Cristian had been trying to escape all the hustle and bustle of the school, rumours still flying around about his now dead sister, and his new engagement. To be honest, he was sick of it all. Since he came to this school, it seemed to be one thing after another. He was close to leaving, and if one more thing happened, he probably would. Forget Ash, Forget Laney, Forget everything. The only thing he couldn’t leave, the only thing really keeping him here was his sister.
It seemed everywhere he went, someone who he had no idea who they were, from any house, would come up to him and ask him about something that was non of their damn business. Batting them off and telling them to mind their own business didn’t really seem to work, and he couldn’t even escape it in the Ravenclaw common room. He was sick of it.
“Haven’t you got your own little pathetic life to deal with?” he spat at a rather obnoxious Slytherin in the entrance to the library. Giving them a look of anger, he stormed off into the library, looking back at them and glaring. Stupid nosey cow, what’s it got to do with anyone what I do with my damn life? He said to himself through gritted teeth.
Wanting as much peace as possible, he walked, no scratch that, more like stomped over to a small table in the far corner of the Library. A frown plastered on his face that seemed unmovable, he slammed his books down on the table, causing a ruckus within the library walls. Looking up at some heads that seem to of submerged from out of the books, he raised his eyebrows. “What? You’ve never seen a bad mood before?” he pouted, before pulling his seat out rather noisily and plonking himself down in it.
Giving a big sigh, he pushed the books away from him, and arched his elbows onto the table, placing his head within one of his hands. Thinking for a moment, everything at the minute seemed hopeless, and his arches collapsed, creating a pillow for his head. If only he could sleep...

Rubbing her temple as she hunched over a book that was written completely in Latin so it was safe to say it was a very slow read. The slanted writing all seemed to blur into one and after managing to get through five pages in around two hours the Ravenclaw was ready to admit defeat. Making note of the page number Daphne gently closed the pages of the ancient book just at the same time as someone else in the library slammed there books down. Turning around with an even bigger frown then she had when trying to read Latin Daphne wanted to know who the culprit was and was very surprised to see it was a Ravenclaw.
Books are a source of knowledge, you can find the answer to anything in a book and to see people treat such a thing in such a way was a crime. Turning back to the book in front of her Daphne gently stroked the cover before carefully picking it up and she was on her way back the shelf it came from when the very same Ravenclaw started to shout at someone. Rolling her eyes with a small smirk at a fellow library geek she slipped the book back with its counterparts and was about to pick up her bag when once again the boy caught her eye. (It now looked like he was trying to sleep)
“Excuse me?” She inquired in hushed tones. “The library is a place for quite studying…not shouting and sleeping.”
They may have been in the same house but Daphne had not clue who this boy was but he most defiantly seemed like the modern type of Ravenclaw…depressed, unrespectful to the art of books and seemingly not willing to work. What had the world come to?

It was good for Cristian to be able to just see darkness in the little hole he made between his arms, where his face seemed to sit nicely. It was the first time he was able to relax for months, and after a few moments silence and thinking about nothing, he'd read up on some more history, this time about Germany.
Hearing the sound of a hushed female voice, Cristian frowned before lifting his face up from his arms, and looked at the girl who stood before him, a fellow Ravenclaw who he hadn't seen before. He probably had, but he didn't really pay much attention, he had trouble anyway with all the drama that had been going on since he arrived. Sighing before leaning back into his chair, which may of looked rather cocky and obnoxious but he was just trying to de-stress.
Taking in what she just said, he didn't know whether to shout at her or apologise. She was right though, so Cris decided to take a deep breath in and wipe the frown from his face. "Your right, i'm sorry. It's just...nevermind, you don't need to know" he sighed the deep breath out, realising she probably didn't want to know, or care about his life. She probably knew most of it from the gossiping folk of Hogwarts anyway.
Leaning forward once again, he leant his forearms on the desk and looked down at his hands for a moment before looking back at the girl, and flicking his hair away from his eyes. "I'll try to keep it down, okay?" he whispered to her. Great, now he felt bad for disturbing everyone. Maybe going to the Library wasn't the best idea he ever had, but nothing seemed like a great idea at the moment.

Daphne was not quite sure what she wanted the poor guy to do, he had apologised to her but she was leaving the library anyway and there was no way he would be able to go around every single person in the library to apologise for the disturbance. Had the person been in any other house the Ravenclaw she would not have let them off so lightly, particularly with the slight cocky behaviour that he gave her at the start (though his later apologise did make up for it) However this original reaction might he gave her might have been something to do with the fact that he was openly shouting that he was in a bad mood.
Now Daphne was not a social outcast she had her own sets of friends and they all happened to sit in the library together at all hours of the day and even mange to find a quiet area in the common room to carry on their reading after curfew. But because there was what many could call radio silence when they were reading they never really talked about who was dating who in the castle…although it was information it was trivial and would not help them when it came to their final exams. Due to this fact Daphne had no clue what had been happening in the life of Cristian but clearly it was bothering him.
“You never tell a Ravenclaw that they do not need to know something as you are clearly implying that they do not know something which could be classed as an insult.”
Twisted logic but she was only whispering as fast as her brain was working which compared to most Slytherin’s was light speed. With a quick glance around Daphne staked claim to the closest chair pulling it closer to where her fellow house mate sat down. This was not something she normally did or would confess to be any good at but it seemed a lot more appealing then sitting in the common room watching a group of 3rd year’s playing chess completely wrong.

