Russell chuckled as he rubbed the back of his neck. Jen was definitely an interesting piece of work, he had to admit that. "I suppose we will. I'll show you who's boss in this shop," he said pulling a pose and acting completely immature. Oh come on, he's a guy. "Me a Tease? There's a mirror in the bathroom if you want a good look at the real tease."
"Jen, you have yet to learn the true art of people painting," he said taking her hand in his. "The paint's this way," he said slightly pulling her. Russell led her down the stairs that led to the bottom half of the building, his shop. He opened a closet just under the stairs and grabbed a few buckets of paint and some paint brushes. "There you go," he said handing her a brush.
"I want that wall," he said pointing to the smallest wall in his shop. Less to paint meant more time to watch Jen. "You can have the rest of the shop. See, I can share," he said with a laugh.

"Me? A tease? Well I never Mister Haynes, I would never dream of being, what you call, a tease!" she grinned, obviously amused by his statement. Taking her hand and pretty much dragging her down the stairs, she followed him behind quickly, and took a sneaky look at his bum, before letting out a small giggle.
When he pointed to the smallest wall in the shop, and took dibs on it, Jennifer couldn't help but grin and shake her head, covering her face with her hands.
"Your unbelievable Russ, you know that?" she laughed, pushing him gently on his manly, and rather muscular chest. Picking up a pot of paint, she opened it and pulled out a ladder so she could begin.
Climbing up the ladder in her short denim jeans and her tight white vest top, both complete with paint splatters from previous decorating missions, she dipped the brush in the pot and began to paint.
"So, If you don't mind me asking, what was the injury that stopped you playing Quidditch?" she asked, not turning around to look at him.

"Just because you don't dream of being a tease, doesn't mean you don't fit the description," he answered with a chuckle. Russ heard Jen giggle from behind him. Turning his head over his shoulder he smiled at her, "You're not by chance checking me out, are ya?" he asked with a cheeky smile.
"That I believe," he said with a nod before taking his paint and going to the smallest wall of the shop. Pulling out his wand, he cast a simple charm on the paint brush to do the dirty work for him, hoping Jen didn't catch him in the act. He didn't like using magic, but this was an opportunity to tease Jen.
As he made sure the paintbrush did as it was supposed to, Jen had asked him a question, "Oh, fell off my broom, fractured my spine in six different places, broke 3 ribs, my arm, my femur. The whole shebang pretty much." When he finished speaking, the wall had been painted and he made his way to Jen. Staring up at the wall she had just started painting, he pointed to a corner, "You missed a spot," he said cheekily.

"I was not checking you out" Jennifer pouted. It was an obvious lie, she couldn't lie to save her life. She could be read so easily.
Listening to him reel off a list of injuries, she turned around to look at him with a sympathetic face. Quickly turning back to carry on painting before she lost her balance, she began painting once again.
"So how long were you in the hospital? How did the accident happen exactly?" she asked before she heard him right behind her.
"You missed a spot".
She turned a little to see him pointing over the other side of the wall, where she hadn't even begun. Pulling a 'i'm not impressed' face she balanced herself on the ladder and flicked the paint off the paintbrush at him.
"Did I miss now?" she said with a cheeky grin. Uh oh, she was surely in for it now!

"Sure you were," he answered with a laugh. Jen was beautiful and definitely deserved better than himself yet he found it funny that she had been checking him out. "Haven't met a girl yet that hasn't checked me out." Ok, dumb comment and he was kicking himself for it.
Russell gave a long sigh and ran a hand though this hair, "Uh, lets see. 2 years all together in the actual hospital and a year on strict bed rest at home. Not the funnest thing to do. How did it happen?" Russ squinted as if it would help him picture it, "Well, it was during a game, near the end I think and a bludger came from behind, knocked me off my broom and I fell a near suicidal height. I'm alive though, its all that matters now."
Jen flicked her paintbrush at him covering his face in paint splatter. Wiping his hand down his face, only further spreading the paint, he chuckled, "Bad move there, Beautiful." Quickly, Russ pulled her off the ladder and gently took her down to the ground. Wrestling her brush out of her hand, he took it and painted a line across her forehead. He smiled down at her, "The bucket's too far away."

