Helen stroked the top of her owl's head and looked out the window. She wondered where her family was right now. Receiving a letter from her father, Helen was informed that they were taking a vacation...without her. This piece of news brought her down a bit, but she hoped they were having a good time...and buying her gifts. Helen smiled at this thought and tied her letter to the owl.

Mikey climbed the steps of the Owlery, a letter to his friends in private school, clutched in his hand. Reaching the top, he selected a barn owl and tied the letter to it's leg. After telling it where to deliver the letter, he turned and saw a Ravenclaw girl. "Oh, hello there." he said, smiling.

Helen watched her owl take off and soar through the air, and secretly wished she could fly as well. The door creaked open and a male voice spoke.
"Oh, hello there."
Helen turned and saw a boy, maybe around her age, Gryffindor. Smiling, she waved a little. "Hello." There was an awkward pause. Helen had never seen him before, and the house difference obviously did not help. Her gaze wandered around the room, semi-waiting for the boy to say something. Helen thought that she ought to introduce herself, but felt it would be better to wait.
