"Remember to come in the proper uniform!"
Proper uniform? Her mother must be joking. This little ensemble was hardly a uniform. Christi Locke had given Fay a skirt that went barely past her finger-tips -- it was black -- and a purple sweater that dipped down in the middle. If Christi wasn't her mother, Felicity certainly wouldn't have showed up at the store like this.
Why in fact was the poor girl dressed up in such a way? Well, to escape all of the drama and rumors from the school, she decided to help out her mom today. It was a weekend day, so she didn't have any classes at all. Plus, this was always the busiest time of the week, and her mother needed a day off anyway.
So, here she was, alone in the store while her mother got in her 'much needed' shopping. Felicity sat behind the counter, and her fingers thrummed against the top. She eyed the chocolate only a few feet away from her, dear god it was tempting. But, no, she wasn't going to gorge herself today, she had to watch the store.
There was a small ring from the bell above the door as some students walked in. Felicity perked up slightly and smiled, trying to play the right role. But, the kids were in and out in a matter of seconds. One kid actually frightened her by slamming the money on the counter. She blinked at the kids as they walked out the door.
"..Have a Nice Day?"
With a small shrug, Fay leaned back in her chair and blew some hair out of her eyes. Busy day? Fft, barely anyone had come. Then again, they had just opened. There was still the whole day ahead of her. Oh joy.
(Cool title right? ;D )

(Ace Title Ally! Hope you dont mind?)
Jase had finally decided to take a trip to Hogsmeade, it was one of the few places he hadn't been yet. Though he was getting a few odd looks from people because of the bruising around his eyes but he just shrugged it off like Jase did. The streets were rather empty considering, then again it was still early. Jase had grabbed himself a cup of chocolate from Madame Puddifoots in a plastic cup to keep himself warm as he trudged through the street.
It was nearing ten he thought or maybe half past he didnt really know. The cold air was biting at his cheeks rather painfully and his hands were turning red through the cold and the combined heat of the cup of chocolate. He walked past the three broomsticks, having no intention to mix alcohol in his system, probably not a good idea right now.
His eyes set on a sweet shop, Jase was weak when it came to chocolate, everyone who knew him knew that. Jase sighed as he opened the door, the bell clanging overhead. The scent of chocolate and fudge and all things that equalled yum filled his nose making his mouth water. Picking up some of Honeydukes own fudge and licorice wands he walked over to the counter, it took a second for it to register who was stood there, and suddenly he felt uneasy.
"Uh" He started, he knew customer and employee's didnt have to communicate but he'd said he would apologize to her for what happened, and there was no time like the present. "I dont suppose I can... Uh... Have a word? Could I?" Jase gave an uneasy kind of smile and put the sweets on the counter before rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "I owe you an apology, and possibly an explanation... Im not quite sure"

( *bows* Thank you xDD And I don't mind at all <3 )
Some more students passed through, and some were actually more polite than the first. One little first year looked like she was scared out of her bloomin' mind. What could she be frightened of in a candy store? It was full of sweets for Merlin's sake!
There was one particular boy that had rather irked her this morning. He walked in all haughty, like he owned the place. And when he came over to the counter, he started to size her up, like he was purchasing a horse or something. Fay had to keep her eye from twitching as he winked at her. Do. Not. Gag.
In situations like these, Felicity just smiled pretty and perhaps tampered with the boy's candy. So maybe she switched up his chocolate with one that would give him boils, who knows. Once he was out of the store, Fay's smile dropped instantly and she shuddered. "Ew."
Someone else walked into the store, and Fay glanced up momentarily to see Jase. She blinked for a moment, not exactly sure that what she was seeing was real. Well, it wasn't like it was his fault that her mother owned the store. When he came over to the counter, he seemed just as surprised to see her. The corners of her lips twitched up into a smile at his expression.
"You don't owe me either, but I would appreciate them."

