"Ohh, I'm so scared of Monster Fay!" He said, waving his arms a bit but still smiling and trying not to laugh. "Oh dear no, not a bet. It's a dare, Shay's far too cheap to pay me." He said before he remembered Fay was a Ravenclaw too and that he was obviously talking to her. Ah well, he still wanted to point out that Shay was the mean one who forced him in here.
When Bray heard the shout, he quieted a bit more and he too took out his wand, knowing that three students with wands could take down.. whatever was out there, even if it's just Shay. Heck, if it is Shay, Bray's still going to hex the boy. Bray followed Fay to bring up the rear, tempted to try to scare her even though she knew he was there. He fought it off, knowing that she was armed and dangerous, in more way than one. "Don't trip." He whispered, leaning in and laughing a bit.

"You should be." Fay looked back at Bray, smirked, then continued walking behind Char. "Don't worry, I won't trip. Just try not to hex anyone Bray, disastrous things might result." She kept her voice low, making sure that only the two of them could hear her. Only Fay could pull off a smile while marching further into the woods and possibly marching toward something that could kill them. But then again, that was Fay.
Felicity muttered 'Lumos', and let her wand tip light up. It was probably better that they could see around them as well, in case something came from the side. Fay ran through all of the hexes she knew in her head, making sure she had one ready at the tip of her tongue.

Char was vaguely aware of the quiet bickering taking place behind him, but his curiosity had heightened to the point where his wide eyes were focused on only the path ahead of him. This of course had led him to completely miss the protruding root just to his left, and his foot entwined with it in a rather unfortunate way.
Wobbling a bit in place, Char flung out his arms to keep his balance and not fall. As he did, his hand smacked across the decaying branch of a tree causing bits of it to jerk toward him.
"That is disgusting," he said with a grimace, wiping the side of his face with a sleeve. The root had lodged itself on his foot, unwilling to let him go, and Char made a face. "Anyone know a spell that can blast this thing off quietly... and without blowing me up as well?" He grinned, although a bit uneasily.
As he stood in place, however, his face was stuck staring at the moulding branch. Raising a brow, he leaned forward having seen a small illustration - or rune - of some sort. "Wait a minute, anyone take Ancient Runes here?" They were both Ravenclaws, one of them had to have...

Bradyn grinned at Fay, at least she was making the forest less dangerous feeling. It was nice to think that she could be the worst monster out here, but that was of course a huge understatement. "Aww, I was going to hex Shay just because it's fun. Plus it's his fault we're wandering around looking for him." When Char got stuck he went over and squatted down by Char and examined the root.
It looked pretty wedged in and it was either leave the shoe behind or get rid of the root. He quickly thought through his spells, but without knowing what tree it was he couldn't decide between a few. He looked back up at the tree and glanced at the rune. "I don't take it, I went for Dinivation and Dragonology for my blow-off classes.." Though he wished he hadn't taken dragonology, since Professor Turolia liked to get after him about things.

Felicity frowned and kneeled down by Char, her brow furrowed slightly. "Sorry, I don't take it either." She was currently flipping through all of the spells she knew, and so far all the ones she could try would most likely blow off Char's leg.
Felicity kicked the root, mostly out of annoyance. "Stupid tree." Thought she should probably be worried about what is around the forest. Such as something that could eat her and/or maul her. But, it seems Fay didn't really worry that much. She could handle whatever wanted to eat her. A scowl was stretched across her face and her brow furrowed further.

All Shay could hear was the sounds of people chatting, and things breaking. He knew he was in the clear, and he knew they were looking for him now. Heaving a satisfied sigh, he grinned, and walked a little further in the forest, but took a turn, thus hiding himself more into the forest. He now planned to attack them from behind, but he needed to get far enough they wouldn't catch him before he could scare them out of their socks.
He made sure he could barley see the lights of the wands, before continuing his sudden turn, and walking back towards them. Just to make the hairs on their necks stand, Shay made a couple of loud noises, bashing into trees, breaking weak logs, and whatnot, just so they would be scared. He was a Slytherin, what would you expect for him to do if he dominated in this kind of situation?
He was certain he saw the lights of their wands again as he made a loud passing by, and grinned that good-old Slytherin grin. Just a few more yards, and I'll come up behind them. Shay thought, silently to himself. It was certain, this night was going to be a memorable night, nonetheless.
[gah. Sorry for my long disappearance... I hope this makes up for it?]

[ long disappearance my ass, you just didn't want to post because you're lazy -shakes fist- ]
Bray looked up at Fay, it seemed she didn't really have an idea to get Char's foot out in one piece and still attached. He sighed in defeat and decided there was only one way to do this without the help of magic.. well, a lot of magic anyway. "Hope you don't like these shoes too much, mate." He said before aiming his wand between the root and his foot. Bray's eyes widened when he heard noises in the forest coming towards them. They needed to get Char's foot out and fast, who knows what could be out there.
"Alright, Fay, I'm gonna grab the tree, and you'll grab Char's leg-- you don't mind, right? -- And if we both pull at once he should come loose. If not, I'll cut the root with one of my sister's blade techniques." That basic muggle plan did have a chance of working, didn't it? Even if it didn't, he had quickly formed a backup plan. Bray shrugged off the probability of failure and quickly oiled his shoes with a random grease charm in his memory bank. One thing he was glad about was his calm mind that could work in any situation, even if his head was buzzing with adrenaline.

