Post by Prof. Victoria Potter on Aug 13, 2008 22:30:56 GMT
Vicky had come down a bit earlier than need be. She wanted to see if any help was needed, her room had become such a bore she needed something to occupy her mind. Since she knew there would be a dance that evening and since she knew she'd be under the watchful eye of the other staff members she had to be on her best behavior so there was no going out to the local pubs for a drink or two. On this night she had to go it sober. So she took her time getting ready making it last as long as possible. Spending an hour in front of the mirror after showering. Just combing her hair took an hour. It was being worn down and straight it looked dark and was so very shiny. When she finished with that next was the ensemble. Her closet seemed packed with clothes but she didn't seem to find anything she liked. At first there was a smile pile on the bed and it soon grew to over flowing within minutes. Then all the way in the back where no one would have seen it a pretty pink dress was hanging the tags still on it. This was it this was the dress. Victoria grabbed it and spun around until she got dizzy. Giggling, she landed in her pile of clothes after she almost fell and felt feminine and lively. Getting up she took one more look at the dress before putting it on. There was no denying that it looked good on her. Hugging her closely in all the right places. There was skeptical look on her face as she tried to remember when she had purchased it and why she had never worn it before. No matter it would get good use that night. Putting on some makeup and some high high heels she looked around for the mask she had purchased, the pink one that would go so well with that dress. Funny how that worked out. Moving into the Great Hall she stood there mask up marveling at how good everything looked. Her help surely hadn't been needed. There was a lot of work put into this party. Walking around she began to take in everything until she started to hear footsteps...Soon the hall was overflowing with students and faculty. Vicky wandered around saying hello here and there. As usual she was at an event alone. It wasn't unusual but it was becoming sort of tiresome. Stopping at the refreshment table she single handedly poured herself some punch, though she did wish it was something stronger. Looking around she wondered if and when she should cut out.

Hikaru laughed softly at Ms. Locke. "Hikaru Tanaka. Old Occlumency teacher. We met at the lake when you were having a bad day?" he said, hopping to jog the girls memory. He smiled again, you're going to be graduating soon aren't you?" he asked curiously.
Hearing a commotion, Hikaru looked around. Frowning as he spotted the source, a group of students, he turned to Felicity and Ariel with an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry ladies, would you excuse me for a moment?" Walking briskly over to the troublemakers he crossed his arms and stared sternly down at the students. "Is there a problem over here?" he asked, tone clearly indicating that if there was, they'd better fix it.

Post by Blake Adams on Aug 13, 2008 23:11:38 GMT
The Gryffindor commonroom had been buzzing all day. Annoying in some ways, better in others. One of the latter was the usual gaggle of girls that followed himself Toby and Harri about the place. Due to the ball they had better things to be discussing such as the revealing dresses and masks they would be wearing. The only annoying thing that came from this however was the fact that they asked continuously whom each of them was going with. At these moments in time Rieko clung closer to his arm and gave them all evils until they dispersed and stopped questioning him.
Then came the evening, Blake was actually getting ready earlier than usual, for the simple fact that if he did not make it to the hall before Rieko did he would probably be eaten, which was no good thing. Why they had not decided to meet up before entering the hall he had no idea, though it made it all the more amusing attempting to spot them out in the crowd. But it was going to be the easiest thing ever to pick Blake out in the crowd, this was not really his kind of event, well other than all the pretty females dancing. He was of course all for that part. It was rather more the fact that it was a formal dress occasion. And as had been quite clear on more than one family gathering, he just looked continuously uncomfortable in black tie. And therefore he has just picked a plain outfit, jacket, shirt, trousers and of course the mask, being the most important factor. But once again, he had put little thought into this also; it was just a case of use the first mask you find that does not make you look like a ponce. Looking himself over briefly in the mirror, Blake ran his fingers through his always messy hair, winking at his own reflection, he turned top face Harri, whom was still splayed lazily on top his bed. “Dude, you know I wouldn’t turn up anywhere early, I just have to be there before Rieko. But you had better turn up man, you know its no fun unless we’re all there!” Blake grinned at his friend before continuing, “Anyway, i’m tied down, and besides someone has to give the ladies something to go on.”. Turning to face the mirror again, something caught his attention. He had almost forgotten, bending down he picked up the red and black feather boa that was lain on the floor. Before throwing it at Harri, “You might find this will go well with your outfit tonight!” and before he could respond, Blake picked up his mask and fled the room. Unbeknown to Harri, Blake had replaced his dress robes with one of Rieko’s dresses. And it would be amusing to see whether, he actually came down in the cute little red number or if he would actually use his eyes and find his proper dress robes. Either way it would make it amusing when he eventually turned up.
Slipping on his mask, he trotted down the stairs and made his way into the great hall, following Mr and Mrs Hubbles through the big oak doors. They had definitely pulled out all the stops this evening, the decorations looked amazing. And the vibe you got as you entered the room, made you feel instantly that it was going to be a good evening. Glancing around the room, Blake searched for a sign of Rieko, though to no avail, bleeding masks. In these muggle movies it was always ridiculous when they had such balls, you knew precisely whom was whom and you considered those that did not know idiots. Yet here he was in the same situation and he could safely say he only recognised a handful straight off.
Out of the corner of his eye, Blake spotted a relatively tall slender figure that he believed belonged to a Miss Fay Locke, whom Harri had mentioned every so often. She was apparently conversing with two teachers and looking as if she just wanted to melt into the wall. Quickly making his way over to them he stated loudly from behind her. “Oh there you are, just the person i have been looking for.” Blake started with a charming smile, before turning to face the Professors, “You don’t mind if i steal her from you for a moment, do you?” He enquired politely, before bowing to them a little and taking Fay by the arm, moving her away from them and stating to her quietly, “Just Ramble a way quickly as if we are discussing something of importance, and they will forget about us in a minute.”

