Ten had finally finished getting her stuff sorted in the Ravenclaw Common room and set out to find a certain Gryffindor boy. She wanted to surprise him so she didn't bother asking anyone incase they would tell him someone was looking for him. Tenley wanted to be the one to tell him she tranferred.
Her hair was down today and she was wearing her favorite scarlett dress and gray leggings. It seemed she always wore dresses and leggings these days. Ten didn't care, she loved it and it was comfortable. Besides, she didn't think Jase would care was she was wearing, he never did. That was an advantage of being just a friend you didn't have to always look good for them, but Ten didn't mind it with Jase. Sometimes she dress up a bit when she knew they were gonna hang out.
So there she was, wandering down the corridors. She couldn've swore that she passed a few of the classrooms more than once but she wouldn't dare ask for directions. It wasn't like a random person would know where he was hiding. Besides, this helped her learn about the castle herself. It was much bigger than her last school and had more than one secret passages, or so she was told.
Spotting Jase with a few other Gryffindors, she walked up behind him and covered his eyes with her hands. She wasn't much shorter than him so she didn't have to stand on her tippy toes. She tried her best to disguise her voice, but Ten was horrible at it, "Guess who," she said rather excitedly.

"Oh come on, it wasnt like that!"
Jase tried to argue with a few of the Gryffindors who had heard about the fight between Max and Jase, his face was still tender from it and the bruises were still there, just a little fainter than what they were. People wanted the gossip about the fight and what happened to Fay, which was the part he felt bad about.
"Listen, Fay had hold of me, Maxi swung, I lost balance and fell on Fay making her hit her head, Its not like I wanted her hurt!"
It didnt matter what he said, people were interested in the fact Jase had only been here just over two and a half weeks and already he was causing trouble. It wasnt his fault Max had him riled up. He still did which was the reason the two boys were avoiding eachother. Jase still wanted to see Fay to apologize to her, she shouldnt have been hurt and he felt rotten for her being involved like she was. He knew she was only looking out for Maxi, but she didnt bank on Maxi's more firery side did she?
"Believe what you want from the speculations, I do not like my brother and he does not like me, of course there'll be fights, but thats nothing to do with anyone else so keep your noses out, for gods sake!"
So Jase was becoming stressed now, but they seemed to get that and drop the subject and talk about something else. Which point he had time to calm down and think about his old school, something he hadnt been able to do for a while. Amie, Ten, and Mike. The four of them were closer than anyone he had known. Though he was here now and they were there, he had sent Ten a few letters, both of which had not been answered which had gotten him worried. His eyes suddenly became darkened, but because of the bruising around them and the cut on his face, not to mention his not quite fixed broken nose, it made him wince as it hurt, though he soon forgot that as he heard the voice.
Spinning around his eyes landed on Ten. Why hadnt she told him she was coming here? Wait, why was she here? Was Amie here too? "Ten!" He cried happily, doing something Jase never did, throwing his arms around her and picking her up, followed by spinning her round in a hug like thing. "What are you doing here?"

Tenley had heard their breif arguement about some fight Jase was part of but she wasn't there to eavesdrop, only to surprise Jase, which she had. Ten gave him a wide grin. Of course she had recieved his letters, she just didn't want to write him back because of the simple fact that they'd be meeting sooner than he thought. She didn't want to give her transfer away in the letters.
When he picked her up in his hug, she gave a squeal, her arms already around his neck. She missed him terribly but then again, who wouldn't miss this prat? "Dad got a job offer, begged him to take it, transferred here to save your pathetic little behind," she said pulling away from him. At least he was happy to see her but she knew he'd rather see Amie which only stung a little.
Tenley had always felt like the third wheel with them. Jase had always insisted on inviting her even when she didn't have a date, this annoyed Amie to an extent. Of course, Ten and Jase were only friends, best friends that told eachother nearly everything and hung out every other minute of the day, she had no reason to be jealous.

