Rhaeder, a 175 year old ghost and resident of Hogwarts and there abouts was wandering the forest, afterall, what do the dead have to fear? She wasn't making a sound. drifting in and out of the trees that were thickly packed together. She hadn't made one acquaintance yet alone friend in this, her old school. This was not what Rhaeder had expected. She was about to investigate the further reaches of the forest when she heard voices, a female voice and then after listening for about five minutes she heard male voices. Rhaeder would normally not want to intrude, indeed that was not her intention, but hell did ghosts hate being forgotten about. Rhaeder floated towards the voices and was looking upon two people she recognised as staff members of the school, one she knew was a professor, also a student in Blue robes, a ravenclaw. Rhaeder grinned at this, she had been a ravenclaw. She was not totally visible she was as if watching an image through a television with the contrast and brightness set too much, the colours in rhaeders ghostly figure were muted and Rhaeder, though certainly visible was transparent, opaque even, she let off a certain greyish blue glow, especially so in the dark forest . Rhaeder drew close to them and was floating just by a tree directly infront of the student, she wondered if he would notice her, It would be hard not too.

'What the...' Victoria muttered as she looked and saw something pearly white close by. At first she thought it was some beast of the forest but upon further inspection she realized that it was one of the school's ghosts. What she was doing out there was anyone's guess but she didn't have to scare people. Placing a hand over her fast beating heart Vicky said, 'You scared the daylights out of me I didn't expect to see any ghosts out here I thought you all stayed within the confines of the castle.' That just went to show how much she knew about it. 'Well I guess it's a nice night and everyone should be entitled to enjoy it. Sorry if I came off as being short you just really did startle the me. I'm not too fond of the forest.' She hadn't meant to say that last part but now that it was out of her mouth she couldn't very well take it back. Looking from the student to the ghost she just put on a smile hoping no one would make too much of her admittance.

Rhaeder tipped her head to one side and looked at the woman who seemed startled at her appearance. "No, the other like to stay inside, but I don't see the point, and a forest as dark as this may seem to be an unusual haunting but what do the dead have to fear?" Rhaeder had said all this without any expression, she looked down a few moments and out of the blue rushed forward to float a few inches infront of the womans face. Rhaeder looked into her eyes and said in a low tone "however it is unwise to walk these woods alone think you not?"she looked down and floated a little away, right through the boy and floated by a tree "If you wish to overcome fear maybe I can be of assistance, I can see without being seen afterall and cannot be harmed, I wouldn't want to think I left a mortal out here able as you are" Rhaeder floated around again and smiled at the woman "I bet you've never heard of me before have you, Rhaeder....Im easily forgotten"

Victoria didn't spend much time with or around the ghosts but none of them really spoke like her. She was sounded almost transcendental. Victoria stared as much as she could before her eyes began to hurt and she had to look away. When Rhaeder as she said her name was came close to her face Vicky shivered feeling unbelievably cold. She hated that effect but said nothing last thing anyone in their right mind would want to do was offend a ghost, you were guaranteed to be haunted for the rest of your days if you did.
Watching as she floated through poor Ashton Vicky shivered again and walked right over to him to make sure he was OK. If she got cold just from close contact he must be freezing right now. 'Are you OK Ashtong?' she asked concerned. The looking to the ghost she said, 'I'm out here to conquer my fears but no I wouldn't say no to a bit more company.

Rhaeder laughed in her throat, and lifted her head to look at the woman through the corner of her eyes. "conquering your fear in one thing can lead to fear in another" she then vanished, in complete silence she then appeared right behind the woman "when all you need to fear is fear itself" she floated past the woman, just brushing her and floated infront of her "company, I can provide" she said with a brief nod of her head.

Ashton shivered as the ghost floated through him, he was certainly startled, but to say he was scared, that would have been ridiculous. Ashton may have been a quiet, shy individual, but there was actually very little that scared him. Well...except spiders... but then again who in their right minds would like the eight-legged freaks? He smiled at the ghost. "Hi, I'm Ashton. Ashton McLane."

Well apparently Victoria was the only one who was on edge tonight. The appearance of Rhaeder was still a bit of a shock to her but apparently Ashton was quite pleased by the company. As she looked at him and smiled she turned her head to find Rhaeder in front of her face once more. She seemed to be a close talker so to speak and it made Vicky feel a bit fidgety. Trying to smile she said, 'Well I can conquer this one fear I'm sure I can combat the rest. The forest was the one thing that Vicky feared the most in the world anything after that would probably be a piece of cake.

Rhaeder looked around at Ashton and nodded, she smiled "Nice to meet you kid,So how old are you,Myself Im 175" She looked at the woman and raised an eyebrow "theres no need to be scared of me, I can destroy your life if I wanted to but Im not that way enclined, Im at peace you see, I did no wrong to be cast into hell for so I am not anguished, you see what people dont understand is that only people who have done evil enough to be deserved of hell become the troubled spirits" She laughed, Maybe that was a bit too much and she smiled at her "you dont need to worry about me"

Sometimes the more Rhaeder spoke the more confused Victoria felt. She always seemed to be speaking in riddles. It was never just a straight forward answer. Victoria wasn't sure if she liked that or not but she did know one thing and that was that Rhaeder meant her no harm and that was a very good thing. Just then though Victoria heard something she stood stock still and listened it sounded like something was slithering on the ground. Looking around her eyes peeled she tried to see beyond the dark. She did not want to be some wicked creatures dinner. 'Did anyone else just hear that?'

Ashton smiled at Rhader, "I'm fifteen." He answered, then Victoria asked if they had heard anything, "No... I can't hear anything now." he answered, he looked at Victoria, "Are you sure it's not just your imigination running away with you because of your fear of the forest? That happens to me alot, when I'm scared, I tend to imagine things that usually aren't there. But then again it could be a snake, or some other kind of animal." He stopped, "And I should probably stop babbling before I talk you all to sleep!" He chuckled.

Rhaeder looked at him amusedly "I would be very impressed if you managed to talk me to sleep" she laughed "So...are we going to stand in this one spot or are we going to move?" she raised her eyebrow "Theres a lovely nook in the gryffindor common room i love to sleep in if we are going to stay here" she mused. She floated around and looked at Ashton quizzickly "would you want to be a ghost?, I don't often meet people who enjoy the attention of ghosts, I must say our parties are a bit dead....but then so are we so we dont really mind...." she mused making a joke

Ashton sighed, "I don't really know." he admitted, "I guess I would like to stick around just so I could keep on eye on people who are close to me, like Maxi for example. And my father has threatened to kill me so many times, that I'm not even afraid of death anymore. The one thing, or person I guess I should say, that I fear most is my father."

Rhaeder chuckled to herself and looked at him "there is nothing to be feared of death" she nodded at him "the only thing to fear is fear itself" she looked him in his eyes "dont be scared of your father" She got rather bored and started rustling some leaves near by

Ashton scoffed when Rhader told him not to fear his father, "I've been living under his roof for fifteen years, for fifteen years I've endured insults, ridicules, threats, and beatings. Now you tell me, how could I not be afraid of my father?"
