Phytos had woken up earlier than usual today. A sign that something terrible was afoot. Phytos didn’t like these days as it usually meant a human getting into danger in the forest, although many times it was just a run in with his own kind. He was only a small faun, he wouldn’t be able to put up much of a fight for them, but he swayed more towards humans instead of his own kind. He had been an outcast and exiled from the clan. He had always felt more human than faun, and his horde didn’t seem to take too kindly to that either. He thought of himself as ‘a human with some genetic modifications’.
Shaking his head, he uncurled himself and pulled himself off the bed of leaves. Looking around at the human objects he had collected over the years, he gave a toothy smile at what he had managed to find in the forest. He had found a soft fluffy red scarf the first time he ever found something in the forest, and he wore it all the time since. He had tried shouting after the honey haired girl who had dropped it, but he had scared her away, which was typical.
Walking out of his home, he stretched, breathing in the fresh morning air. His home was in the middle of the forest, and he always liked to go to the outskirts and if he was lucky, meet and talk to a student from Hogwarts. How he wished he was human, and to be able to live a normal life. Being half human, half goat wasn’t the best thing in the world, and neither was being an outcast.
Today was a designated day for him to collect food. Grabbing his small wicker basket , he walked out into the small opening infront of his house and scouted around. Happy that it was safe, he began to walk through the trees to the opening of the forest near Hogwarts, holding the basket infront of his chest with both hands on it’s handle. There was a berry bush there and it was delicious at this time of year. Reaching the bush, he could see a few students on the hill away from the forest. Hiding behind the bush, he scooted down and began to pick the berries. He had been told off before by a few professors patrolling the area who was not happy that Phytos was so bold in coming out the forest.

Sarie was tired of the common room so she left and wanted to get on to the grounds for a bit. She took longer to get out beause she had to took a wrong turn and ended near the the charm class room instead of the marble stair case.
She finally made it to the large oak front door and walked around the edge of the grounds. She sighed. No she couldn't. She promised herself not to go back into forest. She sighed again. Her life was way to dull.
