Olivia brushed past several students in the hallway, muttering soft apologies as she did so. It was later in the day, but still several hours before Dinner would be served. The corridors weren't crowded like usual, probably because the weather was actually nice today. The sun was shining down on the school, causing many students to spend most of their day outside.
Liv was usually one of those students, because she truly loved to spend her days outside. But, today her day was a little drearier than most. A letter from her parents came this morning, and her mother spoke all through the letter about how big William was getting. He was almost three now. Even at that age, little Willy still hadn't managed to get Olivia's name right. So, he called her Izzy instead. Liv assumed it was his attempt at saying Sissy, but she wasn't sure.
With her family doing so well, Olivia couldn't help but miss them. She missed William's smiling face, and his little boy's laugh. Something she missed almost the same as her family was her piano. Her fingers itched to play a tune, to glide elegantly across the ivory keys. She felt somewhat empty at the moment, without her piano to brighten her mood.
Olivia rounded another corner, and stopped before a door she had never seen before. Curious, she stepped forward and turned the handle, before peeking into the room. What she saw brought a smile to her face. Sitting in the middle of the room was a piano, much like her own, and off to the side were several chairs. Forgetting her manners, Liv raced over to the piano and plopped herself down on the bench.
The Puff traced her fingers over the keys, then played several notes. Ah, it was perfectly tuned. Olivia started to play a few simple tunes to get her feel for this piano. Each was different, with its own different personality. Finally comfortable with it, Liv decided to play her mother's favorite song. It reminded her of home, which was rewarded with a small smile.
(( If you were wondering, this is the song she's playing {I totally love this song (: } Angel Eyes ))

Seems like emotions were contagious. Olivia wasn't the only girl walking around, feeling a little lonely and missing her family. Her mother especially; she worked so hard for the family.. Everyone frowned upon her having such a close relationship with her muggle parents, yet still Katya couldn't understand why. So what if she wasn't pure of blood? Didn't the fact that she was pure of heart matter at all? Apparently not, to the Slytherins anyway. They were vicious, malicious and the like, but even she could see they were haunted by prejudice. The wrongdoings of others against them played a major role in the way they treated people now. She pitied them, she really did.
Katya was walking down the corridor, enveloped within the silence of her life, footsteps hushed, when she saw a great wooden door. Strange.. She hadn't seen this entrance before. Her fingertips inched towards the woodwork, barely hovering above the surface, touching yet not touching it. So many secrets surrounding it.
Opening it slowly, the sound that hit her wasn't quiet at all, but a beautiful, lulling melody. It reminded Katya of angels. Inside now, more silent than a mouse, she gently shut the door, not wanting to disrupt the girl. Hopefully she wasn't intruding; she'd happily leave her. Standing there, a small smile on her face, Katya waited, listening. Beautiful.

Olivia shut her eyes and just let her fingers move over the keys. She didn't need to look to see what notes to hit, she had memorized the song already. Plus, it wasn't that difficult to figure out the keys on the piano, she should at least know them after playing the instrument for so long.
The last note hung in the air, until Liv lifted up her fingers. She let her hands glide across the keys for a moment, not pressing them down hard enough to make a noise. There was a small rustling sound near her, and Olivia's eyes snapped open. She turned to the source of the noise and found a girl standing there, smiling at her.
Instantly, her cheeks flushed red and her eyes drifted down to her hands on her lap. "Oh..um..I didn't know anyone was watching. I'm sorry to have disturbed you." She brushed some of her hair out of her eyes, but didn't move from her spot. Something in the back of her mind told her to get up and introduce herself, but another part was too afraid that the piano would vanish as soon as she stood.