((Dont worry about the late post, I dont mind!))
As Jase thought about how to explain things to her, some other rude kid pushed in the way. A flash of anger went over Jase's face and it took all his effort to fight back saying anything. What would be the point in trying to apologize to Fay if he began another fight here? So instead he looked away, took a couple of deep breaths and found himself to be fine as the kid walked off.
"Well I feel like I do."
Jase shrugged as he stood on the opposite side of the counter, finding it a little difficult to explain when kids kept wanting sweets every two minutes or so. This, Jase would admit, was annoying him a little bit, but it was a sweet shop and Fay was working, what did he expect really? He waited until the que went down and more people left the shop, and of course more people came in. This was like a store version of the M65 or something like that! Traffic of people everywhere.
"I dont suppose you'll be having a break soon would you?" He asked, "Its kinda hard to say anything when," Someone pushed in with a question about how much licorice wands cost, "That happens." He finished with a mumble.
He looked at the person and felt like he recognised him from somewhere, though he was probably just another student at the school and faces, Jase remembered. Names, not quite so. Of course he remembered Fays and Laneys due to the accident that pushed them together on the lawns. "I'll tell you what, I'll wait at the Three Broomsticks for you. Come over when you have a break or whatever and I'll explain and apologize then."
He payed for the sweets and made his way out of the shop. Running a hand through his hair as he walked down the street, chomping on his licorice wand. That store and Jase, great sweets, but there was too many people for his liking, to many people wanting things and not saying thanks when they helped. Still, as Jase pushed open the door he realised the Three Broomsticks wasnt any better. Ordering a Butterbeer, he sat down at a table in a secluded corner. Apologizing wasnt Jase's thing, and he didnt even know how he was going to do it yet.

Kids kept running in and out of the store, making it difficult to actually have a conversation. Felicity kept on her grin though, glaring would scare off the customers. Jase seemed to be growing aggitated by this fact as well.
"My mum should pass by soon, I can see if she can take over for a bit." Fay pointed the licorice kid over to the sign next to the candies, which stated the price. Some people needed to actually look before they asked, because then they weren't wasting her time.
"Three Broomsticks sounds great. I'll be there as soon as I can."
After Jase left, there was a few moments where mobs of students just kept entering the shop. Fay had to admit, it was slightly frightening. After she had counted through all the money and restocked the candies, her mother walked through the door. Felicity just groaned as her mother came walking in with bags of clothes.
"Mum, can you take over for a bit? I have to go meet a friend." "Ooo, what kind of friend Felicity?" Christi gasped. "Is it that boy you were talking to before?!" "..Yea." "Well then you can't go like that dear! Here, put on this, I just bought it for you!" "Mum I look fine, can I just go?" "No! No daughter of mine is going to meet a boy looking like that. Now go in the back and try it on!"
After much hassling and a few muttered profanities on Fay's end, she had on the little ensemble that her mother picked out and was on her way to meet Jase. What had Christi forced her daughter to wear? Well, Fay had been forced into a light blue sweater, with a white skirt to match. And, of course, some nice shoes to match it.
As Felicity walked into Three Broomsticks, she could feel eyes of others on her. Fay spotted Jase and quickly went over to sit by him. Someone placed a Butterbeer in front of her, and Fay blinked up at the waiter. The waiter pointed to a student over at the other end of the place, who smiled at her.
"That kid bought it for ya. No charge on ya miss." "..Tell him..er..thanks?"
The waiter nodded and sauntered off, leaving Fay a little red in the face from embarrasment. She glanced up at Jase, then back down at her Butterbeer.

A secluded corner usually meant a couple wanted space to be alone and have a place to giggle and say sweet nothings to. Though this time it wasnt the case, Jase had somethings he needed to tell Felicity, apologize for and all the rest of it. He felt bad for what happened to her as it shouldnt have happened, nor should he have said some of the things he said to her. Though that day on the lawns proved to him that Max was liked and possibly respected. Sure, Jase didnt like Max, but he respected the way he handled things when Fay was hurt.
He was already on his third butterbeer by the time Fay walked in, and he would be lying if he said he wasnt feeling sick. Though that could be due to the fact that he had drank three pints of butterbeer and ate all the sweets he had bought. As she sat down, a waiter brought her a butterbeer as Jase looked in the general direction of the student that bought it for her and let out a little laugh.
"Looks like someone has an admirer"
So they werent here to joke about things, but a little joke could loosen the tension he was feeling, right? With a sigh, he swilled the remains of his drink in the bottom of the glass. Someone should break the silence and he knew that someone should be him, afterall he had asked her to come here for a reason.
"Look, what happened the other day at the Lawns." Jase began, "I wont lie, it was between me and Maxi, but you shouldnt have gotten hurt."
Not a great start, but it was a start at least. He nodded to the barman who brought him another drink, taking the empty glasses with him. Jase sighed, he really wasnt very good at the talking thing, well apologizing and explaining, which he heard, another thing he had in common with the lanky freak.
"I feel bad that you did, I really do and I'm sorry. We should have been more careful." He drank some of his drink and finally brought himself to look at her. "I know that you were watching out for your friend and I know that you didnt want Max getting hurt." He shook his head, the fight with him and Max, whether physical or verbal, he doubted it was over. Though nobody else should get hurt on their part, "I'm sorry. I really didnt want you hurt and I felt real bad about it afterwards." Which wasnt like Jase usually.