Did these people actually care what she thought? Kayleen yawned with boredom. Her mother owned the top Qudditch store in the country and this is how they where treating someone with power to do stuff, that can change there life. She was thinking on how she could get her mother to stop selling Qudditch supplies to these kids. Like she cared if they had a qudditch team or not. She rolled her eyes and glanced at all of them. Noah was the only one making since. He was smart and she could see why Blakely had a crush on him, at least thats how it looked.
She decided to leave the ball. It was boring and probably wouldn't get any better. Maybe she could sneak off campus and go ride her broom, who cared if she got expelled. Defiantly not her. On the other hand her knee was killing her tonight so she might just go hangout in the common room. Maybe she might even get some quality sleep tonight. Who knows, but either way she was leaving this boring place. Kayleen yawned and then cast evil stares at everyone, but Noah.

Post by Katya Ilychovich on Aug 13, 2008 23:24:56 GMT
It had taken some thorough convincing from Kaiyo before Katya had even the thought of joining this party. She hadn't known what to wear, and she'd no one to go with. Nor had she seen Akinaka or Ash or Bray around; even Ian was missing in action. The Japanese Ravenclaw had her sitting on the bed as she paced back and forth explaining that this dance would be good for her confidence, and that she needed to get out and quit locking herself up in the common room. She wasn't allowed a word in edgewise, funny as that may sound, and she was always silenced--and the irony just keeps coming!--when she opened her mouth to protest. She'd resorted to borrowing one of Kaiyo's dresses in the end, thank goodness they were identical in size, 'else she might have needed to whip her wand out for a disastrous enlargement spell. It was unique, she found, being that it was a rosy pink and a light blue together. Dont even get her started on her mask! And though she primarily hated the idea of primping herself up, a part of her would always grin and blush inside when she saw herself in the mirror like this.
"You look amazing! Now get in there and attract those boys."
Kaiyo had exclaimed, clapping her hands together happily. Once she saw the withering look from Katya the Ravenclaw frowned, shaking her head.
"Oh no, you're going, and I'll be right there with you." And that was that! You didn't protest when it came to Kaiyo. Creeping hesitantly into the Great Hall with her friend at her side, Katya glanced around the room, amazed at all the people she saw every day now in their formal wear and their sunday best. "Right back." Kaiyo had murmured to her in a choppy, accented half-sentance, before she flitted off to join some guy at the drinks table. Left on her own now and feeling completely exposed Katya lifted her head higher, striding slowly but confidently over to the food.
(( I'll PM you on it. )) [/color]

