A trip, a snap, a breakage. "Ah, no! My wand!" Helena swore loudy, and stared down at the two uneven pieces. The wand had snapped near the tip, a jagged splinter down its side and white shimmering unicorn hair peeking out.
She sighed in a strange sort of way, exhaling quickly while making a "Puhhhhhh" sort of sound.
Helena awkwardly shook the wand, the little almost-detached piece swinging around. "Whoosh."
"Swish.." click, the sound of wood against wood. The wand moved awkwardly, "And flick." Jab. The hanging piece swung for awhile before finally stopping as Helena flicked.

Ellie walked fast down the hall. She was late. She had never been late before in her life. Ok, so she had been late, but she had never been unintentionally late before. there was always those days when it is so hard to get up, you just say, five more minutes and then, ahh, twenty more, and then oh well, damn the first class. But Ellie had just lost track of time.
The night before had been interrupted by nightmares and horrible dreams. Sleep didn't come easy for the Hufflepuff. However, finally getting up, Ellie moved a lot slower than usual, although time continued at the same pace. Now, she was late, and taking big steps wasn't helping.
Putting on foot in front of the other, Ellie bound down the stairs and turned the corridor, her long legs gaining ground on time. However, with one step, a trip, and a snap, Ellie had no chance of making it.
Ellie had managed to trip someone, which ended with Ellie falling over the tripped personage. Ellie tumbled over them, feeling a pointy stick in her back. "Ooo." Ellie said, rubbing her lower back where the stick had been. She looked over at the girl she had tripped. Seeing a wand dangling over itself, Ellie's face scrunched in horror. "Oh...my..." Ellie said looking at the girl, who was trying to see if it worked.
"I'm sorry.." Ellie said, though her mind was saying, Nice one. You just ruined this girl's life. Brilliant. "Jeeze." Ellie said, slapping herself in the head.

Helena turned around to see Ellie... Oh, the seeker, she vaguely remembered.
She grinned. "Not bad, Rook. Not bad at all. You're almost as bad as me." Helena turned to her with a look that said, It's fine, no big deal, I forgive you.
And she tried to hide her disappointment looking down at the two broken pieces of the wand that held so many memories.

"Almost." Ellie said, smiley vaguely at Helena. Even though they were on the same quidditch team, Ellie had never really struck up a conversation with the girl. As seeker, Ellie rarely had to interact with any of the other players, and with all the crazy house interaction, she had been playing with Fay and Bray and totally ignored everyone else. Not very Hufflepuff of her.
Ellie got up, still rubbing the spot on her back. She was sure she would have a wand tip shaped bruise on her lower back tomorrow morning. She reached down toward Helena to help pull her up. "Maybe we can...uhh..fix it." Ellie said, looking at the wand. It was disastrous. There would be no fixing that wand, however, Ellie would try before she gave up just like that.

"Nah, I doubt it." Helena wasn't pessimistic, but she was rational. "I can buy a new one or something. I'll be fine."
Helena watched Ellie rub her back, realizing that what she wand had jabbed must have been her back. Oh, damn, she thought.
"Are you alright? Does it hurt?" Helena internally slapped herself. "'Course it hurts. What class do you have now?"
Helena had History of Magic which was a bore (she read about History that interested her alone in the library), so she didn't particularly care. But maybe Ellie did.

"Oh, no." Ellie said, still rubbing the spot. "Ok yeah, a bit. But I'll live." She said with a smile. "My fault anyways. In such a hurry and all." She said shortly. She checked her watch. Seven minutes late. She sighed, it was a lost cause.
"Oh, History of magic." Elie said, starting to walk down the hall. Maybe Helena would follow and Ellie wouldn't be horribly late. Come to think of it, they were in the same house and year, Helena probably had History of Magic too. "You the same?" Ellie asked.

(OOC: Wow, I somehow thought Ellie was a 6th year !)
"All right." Helena said, slightly relieved by Ellie's confident voice.
"I have History of Magic too." Helena debated whether to ask Ellie to skip with her. She hated to bring down Ellie's grade or anything, just because Helena was a lazy bum.

Ellie smiled. "Think about it this way, you don't need your wand for History!" She said, trying to keep the mood up. Ellie felt bad that she had broken Helana's wand, but then again, the girl was completely right, she could replace it. It was just a matter of time.
"Have a rough morning too?" She asked. She couldn't help but notice that Helena was probably going to be late for class, if she was even planning on going to class. As described before, Ellie's morning had been hectic, and now she had been the cause of a horrible accident.

"That's true," Helena said "But I wouldn't know, I never pay attention in History of Magic."
Helena didn't actually have a rough morning, other than the usual tsunami of frizzy, messy hair. Helena was a morning person (but also a night owl). "No, not really. Just being lazy."

Ellie laughed. "Well, it is pretty easy to fall alseep. Boring lectures, long reading. ugh." Ellie said with a smile. She didn't exactly enjoy History, but it was still a class. She at least made an attempt to stay awake.
Ellie wondered what her life would be like if she was lazy? She wouldn't get anything done, and she barely got everything dome not being lazy. ellie was sure she would have mental break down if she was lazy. "Yeah, Its been a crazy week." She added. Nightmares every night, no sleep, tons of homework in time for OWLS. Stress was at a high.
