Dan watched with a small, caring smile filling his features as Hannah made her way over to the available chair. She seemed to be slightly tentative about sitting close to him, or at least at first he thought it was him but when Dan gave a fleeting look towards Will he noticed the look on his friend and suddenly everything clicked. He remembered Will telling him about a little date he had with Professor Hannah Edgecombe and clearly by the way they were both acting something had happened.
The headmaster was finding it hard not to laugh at the awkward situation that was slowly filling the staff table around him. Although he soon had something else to laugh at when somebody else entered the room and caught his eye. It was let another one of the female Professors at the school and Dan could remember a time when Victoria Potter was just another staff member, just another woman for him to smile and chat up. Little did he know about the hidden feelings she held for him otherwise he might have shown more compassion for the poor girl.
Dan continued to watch her as she sat down carefully; pouring a drink of water that seemed to be made up half of ice cubes and then finally rest her head upon the table. Dan knew what was going on and although the professional side of him wanted to condemn her for turning up on the job Dan was not really one to complain seeing as he had turned up more then once to lessons still drunk let alone with a hangover. So instead Dan thought he would do the more friendly approach.
“I will be back in a minute Will.” He gave his mate small pat on the back before looking towards the Professor on his other side. “Excuse me a minute Hannah, just going to make sure Vicky is ok…eat something, the pasta looks great today.” He offered her a small smile, feeling slightly worried about how little he had been seeing her at any meals in recent weeks.
Pushing himself up off his chair Dan slowly made his way across towards the History of Magic Professor and flopped down in the chair next to the one she was sitting in. For a few seconds Dan just looked at the mass of chair that had flopped everywhere and was trying not to laugh, oh how he would have loved to get a paper bag and pop it right by her ear whole, it would have been very immature and very mean but it was one of those situations where the temptation was great…however Dan had learned to get over moments of temptation.
“You know what…” he started thinking that the calm and casual approach would be better then the loud and boisterous one. “Your body is currently dehydrated due to the vast amounts of alcohol you consumed the night before at the Hogshead. So that glass of water may help slightly but the amount of alcohol you must have had to give you such a hangover means you would need to drink a pint of water every hour.” A small grin was filling Dan’s face as he continued. “I would advice Orange Juice because not only does it hydrate but you also get that sugar rush which always helps, or the big fry up of a breakfast as it will get you digestion system working and clear out those toxins.“

They were dancing the cha cha cha inside her head. The male was leading and he was stomping around in side Victoria's head. Pound pound pound it was making her crazy. Why oh why had she left her room she should have stayed in bed and maybe she wouldn't be feeling so miserable. Plus she must have looked odd sitting there with her head down, but what was she to do.
More buzzing, the sounds of people talking just seemed amplified and she wanted to tell them all to just shut up. She couldn't do that which was such a shame. Oh why did she have so much to drink, she normally knew her limit but something had been bother her so she just lost herself in the bottom of a bottle of tequila.
Totally unprofessional she knew, teaching her class that day was damn near impossible, she still wasn't sure how she made it through. The bartender didn't think to stop her the owner whom she had met not to long ago probably would have, but that bartender well he must have thought if she was drunk enough he could take her to his room. He spent most of the night flirting with her but she was too self involved to give him the time of day.
Now she was paying for her indiscretion, boom boom boom. That was the sound in her head still. "Oh" she groaned. That's when she suddenly smelled a familiar smell. Her head pounded harder as blood rushed to her brain. Why was he coming near her now? This surely wasn't what she needed, part of the reason she had gone out to get drunk was so she could top thinking about him. Just perfect she thought figuring this couldn't get any worse.
Apparently it could since he seemed to notice she was hung over. Her came to make nice and give her hangover remedies. Now she felt like a true looser. This was the last thing she had wanted to happen. The headmaster seeing her like this, why didn't someone just shoot her now. She groaned again, "Thanks, but I'll be fine" though she sounded anything but, she couldn't even look up now she was so embarrassed.