Post by Narcissus Drachen on Aug 13, 2008 23:48:01 GMT
Girls and boys alike scowled aggressively beneath their feminine masks, glittering and shimmering so vibrantly that they seemed to disarm themselves. They looked like gods who had descended into human bodies for the first time, unsure of their own grace and tightly corseted chests. Narcissus, however, was more at home than he’d ever been, and as he walked under the full mooned magnificence of the Great Hall, a warm summer breeze carrying in music from the temporary maze outside, he realised he had been born in the completely wrong century.
The loners were prominent little rarities among the decorated herd, and it took only a few moments for Narcissus’s eyes settle on two intimates sat side by side against the far wall, the Joker and his corpse bride. Oh Noah, you always made the subtlest of statements.
The dancers parted and Narcissus pranced through them in deliberate flamboyance, tapping the corner of his mask as he spotted Polaris’s rogue eyes. “You look stunning, and it’s lovely to see you.” He smiled, kissing her feathers in greeting. “Will you dance with me later? At Midnight I fully expect to turn back into a milkmaid and kill myself, and I don’t think Noah’s going to make my dreams come true tonight.”
The orchestra tumbled on and Narcissus looped him arm around Noah’s neck, throwing himself into the Gryffindor’s lap. “You stole Lilandra when I actually wanted her for once,” He spoke harshly in his ear, although a devilish grin gave him away. “And do you like the dress robes? Venetian black velvet – and the silver embroidery is fairy silk, I hope you know.”

Post by Professor Dia Hubbles on Aug 13, 2008 23:56:19 GMT
It had been a very spontaneous idea, to hold a ball, but as Dia re-adjusted her long black dress on her hips it certainly felt worth it. If there was one thing Dia loved to do it was to get all dolled up. She clipped her long silver necklace around her neck and ran her fingers down the cool metal to the large tear-drop shaped pendent that had been a gift from her mother at her wedding. Dia smiled at herself in the mirror; that was one thing she wouldn't have thought she'd hear herself say, at her wedding indeed.
Dan's voice rang from the other side of the door and Dia rolled her blue eyes. Stomping like a petulant child, Dia shouted back at him, "I'll come when I'm good and ready, darling!" She rolled the last word in frustration and mockery before turning back to the mirror. Her make-up was done, hair, Merlin's beard! Dia was never happy with her hair but decided that it would take too long to undo now. They were already late, fashionably so by any standards. Picking up her shimmering blue mask, its long feathers brushing under her chin, Dia made for the door.
Dan's reaction to seeing her made Dia blush. She looked down at herself and shrugged. "It's not all that spectacular," she said, trying to ignore the fact that not only Dan but the other headmasters and mistresses were gawking at her too. Dan suggested they give the ball as skip but Dia cocked an eyebrow at him, giving him a knowing look. "Come on," she said, walking forward. Dia was already reaching for his arm as he offered it but she took it with a smile non the less.
Their idle chatter got them to the edge of the noise that was coming from the Great Hall. She had been running around all afternoon. making sure that everything was in order for the evening's festivities and she hoped all was right. Dia had been running the feather of her mask through her hand nervously but when Dan pulled his mask on, Dia followed suit and did the same. It sure did feel weird to be wearing something over her face but as she took a tighter grip on Dan's arm the thought of the mask vanished.
There were so many people there already and Dia took in a breath when the hall with all its hangings and decorations came into view. It was all so beautiful; she felt very proud. Dia followed Dan, more because she was still holding onto him as they entered. It was clear that had she not been holding onto him that she would have walked into someone already but she hadn't at that was good.
The question to dance was a silly one, Dia thought and Dia gave Dan a playful grin from below her mask. "Of course, dear sir," she said playfully curtsying and giggling a little.

The lake? Merlin she met a lot of people by the lake. Her ‘brows furrowed slightly as she tried to concentrate. Well, his voice did sound familiar. “Ah, yes, I remember now. Sorry, my memory seems to be going already.” She let out a light laugh as tried to fight the urge to dive under the table. All this attention, and from teachers too! The woman didn’t seem to say much, so Fay just smiled politely at her. Until Tanaka spoke to her again. “Ah, yes. Just a couple more years and I’ll be gone.”
Luck seemed to be on her side – for once – as Tanaka’s attention was forced away from her. The woman still didn’t seem to move, and Fay just shifted back awkwardly. They sat in silence, with Fay biting on her lip and trying to think of something to say. “So…um…are you one of the new teachers I’ve been hearing about?” Smile and act interested, maybe she’ll go away. Being rude could always chase people away, but her mother would beat her for something like that.
And then, a savior! A voice sounded behind her and it was easy to see relief cross her face. Though, she was also slightly confused since the voice didn’t seem to come from any of her friends. The man’s arm slid around hers and he began to quickly tug her away. Only when she caught a glimpse at him did she realize who he was. Arching an eyebrow, it took all she had to keep an amused smirk from crossing her lips. Instead, she just nodded lightly and slowly slid her lips out to a pout.
“You’re late. See? I told you that you should’ve gotten ready earlier. But no, you decided to goof off as usual…”
Her voice trailed off until they were out of earshot. Sliding her arm out of his grip, she turned so she could get a better look at him. A grin filled the veela’s face. “Thanks for the help, I wasn’t really sure how I was going to get out of that.” She pursed her lips for a moment, half wondering if Blake had taken her for someone else. It could happen, she supposed, since he had seen her only from the back. But, whatever his intentions, she was grateful none the less.
But, the only bad thing was that she hardly knew the boy. She had only talked to him, what, once? And even then she had been rather grumpy. Felicity had been semi-expecting Bray to swoop in at the perfect time and save her, since he usually had a knack for that. Seeing a familiar face was better than none she supposed. “I’m surprised you’re not dancing yet. Or do you have the terrible affliction of two left feet?”

