February, and already Katya had drifted away.. She hadn't seen any of her few friends, knowing not if they were looking for her or if they had simply dismissed her lack of appearance as insignificant. Maybe they had forgotten her. Though this wouldn't be the first time, it still hurt, which only urged her to distance herself more and more. It was an endless, vicious cycle, really, and there wasn't much she could do to remove herself of it. Nothing she had thought about, anyhow.
Being it was spring, was there any snow left? Assuming it was a nicer day than the last, Katya, sporting nothing familiar except for her favorite jean jacket, abandoned the castle and took to the grounds, approaching the lake after a while of walking and sitting on a boulder warmed by the sun. Sighing silently, she stared out across the water, clasping her fingers together on her lap and hunching over a bit. She needed some mental spring cleaning, big time. Or perhaps instead, what she wanted.. Her friends. It was her fault, being away from them for so long. She was starting to feel like her social butterfly side had faded away with her voice, and the thought scared her. This wasn't her. Who she was before scolded her for who she was becoming now.
Closing her eyes and massaging her temples, the 'Claw resisted the urge to stand and trudge back to the common room to sulk. She needed the air, she was staying put.

"Leave me alone!" a Japanese accented voice could be heard pleading with someone, cruel laughter was the only response. A taunting voice replied, "Aww...is the poor little birdie scared?" Aki looked up at the Slytherin tormenting him, "Please, just leave me alone!" he begged. The Snake merely laughed, and shoved him hard. Aki fell to the ground with a cry, why did they do this to him?

The sound of his cry startled her from her thoughts, and Katya frowned at the familiarity of the voice. That sounded like.. Akinaka, in distress. Standing, the 'Claw moved towards the sounds of struggle, peering around a thick tree to find a group of snakes tormenting her friend. Apparently she wasn't the damsel in distress as of late; saving Ashton, and now Aki? Mad, mad world. Her thoughts were among similar wavelengths as she stepped out from her cover, moving fluidly and silent as a ghost as she quickly placed herself between him and the cluster. The hard look in her eyes told them something around the lines of, 'Leave him the hell alone or I'll skin you alive.' and though she could look positively terrifying once angered to this point, she was sure they wouldn't listen.
She didn't even need her magic to beat them, assuming they didn't cooperate. And Katya wasn't a violent person so to speak, she was just quite the fighting machine when it came to bullying. Some of her techniques included martial arts that she had learned all those years of being alone, with no friends to occupy herself with. So what better than to take up a hobby? Then again, the snakes didn't know that. It was their move, what would they do now?

The Slytherin, Jeffrey was his name, merely laughed. "Aw, it's another little birdie! Even better, it's the freak!" a cruel sneer came across his face.
Aki glared, he may not have had the guts to stand up for himself, but his friends were a different story! He leapt to his feet, eyes flashing in anger. "Don't you dare call her a freak! The only freak around here is you!"

"Aw, it's another little birdie! Even better, it's the freak!" This brash, foolish accusation didn't phase her one bit - she was used to it all too well. What surprised her was Aki's sudden uproar of courage to stand up to them on her behalf, that was very chivalrous of him to do so. Placing a gentle hand on his shoulder, urging him to glance at her, the Claw shook her head with a calm, even pleasant, look on her face. Its alright. Her expression seemed to say, as she turned back to the snakes with a smirk. It would take more than that to spur her anger, she was only getting started. She may be mute, but that didn't mean she couldn't dish out the insults. True though was the fact that she almost never used them, unless taunted or stressed to tears. Then she exploded, and that wasn't good.
'Just go, alright? You've had your fun.. Just go.' Katya mouthed to them, crossing her arms over her chest and frowning slightly. The Slytherins merely laughed in responce, and Jeff-whatever-his-name-was stepped forward, swinging his arm back before striking his palm against her face. The blow whipped her head to the side, leaving a strange, stinging sensation to ripple throughout her cheek. Stunned into silence - even more than she usually was - Katya shakily brought a hand up to feel the numbness, ice blue eyes wide with surprise.
