“Yes Miss Queens…in the shop. Right in the middle of it in fact.”
Dan grinned as he teased her a little more about dancing in the shop, it was quite clear she felt slightly awkward about it all, as for Dan he had lost all worry at the door when he opened the shop, for him that was enough public embarrassment to make everything else miniscule. Taking hold of one of her hands and placing the other on her waist Dan waited for a moment for Jennifer to take her shoes off before starting to lead the way.
Surprising or not this small act took the attention of many people in the shop and they made a little bit of room to watch the two people dance around to the faint music in the background. They spun this way and that, Dan taking extra care not to step on her toes or stumbling over his own feet. The last time he had done this sort of thing he was focusing on not stepping in bowls of potatoes and knocking over goblets full of pumpkin juice, that had been a magical night a sign of things to come with…with Dia.
Dan suddenly stopped, his eyes with glazed over slightly and almost as if he was touching a burning flame Dan quickly let go of the shop owner and looked down at his shoes. He shock his head slightly and after a deep breath looked up and managed to hold the gaze of Jennifer for the briefest of moments.
“Sorry I…I suddenly went a bit light headed. I think I will get changed.”
With a weak smile Dan quickly turned on his heel and headed back to the changing room, pulling the purple closed quickly and he sunk to the floor, breathing heavily trying to regain his composure.

Jennifer gave him a look of shock as he started to pull her round the shop dancing. It soon changed into a face full of laughter and she threw her head back giggling as he twirled her around. "Your crazy you are, you know that?" she grinned looking at him. She found the faces of the customers highly amusing, and this just made her laugh even more. Suddenly Daniel stopped and let go of her, and Jennifer just stood where he let her go, and gave a small frown.
“Sorry I…I suddenly went a bit light headed. I think I will get changed.”
She didn't have time to ask him, he'd escaped to the changing room. She could tell he wasn't telling the truth, it was something more than that. She kept the frown on her face and turned back around the counter and slipped her shoes back on.
Why did he suddenly start acting strange?

Dan breathed in deeply trying to keep himself under control, he could not afford to break down, not now and not in front of so many people. With his head in his hands Dan was trying to fight the stinging threat of tears, he could feel them, just daring him to blink and let them spill, but he could not let them…he would not.
Pushing himself to his feet Dan just stared at the wall of the changing room for a moment or two just to remind himself that he was alright, he would be fine and that he had nothing to cry about, Dia had moved on and it was about time he did.
Slowly Dan changed out of the shirt and jacket in no particular hurry to get back out onto the shop floor all too soon. He feared that the emotion would still be to clear in his eyes, that people would be able to tell he had been on the verge of tears and at the opening of someone’s shop it was not the best place to start rumours of an emotional break down. Once back in his normal cloths Dan took another deep breath and practised his best grin in advance just to prove to himself that he could still do it.
Drawing back the purple curtain and entering the main area once again Dan grinned over at Jennifer and pushed the shirt and jacket onto the counter and raised his eyebrows as he glanced around the shop and the what almost seemed like constant stream of customers that was filling it up.
“So then Jen, are you going to tell me how much this costs?”

Jennifer had a feeling Dan was feeling emotional. She wanted to ask him what was wrong, but she felt like she might decrease his masculinity, or what he might of thought anyway. Frowning to herself, she decided she wouldn't ask him what was wrong in the shop because it wouldn't look good for business if he started crying in the middle of the store, or became angry. Either emotion he probably wouldn't welcome or want to show infront of Jennifer at the moment, but she could tell he was hurting. Poor thing. When he scrambled back out of the changing rooms, she quickly edited her frown to a friendly smile, trying to hide the glint of sympathy in her eyes, in which she hoped she did well. Parting her lips to speak, she stopped, and decided to think before speaking or what she just thought would come tumbling out. "It is a little stuffy in here" she said, wafting her face with her hand while in a slight pose and her other hand onto her waist. He then pushed the clothes he was just wearing onto the counter and asked how much it was going to cost. She checked the labels, and did quick math on her hands, giving him a little discount. He probably realised what she was doing, so she confessed. "Mates Rates, and before you say no, you have no choice, just accept it" she simply said, eyebrows raised. She hadn't known him long, but she knew already that he was as stubborn as a mule.

Dan watched Jennifer wave her hand in front of her face like a makeshift fan and all he could do was mange a small smile. He would have loved to have been able to laugh about it all and take hold of the big floppy summer hat that was on the shelf near by and waft her with it in a playful attempt to be helpful, but for some reason…well he knew the reason…but it did not feel right. To flirt with another woman when he still had such strong feelings for someone else it just seemed morally wrong, it was the one thing that had got him in this mess (along with the aid of alcohol)
But Dan knew that he could not go on for the rest of his life refusing to smile at any beautiful woman that passed his way then things would get a bit dull. He was single after all so where would be the harm in any form of light flirtation. It seemed that Jennifer was doing her own little bit of it too as when she announced the price she added with a grin the whole prospect of mates rates and that there was no way he could argue his way out of it. The look of determination on her face was rather appealing to Dan, he liked woman who knew where they stood on a matter…that he respected but he would still push the limits.
“Mates rates?” Dan questioned and he leaned his elbows on the counter and gave Jennifer a look to match her own. “Well I would hate to see the discount you give your boyfriend if you give a complete stranger like me such discounts.”

Jennifer could see the Daniel Hubbles she had begun to know had disappeared, and had been replaced with the total opposite. He would normally have joked along with her right about now, but all he did was give the tiniest smile imaginable out of sheer politeness. She looked down and frowned a little.
Remembering what Ashton had said just moments before, she realised it must of been something to do with him and the love of his life. Sighing, she looked back up at him and gave a similar smile to the one he just gave.
"Nonsense, Me? Boyfriend?! Your having a laugh arn't you?" she raised her eyebrows. He knew full well she wouldn't be flirting with him if she was taken. She suddenly became a little distant, lost in her own thoughts. Was this whole scene just a faze of his? Realising she hadn't answered him, she didn't look at him to answer. "Just accept the discount"