"Well this has certainly cheered up my week!"
He put her down when she began to pull away from him. He was more than happy to see her, he was exstactic. Though words hurt to speak as his face muscles had to move and his face was still quite painful, the bruising on his eyes were seeable, though fading rather well now. This all paled in comparison to the fact his best friend was here with him, though judging on what she said, he figured Amie and Mike werent here. Which stung, more that Amie wasnt here than Mike, he missed Amie quite a bit.
"My pathetic behind as you call it, does not need to be saved!"
Though of course, some people would beg to differ considering Jase had already been threatened with detention at least five times, gotten himself into a fight and almost gotten his father fired. Well, step dad. Still, Jase tried not to think about this as the other Gryffindors shuffled off, finally realising they were going to get no information out of him. Which in Jase's eyes was a good thing, in America he had been known for fighting and causing trouble, but his mother asked him to play nicely here, play nice with Max. Like that was ever going to happen.
"How's Amie doing?"

Ten gave a smug smile, "Well it's good to know I can still put a smile on your," Ten examined Jase's bruises and gave a face, "Pretty little face. What the hell did you do?" she said bringing a hand to the side of his face. "You look like crap," she said laughing.
So the fight wasn't exactly a secret to her. This school was nortorious for gossip, it was one of the first things she noticed upon arriving. She'd rather hear the actual facts from Jase then go around believing everyone else. She could tell by the look on his face that he'd rather it be Amie showing up randomly but it wasn't. Ten had invited Amie to come with her but Amie's parents wouldn't agree. It sucked.
"You're telling me that you don't need Superwoman Tenley around? That's impossible! I can't leave you alone for more than a few weeks and look at you now," she said fluffing his hair.
So yes, she knew about Maxi being Jase's brother. She was the boy's best friend after all, even his mom loved her. She was often referred as 'the daughter she never had.' Jase's next question was no surprise to Tenley. She was actually wondering when Amie would be brought up. "She's alright. She was upset at first, I think she's doing better now."

"Oh it's nothing," Jase tried to give a smile as she examined his face, though wincing in pain as she touched it. Maxi could definatly throw punches, that was easily seen. Though how could he tell her that he had started a fight in his first week here? She would kill him most likely. Then again, she was used to Jase being in fights by now, not a week went by in America when he wasnt fighting someone. "Much.." He continued. "Just a little scrap on the lawns with me and Maxi. No big. Though its safe to say me and Maxi dont really like eachother, but you knew that anyway so its not news to you is it?"
He was aware he looked like crap and was happy Amie wasnt here to see it. He would be lying if he said he didnt miss her, he loved Amie and every day without her hurt him just that little bit more. Though he was getting used to it now, he'd be alright. It would get better in time, he hoped. Jase wasnt one for long goodbyes, in fact he had told Amie he was leaving the night before he left at the dance. He hated long goodbyes and hated the fact that Amie and Ten were hurt by it. Though it seemed the easiest option. For him.
"I'll always need you around Ten," He smiled, "Its just I dont need superwoman around anymore. Im not getting into many fights like I used to, this was only the first one and it was with my brother. Brotherly fights and all that. Seriously though I'm fine, no need to worry, you know I can handle myself."
Jase listened to Ten tell her Amie was getting better. He was glad she was doing alright and in his heart of hearts he wanted her to move on. Call him selfish, though he wanted her with him now. Now and always. Though that wouldnt happen unless he moved back to America, but could he just turn up after leaving like that? He didnt think he could, it would only hurt her more. "Im happy she's alright. I didnt want to leave her, but my folks gave me no choice in the matter. I wish I could be with her now but I cant so I'm trying to make it work here. Though its not easy im getting there slowly."