As the pair of friends sat chatting away, there was a nagging feeling at the back of Will's mind, gnawing away at his brain, and whatever Dan said just went into one ear and out of the other. Hannah looked totally different to her usual beautiful self, and it was worrying to see her in such an unfit state. As Victoria joined the table, Will managed a weak smile before the gnawing began again.
The school had pretty much turned to ruins. The staff were not at their best, there were all sorts of changes, the students were taking advantage and acting up, and Will just hoped that Dan would sort things out. Of course he would, it was Dan for merlin's sake. He didn't like seeing things go to the dogs, and especially when it was now under his name. Will knew Dan, along side Girty and the new Mrs Hubbles, he would be guided and have a little help from his friends to help get Hogwarts back on track. Things were going to be better from now on, Will just knew it.
Thinking of the chair again and how Girty would be fighting with Will over it, he smirked to himself before looking at Dan before he walked away and shouted "My chair!!" before leaning back into it, and giving a small smile in Victoria's direction again. Okay, so now he was technically alone with Hannah, the poor woman looked ill it was very worrying. Leaning over slightly before nudging his chair nearer to hers, he sighed before looking at her. "Han, erm..are you alright? I don't mean this in a bad way but you don't look too well"
Looking over at the house tables, he remembered where he was once again, and the heavy boring atmosphere was still present over Hogwarts. Sighing, he thought of a way on how he could lift the spirits of the whole school as a quick fix. Looking around for ideas, he spotted a potted plant on the other end of the staff table and grinned. Standing up, he jumped up onto the table and grinned down at Hannah before looking over to Dan.
"Come on then Headmaster, it is time we are tarzan's and we find our jane's!" he chuckled, as he pulled out his wand from his back pocket and began flicking it this way and that, creating the beginnings of a jungle in the great hall. Stopping after a few spells, he looked back to Dan. "Come on" he laughed. "We both know you won't sack me, and you need to let your wild side out!!"

Dan gave a very unconvincing hum when Vicky said she would be alright, she did not look it and most certainly did not sound it but he can not say he did not try, if she did not want his help then there was not much he could do about it. With a small smile Dan placed a hand on her shoulder and gave it a small squeeze in reassurance.
“If you ever need anyone to talk to Vicky I am here for you, it is my job to look after my staff but I am doing this cause you are my friend and I never like seeing friends like this.”
Removing his hand from her shoulder he reached out and poured her a drink of Orange Juice before hearing someone further down the table calling out for him. A frown spread across his face at first as he looked at Will as he jumped up onto the table, the guy could do some stupid things at times and for a split second Dan thought he was going to start to do the Fully Monty (that had been a fun night out the last time they did that) but he noticed the Potions Master start to cast some magic on the plot plants and them slowly growing bigger, wilder…into a jungle. At first Dan was shocked into silence then a smile spread across Dan’s face and he too pulled out his wand and jumped on top of the staff table and began to cast charms to make the flagstone crack and trees grow up, pushing the house tables on to their sides.
With the help of the two professors the Great Hall turned more and more like a forest, wild undergrowth under a canopy of trees, vanes hung down from the trees, tropical flowers began to sprout here there and everywhere and all Dan could do was stand and laugh. Will was right, there was no chance they would get sacked as long as they cleared up the mess afterwards, there really was no harm in having a bit of fun.
Turning to look at his best mate Dan made his way down the remains of the staff table, jumping over the wild plants that had now surrounded it to stand next to Will. Looking over the jungle Dan admired there work and patted Will on the back, now was when the real fun began. With a wide grin Dan gave a small flick on his wand and Will’s clothes turned from the smart causal look to the leopard skin loin cloth look.
“Oh Will have you been working out?” Dan teased as he looked at his almost naked friend. “I think you will be able to find your Jane, I have no idea where mine is.”

