This... He did not like...
Simple as, the poor new sixth year Gryffindor was wandering around the corridors aimlessly. On a normal day, right about now he would probably be sat on the lawns with his friends and, well now, ex girlfriend having a laugh at anything and everything. First of all, he hated being the newkid anywhere, second of all, this wasnt just a transfer to a different school, but it was a transfer to a different country.
Another problem was, that half-brother of his was also knocking around somewhere, luckily he had yet to run into him. What was it his mother said? "This would be a great opportunity for you both, Max is in Gryffindor too". Yeah, fantastic opportunity. Except he had gone this long without a brother, he didnt need one now. Walking down the corridors, whispers followed him about the new kid at school, and how much he looked like Maxi. Another question that was once thrown his way was, "Your not gay too, are you?" No, Jase was most certainly not gay.
Jase wasnt having a particulary good day, he had started late on in the term so had to be sorted by the hat in the Headmasters Office, which in a way he was glad about. Kept peering eyes off him anyway.
THUD
Jase found a wall. He had walked into someone being completley lost in his thoughts and had somehow managed to catch himself on the wall. This was not turning out to be a good day. "Sorry!" He mumbled, his american accent wasnt as thick as someone might have thought it would be. Due to his mother's british side, his accent was a cross british/american one. "Are you alright?"

It was a rather rough day for Carolanne McLane. Her bag had gone missing again and she was stuck lugging her books around in her arms. She was starting to feel like another Luna Lovegood as the day progressed. It wasn't exactly a nice feeling either. What did she care though. She needed a new bag anyway. Maybe I should see if Maxi will go to Hogsmeade with me and help me find a bag, she thought to herself. Would Max actually do that or was he still avoiding her? Who knew.
The sudden feeling of intrusion woke her from her thoughts as her body collided with another. Her books fell to the ground, save one that she clung in her fingertips by a mere five pages. She was about to say a few, rather rude and obnoxious words to the body's owner until a she caught a glimpse of the stranger's face. "Woah," was all she could manage to get out.
Realizing he had apoligized, she shook her head and smiled, "I'm alright. Nothing a little chocolate won't fix," she answered. Examining his face, she caught a few qualities that belonged to another gryffindor she knew. One she admired. Maxi. This boy was much shorter than Max however. She had the sudden urge to ask him if he knew Maxi but let it slip her mind so she could introduce herself. "I'm Laney. Laney McLane," she said as she bent down to retrieve her other books quickly.

The girl infront of him seemed to stumble backwards a bit and drop all her books. He could only assume she had forgotten, lost or broken her bag, though one book still held tightly in her hands, though her eyes were fixed upon Jase's face as though she knew him from somewhere. Though Jase knew he had never seen her before so he was clueless as to why she was looking at him like that and suddenly found himself uncomfy. He, somehow, had caught a book of hers and with a slight smile, passed it back to the girl.
"I wasnt watching where I was going," Jase said simply with a shrug as he pushed himself off the wall, running a hand through his hair. "I uh, dont have any chocolate on me im afraid." He gave a soft laugh and rubbed the back of his neck which was hurting him a little bit as he had twisted it when he had collided with her. He watched with a little unease as she studied his face, as though looking for something, consiously moving a hand to his face he said, "Do I have something on my face or something?"
"Laney?" He had never heard that name before and out of politeness he bent down too and helped her gather up her fallen books. "Jason Tyler-Wilde. Though most people call me Jase" He gave her a smile as he picked up a History of Magic book which looked like it had been trodden on at somepoint. Turning it round in his hands he looked at it for a moment before passing it back.

Carolanne tried not to look at him. It was weird how much he looked like Max and it was honestly starting to weird her out. She didn't recall Maxi having any brothers so it was sort of out of the question. As he handed her a book, she smiled in appreciation, "Thank you," she muttered.
Laney held up a hand, "It's alright. Either was I. It wouldn't be the first time, trust me." When he mentioned not having chocolate, Laney laughed, "Don't bother. I'll be fine. I'm sure I have some in my dorm or if not, the kitchen's sure to have some chocolate chip cookies at least." As he ran a hand through her hair, she couldn't help it as a shiver ran its course down her spine. How was this boy so familiar yet a stranger? "Er sorry. No, you're face is fine. You just remind me of someone, is all."
As she picked up a few books, she nodded, "Well, it's actually Carolanne but I prefer Laney," she corrected herself as she looked at him. When Jase picked up her History of Magic book, she couldn't help for feel a little deja vu. "Riiiight," she mumbled. Wilde, so maybe he's not related to Maxi. Or... Laney didn't know how to make the resemblance work in her mind. "I'm sure you've been asked this a lot so I'm sure once more won't kill you. By chance, you wouldn't know Maxi Hennerdale, would you?"