She seems flustered. Katya thought to herself, tilting her head to the side and wondering why on earth this girl should be embarrassed. She wasn't the one disturbing people around here! Shaking her head, the Claw gave her one of those 'silly girl' smiles, figuring she'd come to her instead. So she moved closer. Placing her hand against her chest, she made sure the Hufflepuff could see her face before parting her lips and mouthing the word, ' Katya. ' Her name, which everyone would mistake for Kitty. Though now, with her 'nickname' of sorts coming out of more mouths than just her own, it sounded pleasant. She'd grown used to it, thinking Kitty was a fine alias.
Kneeling now, Katya pointed to her, a questioning look in her ice-blue eyes. As in, whats your name? Once offered a responce, her gaze would flicker over to the keys of the piano, then back again. ' You play beautifully. '

Olivia glanced back up and blinked as the girl moved closer to her. Katya. Her lips moved, yet no sound came from them. Somehow, she felt a small connection with the girl. Katya had words locked up inside, unable to voice them. Yet, Olivia could very easily say whatever she wanted, yet her thoughts always remained her own.
The girl was pointing to her now, a questioning look in her eyes. "My name's Olivia. Pleased to meet you Katya." Katya. A beautiful name, for a very beautiful girl. The girl's lips moved again, and Liv glanced back over to the piano. A small smile tugged at her lips before she looked back at Katya.
"Thank you. Do you play as well?"

"Pleased to meet you Katya." Her eyes widened in surprise, clearly shocked that the girl pronounced it right, instead of her nickname, Kitty. It was kind of refreshing, actually, not like she didn't mind being called Kitty. And the other girl's name was.. Olivia? I like that name. At the question, the Ravenclaw shook her head, ' No. I do not play anything. ' She liked to sing, quiet and unheard as it was. If she ever got her voice back - a vain possibility, according to her uncle - she would sing to the world. They would all know what she sounded like.
' What is the song called? ' Katya wondered, eyes flickering back on the piano again, remembering the beautiful notes that had previously poured from Olivia's fingers.

Had she said something wrong? Katya was staring at her with wide eyes, and Liv just blinked back, confused. She was actually surprised when Katya mentioned that she didn't play anything. But, then again, Olivia was used to her mother telling her that a lady always has a talent. A musical talent.
"I haven't named it yet. I made it for my mother actually." She stared at the piano as she spoke, a small smile on her lips. "When I play, it helps little William to sleep." Liv scooted over on the bench and patted the spot beside her. The position that Katya was in would probably become uncomfortable after a few moments.
"Why don't you make up your own little tune. It doesn't take much with a piano."

Smiling, Katya nodded, sitting down beside Olivia as her fingers hesitantly hovered over the keys. ' I haven't played in a while.. ' She began warily, unsure if she should even try. ' I did back at home, but its been so long. I only knew one song. ' Sighing, defeated, she figured she might as well play it. What could go wrong, except her humiliating herself, right? Right. Pressing her fingers down softly, she began a soft, lulling song, the song pouring out from her just like it did at home. Her mother would play this song, while she used to sing along to it. When she lost her voice, her mother taught it to her so she could remember it when she went off to school. Unfortunately, she couldn't play anything else, so she never considered herself a pianist..
The melody was gentle and lovely, stronger and quicker yet still beautiful, and transporting her instantly back a few years to when she was still a girl, sitting next to her mother. The memory brought tears to her eyes, as she promptly finished the song, wiping at them. ' I am sorry.. ' She seemed to laugh.

"Don't worry, I'm sure you play beautifully."
Olivia smiled reassuringly, then turned her eyes to Katya's hands. They flowed nimbly across the keys, matching the sound the piano made. The song was utterly beautiful, and she shut her eyes again, just letting herself listen to the song. She stayed that like for a bit, until the song started to end. Slowly, she reopened her eyes and looked back over to Katya.
Tears were fresh in her eyes, the song must've reminded the Claw of something sad. Liv shook her head slightly at the girl apologized. "Don't be sorry. The song was beautiful, and it's not your fault it brought back some memories." She looked back down at the piano and brushed her fingers across the keys. "You can tell me if you like, but only if it helps." Olivia looked back up at Kat, a small smile on her lips.

Shaking another lone tear from her face, Kitty seemed to sigh while smiling and wiping at her cheek. ' Memories. ' Was all she replied with at first, then, ' And disabilities. Thats all. ' It summed up a few things. One, she couldn't speak, and two, the piano reminded her of home, so the pair was probably linked somehow. At least, that was what Katya thought Olivia would get out of it. No need to go spilling your guts to someone just yet, she didn't want to scare anyone off. She needed more people than the bedroom wall to talk to about her problems. Well, that, and Ashley, her teddy bear. But no one knew about her.
' What is this room? ' She wondered, unable to recall its name, and why it suddenly popped up out of no where. She'd never seen it before until now.
