Upon hearing that the professor had in fact not been at the dinner, Archibald smiled and nodded slowly. "Pity you were not feeling up to it," Archi said slowly, a small smile spreading across his face. "It was a most enjoyable evening. And that was where I met most of the staff, yourself and a scarce few others excepted."
Archi wasn't a terribly social being. He liked to keep to himself, keep his nose in his own business and not bother people with irrelevant questions simply for the sake of asking them. So the professor having not seen him was no strange thing, as well as her not coming to the Hospital Wing. Archibald was scarcely offended when people asked him what he was there for, it was doubtful that a 31 year old man would simply be visiting for the paintings.
A man Archi had not seen before came towards them and greeted them in a slightly obnoxious way, yet Archi found himself smiling at what the man had said. Taking a mouthful of food, Archibald smiled at the man but began to choke on his mouthful when a cold chill gripped his lungs and squeezed tightly. The ghost passed through him and apologised but Archi was too busy reaching for his cup of tea and gulping it down, the vane in his forehead throbbing prominently.
Once Archi got control of his lungs and could breath properly again, the healer tried to look at the ghost who had joined them and smile but couldn't do it quite yet. He spluttered a cough again before taking more tea. Turning instead to the woman on his other side, Archi looked at Victoria and said gruffly, "Miss Potter, do you know why they teach such a class?" A teacher would be the best judge, in Archi's view.

Victoria listened to Archi discuss the gathering. It sounded fun too bad she had missed it, but well sometimes thing shappened that one couldn't control. Vicky didn't want to dwell on it she she smiled and moved on. "Well I'm glad I'm getting to meet you now" taking a bite of her food after she spoke.
He didn't talk much though I mean not that he sat there in stony silence, but he wasn't as outgoing as some of the other professors like Dan and Mayella they were two talkative people could hold a conversation. She realized that everyone was different.
While she was thinking this through a voice sounded. Her head popped up as it always did when some odd noise caught her attention. This man was not someone she recognized but he had to be a professor or he wouldn't be sitting at their table. Victoria smiled at him and waved. Not sure of his name of anything else.
As if the staff table wasn't busy enough they were joined by a ghost who had actually passed through Archi before finding her own spot. She could see that Archi was cold he demonstarted that by taking his tea and almost gulping it down. Vicky felt horrible for him that couldn't have been a nice feeling.
The ghost asked a question about why they would teach a class on Dark Arts at the school, Vicky had wondered that herself but somehow she was actually being asked about it. She turned to Archi looking right at him she said "I don't think it's appropriate to teach such a class, at least not here but I can understand it. As they say the world can be a cruel place, there are good wizards and there are bad, a lot of harm can be done once you get into the real world. I suppose someone thought it would be a good idea for the students to know what could await them so they don't walk out of here thinking that defending dark arts is all they should know. They should know exactly what they are defending themselves against."

Listening to two certain professors, or whatever they were, talking amongst themselves, he caught the smile from the man, and returned the expression. He decided to wait until he felt it was the right moment to talk.
After piling a mountain of roast potatoes and a variety of meat onto his place, Theo decided he would introduce himself, seems as though nobody else at the table was bothering to enquire. It seems that nobody had been informed of who he was, or what he was here for, which puzzled Theodore slightly. 'Safety first' he thought to himself rather sarcastically. The thought that had just passed caused a smirk to creep upon to his face, before quickly disappearing as quickly as it came.
Sighing, he turned his body to the side, and looked down the table. How he hated awkwardness in this manner. "Hey folks, I'm Theodore Harding, the new Quidditch Coach. Apparantely you haven't been told of my arrival?" he questioned, knowing the answer already. He didn't want to seem to sarcastic or obnoxious straight off the bat, he'd wait until a bit later on for that. Raising his eyebrow after he finished talking, he searched the faces of the professors. Seeing their faces looking rather blank, Theo couldn't help but give a chuckle, that made his shoulders bob.
"I guess that's a no". He shook his head still laughing, and turned around to begin eating. It seems they weren't familiar with sarcasm here, typical really. Smiling to himself, he picked up his fork, which still had a potato extending from it, and he put it in his mouth.