Cristian sat upright when she suddenly came out with a speech about what he said being an insult. Thinking back to what he just said, backtracking quickly, he realised what he said may of insulted her, even though it was a little backwards, but if someone had irritated him, he’d come out with backwards thinking too.
“Your right, I didn’t mean it to come out like that. I don’t even know why I’m still here” he admitted, more to himself than anything, he was just expressing his thoughts to the girl. He really didn’t know why he was still in Hogwarts, nevermind the damn library. Even though the Ravenclaw was being truthful, he was glad in a way she put him in his place, he would of done just the same if he was watching it from different eyes. Sighing once again, he watched as she pulled out a chair and sat next to him. A little confused as to why she did this, he just stared at her, unsure of what to say or do next.
“So, I’m Cristian. I’m hoping your first impression of me could be scrapped” he said giving a sideways smile at her, and looking at her with guilt showing in his eyes. He hadn’t been in a bad mood for years, and he probably looked like a typical angst-ridden emo teen, in which he wasn’t. He wasn’t at all usually, even though he may look like it. He was happy, up until he came to Hogwarts anyway.
Looking at the girl, he tried to picture her around the castle, but for the life of him, he couldn’t remember her face. Not even in the Ravenclaw common room. She was still looking at him with what seemed a little frown, and it made him smile a little, she was a cute one, and she looked even cuter when she frowned. Okay, so the thing now, was to try and act like his normal self, now she had begun talking to him and pretty much got him off his own pedestal, he felt a bit better, and in less of a bad mood. It wasn’t the best way to portray himself to someone on a first meeting.

“Daphne Morgan” She smiled back at the Ravenclaw finding his small side ways grin slightly infectious. Yet there was a look in his eyes that made a frown etch its way across her forehead, he was clearly feeling guilty for what he did but she was sure there was something else behind it all, after all you did not purposely come into a library just to shout at its other occupants. “But of course we can always start a new, I mean I bet I came across as a mardy cow just then.”
At the mention of her pervious actions towards Cristian she nervously played with the ends of her robe. It was a very rare thing for Daphne to get nervous around anyone as she always had the up most belief she was right…it would also be very easy to say it was a rare thing for Daphne to be talking to a male of the spices let alone have the belief that he had a rather dream like smile.
Quickly reaching for a book on the table beside her the Ravenclaw began to flick through the many pages almost as if she was searching for something, she did not even know what topic the book was on only that it was providing her with a good distraction. With a small huff she snapped the book shut and rested the book on her lap and leaned closer to Cristian.
“Enlighten me then Cristian, why come to the library if you do not intend to read?”

Cristian gave a small laugh, trying to stifle it as much as possible so he didn’t get into more trouble than he was already in, especially with Daphne. He couldn’t help but feel instantly better talking to Daphne, whether it was her, or just someone other than Ash and Laney he didn’t know, but he found solace in the situation.
Watching the Ravenclaw beauty play with her robes, he couldn’t help but give an interested frown and a smirk before it all rearranged itself into one big smile. When she picked up one of his books, he leant forward to see what her expression on it was, and whether she would take interest in History, in which Cristian was so mad about.
“Enlighten me then Cristian, why come to the library if you do not intend to read?”
This question and the sudden shock of her speaking when Cristian didn’t expect her too made Cristian jump a little, although it went un-noticed. His eyes followed hers. “Well, I was attempting to calm down, then try and read to take my mind off things. Where were you headed?"

Daphne was not socially inept, she knew that a smile and the small bits of encouragement anyone could offer, even if from a stranger, could help someone feel better when they were a little blue. This change in Cris was already clear, she could see the smile tugging at the corners of his mouth and when he finally let it fill his face she could not help but smile back, it was infectious and a very dashing at that. Feeling her cheeks flush Daphne turned her head away almost to try and catch her breath. A clear move but then your cheeks’ turning red was not very conspicuous either and it was this lack of control that vexed the Ravenclaw, how emotions could never be tamed.
Turning back to look at him as he answered her question Daphne nodded her head in agreement full understanding why he had come. For her there was no place better then the library and with that in mind she was unsure as to why she was leaving the haven of peace and tranquillity that was provide among the bookshelves.
“I do not know where I am going, I guess back to the common room but the thought of having to put up with the lower years squabbles is quite frankly not the most appealing thing in the world.” She gave a small shrug and tapped her fingers on the cover of the book. “What…what are you doing after you have calmed down?”
She was not sure why but this Ravenclaw had made an impression on her and the idea of getting to know him better did seem appealing. (more so the fact of having a friend who was not a library geek would make a fun change)

