Quilla strolled into the courtyard, her Gryffindor scarf whipping around her in the strong wind. No one was around, as far as she could tell. The girl spotted the fountain that she loved dearly and sat on its edge. She traced the ripples in the water with her fingers, enjoying the cold feeling that washed over her.
Several leaves danced across the stone, spinning in the wind. It reminded of her mother spinning her around when she was little. Oh, how Quill missed her mother. Mr. Royce had always been a great father, but that still didn't fill up the hole in the girl's heart.
Quilla saw a flicker out of the corner of her eye. Probably leaves, but maybe it was a person.

Brooke pulled her robes tighter around her as she made her way toward the quiet Courtyard. It was a decently warm day, but Brooke was always cold. Her long Slytherin scarf was draped down her back, as she always found it too annoying to be in front and would pumble anyone who told her otherwise. Glancing up, she saw that the usually empty Courtyard had someone in it today. "Hello, quite a nice spot to sit and think, isn't it?"
Something must be wrong with Broo, she a slytherin was being nice to a gryffindor? Well, Brooke wasn't one of the nastier Slytherins, she was quiet and kind unless provoked or underestimated. Silent but deadly? That would work for her persona. She sat down on the ledge of the fountain, smiling warmly. "Name's Brooke. My memory must be fuzzy, since I don't seem to remember you." The girl looked about her age, and Broo figured she was either a 5th year or a 6th year, but she wouldn't go as far to say 7th.

Quilla looked up at the girl and smiled. "Yes, one of my favorite spots in the entire castle. It's nice to hear the water trickle away. It's almost like it is washing your painful memories away with it, leaving the good ones to stay." She shook her head and laughed. "Sorry, my opinions sometimes get carried away. My name's Quilla Royce, Gryffindor, 6th year. Nice to meet you, Brooke."
Normally, it was quite odd to find a Slytherin and a Gryffindor on pleasant speaking terms, as they were sworn enemies. Quilla was unaffected by this superstition and tended to ignore it, often getting insults and nasty looks as her reward for being nice. "Kill them with kindness" her father often said. Quill liked the saying, and it worked sometimes.

Brooke nodded at Quilla, she had a nice name and Broo liked the little ring to it. "Yes, this one's the best. The other fountains just fail in comparison." She smiled, there was just a hint of sarcasm in her voice, though she wasn't trying to mock the Gryffindor intentionally. It was a natural reaction to someone who felt passionately about a place at school.
But Brooke was happy to note that Quills didn't shy away just because of the house rivalry behind them. That was probably her biggeset pet peeve, that everyone judged based on houses and Slytherins got a bad rep. Not all slytherins were evil, most just enjoyed a prank a bit too much. "Nice to meet you." She said, remembering her manners after she spaced out.

Eva brushed some hair out of her eyes as she walked out of the building. Her hair was blown from her face by a gust of wind that hit her as soon as she left the warmth of Hogwarts. Shuddering slightly, Eva made her way over to the fountain, where she usually spent her time. But, her hurried steps slowed as she noticed more people about. Curious, she walked toward the group.
Eva had just caught the names of the two as she neared. Quilla and Brooke. Interesting names. She liked that.
"Um. Hello." She finally spoke up, even though her voice was still soft. Eva never really liked to talk loudly, she found it unnecessary sometimes. "I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but to overhear your conversation. I'm Eva. Nice to meet both of you." The Hufflepuff gave them a small grin before sitting on one of the benches by the fountain.

Aly wandered through the courtyard, millions of thoughts running through her mind. Looking up she saw a group of girls standing near a fountain. A Gryffindor, a Hufflepuff, and a fellow Slytherin. "Hi." she said walking over to them. "Do I know you? I probably don't. So why am I asking?" she gave a small laugh. "I'm Alyson. Alyson Gravestone. Everybody calls me Aly though."

