Elizabeth Ravencroft stood, or well, floated rather at the edge of the lake. The young ghost sighed as she looked out over the expanse of water. It had only been three years since she had died, and already she was forgetting what it was like to be human. What the wind felt like blowing through her hair, what the water felt like, and she was forgetting what food tasted like. She remembered that as a child she had always loved chocolate. And if she closed her eyes and concentrated enough, she could almost taste her mother's famous double chocolate cake. The young ghost opened her eyes. If she could have, she would've been crying by now. She missed so much. She missed her parents, her loving mother, her stern yet gentle father. Most of all, she missed being human. She missed the innocence of childhood. Elizabeth sighed, there was no use in thinking about what she no longer had. She was dead, and as much as she wanted, things would never be the same again.

Kasey bustled outside of the school, her favorite book clutched in her arms. Today was a fine day, great for sitting by the Lake and just reading, maybe even stretching her legs a bit. She was wearing one of her favorite outfits today, a short skirt that came just above her knees, her favorite blacka nd white striped tights, and the black laced up boots to match. Plus, her favorite T-shirt, the one with the little fox on it.
Kase was making her way to the lake, when she noticed a ghost floating nearby. Her eyebrow rose slightly as she continued forward. Kasey had been in this school for six years, and had seen a few ghosts, but she didn't recall ever seeing this one.
"Hello." Kris said politely and she plopped down next to the ghost. Her book was set on her lap and Kasey looked up at the ghost. Even in death the girl still seemed beautiful in her eyes. Yet there was a strange sadness that hung around her.

Elizabeth looked down when she heard a voice. "Hello." she said quietly to the Gryyfindor. Elizabeth sighed, the pain and sadness in her eyes was clear as day.

Kasey frowned slightly, the edges of her lips curving down. "Something the matter? You seem depressed about something." Besides the obvious, about being dead and all.
Kase leaned on one arm so she could look up at the ghost. "My name is Kasey by the way." She grinned slightly, trying to lighten the ghost's mood. Most of the ghosts she had met were relatively happy, but maybe that's because Kasey was always bouncing through the halls and greeting them with such cheer. She always did love the sight of the ghosts, even though most of their stories were sad.

Elizabeth gave a small smile. "Elizabeth. Elizabeth Ravencroft." The young ghost sighed, "It's just I've only been dead three years, and I'm already forgetting what it's like to be human. Kinda depressing."

Kasey frowned again. "Sorry to hear that Elizabeth. Or can I call you Liz?" She brought her legs up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. For a moment, Kase stared out at the Lake, watching as the breeze created ripples on the water.
"Well, maybe you can make new experiences now. Instead on dwelling on the past. Meet new people, try new things." She grinned up at the ghost. "So then you don't have to be sad all of the time and you can just remember people you met, or things you did, so it makes you happier." Kasey brushed some hair out of her eyes. "I'm not saying to forget what it was like to be human, just don't always think about it. Because from what I see, it makes you sad."

Elizabeth grinned, "I prefer Lizzie actually. Yeah, I guess you're right. It's still a bit depressing though. Being dead I mean."

Kasey grinned. "Lizzie, alright. I like that." She flopped back down on the grass with her hands behind her head. "I bet it would be depressing. For everyone atleast."
Kase turned her head to the ghost, Lizzie. "How did you die? If you don't mind me asking that is. You look rather young..." She trailed off, probably losing whatever she was going to say next.

Elizabeth looked down at Kasey, trying to decide if she was going to answer the question. "I was struck by lightning." She finally replied. She gazed off into the distance as her memory returned to that fateful day. "I had been spending the summer with a friend of mine, and we were out riding horses, when suddenly a storm blew up. We raced for the house...but I didn't make it. I was like 20 feet away, when the lightning hit. If I'd just been a bit faster, I'd still be alive." The young ghost sighed, "The worst part is, it was the summer before I was to enter Hogwarts as a student." She smiled grimly, "That's why I came here. If I couldn't be here in life. I can at least be here in death."
