Ashton Laurent sighed with boredom as he stared out the window of the common room. It had been raining all day, so everyone had been cooped up inside. They were all getting bored and irritable and needed something to do before one of them snapped and went balistic. This person, would most likely be Ash, who was not known for great patience. Sure he had patience, but it defintely had it's limits, and he was slowly but surely reaching the end of his fuse. Ash sighed and walked over to the fire, he sat down and stared into the flickering flames. "I'm so bored!" he grumbled, slumping down onto his knees which were bent with his arms wrapped around them.

Carolanne was sitting on the couch, her nose shoved in a book about boggarts. She had heard that Professor Darling was talking about bringing them into class and she wanted to be prepared. She turned the pages with much ease as she skimmed through. There was just too much about them and she wanted to know it all.
She sighed when Ash declared his boredom. "Well, do something then," she muttered from behind the book. What did he expect her to do? Laney lowered her book and stared at her brother. He looked rather childish as he sat in front of the fire. She stifled a laugh and brought her book back to her face.

Cristian had been wandering around the castle. It was a miserable day, but he'd finished his essays and needed a break. Walking back into the Common room he saw Ash and Laney and a few others moping about in the common room. "Bored are we?" he directed the question at them both before smirking.

Ash sighed. "Yes. Very bored." he looked over at Laney, "And Laney, what am I supposed to do?" His eyes searched the room for something to do. Wizard's Chess? Nah, that was getting old. Play with his snitch? No, he wasn't on the team anymore anyways. What was there to do? Ash let out a groan of frustration and leaned back against the couch. "There is nothing to do in this damn castle!" he growled irritably.

Like Laney would be the one to tell someone what to do. She set her book down with a heavy sigh, "I don't know, Ashton. Study? Read? Do whatever it is you normally do," she said a bit annoyed. Laney wasn't the one to interrupt if she was utterly consumed in a book. She turned her head in Cris' direction and rolled her eyes, "Well, apparently. Fix it," she growled at him.
And now Ash was leaning against the couch just as she was about to bring the book back up. Too late, it was knocked out of her hands. Grabbing the nearest object, which happened to be a decorative pillow, she smacked Ash with it, "Bugger off, you. I'm trying to read, honestly."

Ash felt something thump onto his head. "Ow! What was that for?" he asked turning around to glare at Laney. Seizing a pillow from the chair beside him he retaliated by throwing it at his sister. "Take that!"

Cris just watched and laughed as Laney threw a pillow at Ash to shut him up. He pointed at Ash in a mocking way and gave a hearty laugh. He grabbed a small pillow off the nearest chair and threw it at Ash also.

"Ow!" Ash turned around to glare at Cris, "God why are you two attacking me?" he whipped a pillow at Cris as well.

Laney felt something hit her, sending her book flying across the room. "You've got to be kidding me," she muttered. Great. I've started a war. This was exactly what Laney needed, not. Just when things had settled for her, the boys decide to get all riled up and start a pillow war and Laney was in the middle of it. She had only meant to shut Ash up so she could read, but it seems it grew into something more.
Ducking from the flying pillows, she grabbed the one she had used earlier and covered her head as if something would hit her any minute. "I didn't mean do this, Cristian!" she shouted. "What are you guys? Five?!"

Ash snickered, "Of course we are. Well, we're older than that. But we're just children at heart!" he said whipping another pillow at Laney.

Post by Katya Ilychovich on Apr 11, 2008 3:40:50 GMT
It wasn't strange, that the sound of laughter woke Katya Ilychovich from a pleasant nap. She loved the sounds of peoples voices, how emotion seeped from them and more than often, they didn't even realise it. It was like they were opening a book of their life, on the chapter of their thoughts and feelings, and she was taking a quick peek inside. But she wasn't using her eyes, no, her keen ears, perking at the sound of many light objects thumping against harder ones. Is there a fight going on downstairs? Couldn't be, there was laughter going on.. They must be playing. Thought the little Russian girl as she rose from the bed - fully dressed, having fallen asleep clothed - stretched, and walked into the room. Soon, out of nowhere, a pillow shot towards her face, thrown by unseen hands or magic. Her ice blue eyes opened wider in surprise, as she let out a silent grunt, tumbling back on her butt and smacking her spine against the wall. Like they would notice her, no one did. They didn't even know she was mute, not a single one. And if they did, they steered clear of her, finding her to be a freak without even really getting to know her. ' Ow! ' The Ravenclaw mouthed, doubting they would have noticed her, as the havoc and kamikaze throw pillows ricocheting around were sure to provide ample distractions.
Leaning forward, the mute twisted her arm around awkwardly to rub her back. Scrunching her eyes shut and opening them, Katya realised then and there that there was a battle going on. But with pillows not fire-arms. She never expected any loud bangs, of course, unless they broke a window or knocked over a lamp, but still, better safe than sorry. Standing shakily, whether with help or not, Katya wanted so much to join their fun, but the fact that she was unsure if they'd allow her was still present. So, standing there on the outskirts of mass, feathered chaos, the 'Claw glanced around, a rosy tinge warming her cheeks.[/color]
