As Via flashed Polaris a grin, she matched it instantly. She could tell that the hufflepuff was nice enough and a possible friend. Looking behind her shoulder, the animagus took in all of the bodies that gathered in back of the teacher, talking quietly. In specific, she notice a small boy, a second or first year by what she could tell. Red hair and glasses, now that kid was adorable. Then again, Polaris had begun to adapt the habit of taking on younger years as a sort of sibling lately. Odd. Oh well, she was a family person.
Bi-coloured eyes then scanned over the rest of the group of students, noticing most were hufflepuffs. A single seventh year was the only Slytherin that showed up. Most were too busy hiding from the sunlight. Also, Polaris had noticed a second Ravenclaw, though she really didn't pay any attention to her. She hardly knew the girl anyways.
Returning her attention to the forest, a wide wolfish grin appeared on her lips. "So, Professor. Are we going in or just going to wait out here all day and peek in?" Was the question that was burning inside of her. It wouldn't be the first time, and quite frankly, not her last either. This wolf loved the forest and she'll be damned if she didn't go in.

Standing awkward and alone, Ivy was about to turn around the walk right back up that hill and back to the greenhouses. She would help her mother with the plants and then, she would never leave the green house again. She was being seriously silly, but she didn't care. She'll come back to Hogwarts when shes older, and not eleven.
Ivy was going to leave in three...two...she spotted a girl, her age. Seriously, a girl her age. A little bit older and a growth spurt taller, but still, her age. Ivy's spirit soared, but that didn't mean that the girl would notice her. Ivy watched as the girl seemed to go and stand with her older friends, but then she was spotted. Ivy quickly averted her eyes and starred at the ground. She didn't look up until she heard a voice.
"Hi." Ivy said in the return. She didn't know what to say, she wasn't good at making conversation. Thankfully the girl pulled her up closer, Ivy had been worried she would miss out on the lesson, but thank heaven for this girl.
Ivy stood standing next to the girl, thinking whether she should say something, introduce herself. Ivy was about to when a boy, apparently a friend of the girl came over to them. They seemed to be very good friends. Ivy stood there, seeing that the boy was nervously glancing toward Ivy, and Ivy nervously glanced toward him. Two at once, this was too much for the first year, and so she stood there, silent as before, but now with a better view of the lesson.

Dull day, dull day.. Not a single familiar face, or rather friendly one, that Erys had seen so far. Everyone was cooped up somewhere else it seemed, and she was left to lull around lazily, waiting for her next class to begin. Unfortunately she happened to doze off a while, and that while was just long enough to have her almost late for flying. Or was it Potions? Slapping her cheek gently if only to stir her memory more clearly, the Slytherin then nodded: Care of Magical Creatures next! Lovely, she quite enjoyed animals.
Slipping in to cat form to make her way quicker to the edge of the forest, Erys arrived silently, eyes flicking around to catch a glimpse of one of her friends. Alas, the only fellow snake in sight was that.. Guy, over there. She had never made his aquaintance, and since they were the only two of their house so far, might as well.. Slinking towards him around the clusterings of people, she concentrated on her human form, feeling her muscles lengthen and shift, her bones grow and settle.. And soon she was standing there. "Hey." She greeted casually, not really caring if he replied or not. She was Erys Grace. One person not liking her wasn't going to ruin her life, because if that was the case, she'd have killed herself already. Had a lot of enemies out there.
If she was late, she'd hastily add a semi-pleasant, "My apologies if I'm late, professor." only though, if she wasn't on time.

Quirking an eyebrow towards his left where a fellow Slytherin had appeared, a small smirk played on his lips. "And she finally shows, the infamous Miss Erys Grace. A pleasure." Jason's words weren't cynical or sarcastic, simply sincere. He had heard about her numerous times since he arrived here at hogwarts, but then again, who hadn't. Hazel eyes peered into her own, waiting for a reply as he folded his arms across his chest.