Quilla detected the sarcasm in Brooke's voice and gave a small laugh. "Ah, but this one is very special to me. You see, my mother spent a lot of time here as well when she attended Hogwarts. I like to imagine her sitting right where I am...oh, I miss her terribly." Quill gave a small sigh. Sorrow flickered into her eyes, but was soon replaced by warmth as another student approached.
"Hello Eva. Name's Quilla Royce" She gave the girl a warm smile. The girl looked around their age, obviously a Hufflepuff. Quill had met many nice people from that house...shame they never talked to her anymore. "Why, thank you Brooke. You know, I hardly ever hear 'Nice to meet you' directed toward me." Quilla laughed a little at herself and held her hand out to shake Eva's.
Yet another student walked up to their little group. Quill smiled again. "Pleasure, Aly. I'm Quilla Royce"

Eva adjusted her books on her lap, but otherwise remained silent. She had come here just to relax before, not really to socialize. Her gaze drifted to the fountain. She watched the ripples for on the water as tiny droplets of water hit the surface. A small grin formed on her lips as she watched. She looked up slightly as Quill held out her hand. Eva took it and smiled, giving her hand a small shake, then releasing her and palcing her hands back on her lap.
A droplet of water landed on her nose, and she blinked. Eva looked up to see more droplets falling from the sky. Seems like it was going to rain. Eva grabbed her books and placed them under the bench, so they wouldn't get wet. She stood and walked further in the courtyard, so she was in the middle of it. Eva looked back up at the sky and grinned as the rain started to come, washing over her delicate face. "I love the rain."

Brooke smiled, she figured only something sentimental like parents could draw someone so much to a fountain. She understood, of course, having her own treasures that linked her to her brother but others didn’t understand. Glancing up from the mystifying fountain, she noticed two more girls had joined them; each being upperclassmen as well. “Hello Eva, and Aly. I’m Brooke, if you haven’t already figured that out.” She smiled, especially at the older Slytherin that she may have seen in the common rooms a few times, but she usually spent that time in her dorm with a book to avoid the rude young Slytherins.
Broo blinked a few times after feeling a rough tap on the head, and she realized their their pleasant little drizzle was starting to rain harder. “Tch.” She said, and moved to a bench next to Eva. She didn’t want to be by the fountain when the winds picked up. Being drenched was not in her daily itinerary. “I prefer rain under my umbrella (ella, ella, eh, eh, eh)”

Quilla smiled at Eva. "I see I'm not alone then." She looked up at the sky as well. The rain continued, traveling to Earth faster and faster. Remembering her books, Quill shoved them under the bench as well.
The girl stood up and moved to a more open spot. When she reached there, Quilla began to twirl around, laughing and keeping her face to the sky. Oh, how she loved dancing in the rain. Quill began to waltz around the courtyard, not caring what the others thought of this strange sight. Shrieking as the rain continued to pound on them, Quill ran to the bench, grabbed her books and sought refuge under the roof. The girl sat on a ledge, panting and brushing hair out of her face. "That was interesting."

Eva grinned and out her hand. "I think it's a miracle. Water provides life." Her voice was so soft, people probably thought she was speaking to herself. Eva didn't mind though. If they couldn't hear her, then that wasn't her fault.
She grabbed her books and moved over by Quilla, out of the rain and under the cover of the roof. The gentle patter of the rain was like music to her ears. A small grin tugged at the corner's of her lips as she looked out to the grounds. Many people didn't understand Eva's way of looking at the world. But, as she thought, they were just ignorant to the world's beauty.
Eva sighed softly and sat down. Her books rested on her lap and her legs rested slightly to the side of her. She leaned on one hand and shifted her weight slightly. "Hope the rain doesn't last too long. I was hoping to go for a walk tonight."

Brooke sighed as the wind picked up, and she too took refuge under the school's roof. She looked up at the sky and saw that the clouds were still light. "It's not storming, so it shouldn't last too long." She said, staring at the sheets of falling rain.
"but it sure is pouring." She smiled, glad she left her books in the common room so they wouldn't get soaked. Brooke didn't have to go to class for a while, why would she carry around the heavy things? [ blehh I don't feel like posting guys xD ]