Post by Marcus Conway on Aug 14, 2008 0:43:21 GMT
When Alice had entreated him to the idea of going to a ball, Marcus had vehemently shaken his red head and decided to put his foot down for once, demanding that they don't go. A big party meant that the common room would be empty and they'd have the whole place to themselves. But as Alice always seemed to do she managed to convince him to go. And so it was that Marcus found himself in a cream suit, yes, an actual suit with a bow tie and everything and a mask in his hand. Marcus had gotten the mask from his sister and she insisted that he wear it. He had no idea how he would be able to wear his glasses and the mask at the same time but Amara teased him that he didn't need to see if he was going to be seen in the mask she had gotten for him. Feeling fidgety, Marcus stared at hims reflection. He didn't think he looked at all himself but never the less he couldn't keep Alice waiting an more. Pulling off his glasses, Marcus tucked them into his inner pocket and pulled on the mask. " Here goes," he said to himself as he walked slowly towards the door, which lucky for him was still open from when Cedric left ten minutes earlier. Marcus took his time with walking down the corridor towards the common room, he had to he couldn't see very much. Being as blind as a fruit bat it was hard to distinguish a particular shade of brown from any others. Entering the common room, he swore he saw Alice but stayed where he was, not sure if it wasn't the grandfather clock or indeed Alice. "Hi," he said tentatively, pushing his mask up as though it was his glasses. "I ... erm ... I've had to take off the glasses," he pointed out. He didn't know what Alice was going to do with the information but there it was. Walking towards the entrance, Marcus bumped his leg against a low table as he went past and his face contorted in pain. " Ow ow ow ow ow ow," he groaned as he hopped, hand clasped to his left shin, towards the door. When the pain had subsided he stood up, straightening his jacket, before adding with the jerk of his head, "shall we?" It was luck that they didn't have far to go, or many steps to walk up, from the Hufflepuff common room, as Marcus was certain that he wouldn't have been able to make it there in one piece if he had further to go. His ability to judge dept was basically non existent so even when he knew something like a wall was there it was hard to tell when it was going to hit him in the face. The young second year was luck that he had the silly mask on because it would hit the wall rather then his nose. It had happened all too often that his nose groaned none the less. Eventually they made it to the Great Hall and by all the people already there it seemed that they had taken longer getting there then he had first thought. Marcus stood in the open doors and looked around, well, tried anyway. All the colours were very pretty and that was as much detail as he could get. Through the dark holes where his eyes were Marcus could see by the dark blanket above everyone's heads that the sky was clear, lovely. He didn't know what to do now, especially since he couldn't see anything.

Post by Harrison Greg on Aug 14, 2008 0:49:01 GMT
A feather boa why would Blake give him that? A rather perplexed look filled the Gryffindors face as he watched his best mate strut out of the Dorms to pick up his date for the evening. With a rather long yawn Harrison scratched his beard before eventually deciding that maybe the time had come for him to get ready…there was fashionably late and there was just being plain late due to be lazy. The Gryffindor had already showered and trimmed his beard so all he had to do was slip into his tux and everything would be all gravy and he can strut down to the hall, slip on his mask and become the life blood of the gathering.
But there was one problem, his suit was not there and in its place was a red dress. Pulling it off its hanger her ran over to the mirror and placed it against himself almost to see what he would look like with it on, admittedly if he added the feather boa it would be a little to much…wait what was he thinking! The dress was a size to small for the well built sixth year; he would never fit into it.
After a treasure hunt later and the discovery of a few lost chess pieces and a box of acid pops later Harrison had found his tux and was making his way down the corridors towards the ball, with the extra added additions of the red feather boa and a white cowboy hat, (yes this boy new how to accessorise) the Gryffindor entered the Great Hall just in time to see Blake walk off with Felicity Locke.
Shooting a few winks at passers by Harrison walked up to the Gryffindor and the Ravenclaw just to hear the end of their conversation.
“Oh no Mr Adams has a very large talent.” Harrison grinned from Blake to Fay “And dancing is most defiantly one of them, but I believe it is Miss Reiko Daniels who shall have to contend with Mr Adam’s…large talent tonight.”

