Kelvyn was stood by the board, finishing off writing on it. Once he had written everything his lesson was due to start. Kelvyn preffered to write the Muggle way rather than a swish of his wand a voila, it was done. He had organised the classroom differently to the last professor, he had gotten rid of the desks and instead it looked more like a college lecture theatre, with his raised platforms you could sit on and boards that pull across your legs, this was so everyone could see what was going on at the front rather than everyone having to strain their necks to see what was happening.
Ten more minutes for the lesson to start.

Jac was looking forward to this class. Her new head of house was teaching and she would be hexed to Australia and back if she was going to miss this one. She had promised herself that she would only skip out on Potions classes, knowing she would be hexed to Australia and back if she did go. That was just the relationship that she and Prof Vance had, she had not been in one of Prof Saunders classes and she hoped that it would be better then the cut-throat classes Vance held.
Enough of that, Jac strode confidently into the class and stopped dead in her tracks. The class had certainly changed since she had been here. A small giggle escaped her lips as she looked at the seating arrangements. This was going to be great. She walked up three stairs and sat in the second row, seating herself in the middle of the row. The Professor was standing by the black board and Jac smiled at him.
She lifted the strap of her ruck sack over her head and set her bag on the ground next to her. "Hello Professor," she greeted as the strap passed over her face. Her hand instinctively began to pull things out of her bag: pot of ink, quill, red and black notebook that she opened on the first page. She wrote down the heading of the day's lesson at the top of the first page, making it decorative and flashy. Jac liked eye catching notes while she studied, may as well start with that now.

Bopping along down the hallway, Polaris finally reached the door belonging to the 'Ancient Runes' room. Pushing the door open with a wolfish grin, the ravenclaw strode into the room and straight to the first seat she saw down in the middle of the first row of seat. Hm, she could have sworn this room somehow looked different, but then again, this was only her second year here. She noticed the Professor and greeted him with a smile and nod. "Hei, Profesjon."
Bi-coloured eyes scanned the room, taking in every detail quickly and accurately to store in her mind. Relaxing by sliding down into her chair a bit more, Polaris crossed her arms over her chest with an excited smile. Hell, she could hardly even stay still in her chair without fidgiting! Concentrating on the board, her smile slowly faded into a dissapointed frown. "So we're learning the runes by translated english instead of the way they're presented in the ways of the old?" Polaris pipped up, quite down-trodden with the Professors decision. But then again, she couldn't expect everyone to know as much as she did on certain subjects, seeing as she hailed from Norway. But, after all.. this was his class and not hers, so she couldn't blame him.

"Good morning Miss Biggerstall" Kelvyn replied as cheery as he ever was. For someone who spent half of his nights reading through old scriptures he was certainly breezy. Kelvyn had decided to teach the Runes, as a start, in the easiest way possible, slowly building it up until it got that little bit more complex for the students. He wanted to push them to their limits and find out exactly what their limits were.
He looked up as the sound of another voice drifted to him and he gave a little chuckle, if this one knew so much about Runes she would probably be one of his best students. "Yes," He answered simply, "For a start at least, I would like to get everyone who is not as well aquainted with Runes as some other people are, more aquainted with them before we start delving into the more detailed area of the Runes." With another small smile he added, "That is of course, if it is alright with you?" He had meant no offence by his last statement as it was said purely in a joking fashion. Looking down at his list of students who had signed up, from the two that we're already here he gave a sigh.
"We shall wait five more minutes, if not," He smiled, "We shall begin without them and they can suffer the consequences for themselves." He turned away whilst adding, "Feel free to talk to one another if you so desire."

Now she knew what it felt like for one's brain to hurt. The thought if taking Ancient Runes caused it. Her mother her own bloody mother had managed to get it on her schedule. Angel was never so shocked when she saw the class listed on her schedule, she knew that she hadn't bloody well signed up for it so when she went to the office and asked it was explained to her (rather rudely she might add) that her mother had owled ahead upon her return and demanded Angel be placed on the list for Runes class and she was forbidden to ask for it to be removed. This shouldn't be allowed since she was now grown and adult witch but money had changed hands she knew it because the woman utterly refused. This is the reason Angel could now be found solemnly walking the hall in the direction of the room.
Stepping foot inside she saw that it wasn't set up like any class she had seen so far. Now they were just more visible to the professor it would be harder to hide or simply fall asleep like she intended to do. Now she really despised her mother. Hopefully this class wouldn't take too long just get in and get out that would make her whole day. Just nodding hello to the professor she continued on to a desk not bothering with the others in the room.

Quickly followed after Angel, slipping silently into the room and transforming in the shadows before stepping within the light and attention of those in the room. "Professor." The Slytherin greeted curtly, before making her way over to where her friend sat. Summoning her neccessary supplies, she set them up on the desk infront of her, turning to speak with her fellow animagus once she was done, "Hey." she greeted her with a small smile, one reserved for Angel alone in all their months of being best friends. Though not one to get sappy or sentimental very oftem, Erys valued that timespan greatly; the other girl was the only one who had stuck by her when Veata, Joshua and the twins up and vanished. Her best friend, her boyfriend, and her two 'little brothers'. All gone. The twins had returned eventually, but the other pair? Not one snippet of news about them, or from them. Tough life.
"Have you seen Ricky around?" Erys asked carefully, not sounding cautious but edging on it. This had happened many times before, minus the name Ricky plus the name Joshua. She didn't want another situation like that, or else she was giving up on men for good and accepting the life of a single feline. She was sure he'd stick around, though.. They were best friends too. "Nevermind, I'm sure he'll show eventually." The Slytherin dismissed it with a wave of her wand, dipping her quill into her ink jar and scrawling down her name at the top of her parchment in beautiful script.