Felicity nodded and grabbed hold on Char's ankle. "If this hurts I'm sorry." She looked over to Bray then, waiting for him to say when. Hopefully this would work, because Fay didn't really trust Bradyn with a blade of any sort, even a fake one.
Her head snapped up as she heard more crunching and tree branches snapping. Whatever was following them was coming closer. Once they pulled Char free, she would probably have to find where the beast was coming from, so she could hex the crap outta the thing. God, for all this she deserved way more than the bet was worth.

Char wrinkled his nose, feeling some of the slippery grease fall into his shoe. "Er - thanks," he said bewildered, unable to stop the grin from sliding onto his face. He thought it was rather hilarious having his foot buttered up, but eager to get out of the trap all the same.
When hearing they both hadn't taken Ancient Runes, Char took it upon himself to study the root further. The engraved symbol curled and twisted with in itself, and Char ran a finger over the small ridges. Feeling Felicity yank gently on his foot, Char glanced behind his shoulder at her and smiled reassuringly. "I can handle it," he whispered, as if talking any louder would disturb the suddenly rustling forest.
After a moment of thought, feeling the slick grease somehow reach his knee, Char's pulled the twig holding the symbol off the tree and shoved it into his trouser pocket. "Almost there," he said distractedly, smiling at Bradyn. Pulling his foot with the help of his companions, he felt it slide out of the hold slightly.
With a nasty squelch, his foot - now shoeless - sprang from the twisted root, sending him sprawling clumsily onto the floor. Though, even with dirt coating his now dirty blond hair and his shoe stuck in the confines of the forest, Char grinned in relief. "You Ravenclaws are miracle workers."

This, was going to be absolutely.. enjoyable. Shay could hear them attempting to free Char's loose foot -which Shay had just noticed was stuck, he couldn't figure out why they were just standing around..- But nonetheless, they had freed it. It was only a matter of time before Shay's little plan would set in.
He could sense the fear they had. It was like a light glowing off them, as they hurriedly released Char's foot, and seemed to prepare for the worst. Now, was the time to attack. Only a few more crashes, and breaking of branches, he would be set only feet behind them. As much as he resisted to do so, Shay couldn't help but snicker, and attempted to hold in his laughs.
Noisily, he approached the three, snickering all the way. Only a few more steps, and I'll pounce. He thought, stepping hard on a couple of twigs. Biting down on his lip, to hold the laughs in, he poked the girl -which he realized soon after was Felicity Locke- hard on the shoulder, and tapped the top of Char's head. Setting himself up behind Bray, he grabbed him by the shoulders, shook him hard, and stood back to watch their reactions. Of course, he had to scare Bray the most. What were best mates for? All the while, as he stood back, he put his hand over his mouth, waiting for their reactions.

Bradyn sighed in relief after Char's foot was out and frowned at the shoe that was still stuck. Then he remembered that Fay looked almost alarmed when he mentioned cutting the root. She had no confidence in him, did she? Pointing his wand farther away from the shoe, a quick red light shot out as he murmured the incantation slowly. Soon there was a large gap in the root and he pulled the shoe out and tossed it to Char. "Ugh, that stuff's nasty. I'm glad I'm not the one covered in it." He laughed and wiped his hand off on Fay's pant leg.
Hearing the noises continue, Bradyn gripped his wand tighter and looked each direction but the forest was too thick to see anything. 'Damn forest, why do things like this always happen when I go in?' He thought. But suddenly something grabbed him and he couldn't help but let out a scream. "What in the hell?" Bray said, still shaking and he couldn't tell if the offender was doing it or if he just got freaked out that much. He quickly balled up a fist and aimed it behind him, determined to make it hurt. The hands on his shoulders sure felt familiar, like a certain Slytherin that was so persistent in pissing him off.
"Damn it!" He swore and stepped away from Shay, still too angry and shocked to form any coherent, and not vulgar, sentences.

Surprisingly, Felicity didn't scream. She more of twitched and squeaked. But, unfortunately for everyone else, the scare caused Fay to switch her charm on. But, she didn't realize it because it happened so often when she got frightened.
"Bloody-" Her curse was cut off by Bray's scream, and she turned her head to him. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticied Shafer standing behind Bray. Fay's eyes narrowed instantly and her grip on her wand tightened. She stood up and stomped over, muttering swears and whatever else she knew under her breath.
Felicity shoved her wand into Shay's chest. The veela was blazin' mad now. "You little nasty. Scared us half to death for what? That good feeling inside? Screw that. You better start running Shay cause the forest isn't the only thing you have to worry about right now." She glared at him, still not realizing what had happened and now realizing that standing close to anyone would be a very bad mistake.