Mayella's mind began to wander from the point she mentioned the wedding and she nodded slightly to words she didn't hear. It was quite an enjoyable night and she looked back on it fondly. Her favorite portion had to be when herself and her grandmother pushed snooty Rose's face in to the wedding cake. A little smirk appeared across her face as she tried to picture the moment again, rather hazily as she hasn't seen the picture in a while, but she was soon interrupted by the sound of someone choking.
Glancing over, she saw that a few more teacher had joined them. A rather unsurprising factor as they all were supposed to eat here. May frowned at the ghost that disturbed their tiny healer and shook her head a little in disappointment at her ex-house Ghost.. 'Such a clumsy one, she is, but Ravenclaw blood none the less.' Then, she caught word of the rude little brute that joined their table and took the seat on her other side without the hint of an introduction. Great, Dan on one side and the cynical new guy on her other.
Mayella smiled at the conversation about the Dark arts class. "Personally, I believe that we have that class because the predominant Slytherin wizarding families wished it to be. Most of them have powerful connections in the Ministry, and lately the Ministry's been whispering straight in to the school's ear, so to speak." Of course, that was just her opinion but she didn't believe that there'd be any credible reason for the class without Slytherins mentioned. "Although, I believe there are a few questionable classes other than that one."
Hearing her little neighbor buddy finally introduce himself, she turned towards him with a little smirk towards him though she didn't like how his presence seemed to resonate sarcasm, it reminded her far too much of her own little brother. "Obviously, we have heard of you, but we all mutually decided to ignore you." She said, following up with a little sarcasm of her own although her's was as cold as the rest of her personality. "But to follow up on your delayed little greeting, I'm Mayella Reed. Transfiguration is my forte. Pleasure to meet you." Normally she would have held her hand out for a friendly shake, but in this situation she would much rather keep her hands to herself.

Hikaru sighed wearily, massaging his temples against the massive headache that he could feel coming on; as he looked down at the tiny script of a student's pop quiz he had given earlier that week. "Why they insist on writing so small, I will probably never know." He grumbled to himself. Finally, Hikaru gave up trying to grade quizzes and set them aside. "I need a break." He said with a yawn, suddenly his stomach growled.
Hikaru chuckled lightly, "Must be lunch time." He looked up at the clock on the wall, "Yep, definitely lunch time." Standing, Hikaru stretched and pulled on his jacket (he had changed into Muggles clothes earlier). Hikaru straightened up his desk, took one last look around, and walked out of the room.
Walking down the corridors, Hikaru gave a friendly smile and wave to everyone he saw, they all waved and smiled back. Well, most of them did anyway. The Slytherin's just sneered, but Hikaru shrugged it off. No use crying over spilt milk, right?
Hikaru entered the Great Hall and made his way up to the staff table, he smiled when he saw Professor Hubbles, and Professor Reed. True, Hikaru had been here for nearly a year know, but being a little shy, didn't really know the staff. Professor Hubbles, and Professor Reed had been his first...well friends, you could say. He looked around for a place to sit.

"Personally, I believe that we have that class because the predominant Slytherin wizarding families wished it to be. Most of them have powerful connections in the Ministry, and lately the Ministry's been whispering straight in to the school's ear, so to speak." Victoria listened to the other professor speak on the matter and couldn't say she disagreed with her logic. She knew several Slytherin families whom had made mention to her about that very subject. Her mothers side of the family being pureblood were very well connected and well she got owls regularly about what the school should and shouldn't be doing. Vicky's thoughts were that if the school found it appropriate to teach who were they to judge, they weren't in charge.
The subject though seemed to be dropped when one of the new arrivals to their table began to talk. It was one of those situations in which he was better seen and not heard, once he opened his mouth things seemed to go downhill. She tried not to laugh because it was so ridiculous how cocky he was being.
Mayella seemed to give it right back to him, and Vicky wasn't going to deny he deserved it. Vicky wasn't going to ignore the man completely though she sort of wanted to. "It's nice to meet you as well I am Victoria most people call me Vicky." Maybe now that people were being polite he'd take it down a notch or two.