Jennifer laughed at his ignorant remark of him never meeting a woman who didn't check him out. Ignorant he was, but truthfully probably more so. It was then that Jen realised he was the sort of man who would say if something didn't suit her, or if she looked fat in a certain dress, or if she should do something else instead of what she was wanting because in the end it would be best for her. Smiling to herself, she inwardly thanked him for being so truthful, even if it was a backwards way of thinking.
Being pulled off the ladder, she couldn't help but give a loud giggle and kick her legs a little in defiance to what he had in store for her. Laughing as she noticed the paint splatters on his face had somehow become streaks, she knew it was time for his payback, and it would be worse than a few paint splats.
Sure enough, as soon as she was put down on the floor, he had wiped paint on her forehead. "How dare you!" she grinned, wiping her forehead, leaving paint on her hand, she rubbed it onto Russ's face before wiping the excess onto his shirt.

Russ mocked Jen and made a shocked face as she wiped paint on his face once more, "How dare you," he said trying his best to sound like her. Taking the paintbrush again, he made one nice stripe down the front of her shirt. Slowly but surely she'd be covered in paint. Russell laughed, "Oh! Whatcha gonna do now?" he asked making a face at her before taking the paint brush once more and coloring her nose with the navy paint. "Jen the clown..." he said with a grin.
pushing himself off her, he sat down and pulled the bucket of paint closer to him just in case she tried anything. He was ready for her now. Sometimes, Russ seemed as if he was a child again, but wasn't every adult a child at heart? Russ definitely was and this proved it. He stared at her with a goofy look on his face as he awaited her reaction. He was surely dead but he didn't care.

Jennifer just stood shocked when Russ painted a big stripe down her top, and then topped it off with a splodge on her nose. When he called her a clown, she couldn't help but laugh.
"Right, that's it mister!" she said, picking up the paintbrush and dipping it carelessly into the navy paint. Running at Russ, she jumped infront of him and flicked the paintbrush at him before throwing the weapon of choice at his chest and running away.
She wasn't sure where she was running to, but just away from Russ. He was going to probably going to pick her up and dip her entire head into the paint pot or something similar. The thought of it made her laugh and double over a little in anticipation of what was to come. Biting her lower lip with a cheeky look on her face, she clung onto the doorframe, ready to run up the stairs when he came after her.
"Oh dear, I seem to of spilt a bit!" she said with a pout, pretending to care. It had been a long time since she hadn't had to care about something. For so long she had been a sensible adult sorting out her business and moving out and switching jobs, but she hadn't just stopped, and had a bit of childish fun with someone, and she was glad it was with Russ.

Russ closed his eyes as he was yet again splattered with paint, "Is that the worse you can- umph," Russ caught the brush as it was thrown at him. "You're gonna get it now," he said with a chuckle. He ran after her and stopped a few feet away. He forgot the paint brush and didn't have a bucket either. He was unsure of his next move or whether or not he had a next move. All he could do was stare at Jen as she stood in the doorway covered in paint.
He knew he had to get her before she ran upstairs and ruined everything he owned, not like he'd care though. Taking baby steps toward her, he held up his hands as if surrendering, "Alright, alright. You win." He extended an arm in front of him hoping Jen would take his hand, "Come here," he said softly, mischief in his voice and eyes.
"Jen? Come here please," he said moving a little closer as if expecting her to run up the stairs any moment. He liked this little game they were playing and it kept him interested in her more. "I wanna show you something," He continued with a big grin. He had nothing to show her, he was just hoping she'd buy it.

Jennifer just smirked at Russ as he took baby steps towards her with his arms outstretched. Raising an eyebrow, she let out a small laugh.
"No chance mate, I know what your gonna do! Your gonna dip my entire head in a paint bucket!" She said, shaking her head at him. Taking a step back, readying herself to run away, she couldn't help but want to just run and jump into his arms. She didn't care if he did dip her head into the paint or not, it would be funny.
Giving a mischevious grin, she did the unexpected and walked up to him, squinting a little at what he was going to do to her. Joining her hands behind her back, she twisted left and right a little, like a child would.

He was back. The first time he had set foot in Hogsmeade in over fifteen years, a little sleepy town that was mainly over-run with Hogwarts students, and he used to be one of the horde. Holding his dark jacket over his shoulder, he walked down the old familiar road, which seemed much shorter now somehow.
Taking in the sights that most of them he had clearly forgotten, he glanced over to a lot of new shops that had set-up after he left for Quidditch camp. He was pleased to see the old favourites were still firmly in place. and the little village seemed to be thriving still after all these years.
Deciding he was going to see if the old barman was still at the Three Broomsticks, he headed for the direction of the inn. Reaching to push the door open, he noticed a shop sign that was familiar to him. Haynes. Could that be the great Russell Haynes?
Curiosity. What a splendid thing. Letting the door fall back to it's former place, he made his way over to the shop sign. Taking in the shop front, he noticed it was 'Quidditch Supplies'. It must of been his old team mate. "Good job on the store name Susan" he laughed to himself sarcastically. Typical Theo, always sarcastic.
Opening the shop door, he noticed a woman in the way, looking at someone else. Following her gaze, his eyes fell upon Russell. "Well well, If it isn't the great Russell Haynes" he smirked, letting himself in and letting the door close on it own.

