Shafer wandered through the grounds of the castle, looking around at the other students. It was really an okay day, and the sky looked like it might rain later on. But for now, it was fine to be outside. He had decided to go to the lake, considering it wasn't populated with many students.
Wandering over to a tree that was by the lake, he leaned against it, looking at the water. The dark waters rolled in and out of the shore, not revealing the mysteries below. What was it about the lake that it seemed to call people to it? To stare at it and think about what lay below? If the waters weren't enough of a mystery, then those questions were. Standing there -or rather leaning against the tree- Shay seemed to begin spacing out, not really knowing his surroundings. A bludger could've hit him in the head, and it would take him a minute to notice. It was a pretty boring day, and the only thing that seemed to be amusing Shafer was the fact he was standing there, looking like an idiot.
[Ignore the crappy title. I couldn't think D:]

[green]Bane wandered around the lake's edge, watching her reflection moving as she did. She bent down and poked a finger to the surface, watching it ripple. "Oooh." She was an easily amused one, doncha think? All of the sudden she fell back, on purpose of course. Enjoying the pillow like feeling of the grass. She put a hand up to block the sun's harsh rays as she looked at the clouds drifting by. One cloud looked like an Owl, another a Unicorn. She didn't really like Unicorns. Now Thestrals, that was her kind of beast. Due to witnessing the death of her mother she could see them. Such a morbid thought. Her lips curved into a smirk and the light glinted off the studs in her lip.[/green]

Shay's little space-out session was interrupted by the fact something had caught his eye. When looking for what he'd seen in the corner of his eye, he saw it was a girl. A Slytherin girl to be exact. He'd probably seen her around the common room once or twice. Figuring he'd rather go talk to someone, instead of standing around looking like an idiot, he wandered over to her, and smiled. "Enjoying yourself?" He asked, smirking slightly.

[green]Bane lifted her glance upon hearing another voice, squinting her vivid blue eyes. "No I'm smiling cause I'm horribly upset." She rolled her eyes before closing them and stretching her body out in the grass, yawning. Her yawn was like a squeal almost like the sound a baby puppy makes odd, I know. (I yawn like that. XD) She opened her eyes and looked toward him again, "Still there?" She reluctantly sat up slowly. "The name is Bane."[/green]

Chuckling lightly, Shay watched as she hoped he would leave. But, to her dismay, he stayed. "I've got nothing better to do." He shrugged, smirking again. Sitting down a couple feet away, he grinned. "Name's Shay." He paused for a moment, debating if he should say his 'birth name', but he preferred not being made for of for his lousy name. "So.. I'm guessing you come out here when you're upset, and need to smile to make it look like you're happy?" Shafer asked sarcastically.

[green]Bane watched him, tapping her chin gently with one finger. "Shay." She watched the hesitatiance she could see in his body language. "Why don't you tell me your full name?" She could tell, it was the same way she was when she was reluctant to tell her own name. She ran her hands through the grass tightening her grip on it and leaning back to balance on her palms. "So what brings you out to the lake?" She arched an eyebrow awaiting his response.[/green]

Raising a brow, he simply shrugged. "Okay.. Shay Bourke." He said coolly, though he knew that wasn't the answer she was looking for, and he would probably be interrogated more. Leaning back as she did, he stared out at the lake for a moment, trying to think of a possible answer to why he did come here. "I dunno. To think?" Shay replied, shrugging his shoulders. If he'd told Bray that, he would've been laughed at, and Shafer knew it. "And what brings you to the lake?" He returned the question, looking at her.