Post by Professor Dia Hubbles on Jul 10, 2008 20:05:13 GMT
It had been a strange thing to walk the halls and see the paintings and tapestries the hung around the castle as she did when she was young but having changed so much, having come so far. She was married now, she was happy with the direction her life was going in, a feeling she couldn't remember having in far too long. Time moved on, and at that moment so did she, towards the Great Hall for lunch.
As she moved at a slight gallop down the steps towards the Great Hall she was greeted by the melodious sound of ... screaming? Dia caught herself and stopped to listen. Students suddenly started rushing past her, one Slytherin actually bumped into her. He turned to appologise and Dia firmly caught him by the arm and said, "what's happened?" The Slytherin mumbled something about savage plants eating his homework and the Great Hall and proceeded to run off.
Most befuddled by his words, Dia stood close to the railing and waited for the hordes of students to go past before she made her way into the Great Hall. Dia was wearing a suit that day, black, with a white blouse and her favourite pair of high healed boots. So when she approached the entrance to the Great Hall cautiously, seeing great roots stretching out of the open doors, Dia knew she'd have a time getting in.
She decided to not go in just yet but to rather look in. Peering into the tangled mess of vines that hung limply from somewhere above the enchanted ceiling, Dia could see the culprits of this latest feat in the depth of the jungle. Will and Dan were standing right ahead of her and Dia could not help but smile. Trust them, was the only thing that passed through her head as she carefully began to make her way towards them.
All around her she could seem the remnants of the house tables that had until, she was sure, only a few minutes ago was full of students, happily eating their lunch before their afternoon classes. Stepping carefully, her eyes turned back to the two men ahead of her. Carefully, Dia made her way across the Hall to her husband. She stopped a few meters in front of them and crossed her arms, a sardonic grin on her face, looking from the one man to the other.
Knowing full well only they could conjure up something like this, Dia blinked her blue eyes at them slowly. "I take it you punished the trouble makers who did this?" she asked, still looking inquiringly from the one to the other.

The sight of Will was too much and all Dan could do was sit and laugh at this almost naked man in front of him, oh what he would have done for a camera at that very moment. Managing to calm his laughter down ever so slightly the Headmaster soon noticed that most students were running out the room screaming, which may not have been the best thing in the world as it was bound to attract attention. This is clearly what happened as a very bemused Professor appeared at the entrance of the Jungle, all be it a very beautiful looking Professor.
Just as what had happened so many times in his life before Dan Hubbles watched Dia walk towards him, a smile spread across his face, although nothing would beat that moment in Egypt when she walked down the aisle towards him, arm in arm with her father, dressed in white. Even during his moments of complete immaturity, such as now, he could still appreciate how lucky he was to be with such a woman. As her devastatingly beautiful blue eyes flashed upon him along with those sarcastic words Dan just nodded his head.
“Yep…totally.” Dan grinned as he looked down at Dia. “They have been punished and will be forced to pay for making Professor Vaid look like a total prat.”
Dan could not help but snigger as he looked around to see Will standing there in his loin cloth. It really did look like he belonged at a fancy dress party, not the great hall at Hogwarts, although it was not really the Great Hall anymore, more like the Great Jungle of Hogwarts. Twirling his wand around in his fingers Dan slot it back into the wand pocket inside of his jacket and jumped off the remains of the table onto the jungle floor. Had he been sober the jump would have been a bit easier but after a few glasses of Champaign Dan’s balance was not what it should have been and he stumbled forward as he tried to regain his balance. Sticking out his arms Dan straightened his back he gave his wife the cheesiest grin possible, before glancing over his shoulder and giving the same smile to Will.
“Do you like our handy work then Illy?” Dan looked back at Dia unable to keep a straight face. “We thought the hall needed redecorating, reminds me of being in the Amazon, but without the scary tribes and their evil darts of poison.”
Dan gave a small shudder at the thought of the real thing, and that was when he noticed the students gathering outside the hall. A few brave soles had stayed in and were looking in wonder at what was going on, others had followed the Astronomy teacher and were gingerly making their way in. Giving Dia a quick kiss Dan zig zagged his way through the trees before leaping up and taking hold of one of the vines that hung down from above. Lifting his feet of the floor Dan swung on the vine letting it propel him further along the mini jungle; he was having far too much fun.
It seemed that seeing the headmaster jump around like an idiot encourage a few more people to be brave and they started to climb the trees and swing around noticing that they were not going to get in trouble for doing so. With a small smile Dan made his way back towards Dia, jumping off a vine before he actually ploughed straight into her.
“Me Tarzan…You Jane. Together we make passionate love in tree tops.”