Noah tilted his head to one side, watching Polaris with a hidden smile. "I think Thestrals are more Narc's style." He said while absently stealing Polaris' drink, a bubbling red concoction that smelled of raspberry. "And speaking of costumes - what do you think?" He gestured to his mask with a grin, all of the depicted characters on it standing a bit straighter under Polaris' scrutiny.
Just as he was about to take a sip of the glass in front of him, the Queen of Hearts sewn to his mask blushed furiously. Noah felt his own skin grow hot on the side of his nose, the heat radiating from her card as she complained exaggeratedly about feeling faint. The culprit for her behaviour smirked merrily, looking exceedingly comfortable in his outfit. Noah would have to remind Narcissus another time to stop having affairs with his cards.
"Was Lilandra so quick to tell you of our exploits?" Noah sighed loudly, placing his sickly sweet drink in Narcissus' hand. "Now I'm left with the distinct impression she was only trying to make you jealous. And here I thought we had something special."
His eyes regarded his companion playfully, taking in the splendor of Narc's robes with an amused smirk. "Velvet? Isn't that Echo's favourite?" The familiar implication of his words brought devious smiles onto both their faces.
Finally after a moment of silently shared secrets, Noah shoved Narc slightly off his knee. "...And maybe reconsider seconds tonight, Drachen."

Post by Kendal Montgomery on Aug 14, 2008 1:06:58 GMT
At one point she considered not coming to this thing. It's not like she had been that social this year. Most of her time had been spent studying and working on papers, getting prepared for her exams. A studyholic had been born and on the rare occasion she did emerge there were actually people who looked at her as if they had never seen her before. One girl went so far as to ask if she was a new student. Kendal practically cried until she saw the sign about the ball. Excitement flooded her insides at first but that soon cooled and became fear. People looking at her as if she were an alien wasn't truly on her to do list. Oh but wait, this wasn't some regular dance it was a masquerade ball. People wouldn't know who anyone was until the end of the night. So she decided to go. Now she needed a dress, an immediate owl was sent home. Her mother had impeccable taste in clothes and knew what Ken liked. In three days time the most beautiful flowy dress appeared on her bed. So grown up and sophisticated Kendal was almost afraid t o wear it fearful she might ruin it somehow. With the dress there was an ornate masquerade mask Kendal spent many a day looking at it. There were some heels nothing too high because she sure couldn't walk in any heels she tripped just walking in flats sometimes. Party night had arrived and Kendal was ready. The Great Hall looked good a job well done and the place was full already which was nice because no one would pay any mind to her which could be a good or a bad thing.

Refraining from laughing as he dragged Fay away from the two Professors, scolding him as they went to make it look more realistic. At least she had played along. The times Blake had attempted to help people get out of sticky situations, and instead of playing along they enquired as to what the devil he was doing before stomping away and making them both look like fools infront of the spectators. Blake turned to face the girl as she withdrew her arm from his, smiling as she thanked him. Before uttering, “Its quite ok, no thanks required Damsels in Distress are my speciality.” And with this he shot her a cheeky grin before continuing, with a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, “Besides when people look as if they would rather be part of the furniture, whilst still wearing something as beautiful as that, then they have to be in some need of assistance.” He chuckled dryly.
The only issue with masquerades was when holding a conversation with someone it was a lot harder to gage what they were thinking. The masks distracted from the eyes, which gave away peoples thoughts and feelings more than anything. So he was a little unsure as to whether or not she realised who he was, he could not make out any hints of confusion, but she could have been about to slap him for he knew, with the little information he could detract from her eyes. The fact that he knew little of her character did not aid him greatly either, he knew a little from what Harri had told him, but otherwise he knew nothing of her particularly.
Pretending to be a little affronted by an accusation that he could have two left feet, Blake brought his hand to his chest in a camp manner and stated in a little more high pitched than usual voice, “Me? Two left feet? Well I never!” Then laughing slightly he continued in his usual tone of voice. “No, to be honest I only just this second arrived, I haven’t even been over to the drinks table yet, I know! The crime, right?” Then looking back over his shoulder toward the door to check for Rieko entering the room, he was a bout to continue and offer to dance with Fay, when he noticed a brightly coloured feather boa with legs strut into the room. Now Blake truly had to refrain from bending over double with laughter. Instead he put on his camp voice and flicking his wrist at Harri he stated loudly, “Oh Darling, you look marvellous, those colours SO bring out your eyes!” Then poking his tongue out at his fellow Gryffindor he winked at him, before replying in a cheeky tone “Oh yesh I have a huge talent, I think I shall have to show it off this evening.”
Refraining from chuckling still at the fool in his hat, he turned to face Fay again, composing himself as he did so. “Well i think we shall have to change that, would you care to dance Miss?” As eh uttered this sentence, he bowed slightly, before continuing in a hushed voice, “But if Rieko turns up, it was that fool there, or she may slaughter me! And be warned he...” Blake pointed in Harri’s general direction, “Is quite likely to dance about in a tribal fashion.”