What was the point of this class again? This is exactly what she was wondering as she left the school building and made it to the grounds. Who in the world gave a flying flipping monkey's behind about some "mythical or mystical creatures" only three animals had any real significance as far as she was concerned, snakes were the first of course, owls well because of her animagus form, and then cats. Other than that who in the world cared about nargles or some such things. Still she enrolled in the course because it wasn't as hard as the others plus it gave her a chance to get out stretch her legs.
Scowling she took her time walking down the pathway to the class room seeing that the rest of the students weren't lined up where they normally were instead they were by the opening of the forbidden forest. Perhaps they'd take a trip in Angel could see the faces of some of her classmates, shaking in their shoes begging to go back this made her smile and kept her in a light hearted mood even after she reached the rest.
As usual the only thing that mattered to her was if Erys was there so scanning the less desirables already there she saw what she was looking for. Bee lining it for her she tapped her on the shoulder, "So what magical creatures are we being forced to learn about today?" Seeing Jason there she gave him a head nod and a smirk that was just her way of saying hello.

The yawn to end all yawns came from Julia. Birds in a near by tree flew away scared by the sound. It was hysterical to her so she stopped to look and laugh at the silly little birds scared of a young girls yawn. Being outside was fun that never would have happened in the castle the most she would have done was scare some little first year that was already afraid of everything else in the world. Yeah she was easily amused her parents often said so. She would need her sense of humor for class, not that she didn't like Care of Magical Creatures but sometimes the things she saw were weird. So she would joke to get by.
Today's lesson well she had no idea what they would be learning about. When she arrived she didn't see anything. Now she went from thinking she'd see something weird to something a bit frightening since they were so close to the forbidden forest. One place Julia seriously didn't enjoy the sight of. Once or twice she had nightmares about getting lost in there. Trying not to look like a total scaredy cat she just stood there stony faced.

Post by Prof Brianna O'Donnell on May 22, 2008 11:33:08 GMT
More and more students began to trickle in and to her great surprise there were more younger students then she had previously had. It had occurred to her that the class had an element of danger to it but she had always found that invigorating and exciting, partly the whole reason she loved this class. She wanted the students to feel secure with her at the helm, these youngsters clearly showed that more and more people were feeling so.
She greeted those that greeted her, smiling all the while. When the bi-colour eyed Claw asked about the forest Brianna turned to her slowly with a mischievous grin on her face. "We are indeed, Stormwrath," Prof O'Donnell said with an eerie air to her words. There were enough students now to begin to talk about the lesson. "We will be studying magnificent creatures today that are highly dangerous, not to be underestimated by any means."
Erys Grace came at this stage and appologised from being late. O'Donnell turned to her and nodded. "Not just yet, Grace, not just yet." She turned to look at the assembled students. What a mismatch, she thought and turned swiftly on her heal. She waved a hand over her shoulder and said loudly, "Come. Follow me." She walked into the dark trees. "Single file, do not stray off the beaten path. Anyone who does and doesn't die will be punished." The threat was more of a joke, a bit of Care of Magical Creatures humour that she was certain few would get.
Walking along a winding path that was rather sunny for this time of day, or any time of day, Bree lead the students on.
[[ the class will begin in the next post; any that post after that will be late ]] [[ points updated ]]

Polaris couldn't be more excited. This was definitly her favourite class. Rubbing her hands together with a wolfish grin, the animagus followed first behind the Professor. Good. She'll be able to experience this much better this way. Giving a soft giggle, her eyes never stopped moving around the forest, but always seemed to be on the Professor and what she said. Polaris trailed her hand by her side, ocassionally reaching out to grab a dead branch and break it off, only to break it into smaller peices. She always got fidgety when excited. Somewhat of a habit, she guessed.

Observant as she ever was Alexis stood back just watching her fellow classmates show up one by one. Some she knew some she didn't. Then there were those that she usually liked to avoid. One such person was Erys Grace one of the meanest Slytherin girls she ever met and her flunky that other girl Angel. Rumor had it the two were pretty tight, which Alexis always found funny because she didn't think Slytherins were capable of caring about anyone but themselves. That was hopeful somewhat, but if only they could try to act decent with everyone else. Eh, it didn't matter anyway she knew who to avoid and those two were it.
Meanwhile back at the ranch...Old expression and she giggled inside at it. Outside all anyone could see was a smile. She ran fingers through her hair and heard the ticking of her watch as if programmed she flipped her wrist and checked the time class was gonna be starting soon Alexis was kinda glad because she really did wanna know what they were gonna take a gander at now, all this waiting it had better be interesting. The professor asked them to follow her and since there wasn't much choice she followed.