Walking into the room with confidence, Jason Walker stood tall amongst all of his classmates. His hazel orbs scanned around the room for a split second before deciding to slide into a seat next to Erys and Angelique. He has slowly come to learn that the Slytherins should stick together, mostly from his Care of Magical Creatures class. Offering both the ladies a small smile, Jason relaxed and rests his elbows up on his desk.
"Ancient Runes. Should be fun, yeah?"

Angelina sauntered in after Jason, her usual smirk firmly in place, chocolate brown eyes sparkling with mischief. "Hey Jason." she said, sitting down beside him, she gave a friendly nod to Angelique and Erys, "How are you girls today?"
She smiled at Jason, "Personally, I wouldn't say Runes are...interesting persay, but they are quite useful. If you know what they mean of course!"

The one thing that cheered Angel up at all was the sight of her friend Erys. For some reason having Erys's friendship was practically the only thing that sustained her while she was there at school. Having her around made life bearable. Erys was the kind of friend you would want in your life, she stood up for you and she didn't turn her back on you. At one point there were more of them, her, Erys, Veata, Joshua, even those pesky twins that so loved to cause trouble. Somehow their numbers dwindled so that it was only her and Erys left. It was odd to see the others they had both grown so accustomed to disappear. Angel knew deep down that it was harder on Erys because of Joshua but she never brought it up and Angel didn't want to upset her so she kept quiet about it and allowed Erys to deal with it how she felt best. She hadn't thought about all of this in weeks even after the twins came back she buried the thoughts of all of this away but now it rushed back.
If Erys hadn't spoken to her she'd probably still be sitting there thinking. Glancing up at her friend she heard the question asked her facial expression had not changed though she really wanted to grin wickedly. Angel knew that Erys liked Ricky and that he liked her. There was something blooming between the two though Erys was trying to down play it. Just like now when she said never mind. Still Angel's face hadn't changed as she replied "Yeah I'm sure he'll be here eventually" trying to be as nonchalant as her friend.
Then two other Slytherins walked into the classroom of course they all stuck together sitting near each other. Angel smiled at both Jason and Angelina should be an interesting class.

Was it even possible that Bradyn could have so many boring classes in one day? The torturous potions, and dinivation, then stupid ancient runes? He was seriously thinking about just not coming to that class at all, but the Claws were down in the count and he was going to 'nerd-up' in attempt to fix that. Walking into the class with a bored expression, he took a seat in the back then pushed his stool up against the back wall so he could lean on it. Yeah, that was about as much attention as you were going to get out of him at the moment. He didn't really care who was even in the class, all he knew was that he heard some annoying girl chatting away about useful Runes.
Deciding there was a slim chance that someone interesting was attending the class, he just glanced up and skimmed it. 'Wow, a ton of Slytherins and the only one I'd bother talking to is Erys. Hm, back to sleeping.' He thought and leaned back against the wall with his hands resting behind his head.

"Right!" Kelvyn clapped his hands together as the room darkened. "Who can tell me about Fehu?" Looking around the class, The Ancient Runes Professor glanced at the Ravenclaw at the back of the room who seemed to be sleeping. Finding himself laughing slightly, he flicked his wand and the Symbol of fehu began to glow as it seemed to jump off the board and travel up towards the claw, tickling his nose slightly the Professor watched in amusement. "What about you sleeping princess?" Folding his arms over his chest, "What can you tell me about the Rune that is floating by your head?"
It was unusual to see Kelvyn mad, though standing here smiling it was plain he wasnt annoyed. With a flick of his wand, the Rune left Bradyn's side and began to float around the room, waving in and out of the students. To touch it, the Rune was cold, but it gave off a distinct old feel. Looking towards Bradyn, he waited for the claws answer.

Obviously leaning against a cold, stone wall was much more comfortable than one would expect as it only took a few minutes for him to doze off. But his nap was short-lived as there was an odd sensation in his nose that caused him to wake up with a shock. A shock being some embarrassing arm flailing to keep his balance on the chair. It was only on two legs, didn't the teacher know not to scare someone who was in such a fragile position? After a sudden epiphany, he moved his chair back onto all four legs and was alright again.
Ugh, teachers were just all diabolical. A sleeping student just had to be called on. Running his hand over his face and through his hair as an attempt to wipe the sleepiness from his eyes and focus himself, he just watched the rune dance around the room and raised a brow. "Well, it's Germanic." He said bluntly while trying to think. If only Dar was here, he'd probably just be laughing at him since he was German. "and I believe it deals with worldly possessions... usually livestock?" It was mostly a stab in the dark as his foggy brain wasn't cooperating with him too well and decided it wasn't going to let him remember book information. But, hey, if it was wrong he didn't care much either way.

She had walked in behind the last two Slytherin students. She made sure they didn't notice her just because she had no desire to have them notice her and pick on her or something. So walking quietly she sort of snuck into the room and took a seat quickly. Taking out her books, her quill and some parchment she got ready to learn.
Sitting around waiting for things to start she sort of let herself get lost in a daydream. She often found herself doing that while she was waiting it made the time go so much faster. This time it was about her being the one to win the Quidditch World cup for her house.
It was over almost as soon as it began as the professor lashed out at Bradyn who was sleeping. Alexis shook her head to clear the fog then looked over at her fellow Ravenclaw. It sucked to see someone from her own house getting it, but she wasn't going to say anything he had been caught. Lucky for him he was able to answer the professors question right or wrong she wasn't too sure but at least he didn't sit there like a bump on a log. That probably would have made things worse.

There she went again being late she was in trouble this time. Her head of house was the teacher. She walked in to see a marking on the black board. She knew it. Fehu was on of 24 graphem alphabet. "Sorry I'm late Professor." She had no excuse.