"That doesn't look like nothing, Jase," she said with a shake of her head. She wasn't going to push the subject any farther. She listened to Jase without interrupting, a usual Ten thing to do. So it was a fight with Maxi, at least the school gossip had some truth to it. "Yes, I already knew. But, didn't you tell your mom that you'd try to get along with him?" Even though he might've said this, didn't mean it was going to actually happen. Jase never liked Maxi and she never knew why.
"Well, I'm here anyway. Superwoman or not, Ten has arrived," she said with a grin. Sure, she was a little over excited about being here with Jase but it wasn't the same without the other two. Jase was the muscles of the group, Ten was the brains, Amie was the beauty and Mike, well, she wasn't quite sure what Mike's role was but she loved the guy to peices. "Yes, I know quite well how capable you are at taking care of yourself."
So yeah, it hurt alot when Jase left. Not only was Amie crushed, but Ten as well. They were - are best friends. "I think she was just upset that you didn't tell her until the night before. You didn't give her much choice but to let you go. Well, if it helps. I'm here and I can try to make it better for you. I know I'm not Amie, but I'm the next best thing, right?"

"Well its a lot better now than what it was," Jase told her with a sigh and pulled away from her so her hand was no longer on his face as he turned around with his back to her. Jase listened to what she was saying and looked down at the floor. He knew the gossip had reached her ears, who's ears hadnt it reached yet? "Yeah, I told her that." With a sigh, Jase slapped his hands with a sigh, "But what do you expect Ten? He came over acting the big man, did you expect me to offer him tea and bloody cookies?" He shook his head, this wasnt right, her first time seeing Jase and he was all bruised up. Typical Jase, always the muscle behind the group.
"And I'm glad your here" He said with a saddened smile. He was glad she was here, but the group was splitting up. It wasnt the same without Amie or Mike. They all had their little roles in thr group and all formed a tight friendship. Amie and Jase's obviously were considered tightest, even though it was Ten and Jase who were closest. "Through experiance" Jase laughed, "How often have you broke up my fights?"
It hurt them when he left, though it felt like Jase's heart was torn from his chest when he had to go. Slowly he was picking the pieces back up but it wasnt easy. Amie and Mike were on the other side of the world and Jase didnt know if he would ever see them again. This didnt do well for Jase's mood obviously. In fact it had been the reason he had been testy lately. "How could I tell her?" Jase asked, "Everytime I went to, it never seemed the right time." Jase shook his head, "She wouldnt have had a choice anyway, hell I didnt have a choice did I? If I did, I'd still be in America, and so would you, with Amie and Mike!" Jase turned around and hit the wall behind him, his fuse was easily lit these days and this angered him. Having to give up a place he was happy in to start again with an arrogant brother. "You're not second best Ten... I'd have you all here if I could. Though I'm glad its you"

"I suppose it would've been worse." Jase turned his back to her as she let her hand fall back to her side. Did he really not want her to see him like this or was it something else. Ten had seen Jase in worse conditions, sure it broke her heart everytime he got into a fight, but she was there for him no matter what the situation came to. She was something like his support system or his rock; something he could always depend on. "No! I don't expect you to offer the arse cookies but at least be the bigger man and hold your tongue!" Ok, so her temper was rising with him already. Go figure.
"Well you have an odd way of showing it," she said rasing her left eyebrow. Jase wasn't exactly the one to show emotions well. Sure, he had given her a hug when he first realized she was there, but his sudden change of mood told her he'd rather it not be her at Hogwarts. Well, would he rather no one be here? Now she was questioning her transfer. "I don't know, more than I can count." Ten let her smile fade to reflect her disappointment.
Like Amie, Ten didn't find out until it was too late. She barely got to say good bye and now she was almost happy she didn't. Maybe she should've stayed back in America. "Well what about me? Why didn't you tell me sooner? Maybe I wouldn't be here then to remind you of Amie and Mike and everyone else. Would you rather that be the case?" Ten bit her lip as he punched the wall, "What the hell was that for!" she yelled at him. Second best, it's what she felt like all the time, but she wouldn't tell him this. "Well, I glad I'm here too," Ten looked away, "I guess."