He noticed she wasnt looking at him, which either meant he was somehow weirding her out or she fancied him. Personally, he preffered that latter thought, he hated thinking he could weird someone out. Though he didnt want anybody fancying him just yet, sheesh let the boy settle in first would ya? "Its alright."
Jase smiled, it seemed as though they were both having a pretty rough day. But what else could he do? He was new here, and as much as he hated to admit it, didnt know anybody. Including Maxi, he didnt even know what Maxi looked like, he only knew his brothers name. "Chocolate chip cookies, I'll have to bear that one in mind." He gave a small laugh, Jase always got chocolate cravings, so knowing something like that was always useful, though as for her next comment, he had gotten that a lot, You remind me of someone, yeah yeah, Jase reminded people of Maxi apparently, so that meant he must look like him somehow.
"Carolanne..." He repeated as though trying to get the sound right on his tongue, of course it was right but usually Jase repeated names when he first heard them as a way to remember them. He heard her mumble something but he didnt quite catch it and didnt bother to ask her to repeat it either. Then the sincher came when she asked a question he had already been asked a million and one times today and in truth, and you could tell by his face, he was getting sick of answering it. "Maxi Hennerdale" The name sounded cold coming off Jase's tongue, "He's my half brother. Though I have no idea what he looks like or who he is. Ive never actually met the guy so..." He gave a shrug showing he wasnt particulary bothered by the fact he didnt know Max. He wasnt missing much he was sure of it. "Why?"

Laney laughed, "Yes. Please do. Hogwarts has thee best chocolate chip cookies around. Well, in my opinion anyway," she said with a nod of her head as she straightened her books in her arms. Jase was almost a spitting image of Max, and it made her semi-comfortable around the stranger.
As he repeated her name, Carolanne pursed her lips a bit and nodded. At least he could say it right. Laney looked down the corridor avoiding Jase gaze. She knew it obviously wasn't a good thing if he said Max's name so coldly. So he was Maxi's brother, did Max know about him? He must've.
Carolanne shifted her gaze back to Jason, "I see. Well, if it helps, He's like 6 feet tall, blond and looks alot like you." Laney doubted that he really wanted to find Max, but Laney figured he'd recognize Maxi no matter how she explained him. "Why? Well, I'm Maxi's..." Girlfriend? No, I don't think. "I'm his ex's sister. He's a really good friend of mine."

There was one problem with that plan, Jase didnt know where the kitchens were, but he was too stubborn to ask. He was sure he would find it eventually on his own anyway so what did it matter right? "Any chocolate chip cookies are good!" In his opinion, when he had a chocolate craving, anything chocolatey would do, it didnt matter if it wasnt as good as some things, to Jase, chocolate was chocolate.
"Great" Mumbled Jase, just what he needed, now he'd be looking at every tall blonde thing thinking it was Max. He looked at her when she said he looked like Max, so that was the reason she had been giving him strange looks, he looked like his brother. So that meant Maxi looked like thier dad, at least thats what his mother told him. Somehow, her explanation of what she was to Maxi, he didnt quite believe she was only his ex's sister.
"So, he went out with your sister then?" The thing was, Jase knew nothing about his brother, only the fact he was his brother and his name was Max. Now he knew he was 6ft tall and blonde too and clearly had a thing with. Jase had no clue Maxi had been gay. Sighing as he leant back on the wall, Jase tried to compose himself, he really wanted to be back in America, he was missing Kay so much and things here were just too different for his liking.

Carolanne nodded. She wasn't going to disagree with that statement. She was a chocolate addict herself and had quoted the any chocolate's better than no chocolate phrase more than she could count. "Eh, you might run into me in the kitchens sometime."
Laney felt as if she made a mistake in half describing Maxi. Carolanne pulled out a few pictures out of her back pocket and handed the one of Maxi, Ash and herself to Jase. "That's him," she said pointed to Max. "If it helps at all." Carolanne shrugged.
Lane couldn't help but laugh at his next question, "Er, not exactly. He dated my brother, actually," she said pointing to the other guy in the picture, "That's Ash," she said with a sigh. It was a weird feeling explaining to someone that Maxi was gay, or bi, or... whatever he was. Everyone in the school practically knew but she wasn't going to make a big deal about it. Carolanne noticed how Jason's body language had changed, "You alright, Jase?"

