordinary happenstance; simply because it was. The pair had grown so used to each others company they could easily meld. "You run? I don't think so, I'm a good judge of character aren't I Addis?" He grinned at his companion who he guessed would wholeheartedly agree as it was truth. With a smile to Rebecka he explained, "you don't seem the sort; take it as a compliment," he chuckled, "your eyes blaze too brightly to flee from a battle, in any shape or form." He looked keenly into her eyes as if seeing directly into her soul itself.
Taking the parchment from Addis, Gobien studied it briefly, but absorbed all the information rapidly. As Addis continued to talk Gobien went over the key points, he'd heard rumour of the massacre, but hadn't wished to dwell upon it at the time. So she came from there? Poor girl, he thought, witnessing such an atrocity, yet she isn't as cold as I'd expect, most would be driven mad seeing glimpses of such terrible murders. Casting his level gaze upon her again he gave her an appraising look then smiled warmly at her; quite remarkable.
"I should have known you'd have met," he shook his head in mock amazement, Addis appeared everywhere seemingly at will. Slipping the parchment into one of his many pockets Gobien was about to argue back with a smile claiming that he'd obviously managed to recruit her, in a joking fashion when his look when dark at Addis' suggestion. Gaze flickering from one to the other he wondered quite how she'd react, but decided he'd rather try stepping in first before Addis potentially gave promises they potentially couldn't keep. But he was waylaid as Rebecka asked her puzzled questions, arms folded he fixed Addis with a look that cried out I hope you know what you're doing. He might have complete faith in him yet he still had doubts about certain issues; allowing someone the chance to go for revenge was one; it clouded their judgement; he should know.
For when he'd been released from Azkabhan he'd immediately set off after Deitrich, it had nearly cost him his own life but worse his brother's too, until he'd been forced to see reason and the bloodlust had abated. Gobien would never allow himself to loose control again, never. The events of that fateful night replayed over in his mind and a pained look crossed his features, he turned away looking up at the sky, "forgive me brother," he breathed as he knelt down into the earth, now completely oblivious to their discussion, tears sprang into Gobien's bright blue eyes, but they remained unshed, for moments he breathed levelly hands pressed down upon the ground and head bowed down, whilst he thought.
Moments passed until he arose, a grim look upon his face, he head Addis' wondering about how many numbers they'd need to accomplish the mission, and answered, "I'd say it's utter folly, but it'll take them completely by surprise, and with a crack force we can break them."
Gobien looked at each of them; they didn't know of the White Roses, they had witnessed nor fought them, for that they should be thankful, with a shake of his head he replied softly, "formidable advesaries each one, they are cold hearted remorseless men and women, profficient fighters, Addis if you thought I was good then think again. Their duelling skills are exceptional, their strategies foolproof. They actually think, unlike most officials we've come across thus far." He sighed, "you know I don't scare easy, but they send a shiver down my spine. Few who encounter them live to tell the tale, I'm one of the few." He laughed jovially now, "confidence is their undoing, taking one down will take a large effort." He chuckled, "but unlike the Ghost that Walks they can't be everywhere at once," smiling now Gobien's excitement was plain, wringing his hands he gesticulated wildly, "so what we have to do is create a diversion, something big enough that only a single White Rose shall be left to guard him...we plant a little something in the Ministry Headquarters, that'll cause a big enough bang to draw all forces towards it, leaving everyone shocked and confused, then we strike at their heart."
With a grin he looked at Addis, his bright eyes dancing with passion and fervour, "we need to get into the Ministry my friend, undercover operation, think we can manage it?" He asked lazily already knowing the answer.
(hope you like the plan, if not tell me. I would have replied to each bit properly but the psot would have had to have been a right epic!)

(ooc: Nothing in writing an epic I'm doing so right now ;D) Addis smiled, though rather grimly as he saw the look upon Gobien's face when he described the White Roses and how they fought. He felt his confidence lower itself though his hand clenched tightly on his wand, he now had a dark look on face, his mood changing drastically.
He shook his head and didn't want to believe that the White Roses were as good as Gobien said they were. He couldn't believe that as individuals they were better than even the great wizards and witches. He shook his rage for a sudden moment before he calmed himself.
'Take one down, they all go down...' Addis said, a dark smile appearing on his face. 'I'll certainly like to take that chance.'
'I can get us in quite easily.' Addis said, smiling. His cousin Markus was still within the Ministry with several visitor privelidges. Gobien could slip in with a disguise with Addis as Octavious and then the trap could be placed within the main foyer of the Ministry. 'I am definitely up for sneaking into the Ministry.'