Cristian gave a small laugh at Daphne’s indecision on whether to stay or leave, but he was glad she stayed. A strangers ear was always a good one in times of need, but all his problems seemed to of disappeared out of mind.
“For some reason, Younger Ravenclaw’s seem to be the most boisterous, always arguing about certain things or who’s smarter than who. I’ve never seen anything like it!” he smiled, but it was a strange smile. It was more of a gentle smile than the previous ones, as he was too focused on her eyes. They seemed so deep and the colour was truly mystifying. Realising he was going to look a little weird if he stared any longer, he looked down at his books for a moment.

Daphne returned Cris gaze, she normally became self conscious when people looked at her, particularly if they were male but for some reason did not feel this with Cris. The soft smile on his face comforted her and she could not help but let a small grin fill her own face. At his comment about the young Ravenclaw’s she could not help but laugh…well giggle which was rather unlike her.
“You may not have been a young Ravenclaw once Mr Martinez but I was so I will try not to take offence.” Daphne grinned over at her fellow housemate and thought upon the point some more, “However in my second year I had an argument with someone as they did not know the rules of chess and neither of us refused to budge, the head of house had to be called in.”
That had to be the most rebellious thing Daphne had ever done in her life and that was three years ago. She may have been getting top grades in ever subject but what was the point in life if you did not enjoy it. She could not think of the last time she stayed up past midnight that was not for Astronomy, the last time she was doing an easy to the last minute even turned up late to a lesson…she was the perfect student and for some reason that was not making her happy.
That was the moment her mind was made up and with a mischievous look and a toothy smile Daphne turned to Cris who was now looking at his books.
“I need to do something rebellious...I...I need to be less of a Ravenclaw...”

“I’ve never been a young one, I popped out like this” he joked before making a popping noise and an explosion with his hands. He tried to quieten his laughter, because he didn’t want Daphne’s expression to change to disapproving once again. “It can be rather boring being a Ravenclaw... What did you have in mind to make yourself less of one?” he said with a cheeky grin. Thinking for a moment, he looked back at his books before giving her a mischievous grin.
“Right then, if we’re to stop you being so Ravenclaw like, let’s charm these books so whoever touches them will get boils!” he grinned. Maybe Daphne wasn’t that adventurous, but she said she wanted to be less nerdy. Before she had chance to disagree, he had pulled her gently by the wrist and pulled her up and over to books that were used the most often. Grabbing as many as he could carry, he giggled as he ran back over to the table and put them down on it before looking back at her with a cheeky smirk.

Daphne could not help but laugh along with Cris when he joked about just popping out how he was now. It was a totally ridiculous thing to even contemplate and had it been anyone else who had said such a thing she would have most likely scoffed in their face and walked off…but she was enjoying Cris company too much, she could not understand why he had been so depressed earlier but it did not matter as she was now with a very cheeky Ravenclaw and she liked it. As soon as the look of mischief spread across his face and he eyes up the books Daphne knew he was onto something good. Biting her lip in anticipation she found herself wiggling a little closer to him on her seat but that seemed slightly pointless as before she had even finished moving he had taken hold of her wrist and was leading her over to the bookshelves and together they took armfuls of them back to the desk.
She could not believe she was doing this, after everything she had said about respecting books and here she was drawing a wand upon them putting curses on them like a Slytherin would….it was exhilarating. They were getting a few strange looks from other students in the library and when Daphne saw a flash of red hair she gave a small squeak and shrunk down in her chair thinking it would stop the librarian from seeing her.
“Cris do you think doing this in the middle of the library is a good idea?”

“So much for you respecting books aye?” Cristian joked, giggling a small muffled laugh behind one of the books. Looking over it at Daphne, his eyes showed his cheeky smile even though his mouth wasn’t visible. Looking at the books now spread rather awkward looking on the desk, he pushed some off others, so they were all spread out without trapping each other. He began by casting the charm on one of the smaller books and soon enough, a clear glittery stream came from the end of his wand and wrapped around the book before coming invisible. Looking back at Daphne, he smirked. It had worked.
“Quick, before Marsh comes and screams at me again” he said, casting the spell upon another book. Looking around to check who was watching, it was just a pair of first years looking on in awe and gasping at each other. Cris just looked up and them and gave a cheeky smirk before raising his finger to his mouth and hushing them. The pair just giggled and nodded back in response.
On the two books he had just charmed, he cast wingardium leviosa on them and levitated them back onto the shelves as quickly as possible.