"And she finally shows, the infamous Miss Erys Grace. A pleasure." So this was their introduction, then? Lovely. Nodding her head, the Slytherin offered a small smile, compulsary when conversing with one of her own, "As it is mine, Walker." Mr. Walker sounded a tad strange, therefor using just his last name would have to do. Moving her head slightly as an all-too-familiar wafted towards her, she felt the tap on her shoulder, and Erys Grace glanced over as Angel appeared at her side. As for her question, the animagus arched an eyebrow, staring up at the sky with momentary reflection before replying with, "You know what? I have no idea." So her memory wasn't dying out on her with age.. That was a relief. Truthfully, something about this school had her coming back. She was graduated, but she stayed back a year, not being able to part with it. She'd be the Dark Arts' apprentice soon enough.. Now was the time to have some fun.
Quirking her head to the side as the professor instructed them of what they were to do - follow, now that was easy enough - the Slytherin began to walk after, knowing Angel and Jason would follow or at least keep close. Snake's stuck together, after all, it was the norm of survival in this school for people such as themselves.

Not that she was in the mood for more walking it seemed she had no choice. The professor was dragging them into the forest and Angel rolled her eyes which she was accustomed to doing almost on a regular basis here at the school. For some reason she was growing more and more tired of the mundane life here at Hogwarts. Night after night she planned her escape, how she would managed to slink away and never look back. Then she heard that all to familiar ching ching in her head. The sound she always associated with money, that was the money that she could loose if she did things her way. Her parents would cut her off in a heartbeat and well that was way too much for her to loose out on so she stayed put and found a way to deal with it.
So now that she was over her annoyance she wanted to know what they were walking to. "Jeez all of this walking it should be called a gym class" she reiterated just avoiding tripping on a branch.

Giving a shrug, Jason simply followed after the two girls. "Walking isn't so bad, Angelique. Keeps the pudge off and tones your body." He was hoping by adding that last part she would become a bit more accustomed to walking if she knew what good it did her.
The Slytherin stared around himself while walking into the forest, his expression; bored. Nothing was entertaining about just walking, and he was hoping they would get to see much more soon, lest he have to bail.

Ugh. They had to walk too. Ellie was being quite impossible today. She was not in the mood for this. Usually Ellie was semi-ok with Professor O'Donnell bring horrible creatures to the class, but now she was actually bring the class to horrible creatures. Ellie sighed. Ellie was also worried about the fact that Professor O'Donnell chose to bring the class to the animal in its own atmosphere. Ellie guessed that the animal either was too dangerous to move or that it was very temperamental, neither of which was good new s to the Hufflepuff.
The girl tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, and waiting for most of the class to be in front of her she sighed. Interlocking her arm with Fay's, Ellie rolled her eyes and followed after some person. She wasn't really paying attention. However, she expected to spend the class in the back, away from whatever was in the forest.

Felicity sighed at the Professor's response, but didn't question her. Everything these days had to be a surprise. She was really starting to become annoyed with things like that. Why couldn't someone just come up and actually tell you what was going to happen? Oh well, no need to dwell on that now.
Fay flashed an amused grin over to El and linked her arm with her friend's. Poor Ellie, she had such trouble with animals. If El ever visited the house -more like mansion- she'd have to lock up the cats. It was ironic how El was dating the forever known 'kitty-boy' even with her dislike of animals. But, then again, she could've not known about Bray's special ability.
"Cheer up El. Just think, after this we can go catch up with Bray and go for a walk or something." She murmured lightly to her friend, ducking her head down a bit so she could whisper in her ear. Plus, the two could just stay away from said animal, because the last thing she needed was Ellie to faint or something. What would Bray do to her then?

Running late, such a terrible thing. Especially when your in the common room freaking tower and the class your supposed to be in is outside by the forest. Oh, joy, he was going to get it. No, not from Professor O'Donnell but from Fay if he lost points for the house. 'Good job, chap, miss your favorite class too,' he thought irritably as he worked his way through the labyrinth of corridors in Hogwarts and took every shortcut to the grounds that he knew. By the time he neared where they were supposed to rendez voux he saw the tail end of the class disappearing into the forest. "Shoot!" He swore and sped up his jog so that he could keep them in sights. It would stink majorly if he lost sight of them in the forest, especially knowing that there was some unknown creature out there that they planned on visiting.
By the time he caught up with the class, he was too busy focusing on catching his breath and not being noticed by O'Donnell to actually notice who was there and what they were doing. Surely the professor would fill him, and the rest of the class, in in just a moment and that would be good enough for him.