"Oh stuff it. I don't have an admirer of any sort."
Felicity muttered as she glared down at her butterbeer. It was silent again, and she was tracing her finger around the rim of her butterbeer. Fay didn't really have anything to say, Jase was the one who called her down here anyway. She glanced up at him, and he looked like he was trying to plan out what he would say.
Between him and Max, she knew that. She had gone over the situation in her head thousands of times and it was clear each time that the little fight that had been going on with Max and Jase went past just that day.
Fay was brought out of her thoughts as Jase spoke again. She blinked and looked up at him. More careful? Was he serious? How could anyone be more careful in a fight? "You shouldn't feel that bad." Felicity went back to tracing the rim of her glass, and she was silent for a moment as she thought.
"It was my own fault for jumping into the situation, and I probably should've thought out my plan of action more." She stopped and looked back up at Jase. "But it wasn't your fault that at the moment I tried to..detain you, Maxi decided to punch you. And I'm not blaming him either." Fay sighed and brushed some of her hair out of her eyes. Her hand lingered where the scar was, then dropped onto her lap.
"Don't think that you owe me anything, because you don't. I'd be perfectly understanding if you just got up and walked away right now and never spoke to me again." She looked back down at her drink. "I've heard the rumors, people think of you guys as the bad ones who attacked me. If you didn't talk to me again, it'd probably help you to get along better." Felicity bit down on her lower lip.

"So some guy from across the room just bought you a butterbeer for no reason then?"
Jase smiled as he brought his own drink to his lips and looked across the room in the general direction of the person who bought Fay hers. "And he's still looking over here for no reason aswell?" Jase placed his drink back on the table and laughed.
Things between the Ravenclaw and the Gryffindor were possibly complicated because their first meeting ended in a trip to the hospital wing. Those were the sort of first impressions that never seemed to go down well. Though the one good thing that was happening was, at least Jase was trying to put it right instead of avoiding things like he could do quite easily.
"Shouldnt I?" Jase half laughed, "You got hurt because of me and Max. I think that warrents me feeling bad."
Jase shook his head, it wasnt her fault she was trying to help her friend out. For all Fay knew, Jase was a psychopath intent on killing Max, well Jase wasnt. He was a halfbrother intent on killing Max instead. Okay maybe not killing, but hurting him like hell, afterall, they did share a hatred for one another. "You have a caring heart," Jase smiled, he admired that, "You were only trying to help Max," Jase looked at her with a furrowed brow, "No, it is our fault. We should have left that fight for a more private moment instead of letting it get out of hand like it did. It was mine and his fight and it should have been done in a place nobody else could have gotten hurt"
"Funny thing is, I've never listened or set much in store by rumours" Jase smiled, "Let them think what they want to. People like that always do. The truth isnt nearly as interested as a twisted version of it is it?" He shrugged and looked out of the window, "You know, it should be me saying if you never spoke to me again I'd understand. Afterall it was down to me and Max that we're here having this conversation." Jase looked down at his drink, "Well I wanted to apologize, I have done now... So I guess its down to you if you want to speak to me and whatever."

"Maybe he was buying it for some other girl, and the waiter just confused it."
Felicity glanced over in the direction of the kid and he smiled again and winked. Fay blinked, and shifted her chair over so Jase blocked her view of the boy. She gasped as Jase looked behind him. "Don't look at him! Then he'll know that we know!"
The veela frowned, her 'brows knitted together in frustration. "No. It's not your fault, or Maxi's fault. I think we should agree that it's no one's fault and fate just hates us and likes to toy with us." She raised an eyebrow and took a small sip of her butterbeer. "Agreed?"
Felicity flushed lightly at his compliment and muttered a 'thank you'. No one had ever told her that before. Well, unless they did tell it to someone else and were just too scared to say it to her face. But, none the less, the fact that someone thought that brought a smile to her face.
"Is that just a Gryffindor thing?" Felicity looked back up at Jase. "Because every other Gryffie I've talked to says that too."
Jase was looking back down at his drink, like she would start scolding him or something. Or make a big scene and stomp away. Obviously he didn't know Fay very well. "I already told you, I have no reason to hate you. And I don't mind talking to you." She grinned and patted his head. "So no need to worry about having an angry Felicity coming after you."