So Jase was here, and so was Ten. Like old times. Only it wasnt like old times. Things were different now, this place was different and their little group had been torn and Jase was on the edge already. Things werent going well, he had two black eyes but even he could see that things were'nt going as well as his mother had hoped. It was just a matter of time he was sure, before they had to up and leave again. Looking back at Ten when she half yelled, he hadnt told her the reason they had to leave was because of Jase. He hadnt been completley honest. "You dont know him. I couldnt hold my tongue while he was saying the things he was saying Tenley!"
"So I dont show I'm happy!" Jase spun around and looked at her. She of all people should know Jase never showed his emotions, the only time he did was when he was angry and fighting, or when he was saying bye to them in America. He actually cried, the first time that sort of emotion came out. He never realised his bond with them was so strong until that night. Though now he knew it was, though it was only a matter of time before it broke. "Thats just who I am," Meaning, Jase was a fighter, a trouble causer. It was in his nature, in his genes so to speak. He couldnt hold his anger like Ten could. Most of the fights had been protecting Ten come to think on it.
"Dont try and turn this around!" Jase held onto his knuckles, he had nearly forgotten stone walls werent the best things to hit in frustration. "How could I say to any of you, yeah Im leaving in a few weeks, dont miss me too much will ya!" Jase shook his head. It was easier not telling them. They didnt have a choice but to let him go anyway so what would it achieve? He preferred the last few weeks for them to be happy and not mope around knowing he was leaving. "I would rather not be here, I would rather be in America but I couldnt be so dont start giving me cases or scenarios which dont matter because it wouldnt have affected the outcome!" Jase looked at her through the same glaring eyes as she looked at him through. They were best friends so obviously they had their fights, but even Jase must admit this was a record. "Because it was better than doing something like hit someone else" He said simply.Jase. When frustrated, hit something or someone.
"No, I am glad your here." He smiled, nobody could keep Jase in check like Ten could. Not always work mind you, but sometimes it did.

Typical Jase. Overreacts over a simple phrase which to some would just be seen as sarcastic fun. The only one that could be sarcastic with Jase without being on the end of a punch was herself and of course Amie but that was a different case. "No. You're right! I don't know him, but either do you! I bet you haven't even given it a shot to talk to him like a normal human being instead of communicating with violence. So you couldn't hold your tongue, what about walking away?" So she was over doing it, but she was making a point in her mind. Maxi just better be lucky enough to stay out of her way otherwise he was gonna get the hex of a lifetime. Jase was lucky he wasn't cursed already.
Ten rolled her eyes, "Well you could at least face me when you tell me how oh so happy you are to see me," she said raising her arms in mockery. Yes, she knew how Jase was with emotion. He wasn't very good at showing any kind of emotion. It was hard to tell if he was really happy or just kidding around half of the time. "Of course. That's just who you are," she said crossing her arms across her chest, "Just like I'm the one that bails you out half the time."
"How am I turning it around? Don't I mean just as much to you as Amie or no?" Ten shook her head as she glared at him, "Well any sort of warning is better than none," she spoke through gritted teeth. It was their first time seeing each other in weeks and already they were fighting. This thought made Tenley want to laugh, but she was too mad to even let a smile crease her lips. "Fine, have it your way." Tenley turned away from Jase for only a moment to regain her calm exterior. Of course, she was still fuming on the inside, but she was much better at handling it than Jase was.
Turning back to him she gave a sarcastic laugh, "Have you ever tried to not hit something?" If Jase's face wasn't so bruised, now would be the time she'd flick his nose or something of that sort. Finally a smile found its way across Jase's face which instantly caused her to smile. He had that effect on her and she hated it sometimes. "Yeah, I got that." If it was a normal day back in America, she probably would've given him a hug, much to his dismay but it wasn't a normal day nor were they in the States. They were in the middle of friggin nowhere and Tenley didn't even know how to explain this to herself.