"Yeah on one of my mad chocolate craving days" Jase laughed thinking about chocolate made him want some. Running a hand through his hair he smiled at Laney, he could taste the chocolate in his mouth which made it water something awful. "Lets go and get some" he smiled.
Jase took the picture and looked at it. Max towered over Ash and Laney, he really was tall and he did look a lot like Jase which was rather scary. Though, like himself, he was a very good looking guy, though looking at Max just boiled pits in his stomach. "Yeah, it helps. Now I know who im avoiding" He handed the picture back to her and sighed. He really didnt have any reason to be as mad at Max as he was, but he couldnt help it. Somethings you just couldnt help feeling.
"He what?" He asked shocked, turning to look at Laney, "He's gay?" Now that sent Jase's stomach reeling, not only was his brother who he was but he was a gaybender? "That just aint right" He sighed and ran another hand through his hair. The more he found out about his brother the more he disliked him. "Yeah, I'm fine."

Carolanne laughed at Jase's comment, "Serious? Right now? Your willing to skip classes for a chocolate chip cookie..." Laney looked at him in disbelief; then again, she was a Ravenclaw. "You're one interesting character, Jason," she said with a smirk. Well now Laney knew who to find if she ever needed a 'kitchen buddy.'
Carolanne took the photo back and stuck it between the pages of her History of Magic book. "Well, if you're looking to avoid him, then stay near me," she joked, "Him and I aren't exactly seeing eye-to-eye at the moment and I'm pretty sure he's treating me as if I was the plague." Laney pursed her lips and nodded before letting out a sigh. She wasn't the one to question their relationship, she could sense bad vibes as it was and she was determined to leave it be. She only hoped no harm would come to either of them. Boys will be boys.
Carolanne suddenly felt bad for giving Jase that tiniest bit of information. Great, Lane. Look what you've gone and done now... "Well, yeah, he's gay. I think at least. There's a possibility that he's not, well, not completely if it helps," she said only realizing she was probably making the situation worse. "Er... maybe I should've bit my tongue on that one," she mumbled.

((Mind if I jump in?))
Ash wandered through the corridors, mind racing. What was he going to do after graduation next year? Would Fay ever be his friend again? Would Maxi ever talk to him again? And most importantly, were he and Cris making the right choice by choosing to live with each other after graduation? Walking along with his head down, and hands stuffed into his pockets, he walked right into someone. His head snapped up to see who it was...

((Not at all Kris my dear!!<3))
Jase smiled when he made the other girl laugh, laughter was what Jase lived for, though he could be quite violent when it came to certain things, but still. "Seriously, right now! Im craving a chocolate cookie, classes can be revised and everything but a craving becomes annoying if you dont satisfy it" Jase laughed again and shrugged, pulling his jacket a little ways more around him. "Ah, do you have to use my proper name?"
"Well to be honest my brother sounds like a prat." Jase shrugged again, "I've never met the guy but from what I've heard while I've been here. He doesnt sound much like someone I want to admit being in my family." Even though it was techincally me who was the mistake child, not Max. He thought despite himself. "Me and Max, well we may look alike but I doubt there are any similiaritys between the two of us, I guess I'll soon find out though, wont I?"
"No, I would have found out anyway." Jase said, not keeping eye contact and feeling quite discusted. Dont get him wrong, he didnt have a problem with people being gay if they could help it, it was those fashionably gay people that Jase had a problem with. Even so, he would put up with them, the whole gay scene just made him uncomfy. "I'd go for swinging if he's got off with you" Jase stated, so she hadnt said it, but he knew what must have happened.
Smack
For the second time that day Jase was using the wall for support as somone else ran right into him. Sighing as he pushed himself off the wall with his left hand and balanced his weight on his right leg until he was steady, he wasnt going to apologize since he was stood stationary in the first place. Though looking around, the Maxi-lookalike laid eyes on someone with a pair of bright blue eyes from the photo Laney had showed him.
"I take it this is your brother?"
Jase laughed and finally composed himself turning to Ash he gave a small nod and smiled. "Names Jase."

Ash laughed slighty, "Sorry bout that! I really need to watch where I'm going. And no comments from the peanut-gallery Pipsqueak!" he said to Laney, knowing that a sarcastic retort was probably on it's way. He smiled, "Nice to meet you Jase."