Dia could hardly believe that she had considered these hooligans men once upon a time and at the sight of Will, Dia could do nothing but laugh. It was a quick, short laugh, the kind that sounds like it escaped unwittingly. Dia put her hand on her mouth, her other arm crossing to prop up the first. Dia could scarcely believe what these boys had done. The Astronomy professor could hear her mother's voice in her head, "if that had happened around my mother's time it would have been over the knee and twenty lashes". Of course, Dia's grandmother was the type of woman to spare the rod.
Dan jumped off from his high platform and wobbled towards her. Dia sighed, her smile shrinking slightly. He had been drinking, she could tell, and she wasn't sure if she was entirely happy was that fact. She wasn't going to say anything though, she had learnt to trust Dan and as he looked at her she felt secure in trusting him. He flashed her a cheeky grin and Dia smiled bemusedly back at him despite herself.
"I think that this is going to make teaching a trick and a half," Dia said, looking over one shoulder, then the other. All the students would know about this already, though possibly a contorted version of the truth as these things often spread like that, and they would be talking about it for days to come. She doubted that anyone had thought about that ... but then again how often do you think over doing something like this? she asked herself.
It was amazing, really, that they had managed to get such a thick vegetation grown over the cold, hard stone. It seemed that Dan took advantage of her wavering eye as he pecked her on the cheek before doing a money-man impression. Dia turned slowly to watch him, laugh to herself at just how silly he looked. There was not a chance she would be able to do anything like that, her inhabitions wouldn't let her.
Dan came straight at her and Dia knew he would crash into her. Dia caught him as he did, laughing, her fringe falling out of her fastened hair. "You are such a boy," she chuckled fondly. When Dan spoke, Dia let out a laugh that was high and girly. She could not believe he would say such a thing, even though it was such a Dan thing to say. "Oh, no!" she said, shaking her head emphatically from side to side, the loose hair before her eyes flapping along, "Not on your life, Monkey Man." She put her hands on Dan's chest to hold him at bay, just so he knew she was serious even though she was laughing.

Will had failed to notice the fact that Dan had pretty much stripped him naked, and replaced his clothes for a leopard print loin cloth. He was too busy laughing at the slytherin who he stole the newspaper from and their disgust and un-amused faces gossiping with each other at the state of the professor and Headmaster, not to mention what they had just done to the great hall. Will only noticed he was half-naked when he suddenly got a breeze from the great hall door opening. Looking at Dan, hoping he didn't make him naked in front of the entire school, he stared at him for a moment before slowly looking down to see the loin cloth. With a breath of relief, he huffed. "Well thank merlin for that, I was hoping you would give me some dignity at least!" he grinned, before seeing Dia make her entrance towards the table.
Flicking his wand up to the enchanted ceiling, a vine descended from it and swung down gracefully in front of him. Looking back at Dia, he laughed before expanding his chest and beating it with both fists. "Dan's jane!" he bellowed, pointing to her, before grasping back onto the vine. Now was time for payback. As Dan jumped down off the table, Will flicked his wand at him and Dan's clothes were too soon replaced by a smaller leopard loincloth. Will couldn't help but burst out laughing at how ridiculous they both looked, and he realised Sandra would soon come in too look at Dan half-naked, if she wasn't there already.
Looking down at Hannah, he gave her a big cheesy grin before scooping her up in one arm by her waist and setting her on the table, his arm still around her. "Will's Jane" he grinned looking from Dan to Dia then back to Hannah. Grabbing hold of around her waist again, he grabbed onto the vine and jumped off the table, and began swinging.

