(Lawns) Just the Usual

[Professor Ashton Laurent]

Ashton gave a small growl low in his throat, standing up he padded over to the lake, and stood at the edge, letting the water lap over his paws.

Bray rolled his eyes at the drama-queen cat. "Rejected Fay." He laughed when Ash walked away, though he had to admit he was ready to hex Ash if he even scratched her in that form. Glancing back from the girls to Ash, he quickly changed into his feline form and sneaked (I hate that word) up on the white tiger.

'It's his own fault for looking so funny.' He thought smugly as he crouched in a rather tall patch of grass closest to Ashton. 'This'll be fun'. Raising his haunches he quickly leaped toward Ash, batting his tail in mid-air before landing to the side of him. Tomcat vs. White Tiger, did Bray hit his head or something?

Ash snarled playfully as Bradyn leaped into the air, landing beside him. Quicker than lightining, Ash changed back to his human form and pinned Bradyn to the ground. "Now, what shall I do with you?" He wondered, "Ah! I know!" a mischievous glint came into his sapphire eyes, "How bout we take a little swim!?" Picking up Bradyn he carried him over to the water, and swinging him back and forth a few times, dropped him into the icy cold lake, "Have a nice swim!" he called gleefully, before reaching up and grabbing a branch of the willow he was standing under, with surprising speed and agility, Ash climbed up into the midst of the very highest branches, and peered down at the scene below.

Felicity pouted for a moment, then laughed. "Ah well, it happens all the time. I won't go to extremes to cuddle a kitty." She flicked her gaze to Eve and wrapped her arms around her. "I'll just hug you instead."

Fay noticed that Bray seemed to have disapeared. She spotted a little white patch in the grass, and laughed. "Big bad kitties are gunna fight eh?" She snickered and released Eve. Then she layed down on her stomach, with her chin on her hands and her legs swinging behind her. "Time for the show then?"

An eyebrow shot up as Ash walked away. "Not very polite" she murmured, but was cut off by Fay's hug. The girl laughed and lied down next to her. Her gaze traveled to the bright blue sky above her. She missed her homeland so much. The skies were just like the skies in France, though it was a long way from here. Eve had an idea right then. "Fay? My family and I are going to visit my relatives in France over the summer. Perhaps you would like to come? Brice and Aldric will be accompanying us half way there."

Bradyn tried to get away, but of course Ashton was faster and he was pinned. 'Damnit!' He thought and struggled against Ash as he said something about a swim. 'No! No! No!' He made sure to leave a deep gash in his arm before he was tossed into the lake. Surely Ash knew how absorbent cat hair was, he was going to be wet for the rest of the day.

With exaggerated time staying under, just to worry the brat that tossed him so carelessly in, Bray finally breached the surface of the lake again. Doggie paddling back in, much to his own embarrassment, the cat came out of the lake looking more like a drowned rat than a cat. He changed back quickly but he was still soaked to the bone, much to his own disappointment. "Don't worry guys, the lake's only like ice." He said, shivering as he pulled off his soaked Hogwarts robes. He was pretty sure being drowned was a reasonable excuse not to where them.

Bray paused by the tree that Ashton was hiding in, little cat would surely beat bit cat in his own territory. And Fay and Ever were just talking about France, for whatever reason. TMaking up his mind, Bray jumped a bit to grab onto a low branch parallel to Ash's before gracefully swinging himself up. "That was so uncalled for!"

Ash laughed. "Oh relax Bray. It was just a little fun. Not like you drowned or anything!" Laughing softly, Ash jumped to the ground. Looking up he called to Bradyn, "You comin down? Or are you gonna stay up there and sulk all day?"

Bray sat down in the nook of the tree branch. "Yeah, yeah. Mermaids don't let you drown, anyway. Unless you piss them off." At least there was a bit of sun reaching that spot in the tree, and it felt warmer than down there. Perhaps the muggle theory that heat rises had a bit of truth in it.

Glancing back down to the ground, he saw Ashton was expecting him to come down. Sticking out his tongue, Bray pulled off one of his shoes and threw it down, hoping to nail Ash in the head. "Yeah, I will sulk up here! Hmph."

Ash laughed at Bradyn's mermaid comment, "You wouldn't have seen Mermaids from where you were!" he teased. Seeing Bradyn's shoe come hurling towards him, Ashton flipped backwards, while at the same time, snatching Bradyn's shoe from midair landing lightly on his feet, Ashton crouched for a second before straightening up. With a wicked grin, Ash threw the shoe with lightning speed straight back at Bradyn.

Felicity grinned. "France? Seriously? Oh god I would absolutely love to go! Mother would probably approve." She cleared her throat and changed her voice to sound like her mother's. High and feminine-like. "Oh Felicity, France would be a perfect spot for you to find someone! Just think about all of those cute boys." Fay stuck her tongue out and rolled her eyes. Her voice returned back to normal. "Blah, Blah, Blah."

A shoe flew past her head, which was slight cause for alarm. Felicity glanced over to Bray and Ash, one eyebrow raised. "Oh we're playing that game now are we? I should wanr you, I'm going to win." She grinned and stipped off her boot. Felicity flicked the heel with her fingers and looked at both Bradyn and Ash. "Which one of you is ready to lose first, hmm?"

Bradyn laughed a bit, Ash was right but he wasn't going down that easy. "Maybe a cute little kitty in distress would've dragged them to the shallow end?" He lied, saying what first came to mind. Bray 'eep'd quietly, he didn't really expect Ash to dodge it, but then again he was of course their seeker. Smooth on land and in the air, apparently. Bray was ready when his shoe came flying back at him and he of course dodged it with ease and caught the rebound off the tree.

Holding the shoe and about ready to throw, he heard Fay talking to them this time. "Ahh! Not the boot!" He laughed and threw the shoe back at Ash before shielding his face with his arm. "Fay, you're gonna take someone's eye out with that crazy thing!"

Ashton laughed as he dodged Fay's boot. Sitting on the grass he looked over at Bradyn and Felicity. "Alright guys, that's enough playing around. I really don't want any broken bones before Quidditch starts. And I don't think you two, want an unhappy captain." he said, quickly becoming serious.
