(Lake) Avoidance

For some reason the things Maria was telling her actually didn't surprise her. The woman hadn't given off a very friendly vibe in the classroom what more could she have expected. The one thing Alexis wondered about was how come she treated the Slytherin students just as badly as she had treated the rest of them. Surely her bias would have caused her to treat them as most others who shared their views did as if they revered among all.

Curious she decided to mention this just to get a better feel. 'Then why in the world was she treating Slytherins as bad as she treated the rest of us. I would think she'd love the whole lot of them.'

It was a warm day and Mandy was quite bored. Leaving the Brockleburt's Delicious Deli, walking up the paths of Hogsmede, coming into Hogwarts grounds. Feeling empty, Mandy searched for someone to talk to.

Once she was near the lake, Mandy noticed a Ravenclaw, probually about the age of a third year. Walking up to her Mandy, being a shy girl managed to get the words,"Hi, i'm Mandy, I work and own the Brockleburst's Delicious Deli up in Hogsmede!" With saying that Mandy hoped she hadn't made a fool of herself.

Maria sighed as she thought about the next question which Alexis asked. Now she somewhat regretted telling Alexis that Aurora thought Hogwarts wasn't picky enough. She didn't quite know how to explain how her aunt saw things. Aurora did prefer Slytherins, but she would expect them to prove they were better, and Maria knew that she had treated them as she did everyone else simply to challenge them to prove themselves.

She opened her mouth and was about to answer when suddenly someone appeared and spoke. Maria turned her attention to the lake, since the woman had addressed Alexis and not her, somewhat glad that she wasn't having to try and explain Aurora's complicated logic. Maria could tell that Alexis was a smart, girl who loved knowledge. Only someone who was such would ask so many questions, and she knew that if Aurora saw the same thing in the girl that Alexis would start to get preferential treatment in her class.

Alexis had been waiting for a reply from Maria, sitting there the wind began to blow and her hair began to fly around her face. Her blue eyes sparkled in the light as she looked at the girl the whole conversation though disturbing was becoming more and more fascinating. It was odd she disliked this teacher from first meeting even though that wasn't her usual way of being. She liked trying to give people a chance but there were just some that no matter how hard you tried they rubbed you the wrong way.

As she waited she noticed an older girl or perhaps a woman that she had never seen before walking up to them. Alexis looked at her curiously but said nothing at first. Next thing she knew the girl had approached them and addressed her saying hi and telling her where she worked which was a Deli down in the village. Alexis being polite by nature smiled and said. 'It's nice to meet you Mandy I'm Alexis and this is Maria.' She wasn't sure what else to say the whole thing was a bit odd. Alexis looked over at Maria wondering what she thought of this strange new development.