Dia caught Dan rather safely and he was relieved not to have sent her flying, but also it was rather nice to be able to stand here with Dia, there arms around each other and able to have a laugh. Dan was a little sort of breath from the running and the swinging so he just looked down at Dia, a broad grin on his face feeling completely like a seven year old all over again.
“Well I am pleased by now you have realised what gender I am.” He teased as he removed the strands of hair that had been flopping over Dia’s eyes. He had almost forgotten about putting on the macho jungle man talk but as he looked over at the staff table it seemed that Will was keeping the whole act going. With a small smile Dan looked back at Dia and gave her a small wink. “Me man, you woman, we rule the jungle as we are sexier then the others. Dan’s Jane must not let her Tarzan down.”
Dia’s hands were firmly on his chest and this was a sure sign that she was not budging from her decision. Looking directly into her eyes Dan pouted slightly trying to act all innocent and hurt, but it was not a look he pulled off very well and simply ended up laughing after a few seconds. With a small sigh Dan pulled Dia tighter into an embrace and kissed the top of her head, he would not force her to do anything she did not want to do and although the temptation was far too great to just too just take her away by force. Much like Will had just done with Hannah.
Stepping back to admire his friends handiwork of hostage taking it was only then did Daniel Hubbles realise that he was no longer standing there in his suit, but a leopard skin loin cloth. A frown etched its way across his forehead for the briefest of moment before being washed away by a sea of laughter.
“Oh you are dead Vaid!” Dan shouted and he began to run after the swinging Will, jumping up and taking hold of another vine and just like before and the Monkey-Man he was Dan Hubbles chased after his friend working out he could possible seek revenge, although as he made his way higher into the trees he realised that the other students where just sitting ducks. Dan knew you should not cast magic on students, it was against school rules but rules were designed to be broken.

Dan got up to check on one of the other professors she didn't look that well either. Actually she looked sort of hung over, Hannah almost laughed simply because she had wanted to go out the night before and have a few drinks, it was probably a good thing she hadn't or she'd be looking like that right about now. In all her thoughts of what was going on at the other side of the table she didn't realize that she was left alone with Will. They hadn't been alone in some time and that was mostly her doing, at a loss for words she simply sat there looking at the food she really didn't want to eat.
Trying to ignore something didn't mean it went away Will didn't go away he was there and he noticed what was obvious to basically everyone, she didn't look good. She felt ashamed her green eyes looking up at him, her weakness showing like a beacon of light. "I'm fine" she heard herself lie without flinching. Who was she fooling? Not herself that was for sure. No she was not fine but she didn't know what to do about it anymore.
Things went wild, then Will maybe deciding things were too dreary at the staff table chose to lighten things up. One moment she was in the Great Hall and next moment she was in a scene from some muggle Tarzan movie. Things were just going wonky suddenly and Hannah couldn't stop from laughing. Suddenly Will's clothes disappeared to be replaced by a barely there loin cloth. Hannah's eyes hadn't really moved from him but then several female students were staring at the exact same thing.
Suddenly Daniel Hubbles headmaster was dragged into it. Now there were two jungle men in loincloths in the Great Hall. Giggles were breaking out all over, girls were pointing, boys were making gagging noises. Hannah was enjoying herself more than she had in weeks. Will looked down at her and smiled, then before she knew it she was being picked up and placed on the table beside him. Laughing was all anyone could hear from her lips as her jungle man took her. His arm around her waist she was holding on to his as they swung on his magical vines. "Will's Jane" she mimicked as she regained some of the color in her cheeks, her dark hair flowing in the breeze from the swinging.