Russ couldn't help but laugh at Jen. "Oh come on! Do you even see a bucket near me? What's the worse I can do to you?" He kept his hand extended for her to take but she never did. Instead, she just walked up to him. Russ let his arm fall back to his side. "Hey there, Beautiful," he said with a grin.
Russ wanted to wrap his arms around her and kiss her but the moment wasn't right and he definitely didn't want to get smacked across the face like he had so many times before with different woman. There was just something about her. Something he couldn't put his finger on. This excited him and scared him at the same time.
Hearing the door close, he turned to the source. "Theo? Theo Harding is that you? What are you doing back here!" he said walking over to his old team member with a laugh. "Never thought I'd see you again, Mate!" Russell turned back to Jennifer, "Jen, Jen come here. You gotta meet this guy. This is Theo Harding, we played together for Kenmare. Theo this is Jen, my-" Russ looked from Theo to Jen then back to Theo again, "My friend."

Theo gave a laugh at Russell's face. He had to admit he'd missed the guy, he was a great laugh. When he played against him, they were big rivals, but as soon as Theo joined the Kestrals, they were like best buddies.
Extending a hand to Jennifer, he shook it before letting go and giving Russ a friendly hug. "So how long's it been? About three years?" he asked, questioning himself too. A lot had happened within them three years, including his wife leaving him for some younger, more well-off bloke.
"I've been appointed the Quidditch Coach at Hogwarts" he annouced, seeming quite excited about the idea of being back to where his roots of Quidditch first started off.
"I see you've done well for yourself?" he asked, rolling his eyes around the shop, taking in the paint splattered walls, and the charmed brush painting a small wall near to them. Raising his eyebrows at it, Jennifer looked and shouted at Russ. "Hey, You cheat!" slapping him gently on his stomach.
He decided he would change the subject over to the woman, who Russ seemed to have a thing for. "How long have you two been....friends?" he emphasised

Russ nodded as he returned the friendly, yet manly, hug to his old friend. It had in fact been at least three years since they had seen each other. Russ had often wondered what 'Old Man Ted' was up to. "Yeah, something like that," he answered as he rubbed the back of his neck. Looking to Jen, he smiled at her and placed a hand on the small of her back.
Giving his a surprised yet approving look, Russ grinned, "Quidditch Coach, Aye? Can't get away from the game can you? Either can I, Mate." In fact, if it wasn't for that injury, Russ would still be playing.
"Well, I'm doing the best I can right now. Rather be playing but I figured this would be second best. It's not the greatest, but I think I'm gonna be happy." He wasn't about to let on that the reason he thought he'd be happy was because of Jen's friendship but that would come later when he wasn't being such an ignorant guy. Russ put a hand on his stomach were Jen had smacked him and he laughed, "What?" he said before pulling her into a small hug.
"Eh, not that long." Russ noticed something in Theo's eyes and Russ chuckled, "Dude, we're just friends. Nothing more." So maybe he didn't have to be an arse about it and he did wish it could escalate to more in the future but it was the truth. They were friends.

Theo couldn't help but give a small deep chuckle when Russ said neither of them could get away from the game. It was true, they were both as bad as each other, especially when they were Rivals.
"Well even if you can't play anymore, at least you still have it in your life. You should come and give the kids a lesson with me one day, get the goss on what it takes to be a real player" he emphasised the 'player' of more of a 'playa' and playfully slapped russ's arm with the back of his hand. Noticing Russ put his hand behind Jen, he waited until she looked away before he gave Russ a wink. What a guy, we was always pulling some fit woman, and here was Theo getting a divorce from his wife Sylvia. What a bitch.
Jen smiled a little more when she felt Russ's hand on the small of her back, looking up to Russ, she gave him a toothy grin, and stood next to him with her hands clamping a paintbrush infront of her. If anyone else didn't know the situation, they'd think that Jen was Russ's wife.
"So, Sylvia left. Remember that guy we played, who joined Puddlemere United? Well, she left me for that rubbish player" he admitted. Puddlemere United weren't so united when it came to playing, they were always all over the place.
