After spending an evening with some students clearing them of their minor injuries, Carrie decided to go into the village to get a few things. Taking the shortcut from the humpedback witch into the cellar of Honeydukes, she made her way up the stairs and out the door into the streets of Hogsmeade. The warm breeze caressed her skin as she exited the store and began to walk down the cobblestone street scanning the stores that she passed by. For some reason Carrie felt so drained from everything that was going on.
Still unsure of how she should approach things, she stopped by the apothocary and took a look around. They had some new things in the shop that she overheard some of the students talking about. As she entered, glancing around at some of the new cauldrons that they had and some new ingredients that they just got in. The man at the counter asked if she needed any help, Carrieanne shook her head no but thanked him for offering. She made her way around looking through the many different things that the store offered, but she didn't find anything she needed muchless wanted.
Saying goodbye to the shopkeeper, the young healer walked out and up toward the stationary shop. There were definately things that she needed in there. Approaching the little place, she stepped up the stairs and opened the door for a couple whom were making their way out. Giving them a smile, she walked in afterwards hearing them tell her thank you, she glanced back and nodded. Entering the shop, she said hello to the shop keeper who also offered their services to help her, once again she shook her head kindly answering with a no. Doing a quick walk through, she thought of the list of things she needed in her mind.
Carrieanne made her way back to the quill and ink area. She needed a new quill, a self writing quill at that to make her job easier so she could help Archi if she needed to. She also needed to get some ink for it too. She eventually found the self writing quills and picked one up then headed to the ink bottles. While she was scanning along the way, she heard the door open to the shop; at first she ignored it because she wasn't interested in who it was that entered, but little did she know she was about to face her nightmare.

The very colourful language of Daniel Hubbles echoed around the empty Charms classroom as yet another quill tip snapped off. That had been his third quill of the day that had broken and all in different places, clearly he had a lot of frustration to let out and the poor quills were taking it hard. Throwing the now redundant quill into a box of other odds and ends Dan pulled open the top draw only to discover it was completely empty. Another chorus of bad language filled the room along with the clatter of his chair being pushed across the room and then soon followed by the classroom door slamming shut.
The walk to Hogsmeade somehow seemed longer then normal and the sound of his own footsteps on the gravel path was grating on him, in short Dan Hubbles really had had enough. It was times like this when he would have turned to the bottle to help give him some sort of respite from the stress and worries he seemed to be carrying with him but now he did not have that choice or at least he would not let himself have it as an option. The small wizarding village was strangely busy for this time of day and as Dan weaved his way through the crowds he headed towards the small stationary shop near the top of the high street. Before entering the shop Dan’s hand lingered momentarily on the door handle and with a deep breath he twisted the handle and pushed open the door and on cue the tinkle of the bell followed along with the sickly cheerful and well rehearsed greeting from the shop keeper.
“Good Afternoon Professor. How can I be of assistance?” “I just need some Quills thank you Julian.” Dan’s voice was just a cheerful and a wide smile filled his face. “I seemingly seemed to be getting through mine at an alarming rate.”
Both men gave a soft chuckle and as Julian vanished into the backroom Dan dropt the false pretence and the smile quickly faded and was replaced by the frown. Walking over towards the shelving where the many boxes of quills were kept Dan noticed that someone else was in the shop. This fact should not have surprised him but it was who that person was.
“Carrieanne?”

Standing in the aisle of where the ink was kept, Carrieanne sorted through the jars trying to find the black ink. Kids now adays wanted colorful ink for their work, and that's all she was seeing was colors. "Where's the black ink?" she said quietly. Scanning the second shelf, she noticed the label that said black a sigh escaped her lips and rolled her eyes to herself. Picking it up, she looked at it to make sure it was what she wanted and it was.
Picking up another bottle for Archi, she checked that label too and saw that it said black. "Good, just what I was looking for." she muttered softly. Turning the opposite way to face the quills, she scanned the labels on the boxes looking for the self writing quill. Out of the corner of her eye, she glanced over to watch the shopkeeper go into the back room. She didn't hear who had come in because she was interested in finding black ink, so when she heard her name being said, she turned to see Dan standing there.
Carrieanne nearly lost the bottles in her hand but caught them. Taking a deep breath, she let it out slowly and turned back to the quills and responded "What do you need Professor?" she inquired with an irritable tone. She went back to scanning the boxes, this time on the second shelf for the quill she was in search for. Her thoughts were turning in circles, mixing her emotions with anger, frustration, and hurt. That wasn't a good combination and a recipe for disaster.
To calm herself, she thought about Archi and how he makes her laugh at the littlest things. Inside she was smiling, but on the outside was a completely different story. She stopped and glanced up at the top shelf once more and saw the tag for self writing quills, "Ahh, that's what I was looking for." she said reaching up and grabbed a couple of them. Turning toward Dan "Was there something you wanted to say or are you going to stand there like an idiot?" she asked waiting for him to say something.

Out of everyone Dan knew Carrieanne was the last person he actually expected to get that sort of tone from. Surprising or not he had had that tone thrown at him quite a lot of times but it was normally from the woman he would spend the night with and then the very next day go on a date with their best mates, so really it was a tone that woman who he had wronged took with him…and Dan was sure he had never done anything to offend Carrie. As a result Dan was slightly taken a back and just looked on at her as she carried on looking at all the quills they had for sale, that was until yet again she turned to him and the look she gave him was enough let alone calling him an idiot.
Today was not a day to be calling Dan an idiot seeing as he was not in the best of moods anyway and then to insult him and take such a tone with him in the middle of a shop was a little more the man could take.
“I am sorry do you have a problem with me coming over are trying to make conversation with you?” Frustration with life a whole was clear in Dan’s voice. “Forgive me for trying to be sociable, I will give you the cold shoulder next time.”
Rolling his eyes Dan turned his back on Carrieanne and walked over to the expensive quills and ink pots just out of want to not be searching the same shelf as Carrie. His response may have been rather immature but he had been spending a lot of time in the Commonroom recently and was finding himself picking up a few traits of the younger students. (He now had a habit of tying sweet wrappers together to make a chain and giving everyone a high five…Headmaster Darrow luckily found that amusing when Dan went to high five him.)
((Oh my I am so sorry this post is terrible! I am really sorry.))