As Felicity ranted to Blake about his tardiness, it took all she had to not burst into laughter. So, keeping up with the act, Fay sighed and waved her hand when she needed. Honestly, she was probably having way too much fun with this. As her lips stayed in their ever present pout, she cast her gaze quickly around to see if anyone was staring. Nope, no one. Thank Merlin.
She let out a light laugh and pursed her lips. Her finger tapped lightly against her chin in her attempt to look like she was pondering something. “Hmm, now where’ve I heard that before?” Felicity smirked after a moment, trying not to laugh. The compliment seemed to not affect her, though she was trying not to let color rise to her cheeks. Instead, she laughed lightly and flicked his suit with two fingers. “Well I was lucky then, to be saved by someone as dashing as you.”
It was a bit annoying that people could pick her out so easily. Did she really look that different from everyone else that she could be noticed so quickly? First the teachers, where there was one man who she had only met once, then with Blake, who she had only talked to once or twice. Was it her mannerisms that gave her away? Bray would probably say something like ‘You’re a bleedin’ veela, of course you’re easy to pick out’. That was just rude; every girl in the room looked amazing tonight. She could be outshone by any one of them.
“Oh well, guess it’s just me then.” Felicity shrugged lightly, laughing as she did. It probably looked like she was kidding, and in reality, she probably should’ve been. But, gravity seemed to hate her and so she usually fell on a regular basis. “So I was right before, you are late!” Her gaze flicked over to the drinks, and she let out a light laugh. “I think I’ll stay away from those for a while. I seem to have bad luck with drinks.” Exhibit A, Fay’s low tolerance for alcohol.
The bright colors of the boa finally reached her, and she had to cover her mouth so she wouldn’t burst into hysterical laughter. She bit down on her lip, but a few stray giggles escaped from her lips. Blake’s little show didn’t help either. “What are you wearing?” She managed to get out between laughter. Fay covered her mouth again and tried to stifle her laughter.
Blake turned serious again and turned toward her. Finally composing herself, Felicity bit down on her lip, trying to decide what to say. “As flattered as I am, I wasn’t kidding about the two left feet. Walking is already a hazard for me, so I’m amusing I can’t dance either.” She winced slightly at the thought. Her gaze traveled to Harrison, and she grinned slightly. "I wouldn't put it past him."

Yeah this was going to be a hoot. Ginny hated to get all dressed up so many times her mother would beg her to wear a dress and she would fight. Once in a blue she would give in just to make her mother quiet down but it annoyed her to no end. Even that night she wasn't trying to go all fru fru dressy to this thing but the letters poured in daily begging her to be a good girl and do as her mother asked her which was wear a dress. One had even been packed for her at the beginning of the year. Ginny never truly unpacked her trunk there were things in there she hadn't even looked at the whole semester. Throwing things around the room she finally found it way down at the bottom. It was all wrinkled and crinkled. Taking out her wand she had to do quite a bit of spell work in order to get it looking decent. Making a face Ginny threw on the bronzy brown colored dress. This was something she didn't totally hate it didn't look all that bad on her. There were some girlish looking shoes but she refused to wear them. No for this she was going to wear tennis shoes a pair that matched of course but she had to keep some of her own style. Plus it made her look more punk especially with her long red hair completely straight. No make up adorned her freckled face but she did throw on one of those masks she and her brother had gotten. So now she went to the place this whole thing was going to take place. People all over the place. A lot wearing masks so it was hard to see who was who. Ginny didn't think she'd be hard to miss all that red hair well it was sort of a dead giveaway.
