Ash nodded. "Yeah, but try telling that to my dad!" He sighed. "We never did get along. Once he found out about my 'condition' as he put it. The beatings just got worse." Suddenly he froze, I did not just say that!. "Crap! Forget you ever heard that!"

Ash smiled softly. "Yeah. Thanks." He leaned back on the grass, folding his arms under his head, enjoying the warmth of the sun on his pale skin. "So, if you don't mind me asking, how long have you been a vampire?"

Ash looked at Ryan with surprise. "Wow. Rikki's only been a vampire for like two years I think." He sat up and glanced out across the lake, "So, you have any siblings?"

Ash nodded slightly. "I have a sister. Well, step-sister actually. But we're really close. Heck, we might as well be twins! Her name is Carolanne. Or Laney as everyone calls her."

It was a semi-nice day out and since she had the hour off, Laney decided to take a small break outside. She was wearing a navy blue sundress with a silver sash; something she had Miss Queens make for her so she could represent her house without wearing the heavy robes.
She could here the light crunch of the autumn leaves beneath her sandals as she made her way through the lawns. Her eyes caught the head of a certain Ashton Mc - er...Laurent. She was still trying to get used to his sudden decision to drop their father's last name and take on his mothers. Now she was stuck with it; the funny thing, Daniel wasn't even her real father.
Walking up to Ash, she smiled, "Well, speak of the devil and she appears," she said holding up her hands, striking a pose. She had just heard him mention her as she approached.

Ash turned at the sound of a familiar voice. Seeing his sister, his face lit up. "Laney!" he cried happily jumping up, and tackling her to the ground in a bone-crushing hug. "Where have you been!?"

He noticed his fangs getting dry,'oh god no dont think about it'he thought to himself."Cool step-sister, i really cant tell the difference".Ryan turned and saw Ash hugging his sister,'human stuff creepy' he thought then looked away.

It was as if she hadn't even said anything. The moment her lips finished moving, she was on the ground. Her body in shock, "Oh my god, Ash! I'm wearing a dress!" she yelled as she attempted to pull the bottom of her dress down over her thighs. "Where have I been? Well, you know. Around," she answered. What was she supposed to say?
Carolanne caught a glimpse of the new guys fangs and smiled, "You know what can help that? Warm milk. I'm serious. It's as thick as blood and if heated correctly, can do wonders. Just put it in your mouth, swish it and spit it out," she said as she pulled herself to a sitting position. "Oh yeah, Ash and I look so much alike. I'm like bleach blond, he's a brunette. I have gray eyes, he has like... pacific blue eyes."
